Sidney Powell says White House officials have blocked her from speaking to President Trump

Attorney Sidney Powell says White House officials have barred her from speaking to President Donald Trump, claiming the president's "own people are misleading and undermining him."

    What are the details?

Powell told The Washington Examiner that her access to Trump has been cut off since Friday, when the president reportedly floated the idea of appointing her to serve as a special counsel to investigate voter fraud — which was an idea shot down by some of his advisers.

"I haven't met or spoken with the President since Friday night," Powell told the Examiner. "The President knows this election was stolen but he is not getting the support he, the Constitution, and the Republic deserve. His own people are misleading and undermining him while protecting their own careers and agendas."

    She added:

"I haven't spoken with the DNI on these issues at all. My efforts to educate [Trump personal attorney Rudy Giuliani] on demonstrable foreign interference in the election including multiple CISA and FBI findings have been met with irrational hostility. I have been blocked by White House counsel and others from seeing or speaking to the President since I raised the public formal findings and even more evidence of the foreign interference from IRAN and CHINA in this election."

Powell became nationally recognized due to her defense of Trump's former national security adviser, Gen. Michael Flynn, and her profile has been raised following the election with her filing of several unsuccessful "Kraken" lawsuits alleging widespread voter fraud.

What did the Trump campaign say?

More than a month ago, the Trump campaign publicly distanced itself from Powell, after she alleged during a campaign news conference that voting machines were manipulated nationwide to flip the election for President-elect Joe Biden as part of a widespread conspiracy involving foreign powers.

    Giuliani reiterated Monday on Newsmax:

"Let me say definitively: Sidney Powell is not part of our legal team. She hasn't been for five weeks. She is not a special counsel for the president. She does not speak for the president, nor does she speak for the administration. She speaks for herself. And she's a fine woman, a fine lawyer, but whatever she is talking about, it's her own opinions. I'm not responsible for them, the president isn't, nor is anybody else on our legal team."

On Tuesday, longtime Republican adviser and strategist Karl Rove blasted Powell, telling Fox News, "Ms. Powell has peddled theories that have little basis in fact."

He picked apart several witnesses that Powell has presented in court for "Kraken" lawsuits.

"What she has done to sort of throw mud on the president through her antics is unbelievable," Rove said. "The president has been so ill-served by this crowd, and she's chief among them."

Rudy Giuliani says legal team will keep fighting Trump's case despite SCOTUS rejecting Texas lawsuit

Rudy Giuliani, the attorney for President Donald Trump, said that they would continue fighting the president's case despite the Supreme Court rejecting a lawsuit from the state of Texas questioning the results from four states.

Giuliani was on Sean Hannity's show on Fox News on Friday night after the results from the Supreme Court were announced.

"Is there any other, do you see any other legal path?" asked Hannity.

"Well the legal path now are the state courts and you have to hope that the justices of the state courts are going to show somewhat more determination, somewhat more willingness to be willing to take some degree of criticism, and somewhat more willingness to have an open mind," said Giuliani.

"That's all we're asking them to do, we're just asking them to hear the facts, let the the American people, let the American people hear the facts and let the judges hear the facts," he continued.

"So far the facts have been oppressed, they've been subject to censorship, censorship by big media, censorship by big tech, censorship by the Democrat party," he said on a cable news show with millions of viewers.

"Censorship by the courts! No court has granted a hearing! I mean, listen to the facts!" Giuliani concluded. "What are you so afraid of, what are you so afraid of? Listen to the facts!"

The president's legal team has filed dozens of lawsuits in their quest to overturn the official results of the election, the vast majority of which have failed.

The Supreme Court decision was a brief one that said simply that the state of Texas did not have the constitutional standing to sue over the manner in which other states run their elections.

Judge allows forensic audit of Dominion voting machines in Antrim County, Michigan

A federal judge has ordered that a forensic inspection of Dominion voting machines can take place in Antrim County, Michigan, where 6,000 votes had been incorrectly flipped from President Trump to Democratic nominee Joe Biden in the early tabulation of votes, before being corrected.

