Chrissy Teigen blasted for having servants carry her dress through streets to the White House Correspondents' Dinner

Chrissy Teigen was slammed for having servants carry the train of her dress through the streets on the way to the 2023 White House Correspondents' Dinner.

President Joe Biden mocked the press corps at the dinner dedicated to the journalists who cover the president of the United States.

"In a lot of ways, this dinner sums up my first two years in office. I’ll talk for 10 minutes, take zero questions, and cheerfully walk away," Biden ridiculed the press to their faces as to how he doesn't field their questions.

The event was hosted by stand-up comedian Roy Wood Jr., and featured celebrities such as Kelly Ripa, Brittney Griner, Julia Fox, Rosario Dawson, Liev Schreiber, John Leguizamo, Gayle King, and Lena Headey.

Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend also attended the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The 37-year-old former model was caught on video having servants carry the train of her dress through the streets.

Teigen and Legend walked past climate crisis activists screaming, "The planet is dying!"

The Twitter reactions lampooned Teigen for the tone-deaf display.

Podcast host Jedediah Bila said, "I'm surprised she doesn't have her peasants masked. The liberal elite is gross at every level."

Journalist Ian Miles Cheong tweeted, "These people are more important than you. You'll have to carry their dress for for them, peasant."

Podcast host Shawn Farash added, "Love the servants trailing Teigen... EQUITY!!!!"

One Twitter user wrote, "This is what peak liberalism looks like."

Author Jennifer Sey noted, "Chrissy Teigen at the White House correspondents dinner has Met Gala 2021 vibes."

Drag queen rallies militant leftists defending drag story time for kids at library: 'This is not lewd! We LGBT people, we're not inappropriate!'

Militant leftists far outnumbered people protesting a drag story time event for kids Saturday in front of the Fall River Public Library in Massachusetts — and a drag queen was on hand to rally the woke troops.

Miss Gloria was jazzed that so many fellow leftists came out "to show Nazis that they have no place in the 21st century!" The cheering crowd loved it.

Speaking in defense of the drag story time event, Miss Gloria added: "This is not lewd! We LGBT people, we're not inappropriate! ... We reject hate!"

Video journalist Brendan Gutenschwager captured the drag queen's speech and a number of other notable moments:

\u201cDrag performer Ms. Gloria addresses the crowd and thanks them for supporting the event, which has faced protests in recent months here in Fall River\u201d
— Brendan Gutenschwager (@Brendan Gutenschwager) 1673716455

WJAR-TV spoke to Sean Connell — who plays Miss Gloria — and he told the station he believes there's a big difference between drag shows that take place at bars and the drag story time event.

"It's not recruitment. It's not grooming. It's love. It's stories," Connell told WJAR. "It's letting LGBT kids know that LGBT adults are here — we survive [and] they can survive and they can continue to be themselves."

Connell added to the station that despite the protests, the drag story time at the library will continue every month: "I think that the big message here is, 'Don't let hate and fear stop you from learning who you are and from being your authentic self.'"

What else happened?

At one point, a lone man holding a "no sex with children! Pervert!" sign stood in front of the leftist group supporting the drag event, one of whom waved an Antifa flag:

Here's the clip showing the man eventually being surrounded:

There was your obligatory "go home, Nazis!" chant:

— Brendan Gutenschwager (@Brendan Gutenschwager) 1673717697

A different lone man standing against the drag time story event faced off against leftists standing guard and wouldn't back down when one them took a couple of steps beyond the protection of his group and put on a tough-guy routine:

Here's the clip. (Content warning: language):

Anything else?

WJAR did get the perspective of one person protesting the drag time story event.

"I'm just completely against it, I want it to stop," Christine Doherty told the station. "Drag shows and drag queens are not appropriate for children. Nobody's homophobic on our side at all. Drag shows are fine for adults who want to go see them."

Hundreds cheer on launch of 'People's Convoy' from the Mojave Desert in California on its way to Washington, DC

Hundreds of people lined up along the highway at a city in the Mojave Desert of California to cheer on the launch of the "People's Convoy" of trucks and other vehicles on their way to protest in Washington, D.C.

