VIDEO: Truck drives through activists protesting for abortion rights in Iowa

Social media videos captured the moment a black truck drove through pro-abortion protesters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Friday.

It was unclear what precipitated the altercation but videos showed numerous protesters hanging on to the truck as it tried to drive through their protest.

"A man in a truck just ran down two peaceful protesters at the pro-abortion rally in Cedar Rapids," tweeted writer Lyz Lenz from the protest. "Everyone seems to be okay. One woman had her foot run over. But it was terrifying."

Lenz posted a photo of the truck that included the license plate, allowing online sleuths to track down the owner of the vehicle.

She also posted one of the videos of the incident:

Here is some more video of the incident at the protest. Protestors are sharing the video and pictures with me. pic.twitter.com/1HWHqIasfQ

Ashley Vanorny, a member of the Cedar Rapids City Council, said she was there and tweeted about what she witnessed.

"Tonight a truck jumped traffic + plowed into peaceful protestors crossing the pedestrian walkway at the Federal Courthouse. I was walking along side them—the crowd included children alongside me," she claimed.

Cedar Rapids Police said at least one person was injured by the truck but that the injuries were minor.

Iowa was one of the states that passed laws offering some immunity to drivers who injure protesters when their cars have been blocked off during the protest.

Protests erupted across the country after the U.S. Supreme Court issued a judgement overturning the landmark Roe v. Wade decision establishing the right to abortion in 1973. Legal experts have admitted for decades that the rationale for the original decision was flimsy and poorly argued.

Critics of the judgment accuse the conservative justices of deceiving Congress about their intention and willingness to overturn the key decision. Democrats have vowed to fight to pass laws to reestablish abortion rights but most pundits believe their political power will be significantly lessened in the midterm elections.

Jen Rubin gets hammered online for claiming a state can now 'execute' a woman who gets an abortion

Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin was criticized and mocked online after she claimed that women could now be "executed" by a state after the Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade decision.

Rubin tweeted her bizarre claim and was immediately lambasted for it.

"[A] state can now execute a woman for refusing to submit to a forced birth even if the 'abortion' is within hours of conception. barbarism," she tweeted Friday.

She added in a second tweet, "senators cheering the decision are supporting states' power to criminalize all abortions in all situations. This is radical, inhumane and intolerable in a free society."

Here's a sampling of the responses to Rubin's tweet:

"While I respect the enthusiasm you have thinking you can wish nonsense into existence, and I certainly hate to burst your crazy little bubble, but literally none of that is true," read one tweet.

"[I]t's wildly irresponsible for WaPo opinion writers, even less credible ones like Rubin, to spread this type of misinformation," responded Liz Wolfe of Reason.

"There’s something seriously wrong with you," replied radio talk host Jason Rantz.

Others pointed out that Rubin had previously argued against Democrats about elective abortions not being women's health.

Some just responded with confusion.

"What on God's earth are you talking about?" said David Harsanyi of the Federalist.

Many pro-abortion supporters have taken to the streets Friday to protest against the decision by the Supreme Court to overturn federal abortion rights in the United States. Some Democrats have responded by saying they will "defy" the U.S. Supreme Court while others have come very close to calling for violence to meet their political goal of defending abortion rights.

Rubin has been touted by the Washington Post as their "conservative" columnist, but many on the right reject that identification given her constant haranguing and criticism of conservative politicians and policies.

Ana Navarro cites her disabled relatives to defend abortion and people are horrified

People were horrified when commentator Ana Navarro used her disabled relatives as an example to defend abortion after she was challenged about her Catholic faith.

Navarro made the comments in a debate with Alice Stewart on CNN Friday after the Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade decision.

"Just yesterday, you cant but be struck by the contrast, just yesterday the Supreme Court ruled down the concealed weapon issue in New York and said it was not a states' rights," Navarro argued.

"So apparently states are allowed to regulate my uterus but not guns that kill people," she added. "So I have a very hard time with the inconsistency and cherry picking of what makes states' rights."

Stewart pushed back on that argument.

"Look no one has spoken up in the last fifty years for the unborn child for the sanctity of life, and now, people have had the opportunity to speak up for the unborn child and that's important," she said.

