After months of calls for our leaders to investigate and put an end to legal immigration abuses, the Trump administration has begun to play offense.
On Wednesday, Inspector General Anthony D'Esposito appeared on Fox Business to announce a major development in the Department of Labor's fraud investigations.
'As the Inspector General, my top priorities are exposing fraud, protecting American workers, and putting criminals in cuffs.'
The focus, according to the inspector general, is on the H-1B visa program and PERM, otherwise known as the Program Electronic Review Management system. He said these investigations "without a doubt" have yielded evidence of fraud — and "human trafficking."
In the interview, D'Esposito said the Department of Labor will take "what we believe is probably the most aggressive action against foreign labor fraud by an inspector general in this administration."
He added that the agency has "already started to issue dozens of subpoenas. We are going to make sure that we track down every lead." He mentioned that there are "whistleblowers talking about some of the biggest companies, like Cognizant, who have been ... in chatter of issues with PERM and H-1B visas."
While the investigation does not in itself indicate any form of wrongdoing, according to Department of Labor data from the second quarter of 2026, it is true that Cognizant draws heavily from the H-1B program.

In this three-month data set alone, Cognizant successfully certified approximately 3,440 H-1B visas, according to government data.
A similar review of PERM data from 2025 revealed that the top 10 companies that use this program are:
The PERM program had roughly 80,700 certified applications in 2025. However, it is important to note that this program is not itself a visa issuance program. Rather, it is a preliminary step toward approval in certain visa categories.
"My team, in conjunction with President Trump and Vice President Vance's Fraud Task Force, has worked relentlessly to uncover fraud, safeguard taxpayer dollars, and hold bad actors accountable. For far too long, fraudsters believed they could game the U.S. employment-based visa system and get away with it. They were wrong," D'Esposito said in a Tuesday press release.
"This isn't just paperwork fraud — it's the exploitation of vulnerable workers, forced labor, the displacement of American workers, and abusive human trafficking. As the Inspector General, my top priorities are exposing fraud, protecting American workers, and putting criminals in cuffs."
D'Esposito added that his team will be working closely with President Trump and Vice President Vance's Fraud Task Force "to exhaust every lead."
Blaze News reached out to Cognizant as well as the Office of the Inspector General but did not immediately receive a response.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) is demanding that the Trump administration hit Chinese generic drugmakers with new tariffs over their alleged use of Uyghur forced labor, according to a letter exclusively obtained by Blaze News.
Scott, chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, sent the letter Monday to Ambassador Jamieson Greer of the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative — and he's naming names.

He singled out Sinopharm, China's largest state-owned pharmaceutical conglomerate, as an entity under scrutiny for forced-labor ties in Xinjiang, where China has detained more than 1 million Uyghurs since 2017. The company retains an active pharmaceutical import license in the United States despite the scrutiny.
"Recent reports raise concerns about whether upstream suppliers serving the U.S. generic drug market may abuse Uyghur forced labor," Scott wrote.
Sinopharm and other Chinese firms, Scott claimed, feed key ingredients into Indian generic drug manufacturers — some of which supply a large share of America's Medicaid-reimbursed prescriptions.
Scott wrote, "Forced labor practices are categorically unacceptable and create a dynamic in which American workers and manufacturers are undercut by non-viable competitive pricing reliant on the systemic exploitation of human beings."
Sinopharm and Greer did not respond to a request for comment from Blaze News.

The senator is calling on USTR to apply its already-proposed Section 301 tariffs to generic drugs and ingredients wherever forced labor or Chinese state subsidies are propping up the market. The rates are currently set at 10% and 12.5%.
But he's not stopping there. Scott wants an entirely new, higher tariff tier created specifically to punish "the most egregious participants in forced labor use." He's also demanding that the drug tariffs hit at the same time as tariffs on every other Chinese good — no carve-outs, no delays.
He says current enforcement doesn't come close to matching the scale of the problem. Despite the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act's presumption that anything made in Xinjiang involves "forced labor," only one of 43 licensed pharmaceutical companies in the region has actually landed on the UFLPA Entity List.
Meanwhile, Customs and Border Protection data shows pharmaceuticals and chemicals are the second-largest category of goods blocked under forced-labor import laws, Scott claimed. More than $19 million in shipments have been denied entry since 2022.

The tariff push is one of several efforts under way to confront the issue. Separately, other proposals are seeking to restrict taxpayer-funded Medicaid reimbursement for medications whose upstream production relies on forced labor, alongside a push to add significantly more Xinjiang-linked entities to the UFLPA Entity List.
Scott framed the tariff request as part of a much larger pattern of Chinese trade abuse. He pointed to currency manipulation, China's spot on the USTR's Priority Watch List for intellectual property theft, its blown commitments under the 2020 Phase One trade deal, and a Chinese mining company's alleged role covering up a pollution disaster in Zambia.
"China's reputation as both a trade cheat and a human rights violator remains unparalleled in the global economy," Scott wrote.
The letter builds on Scott's broader campaign against America's reliance on Chinese-linked generic drugs. It follows an October 2025 investigative report he released with Ranking Member Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and the bipartisan Clear Labels Act, which the two introduced in January to force country-of-origin labeling on prescription drugs.

