‘We All Have a Trump Problem’: UN Official Angling for Role in Post-War Gaza Has History of Bashing Trump

A senior U.N. official jockeying for a prominent role in implementing President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan has a history of bashing Trump on his personal X account. Tom Fletcher, the United Nations' undersecretary general for humanitarian affairs and emergency relief coordinator in Gaza, has advocated for foreign leaders to boycott the president and warned the world has "a Trump problem," among many other insults in more than two dozen social media posts reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon.

Trump Admin Gets UN To Slash 'Ineffective' Peacekeeping Force's US-Funded Budget

U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz reached an agreement with the international body this week that will see the United Nations slash its global peacekeeping force by about 25 percent and reduce peacekeeping funding by 15 percent, according to those briefed on the matter. The United Nations' concessions are part of a broader push by the Trump administration to reduce the organization's ballooning budgets funded in large part with U.S. taxpayer dollars.

To the leftist foreign policy establishment, a nation’s status within the 'global community' matters more than its national security.

'We can ... prevent planetary crash and burn': UN's Antonio Guterres advocates phase out of fossil fuels

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres is beating the climate alarmism drumbeat and calling for the eventual phasing out of fossil fuels.

"Not reduce. Not abate. Phase out with a clear timeframe aligned with 1.5 degrees," he said during a speech.

Guterres dramatically spoke of "the sickness bringing our climate to its knees. A sickness only you, global leaders, can cure." He claimed that "Earth's vital signs are failing."

"We can — you can — prevent planetary crash and burn," Guterres declared.

He said that "climate chaos is fanning the flames of injustice" and called for accelerating a "just, equitable transition to renewables."

"You give up fossil fuels first, Mr. UN Secretary. Lead by example," Gabriella Hoffman tweeted.

"Want a better world? Reduce the power of politicians and globalists," someone else wrote.

"Ok, as the Secretary General of the UN, please tell us which people should be the first to die from starvation when you try to keep the grid on and simultaneously produce fertiliser with just renewable energy?" someone else posted.

U.N. Climate Change Executive Secretary Simon Stiell recently declared during a speech, "If we do not signal the terminal decline of the fossil fuel era as we know it, we welcome our own terminal decline."

UN secretary-general accused of showing 'an understanding for terrorism and murder' committed by Hamas

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres found himself in hot water Tuesday after appearing to express sympathy for Hamas terrorists and their attack on Israel.

During a speech at the U.N. Security Council, Guterres demanded a ceasefire in Gaza, talking out of both sides of his mouth. Immediately before declaring that "the grievances of the Palestinian people cannot justify the appalling attacks by Hamas," Guterres appeared to do exactly that.

"It is important to also recognize the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum," Guterres said.

"The Palestinian people have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation," he added. "They have seen their land steadily devoured by settlements and plagued by violence; their economy stifled; their people displaced and their homes demolished. Their hopes for a political solution to their plight have been vanishing."

The sympathetic comments received a forceful response from Gilad Erdan, Israel's permanent representative to the U.N.

In a statement, Erdan directly accused Guterres of expressing "an understanding for terrorism and murder."

"The shocking speech by [Guterres] at the Security Council meeting, while rockets are being fired at all of Israel, proved conclusively, beyond any doubt, that the Secretary-General is completely disconnected from the reality in our region and that he views the massacre committed by Nazi Hamas terrorists in a distorted and immoral manner," Erdan said.

In a follow-up statement, Erdan said Guterres' speech showed "understanding for the campaign of mass murder of children, women, and the elderly" and, therefore, concluded he "is not fit to lead the U.N."

"I call on him to resign immediately," Erdan said. "There is no justification or point in talking to those who show compassion for the most terrible atrocities committed against the citizens of Israel and the Jewish people. There are simply no words."

Just as problematic, Guterres' demand for a ceasefire failed to acknowledge the reality of the situation for Israel: unless Hamas is defeated, the terrorist organization will continue to attack Israel.

The ceasefire, then, will effectively apply only to Israel.

3 Facts To Arm You Against Global Elites’ Biggest ‘Climate Crisis’ Lies

Climate-related deaths are down 99 percent worldwide over the past 100 years — thanks largely to fossil fuels, capitalism, and human innovation.

'Climate change is here. It is terrifying': UN chief refers to 'global boiling' while peddling climate alarmism agenda

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres promoted the climate alarmism agenda during remarks on Thursday, even using the term "global boiling" during his speech.

"Climate change is here. It is terrifying. And it is just the beginning," he warned. "The era of global warming has ended," he asserted. "The era of global boiling has arrived. The air is unbreathable. The heat is unbearable. And the level of fossil fuel profits and climate inaction is unacceptable," he declared.

Guterres' comments just add to the constant chorus of climate alarmism being broadcast by many figures.

For instance, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Democratic candidate who lost the 2016 presidential contest to Republican Donald Trump, recently raised eyebrows by claiming that Republicans are to blame for high temperatures.

"Hot enough for you? Thank a MAGA Republican. Or better yet, vote them out of office," Clinton wrote.

She made the absurd accusation when retweeting a post in which the Center for American Progress Action Fund had claimed "MAGA Republicans are pouring fuel on the climate crisis fire."

President Joe Biden, who is also a purveyor of the climate alarmist agenda, has called climate change "the existential threat to humanity."

BlazeTV host Glenn Beck has pointed out that there is a history of climate alarmism. "In fact, the only constant over the last hundred years of climate fear-mongering," Beck said, is that "the experts insist that unless we do what they say right now, the world will end."

Sen. Jeff Merkley says it is 'shameful' that UN Secretary-General António Guterres will attend the Beijing Olympics

Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon decried it as "shameful" that United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is planning to show up at the Beijing Olympics this month.

Guterres said last month that he plans "to be present in the opening," according to Reuters.

Merkley said that Guterres could courageously use his presence as a platform to highlight China's human rights abuses, condemn the "surveillance state," or to declare that the International Olympic Committee has made athletes "pawns in China's propaganda machine" and demand that they should have complete freedom of speech — but the senator said he does not expect the UN official to take any of those bold stands.

"The secretary-general considers the Olympic Games as an important expression of unity, mutual respect and cooperation between different cultures, religions and ethnicities," deputy press secretary for the secretary-general Farhan Haq told Politico via email. "The secretary-general is hopeful that the present contacts between the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Chinese Mission in Geneva will allow for the invitation to the High Commissioner to visit China, including Xinjiang, to lead to a credible mission after the Olympics."

The U.S. previously announced a diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Olympics.

"U.S. diplomatic or official representation would treat these games as business as usual in the face of the PRC's egregious human rights abuses and atrocities in Xinjiang, and we simply can't do that," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in December.
