Biden admin's last-ditch pitch for more foreign funding

President Joe Biden's administration has reportedly made a last-minute push for Ukraine aid in the upcoming government spending bill Congress will need to pass by December 20.

The Office of Management and Budget sent a request in late November urging Congress to approve another $24 billion of emergency funding toward weapons and equipment for Ukraine in the upcoming funding package. Speaker Mike Johnson, however, has expressed disinterest in approving additional aid.

'It is not the place of Joe Biden to make that decision now.'

"I'm not planning to do that," Johnson said during a press conference Wednesday when asked about Biden's request.

"There are developments by the hour in Ukraine," Johnson continued. "I think, as we predicted and as I said to all of you weeks before the election, if Donald Trump is elected, it will change the dynamic of the Russian war on Ukraine. And we're seeing that happen."

Johnson noted that he would prioritize the suggestions of incoming President-elect Donald Trump over the current Biden administration.

"It is not the place of Joe Biden to make that decision now," Johnson said during the press conference. "We have a newly elected president, and we're going to wait and take the new commander in chief's direction on all of that."

Congress will have to pass another funding bill by December 20 in order to avoid a government shutdown before the holidays. Johnson noted earlier this week that he is expecting the funding to go into March while others within the conference have advocated for a funding bill that would go into January.

The reality is the longer the funding bill is extended, the less wiggle room for the incoming administration to set its legislative agenda.

Republicans are also expecting at least three vacancies in the upcoming Congress due to Trump's nominations, tightening the already slim House majority. As a result, Republicans will likely have to rely on Democrats to approve a spending bill, weakening their bargaining power.

Did the government ABANDON Hurricane Helene victims?

One of the most devastating natural disasters to hit America, Hurricane Helene has left dozens dead and millions affected across the southern United States.

However, while communities in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina deal with extreme flooding and property losses, FEMA still hasn’t reached some of the hardest-hit towns.

“They may make it today. The Red Cross has not arrived; they may make it today,” Glenn Beck of “The Glenn Beck Program” comments, days after Helene hit North Carolina.

Mercury One, on the other hand, is making sure communities like Asheville — whose damage has left citizens stranded and unable to leave — are not abandoned.

“We’ll be on the ground in Asheville,” Glenn says. “We’ve ordered helicopters to bring in supplies, water, food, and I mean it’s really amazing what’s happening. Benny Johnson is providing a few pallets of water as well. And so It’s just everybody coming together, and the government not doing their job.”

Executive director of Mercury One J.P. Decker has a contact on the ground in Asheville who is a former Green Beret and lost track of his wife and 3-year-old daughter.

“He was out of town and found out what happened and flew back and ended up getting on a helicopter and found them in the midst of all the destruction, and one hundred other people that still hadn’t been rescued,” Decker tells Glenn.

Meanwhile, the Biden-Harris administration pledged billions more in aid to Ukraine just this weekend.

“It is truly remarkable,” Glenn says. “They don’t care at all.”

“We’re giving billions to a country, but yet not our own Americans, not our own people,” Decker agrees. “They feel abandoned yet again, from the government. Again, we don’t think it’s the government’s job to do everything, but in this case, they should be stepping in.”

How Speaker Mike Johnson BETRAYED Republicans — Rep. Massie SOUNDS OFF

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) has joined Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) in seeking to oust Speaker of the House Mike Johnson before the election — and Glenn Beck is wondering how it got to this point.

“I don’t understand this whole Mike Johnson thing, as speaker of the House, I don’t understand what happened to him, how we went so wrong,” Glenn says to Massie.

Massie has his reasons and lays out three times Johnson not only betrayed his own party but the American people as well.

“He did an omnibus bill that spends more than Nancy Pelosi’s omnibus bills did, and he gave the FBI a brand-new building in that omnibus bill, and he didn’t give us time to read it,” Massie explains, adding, “that was the first betrayal.”

“Second betrayal: FISA. This is the spying program that’s been used to surveil Americans without a warrant. He cast the deciding vote on whether to have warrants or not, and he voted against warrants,” Massie continues.

Lastly, Massie lays out the third betrayal, which happened when every Democrat in the house voted to send more money to Ukraine, before waving Ukrainian flags.

“I think Speaker Johnson, if capable of having shame at this point, should have been humiliated by that display as well. I put the video of that on Twitter and the sergeant at arms told me it would fine me $500 if I didn’t take it down, so I reposted it,” Massie laughs.

“Third betrayal was that Ukrainian vote,” he says. “We gave up all leverage on any border security.”