Videos on social media showed hundreds of supporters bringing supplies to help kick off the convoy from Adelanto, a small city in San Bernardino County. Many waved pro-Trump flags, anti-Biden flags, and even some Canadian flags in reference to the trucker blockade in Ottawa.

The convoy is scheduled to arrive in Washington, D.C., on March 5, when President Joe Biden will be giving his State of the Union address to Congress.

Organizers said the truckers are protesting against mask mandates, vaccine mandates, and high gas prices. They are also demanding that the government end the emergency declaration first begun under the Trump administration.

“To the truck drivers around the world: Now is your time to stand up. Now is your time to usher in a renaissance time of freedom,” said organizer Brian Brase at the rally. “Do not bow down.”

The website for the group said they had already collected close to half a million dollars in donations.

“Funds will be used to reimburse fuel and hard costs of the trucker, and the fund is being handled by volunteer accountants and overseen by a law firm,” the website said.

The Los Angeles Times reported that hundreds of cars joined the convoy but that the number of actual big rigs counted less than 40.

The National Guard said that 700 troops have been sent to the D.C. area as a precaution.

The Pentagon said the National Guard troops called to the capital won't be armed or participating in law enforcement duties, but instead will be primarily sent for traffic control.

"We're not out here to be a hostile group, we're not out here to fight with police," said Bob Bolus, a trucker from Pennsylvania who is also headed to D.C., to KTLA-TV.

“Let’s put it this way: We’re not shutting the traffic down today. If we don’t have a resolution from the government, to the rights that they’re taking from us, I will predict in the future it will get shut down," Bolus explained.

Kirk Cameron delivers rousing speech at March for Life rally: 'Our hope is not in the White House ... our hope is in the power of God working in the hearts of His people'

Actor Kirk Cameron delivered a rousing speech at the March for Life and made an appearance on Fox News, where he revealed that the "tide is turning" in how society views abortion — even in progressive Hollywood.

"Most of us have someone in our life — sometimes it's a wife, sometimes it's our children — who are touched by this issue of abortion and life," Cameron told Fox News correspondent Rachel Campos-Duffy on Friday morning.

Cameron explained that his wife — fellow actor Chelsea Noble — was adopted when she was a child and was "one doctor appointment away from not existing."

"She was not a mistake, she was a miracle, and our first four children are adopted," Cameron continued. "They were 'this close' to not existing. And our two natural-born children would not be here if my wife had not been born, and her birth mother not chosen life."

"So for me, my whole family is here because of the work of the people like who are coming to the Mall today for the March for Life," Cameron said.

Campos-Duffy said she has a fight in the pro-life movement, revealing that her own daughter has Down syndrome.

"I think that we’re at a tipping point," Cameron asserted. "I think that the tide is turning; science is making it more and more difficult for us to pretend that it’s not a baby in the womb. We know that it is."

"Even in Hollywood, there are more and more people who are embracing the idea that life is a gift from God," said Cameron, who is best known for his role as Mike Seaver on the 80s sitcom "Growing Pains."

"If you talk to the people who are here, some people don’t understand why we come and why we’re marching, but we understand as the family of faith, that our hope is ultimately not in who governs us, it’s not in the laws that we make as a nation," Cameron proclaimed. "Our hope is in the power of God working in the hearts of people, and there are thousands and thousands of us here today, we want to make a difference, we want to champion life."

Cameron was a speaker at the 49th annual March for Life rally in Washington, D.C., where there were "tens of thousands" of pro-life activists estimated to be in attendance.

"So excited to be here with you. I love to see your signs, your smiles, and your hearts filled with love and compassion for moms and babies and families," Cameron began his speech at the pro-life event.

"Why are we here? The Bible, the book that built America, says that those who hate God love death. But we’re the family of faith. We love God, therefore we love life," the devout Christian explained.