The ruling, however, makes no mention of the presidential election. Rather, Judge Kevin Elsenheimer's order is in response to a lawsuit filed by plaintiff William Bailey, a local resident who is challenging the results of a proposal to allow a marijuana retailer in his village. The proposal initially failed before passing during re-tabulation, a change which Bailey alleges didn't count three damaged ballots, according to MLive.com.

Nevertheless, President Trump's legal team indicated they are the ones who have been granted access to inspect the voting machines.

"The big news coming out of Antrim County, Michigan, this morning ... is that a judge actually granted our team access to 22 of the Dominion voting machines for us to conduct a forensic audit," Trump attorney Jenna Ellis told Fox News Sunday morning.

"So our team is going to be able to go in there this morning and we'll be there for about eight hours to conduct that forensic examination and we'll have the results in about 48 hours and that will tell us a lot about these machines," she added.

Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani called the ruling a "big win" on Twitter.

The error, which incorrectly awarded 6,000 votes to Biden which had actually gone for Trump, was originally described as a technical malfunction with the counting equipment. However, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson later clarified that the error was a result of a Republican clerk "accidentally [not updating] the software used to collect voting machine data and report unofficial results." She suggested that the "human error" would have have been detected during a county canvass anyway.

But the president's legal team has been suspicious of that claim and allege that what happened in Antrim County was representative of what happened all over the state and all over the country — the difference being that in Antrim County the bad actors attempting to rig the election were simply caught.

It was not immediately clear why Ellis suggested it was Trump's team that would be conducting the inspection, but it likely had to do with the presence of members of Allied Security Operations Group during the audit. ASOG, a group affiliated with Trump's legal team, was responsible for producing a report used as evidence in Bailey's lawsuit.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Antrim County announced on Saturday that ASOG technicians would conduct the audit in the presence of county clerk Sheryl Guy, county administrator Pete Garwood, county attorney Haider Kazim, three county commissioners, a county IT technician, and a member of the sheriff's department.

Ted Cruz fires back at pro-Trump attorney Lin Wood for telling Republicans to boycott Georgia Senate runoff election

Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas fired back at the exhortation from pro-Trump attorney L. Lin Wood to Republicans to boycott the Senate runoff election in Georgia until officials change election security policies.

Wood and Sidney Powell, the attorney who represented Gen. Mike Flynn, called for voters to boycott the runoff election that would determine control of the U.S. Senate and could keep Democrats from seizing all three branches of government.

Cruz pushed back and called Wood a "clown" in a missive sent Thursday.

"I don't know who this clown is, but anyone saying America would be better off w/ Chuck Schumer as Majority Leader—producing huge tax increases, the Green New Deal, massive amnesty & a packed Supreme Court destroying the Bill of Rights—is trying to mislead the people of Georgia," tweeted Cruz.

He added in a second tweet, "it's almost as if...he's a Democrat."

Cruz linked to a video showing Wood preaching to a crowd in a rally in Atlanta, Georgia, on Wednesday and telling them that the Republican candidates for the Senate runoff elections had not earned their vote.

"Don't not be fooled twice, this is Georgia, we ain't dumb!" said Wood to loud applause.

He went on to demand that the candidates publicly and repeatedly call for a special session of the Georgia legislature to address the accusations of voter fraud in the presidential election.

"They have not earned your vote. Don't you give it to them," he continued. "Why would you go back and vote in another rigged election for God's sake! Fix it! You gotta fix it before we'll do it again!"

Wood had gained notoriety for representing Nicholas Sandmann, the teenager who had been smeared by national news outlets publicizing a misleading video of his interaction with a liberal protester in Washington, D.C. He also took up the defense of Kyle Rittenhouse, the teenager who shot and killed two Black Lives Matter protesters in Kenosha, Michigan, after they attacked him during a protest.

Wood also said that he would sue the Biden campaign for a political advertisement video that implied Rittenhouse was a white supremacist.