At first glance, genetically mutated rats in New York, Iran’s missile program, Britain’s grooming gang scandal, attacks on ICE facilities, and the rise of democratic socialism in America’s largest cities appear to have nothing in common.
But according to Blaze Media co-founder Glenn Beck, they’re all examples of the same fundamental principle at work.
“Researchers now at Rutgers University found the vast majority of house mice and brown rats across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C., have now genetically mutated to shrug off all of the poison that we have thrown at them for decades,” Glenn reports.
“Every rat that survived a less-than-lethal dose handed that resistance to the next litter. And generation by generation, we bred a more poison-resistant rat,” he adds.
Another story, Glenn says, is that the Trump administration is “asking Congress for $88 billion in supplemental funding tied to the Iran war, with most of it going to the Pentagon and replacing strained missile stockpiles.”
“Yet Tehran is boasting that the deal leaves its missile program untouched while it negotiates with Oman to charge costs for passage through the Strait of Hormuz,” he continues.
“This is a lesson that we refuse to learn, and the world has already learned it about us. We’re never, ever fighting a war enough to kill it. We never fight them hard enough to end it because we get bored, distracted,” he adds.
Glenn also points to the Rape Gang Inquiry Report, which dropped a bombshell: Muslim grooming gangs targeted and trafficked young white girls throughout the U.K.
“For 20 years, British authorities saw this, looked away, terrified of exactly the accusation now being aimed at the report. A half-confronted evil doesn’t shrink from embarrassment. It learns which words will make you flinch,” he explains.
And there is another story Glenn believes is related to the prior three: “More than a dozen defendants got prison for the 2025 attack on an ICE facility, and Rashida Tlaib called the sentencing bull crap.”
One of those arrested shot an ICE officer in the neck.
“The guy who pulled the trigger got 100 years, and Rashida Tlaib is saying this is crazy,” Glenn says.
“We’re jailing bodies, but we’re not touching the belief that told them that violence was righteous. So the belief goes on looking for more recruits,” he continues.
And now, socialists are “about to run four of America’s biggest cities.”
“Mamdani’s machine swept New York,” Glenn says.
“So, line up all of these stories, and the same law runs underneath all five. It is the oldest law in biology, and it does not care about your politics,” he continues. “A poison that doesn’t kill teaches.”

For the first time in more than 40 years, privately developed nuclear reactors are switching on in America.
On June 4, Antares Nuclear's Mark-0 reactor went critical at the Department of Energy's Idaho National Laboratory. Valar Atomics followed on June 18, producing heat from a reactor core inside a tentlike structure in the Utah desert. The Department of Energy called it "the rebirth of America's nuclear industry."

President Trump has long been skeptical of large traditional reactors, saying they tend to get "too big and too complex and too expensive." But he bet big on small modular reactors, pledging to "approve new reactors" and "slash the red tape."
In May 2025, Trump signed four executive orders and set a deadline: at least three new small reactors online by July 4, 2026 — the nation's 250th birthday.
The Department of Energy's Reactor Pilot Program followed, fast-tracking 11 new designs and sidestepping the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's traditional licensing process, which previously took more than 20,000 hours to complete. Oversight was placed with the Energy Department instead.
Antares CEO Jordan Bramble put the stakes plainly: "Nuclear in America has been defined for too long by delays, by companies that said they would and then didn't. We said criticality in 2026, electricity production in 2027, and power to the warfighter in 2028. Today is the first of those commitments delivered on the schedule we set."
Chief nuclear officer at Ocean Atomics Nick Touran summed up the pace: "We haven't done anything this fast, basically ever."

The reactors look nothing like today's massive plants, which average 44 years old. Radiant's design uses small nuclear fuel balls — its chief nuclear officer compared them to gobstoppers — built to be mass-produced and deployed anywhere from military bases to disaster zones. A third reactor still needs to go critical before July 4 to fulfill the president's pledge.
This month, the Trump administration also announced $17.5 billion in loans to build 10 large-scale conventional nuclear plants using Westinghouse technology. Construction is targeted to begin by 2030.
Idaho National Laboratory Director John Wagner made the bigger ambition clear: "The goal was never just criticality. The goal is 400 gigawatts of nuclear capacity by 2050."
Critics aren't sold. Edwin Lyman of the Union of Concerned Scientists called the race "essentially an exercise in public relations," warning that slashing regulations undoes decades of safety lessons. "This is taking us back to the 1950s, and that is not progress."
The program skipped public comment periods and environmental reviews — which the DOE said were unnecessary.