"And our hope is not in the White House, it’s not in Congress, our hope is not in the people that govern us or the laws we make in this nation, our hope is in the power of God working in the hearts of His people," Cameron told the crowd at the National Mall.

"We’re going to be marching together this afternoon. But after this day is over, I want us all to remember to continue the marching orders that have been given to us by our Commander in Chief Who lives in the heavenly places," Cameron exclaimed, which sparked applause from the audience. "And His executive orders trump all executive orders. And the mandates from Heaven remind us to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God. That’s what we will be doing this afternoon, and I’m proud to be with you. God bless you guys."

NFL accused of 'shilling' for the Chinese Communist Party by 'erasing the independent nation of Taiwan'

The NFL is facing backlash for sharing a world map that showed Taiwan belonging to China.

On Wednesday, the National Football League announced a new international home marketing program for select franchises.

"NFL announced that 18 teams have been granted access to 26 International Home Marketing Areas (IHMA) across eight different countries," the NFL statement said. "This ground-breaking, new initiative grants clubs access to international territories for marketing, fan engagement and commercialization as part of an important, long-term, strategic effort to enable clubs to build their global brands while driving NFL fan growth internationally."

The NFL posted a world map on Twitter showing which teams would be promoted and in what international markets.

— NFL345 (@NFL345) 1639594405

As the map made the rounds on social media, keen-eyed commentators noticed that the map showed China colored red as well as Taiwan — also called the Republic of China. Online critics questioned why the NFL included Taiwan as part of China when it is a separate, independent nation.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) slammed the sports league, "The NFL, which is chasing dollars from the Chinese Communist Party, shows Taiwan as part of China. Disgraceful cowardice."

Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez (R-Fla.) also blasted the National Football League, "Hey @NFL, why are you depicting China and Taiwan as the same country? Do you not believe in the freedom of Taiwan? Stop shilling for the #CCP. It’s shameful to profit off the oppression of the Taiwanese people and the slavery of the Uyghurs."

Columnist Jon Gabriel asked, "Why do you include Taiwan as part of China? Taiwan is an independent country."

Writer Ian Miles Cheong tweeted, "The NFL caves to communist China and falsely lists Taiwan as a part of Chinese territory."

Republican political operative Logan Dobson reacted by saying, "Just the @NFL erasing the independent nation of Taiwan to suck up to genocidal Chinese Communists for money."

Author Dan K. Eberhart pointed out, "The @NFL and @NBA can virtue signal about human rights all they want. Your words mean absolutely nothing if you're too cowardly to put human rights above making money in China's market."

The Economist's China affairs editor Gady Epstein quipped, "NFL seems to have decided which team Taiwan is on."

Sarah McLaughlin – director of targeted advocacy at the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education – responded by saying, "I would love to hear how the NFL is planning (if at all) to deal with the free speech challenges that will inevitably develop here. Their initial response to these issues in the U.S. was bad enough; what can we expect if they get their own NBA/China-type controversy?"

The Los Angeles Rams are assigned to China, so Fox News contributor Johnny "Joey" Jones asked the team, "Do you endorse this erasure of an entire country?"

Brendan Carr – commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission – shared a map depicting Taiwan as its own country with the caption: "Fixed it for you, @NFL."

The NFL did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.

In November, the CCP declared that it would punish enterprises that support Taiwan's independence from mainland China.

"We welcome Taiwan-based enterprises to invest and develop in the mainland and will continue to protect their legitimate rights and interests in accordance with the law," Zhu Fenglian, the spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office, said, according to Business Insider. "But we will never allow those that support Taiwan independence or damage cross-Straits relations to make money on the mainland. They and their associated companies and financiers must be punished in accordance with the law."

Also last month, China's Taiwan Affairs Office in Beijing warned, "The mainland will pursue criminal responsibility for Taiwan independence diehards in accordance with the law, to be effective for life," the Daily Mail reported.