Democratic congressman wants Rudy Giuliani, other Trump lawyers disbarred for post-election work

New Jersey Democratic Rep. Bill Pascrell has filled paperwork requesting the disbarment of attorneys working on behalf of President Donald Trump's campaign, citing "attempts to overturn the election and demolish democracy."

    What are the details?

Pascrell wrote the legal disciplinary authorities in five states — Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and New York — last week requesting the "severest sanction" against Rudy Giuliani and 22 other Trump attorneys: "revocation of their law licensures."

Speaking about Giuliani specifically, Pascrell claimed the former New York City mayor has violated rules governing the professional conduct of lawyers by participating in "frivolous lawsuits," using the court system to "assault public confidence in the United States electoral system," and engaging "in conduct involving dishonest, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation."

"The egregious pattern of behavior by Mr. Giuliani to effectuate Mr. Trump's sinister arson is a danger not just to our legal system but is also unprecedented in our national life. In carrying out that perversion, Mr. Giuliani has clearly violated the New York Rules of Professional Conduct he swore to uphold and should face the severest sanction your body can mete out: revocation of his law licensure," Pascrell said.

Similar claims of professional attorney misconduct were made against the other Trump lawyers.

    What's the background?

Trump's legal team have made numerous allegations of wide-scale voter fraud. However, they have not backed their allegations with concrete evidence in court.

Their failure to substantiate their allegations publicly has earned scorn from Republican lawmakers, Fox News host Tucker Carlson, and even staunch allies of Trump, like former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who called Trump's legal team a "national embarrassment."

One of the Trump legal team's latest losses came in Pennsylvania over the weekend, when a federal judge denied their request to invalidate millions of votes. Doing so would have amounted to violating the Constitution, the judge said.

    Anything else?

As TheBlaze reported, Pascrell has also said Trump and his "enablers" should be "tried for their crimes against our nation and Constitution."

"Donald Trump and members of his administration have committed innumerable crimes against the United States," Pascrell said, claiming the Trump administration has "engaged in treachery, in treason."

"Therefore, in 2021 the entire Trump administration must be fully investigated by the Department of Justice and any other relevant offices," Pascrell said.

Trump campaign releases statement: Sidney Powell 'is not a member of the Trump Legal Team'

The Trump campaign released a statement on Sunday evening that lawyer Sidney Powell is not a member of the legal team representing President Donald Trump.

Trump campaign senior legal adviser Jenna Ellis and Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani made the announcement in a statement, which was shared on Twitter.

"Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own," the statement reads. "She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity."

    — Jenna Ellis (@Jenna Ellis)1606083804.0

The statement was issued only days after Powell appeared alongside Giuliani and Ellis at a Trump campaign press conference outlining claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election. On Thursday, Powell claimed that Communist countries, including Venezuela, Cuba, and China, meddled in the 2020 presidential election through the Dominion voting machines and Smartmatic software.

Powell has been making extraordinary claims about widespread election fraud, which have been heavily contested. Powell stated that Trump won the 2020 presidential election in a "landslide" and his legal team is "going to prove it." On Saturday, Powell alleged that Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) was involved in a pay-for-play scandal involving Dominion Voting Systems.

"Hopefully this week we will get it ready to file, and it will be biblical," Powell said on Saturday.

TheBlaze reached out to the Trump campaign, but did not receive a response before publication.

'Trump won by a landslide': Sidney Powell claims Trump legal team will 'prove' election corruption

In this episode of "The Rubin Report," Dave Rubin discussed Trump campaign attorney Sidney Powell's highly contested claim that President Donald Trump "won by a landslide" and his legal team is "going to prove it."

During a news conference Thursday, Powell alleged that electronic voting systems were used to change or remove votes to change the outcome of the election, and that the Trump team has the evidence to prove it. If true, this changes everything — but let's see the proof.

Dave also talked about Rep. Tom McClintock's epic takedown of California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) over the latest lockdown, the new "culturally responsive teaching standards" in Illinois, and how progressive education has gotten so bad that Megyn Kelly has decided to leave New York City after she received a letter from her child's school that talked about the importance of "reforming white kids" and that there is a "future killer cop in every classroom".