"Look, I know Anna is a woman of faith, she has a huge heart, she is very passionate, but also I know that the Catholic faith believes in life and supports the sanctity of life. I don't understand how you can say on one hand you support life, yet you're fine with a woman's decision to choose abortion," Stewart added before being interrupted.

"And I am not anybody to tell you what you need to do with your life or your uterus!" Navarro snapped.

"And because I have a family with a lot of special needs kids. I have a brother who's 57, and has the mental and the motor skills of a one-year-old. And I know what that means financially, emotionally, physically, for a family, and I know not all families can do it," she added.

"And I have a step-granddaughter who was born with Downs syndrome, and you know what? It is very difficult in Florida to get services. It is not as easy as it sounds on paper and I've got another, another step-grandson who is very autistic, who has autism," she continued.

"Mothers, and people in that society in that community will tell you that they've considered suicide because that's how difficult it is to get help. Because that's how lonely they feel. Because they can't get other jobs, because they have financial issues, because of the care that they are unable to give their other children," Navarro said.

Navarro went on to claim that she could compartmentalize her Catholic beliefs away from her political support for abortion.

"And so why can I be Catholic and still think it is a wrong decision? Because I'm American. I'm Catholic inside the church, I'm Catholic when it comes to me. But there's a lot of Americans who are not Catholic and they're not Christian, and they're not Baptist," she said.

"And you have no damn right to tell them what they should do with their bodies!" she concluded. "Nobody does!"

Many people online were horrified to infer that Navarro was implying disabled people were better off dead than to be born into families that might struggle caring for them.

"What @ananavarro said today about children with special needs is absolutely reprehensible. These kids deserve to be loved, not aborted," replied one critic.

"We are appalled by @ananavarro’s reprehensible comments. Children with autism and Down Syndrome are gifts from God who deserve to live," responded the account for Miami Young Conservatives.

"Putting aside how one feels about abortion, do you think their lives hold no value? Would your family be better off without them? How do you go on television and imply this about your family members or those like them?" said another critic.

Navarro was previously a Republican commentator, but she has become a vocal critic of the right after the rise of former President Donald Trump.

Parkland survivor tries to delete CLUELESS tweet about SCOTUS justices — but the internet is forever

Today, the Supreme Court of the United States overturned its controversial 1973 Roe v. Wadeopinion, concluding that there is no constitutional right to an abortion.

"The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled; and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives," the syllabus of the decision reads.

As expected, the leftist outrage erupted instantaneously, fueled largely by the misinformed idea that overturning Roe v. Wade means abortion will be banned nationwide. But, as stated in the above-mentioned Supreme Court syllabus, the authority has actually been returned to individual states and their duly elected lawmakers.

One such misinformed leftist, Parkland shooting survivor Cameron Kasky, was infuriated that those awful Supreme Court justices "just voted to kill women." So he took to Twitter to urge people to go to the homes of said Supreme Court justices to "let them know how you feel."

"Go to the home of every Supreme Court justice who just voted to kill women. Let them know how you feel," Kasky tweeted.

“@cameron_kasky Might as well let everyone see your tweet”

The backlash was immediate:

“@cameron_kasky I'm pro-choice. Understand that this is how you got to this ruling. Intimidating judges never ends well. Fight this by protesting at the Supreme Court. If you promote people going to a private home, you will lose more. 🤔”

Kasky decided to delete his original tweet because he is apparently "sick of republicans talking to [him]." But, unfortunately for Kasky, the internet is indeed forever:

Speaking from the White House, President Joe Biden dutifully helped spread the misinformation about the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, and took the opportunity to prompt voters to elect more Democrats in November so that Congress can write abortion protections into law. Did the president just let slip the real reason Congress hasn't made any effort to start writing such laws in the nearly two months since Justice Samuel Alito's draft opinion was "leaked" in early May?

Watch the video below:

“Joe Biden on Dobbs:"Today, the Supreme Court of the United States expressly took away a constitutional right from the American people that it had already recognized. They didn’t limit it. They simply took it away."”