During President Joe Biden's Summit for Democracy earlier this month, the video feed of a slideshow presentation from Taiwanese Digital Minister Audrey Tang abruptly stopped. There are reports that the White House censored the presentation because it promoted Taiwan as separate from China – which would be a violation of the "One-China policy" that only recognizes the People’s Republic of China and not the Republic of China. U.S. and Taiwan officials blamed "technical problems" for the disruption that caused the video to fail.

Protesters angry over Rittenhouse acquittal demand communist revolution: 'The only solution is communist revolution!'

Protesters angry that Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted of all criminal charges against him gathered in Chicago on Saturday and demanded a communist revolution.

What happened?

Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition led the protest in downtown Chicago. Jackson called the Rittenhouse verdict a "major blow against justice and open season by the violence of right-wing military," according to WBBM-TV.

The protesters reportedly demanded the Justice Department intervene and investigate the Rittenhouse trial because the jury was "mostly white." However, data from the U.S. Census Bureau show that nearly 80% of Kenosha residents are, in fact, white.

Video taken from the rally showed demonstrators parading down Chicago streets with a large sign that read, "Rittenhouse—Guilty! Guilty! Guilty! No Facist USA. Organize Now For Real Revolution." Another sign read, "End The Trump Era. Stop White Supremacy." The crowd was chanting, "If we don't get it— shut it down!" and "No Justice, No Peace!"

At one point during demonstrations, protesters began openly calling for a communist revolution.

"The only solution is communist revolution! The only solution is communist revolution! The only solution is communist revolution!" the crowd chanted. "That's right! We need communism. That's what we need. We need that! We need that, sister, we need that very much!"

Other protesters who spoke to local media voiced frustrations using trite talking points.

"I'm still very, very disappointed. Just a travesty of justice. The illegal gun possession, the Kenosha police basically deputizing him. All of it is based in racism," one protester told WGN-TV.

Another protester told the same outlet the Rittenhouse verdict represents "a green light for more white supremacy vigilante terror."

Can the DOJ do anything?

Despite demands for DOJ intervention into the decision by 12 of Rittenhouse's peers to conclude he acted in self-defense, thereby making him not guilty of committing murder, it remains unclear what the Justice Department could do, if anything at all.

Rittenhouse was never charged with a federal crime, nor did the murder accusations against Rittenhouse invoke violations of federal law.

More from WOFL-TV:

Rittenhouse was not accused of a hate crime and because he is not a member of law enforcement, he cannot be charged with depriving anyone of their civil rights as a federal agent. Rittenhouse was also not accused of a robbery on federal property or involving a federal business.

Meanwhile, the Justice Department's explains on its own website the agency cannot intervene in matters of state law.

"The Department of Justice has no authority to intervene in matters of state law. The Department of Justice can assume jurisdiction only when there has been a violation of federal law," the DOJ website states.

Shooting in Kenosha leaves 3 dead, 2 wounded; suspect at large

Three people were killed and two others were injured early Sunday morning from a shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The shooting happened at around 12:42 a.m. at the Somers House Tavern in Kenosha, where three people were pronounced dead at the scene. The two victims with gunshot wounds were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries.

Authorities provided few details about the shooting, only saying that the deadly incident "appears to be a targeted and isolated incident."

"We do not believe there is a threat to the community at this time," the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department said in a statement. "The names, ages, and cities of residence for the victims are still being determined."

The suspect is still at large.

"The suspect is described as a black male over six feet tall wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt," Sgt. David Wright said in the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department's media release.

Sheriff David Beth gave a press conference on Sunday morning, and said the department wasn't ruling out the possibility of more than one person involved in the shooting, according to WTMJ-TV.

"I know that there was a confrontation obviously inside the building and I believe just outside the building there was another confrontation with gunfire," Beth said. "So there could be more than one, absolutely."

Sheriff Beth said he doesn't believe there is an active threat to the public, "I don't believe the people in this area are in harm's way because of this suspect not being captured."

"I don't know if the gunman was known to the victims, but I currently believe that the gunman knew who the victims were," Beth stated. "Whether the victims knew the gunman, I don't know that."

