Liberals and celebrities suffer complete meltdowns over Trump being reinstated on Twitter: 'How many Americans will die'

Twitter CEO Elon Musk reinstated the official account of former President Donald Trump. The reinstatement of the former president of the United States caused liberals and celebrities to suffer a complete meltdown.

Musk ran a poll asking Twitter users if Trump should be reinstated on Twitter. The 24-hour Twitter poll resulted in 51.8% of users voting "Yes" to reinstate Trump, compared to 48.2% of users saying to permanently ban Trump. More than 15 million Twitter users voted in Musk's poll.

Musk tweeted, "The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated."

Liberals and celebrities seethed over the decision to reinstate Trump on the social media platform. Reactions on Twitter from leftists viciously attacked Trump as well as Musk.

David Leavitt: "How many Americans will die because @elonmusk brought @realDonaldTrump back onto Twitter? He's Back and every American who dies because of @realDonaldTrump being back on Twitter is @ElonMusk's fault."

Filmmaker Rob Reiner: "Elon Musk is letting a man who led a violent Insurrection to overthrow the United States Government back on this platform. Letting the Lies and Disinformation continue to poison the American bloodstream."

Leftist commentator Keith Olbermann: "After this week, Terrorist Trump's $8 would constitute half of Musk's income from Twitter."

Former Clinton Secretary of Labor Robert Reich: "Memo to Elon, freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom to incite an insurrection."

Blink 182 singer Tom DeLonge: "Elon is a trail blazer holding massive insecurities. His desire to be funny, and cool is loud. He is seemingly most moved by, literally, people just liking him? It now seems like a disease to me? But supporting this racist, treasonous f*** makes me want vomit and quit Twitter."

Liberal writer Julia Ioffe: "There it is. He paid $44 billion and destroyed Twitter to reinstate Trump."

NAACP president Derrick Johnson: "Any advertiser still funding Twitter should immediately pause all advertising now."

Actress Mia Farrow: "Get blood pressure pills."

Huffington Post writer S.V. Date: "Trump was banished from Twitter not because of cancel culture, but because he attempted a coup using Twitter as a tool and THEN CONTINUED RILING UP HIS MOB EVEN AFTER IT FAILED. 2) Getting back on Twitter will remind many people what a dangerous, unhinged president he was.”

Rep. Liz Cheney: "With Trump back on Twitter, it’s a good time to watch this Jan 6 hearing. It covers each of Trump’s tweets that day, including those that have been deleted, and features multiple Trump WH staff describing his inexcusable conduct during the violence."

Actress Bette Midler: "WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? This a**hole is going to give that lying sack of s**t another crack at the brass ring! Vote NO to reinstate him on TWITTER!"

TV producer Andrew Kimmel: "Elon Musk is a c***."

Democratic activist Scott Dworkin: "@realDonaldTrump belongs in prison not on Twitter. This is bulls**t."

Leftist activist Shannon Coulter: "Just emailed the head of safety at Apple and Google respectively to ask if their app stores will continue to carry the Twitter app now that Elon Musk has reinstated Donald Trump."

ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt: "For @elonmusk to allow Donald Trump back on Twitter, ostensibly after a brief poll, shows he is not remotely serious about safeguarding the platform from hate, harassment and misinformation. As we've said before, Trump used Twitter to foment intolerance, issue threats and incite a violent attack against the US government. Moreover, he has shown no indication that he would do anything different if given the opportunity. When @ADL and other #StopHateforProfit leaders met with Elon Musk on 11/1, he committed to not replatform anyone, regardless of stature, until he installed a transparent, clear process that took into consideration the views of civil society. @elonmusk's decisions over the last month have been erratic and alarming, but this decision is dangerous and a threat to American democracy. We need to ask — is it time for Twitter to go?"

Elon Musk reinstates Donald Trump on Twitter, but former president pours doubt on return

Elon Musk announced on Saturday night that he would reinstate Donald Trump's account on Twitter. The Twitter CEO made the announcement following an online poll that the billionaire posted to the social media platform.

After being banned from Twitter nearly two years ago, Trump will be permitted to reclaim his popular and effective Twitter account.

Musk tweeted, "The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei."

"Vox Populi, Vox Dei" is a Latin phrase meaning "the voice of the people is the voice of God."

Musk made the decision to reinstate Trump after a 24-hour Twitter poll resulted in 51.8% of users voting "Yes" to reinstate Trump versus 48.2% of users saying to permanently ban the former president of the United States. More than 15 million Twitter users voted in Musk's poll.

Trump was banned from Twitter in January 2021. Twitter declared that Trump was permanently suspended from Twitter "due to the risk of further incitement of violence" surrounding the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol building.

However, Trump gave the impression earlier in the day that he was unlikely to return to Twitter even if he was reinstated.

Trump made a video appearance at the Republican Jewish Coalition meeting in Las Vegas on Saturday.

When asked about returning to Twitter, Trump stated, "I don’t see it because I don’t see any reason for it."

Trump said he'll "be staying" on his Truth Social platform.

He noted that there are "a lot of problems at Twitter."

Trump said he "likes" Musk, and that he purchased Twitter.

Trump said of Musk, "He's a character. I tend to like characters. He's smart."

Trump believed that engagement on Truth Social is "much better " than Twitter.

Glenn Beck interviewed Trump on Election Day and asked if he plans to return to Twitter.

"You know, I have something that I think you're familiar with," Trump told Beck. "I have something called 'Truth [Social],' and Truth has been amazing. Actually, I like it better ... and I own Truth also, to be honest with you. So, it's become quite valuable. We have, you know, millions of people on there — millions — and it's gaining rapidly."

This is a breaking news story and will be updated with any new details.

Donald Trump says Glenn Beck will be 'very happy' about THIS big announcement

During an appearance on BlazeTV's live coverage of the 2022 midterm elections Tuesday, former President Donald Trump repeatedly dodged host Glenn Beck's questions about a potential White House run in 2024, but ultimately hinted at an upcoming "big announcement" that he said would make Glenn "very happy."

Glenn asked Trump if he plans to return to Twitter now that Elon Musk owns the social media platform, which permanently banned the former president in January 2021.

"You know, I have something that I think you're familiar with," Trump said to Glenn. "I have something called 'Truth [Social],' and Truth has been amazing. Actually, I like it better ... and I own Truth also, to be honest with you. So, it's become quite valuable. We have, you know, millions of people on there — millions — and it's gaining rapidly."

Glenn used the segway to ask if Trump would be using Truth Social or any other platform to announce that he will be running for president in 2024, referencing the "big announcement" Trump teased on Monday.

But Trump wasn't taking the bait. "I really like Truth. It's growing so beautifully and honestly ... the Democrats are thrilled that I have that name," he said.

Glenn tried again, asking, "So when you announce that you're running for president next week ... you'll just be using Truth?"

"So here's the good news," Trump said, expertly avoiding the real question. "They really want me. I really had a big impact on Twitter because, you know, when I went on Twitter 12 years ago when it was a nothing, failing platform, and then it became very, very successful. ... Elon wants me to go back on, but I don't see myself going back on it."

"So, let me try one more time," Glenn said. "Are you announcing that you're going to be running for president next week?"

"I'm going to announce that I think you're going to be very happy," Trump replied.
