'Some people come up to me crying': Karine Jean-Pierre calls herself a 'historic figure,' who 'cannot fail'

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called herself a "historic figure," who "cannot fail" in recent interviews with correspondents assigned to cover the White House.

This week, Jean-Pierre gave an interview to theGrio – a self-described media network "focused on the African American community" and to amplify "black culture."

Gerren Keith Gaynor – a White House Correspondent for theGrio – interviewed Jean-Pierre for an article on the site titled: "Karine Jean-Pierre talks having ‘swag’ and the hardest job in the White House."

Jean-Pierre told Gaynor, "Ron Klain, the former chief of staff, used to say to me, 'You have the hardest job in this building.'" She added, "It is not for everyone."

Gaynor wrote, "Speaking for the president sometimes includes defending him and his record when challenged by the press or others. Though it’s a position one could easily find daunting, Jean-Pierre acknowledged that her confidence, or as theGrio puts it, her 'swag' in the role has grown over time."

The glowing article says Jean-Pierre "often spends hours preparing for briefings with her team of 12 staffers and Biden-Harris administration officials to craft messaging to White House reporters and, by proxy, the American people."

Jean-Pierre proclaimed that she is a "historic figure."

The White House secretary declared, "This is a historic administration. I'm a historic figure, and I certainly walk in history every day."

Jean-Pierre said she represents "the black community, the Caribbean community, the LGBTQ community" as White House press secretary, adding, "And it is incredibly important to me that I do that well."

Jean-Pierre said of the LGBTQ community, "This is a community that we love, and we make it very clear that this is a community that we’re going to fight for."

In another friendly interview with a White House correspondent, Jean-Pierre said she "cannot fail."

April Ryan, another White House correspondent for theGrio, said to Jean-Pierre, "You are fighting every day. How do you fight and still remain composed and fight in the midst of people trying to erase you and people trying to make you feel like you should not be there?"

Jean-Pierre responded, "Because I have to. I have to. We are so stereotyped. And I cannot fail. It’s not an option."

"It is so important for black women to lead. It is so important for us to be in those positions. It’s so important for people, other people, to see us in those positions," Jean-Pierre said at the "Black Women Lead" conference on Wednesday, according to The Hill.

Jean-Pierre asserted that the LGBTQ community is "literally" under attack.

"There’s a lot of things happening in this country, a lot of things. It is unprecedented. It is scary," she said. "We are in Pride month where the LGBTQ+ community is under attack, literally. We just mentioned all the communities that I represent: black, queer, immigrant, and it is tough. It is tough being at the podium and having to talk about these issues that affect everything that I am."

Jean-Pierre claimed, "Some people come up to me crying. Some people come up to me and just say thank you. I don’t even — some people even say I don’t even know what you say at the podium but just seeing you it’s just amazing. It’s the pride. It’s the pride. It’s the pride and never thinking we would get here.”

Asked about Los Angeles Democrats' racist remarks, Jean-Pierre blasts ... 'MAGA Republicans'?

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked about the recent scandal involving three Los Angeles City Council members who were caught on tape having a conversation that was chock-full of ugly racist remarks. While the councilmembers heard in the now-leaked recording were all Democrats, Jean-Pierre somehow turned her answer into yet another opportunity to bash "MAGA Republicans."

"The president is glad to see that one of the participants in that conversation has resigned but they all should," Jean-Pierre said of Council President Nury Martinez who announced she is resigning as council president on Monday but is still a member of the city council.

"The language that was used and tolerated during that conversation was unacceptable, and it was appalling," she continued. "They should all step down, and here's the difference between Democrats and MAGA Republicans. When a Democrat says something racist or anti-Semitic, we would, we hold them, we hold Democrats accountable. When a MAGA Republican says something racist and, or anti-Semitic, they are embraced by cheering crowds and become celebrated and sought after endorsements."

On "The News & Why It Matters," BlazeTV host Sara Gonzales and guests Carol Roth and Grant Stinchfield could easily think of several Democrats who have made racist and anti-Semitic comments without any kind of accountability at all. Even the one council member who did resign only resigned from the position of president, not from the Los Angeles legislative body, while Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom remains silent on the entire scandal. Also, who the heck are these "MAGA Republicans" being celebrated and embraced by cheering crowds for being racists?

Watch: White House press secretary can't answer if Biden administration colluded with big tech to censor Americans on social media

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was dumbfounded when asked about the Biden administration's alleged collusion with big tech.

High-ranking officials in the Biden administration worked hand in hand with influential social media companies to censor content that was deemed "misinformation," according to emails revealed this week. The government identified "examples of problematic content," and social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter would remove the posts, said the emails obtained in a lawsuit by Republican attorneys general Erich Schmitt of Missouri and Jeff Landry of Louisiana.

The big tech companies would engage in "regular chats" with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to identify and remove so-called "misinformation."

The lawsuit stated that “dozens of federal officials across at least eleven federal agencies" engaged in a "massive, sprawling federal 'Censorship Enterprise,;" with the "intent and effect of pressuring social-media platforms to censor and suppress private speech that federal officials disfavor."

Schmitt said, "Beyond DOJ, Meta identified 32 additional federal officials including White House Officials who communicated with them, and YouTube identified 11 federal officials including White House Officials who communicated with them, many of whom were not disclosed by DOJ."

On Friday, Fox Business White House correspondent Edward Lawrence asked Jean-Pierre, "On social media companies, did the administration give Twitter and Facebook talking points over flagging what the president describes as misinformation?"

As she thumbed through her notes at the podium, the perplexed Jean-Pierre instructed Lawrence to repeat his question, "Say that one more time."

Lawrence reiterated, "Has the administration helped Twitter and Facebook with talking points about what the administration believes is misinformation or how much coordination is there between the administration and social media companies?"

Jean-Pierre couldn't answer the question.

"So, I–I–I don’t have anything to share with you on that. I’m not going to comment on that right at this time," the White House press secretary said during the briefing.

The reporter added, "The attorneys general from Missouri and Louisiana say there's a 'vast censorship enterprise across a multitude of agencies.'"

Jean-Pierre cut off Lawrence and said, "I'm just not going to comment at this time."

It was a difficult week for Jean-Pierre.

The White House press secretary was befuddled by a question about unvaccinated migrants and Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic from Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy. Legacy media reporters called out Jean-Pierre for saying that President Joe Biden's prime-time speech wouldn't be "political." She was accused of spreading revisionist history regarding former President Donald Trump wanting to close schools during the pandemic. Jean-Pierre called MAGA Republicans such as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis an "extreme threat to democracy, and called Trump supporters "fascists."