Sheriff Beth noted that he believes there were multiple handguns used in the shooting.

"I believe they were handguns," Beth said when asked about the type of firearms used in the shooting. "From the best I can determine, handguns were used here."

The shooting investigation is active, and police are asking that anyone with information should contact the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department.

Kenosha made national headlines last August when Kyle Rittenhouse shot two people dead and wounded another during riots in the city sparked by the police-involved shooting of Jacob Blake.

'Don't you dare start this s**t!': Lone man furiously stands up to mob of left-wing militants gathered in front of police in Brooklyn Center

A lone man was caught on video furiously confronting a large group of left-wing militants gathered in front of police Wednesday night in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, where protests and riots have ensued nightly since the police-involved fatal shooting of Daunte Wright over the weekend.

What are the details?

Independent journalist Brendan Gutenschwager posted the clip on Twitter and said the man "briefly tried taming the line of umbrellas" and stood "between them and police" and was "discouraging agitation" of officers.

It isn't clear who the man is or exactly why he's angry at the militants, but leftist protesters toting their umbrellas to hide their identities have long inflicted violence upon others in the streets and damaged and destroyed property.

"Don't you dare start this s**t!" he yelled at the group, grabbing one of the umbrellas and pointing his finger through the opening. "Not here tonight! Not here tonight!"

At one point the man's body shook as he clenched his fists and jumped in place while screaming at the mob:

Image source: Twitter video screenshot via @BGOnTheScene

One of the militants hollered back at the man that "they're the ones that are starting that s**t!" presumably in reference to police. Another militant who sounded like a female yelled at the man, "Yo! Get the f*** outta here!"

Another militant questioned why the group should be "peaceful" and then screamed at police, "There's no such thing as f***ing peaceful! You f***ing killed from the beginning, bro! F*** you!"

The man began trying to engage the latter militant when the clip ended.

How did folks react?

Some commenters reacting to the clip didn't like the man's stance ("a false preacher preaching lies"), while others expressed support for his actions and contempt for the militants:

  • "That guy is brave as s**t," one commenter noted.
  • "White Antifa [millennials] can't stand a black man talking back," one user declared.
  • "Brooklyn Center population 30K plus. Where's the other 29,999 to stand with this man," another commenter wrote. "I believe you have these idiots outnumbered folks!"
  • "Bless that man trying to defuse all of those angry protesters from the police," another user said. "Wished they would listen to him."
  • "Can't help but notice the white voices screaming at him," another commenter observed. "I think for some it's a sport, sadly, which is not what it should be about."
  • "Telling a black man 'Yo, get the f*** out of here' for those that are there in support of Black Lives Matter," another user noticed. "What a world we live in."

Brooklyn Center protesters pelt CNN crew with water bottle and eggs, chase them away: 'Get the f*** out of here!'

Unruly protesters at the Brooklyn Center Police District in Minnesota chased away a CNN camera crew that was covering the killing of 20-year-old Daunte Wright by former police Officer Kim Potter. The media members were pelted with eggs, and one CNN employee was knocked off his feet after being hit in the head with a water bottle on Wednesday.

While covering the fourth day of protests over the death of Wright, a CNN crew was harassed and assaulted by some of the people participating in the demonstration. Video taken by Washington Examiner reporter Nic Rowan shows a member of the CNN crew being struck in the head with a water bottle, which caused him to fall to the ground.

Some of the protesters mocked and laughed at the man being injured, "A bottle of water knocked you out?" Another person ridiculed the man by saying he was "fainting from some water."

Some demonstrators called for a medic to attend to the CNN employee, but he got up and said, "I'm fine. It's all good, people. No worries."

Footage from the tense scene shows protesters chase away the CNN crew. Someone in the crowd screams, "Get the f*** out of here!" Eggs were hurled at the CNN crew as they briskly walked to their car to escape the mob that was following them.

"We're leaving. We don't want any trouble," the man who was hit with the water bottle told the crowd. The vehicle was battered with eggs as they drove away.
