Joe Rogan denies censorship rumor after his podcast with Alex Jones disappears, then his explanation gets deleted too

Spotify listeners said that a recently published podcast by Joe Rogan with an interview of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones disappeared from their app, leading many to believe it had been censored. Later Rogan said that it was due to a technical glitch, and then that explanation disappeared as well.

Rogan is one of the world's most popular podcasters, but liberal employees at Spotify bristled when he signed a reportedly $100 million deal to move his popular podcast to their platform.

On Wednesday listeners reported on social media that podcast #1555 with Jones had vanished from their apps.

Many were concerned that the company had censored the episode in order to appease liberal critics of Rogan and Jones. Hours later, the episode reappeared without an explanation from Spotify.

On Thursday, Rogan himself explained in an Instagram post that the deletion of the podcast had been a technical error.

"The conspiracy about the show with the conspiracy theorist.... The episode that was uploaded to Spotify had some cache issues, and it wasn't working correctly on some devices so the engineers had Jamie re-upload it with the same date, thinking it would fix the problem but still play for everyone like it was never missing. Didn't quite work out perfect, which led to my phone getting hit up by people thinking it was removed."

Then that Instagram post disappeared.

Bloomberg reported that employees had criticized the podcast episode over comments made by Jones against vaccination, but that Spotify stood its ground on allowing the episode to remain published.

On Thursday, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek defended the podcast with Alex Jones in an interview with the Financial Times.

"We want creators to create. It's what they do best. We're not looking to play a role in what they should say," he said.

TheBlaze has reached out to both Spotify and Joe Rogan for comment but neither responded in time for publication.

Joe Rogan shreds social media's censoring of 'accurate' Hunter Biden laptop allegations

Podcaster Joe Rogan says the social media crackdown on the Hunter Biden laptop allegations is disturbing and wrong.

What's a brief history here?

Hunter has been under scrutiny after the contents of laptops that purportedly belonged to him went public through a computer store owner in his home state of Delaware.

The contents reportedly included emails appearing to confirm clandestine foreign business dealings between his father and the Ukraine.

The New York Post was the first to report on the findings, and Twitter responded in kind by suspending the outlet from using its account. At the time of this reporting, the account still appears to be locked up as the Post reportedly refuses to delete the reports from its feed.

Former vice president and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has denied all allegations regarding overseas family business involvement.

What are the details?

According to the Washington Examiner, Rogan blasted Twitter and Facebook as well as traditional media outlets for what he says was a mishandling of the laptop allegations.

During a recent episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience," the pragmatic show host explained that the New York Post — which broke the news of the laptop allegations — and its reporting was accurate.

"The Post, what they printed and put out there, is accurate," he began.

Alex Jones of Infowars, who appeared on the episode, argued that the proof is in the pudding when it comes to the Delaware repair shop's owner.

"They have the receipts," Jones argued.

What else?

New York Post editor Sohrab Ahmari spoke with Fox News on Wednesday night, and said that Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is guilty of blackmail in attempting to force the New York-based outlet to remove its reporting from the social media platform.

According to Fox News, Ahmari's remarks were prompted by an exchange between Dorsey and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) during a hearing before the Senate Commerce Committee.

"Dorsey explained that the Post is not technically locked out, because it can go back and delete the original post from two weeks ago announcing the Hunter Biden laptop story, and repost it today because the site's 'terms of service' have since changed."

Speaking with the network's Martha MacCallum, Ahmari argued, "I say that sounds like high-tech racketeering. We're being blackmailed the way an old mob boss would do."

He later added that Dorsey as well as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg clearly have "too much control over what we see and what we think."

"Neither Mr. Joe Biden or Mr. Hunter Biden has denied the authenticity of the emails," he continued. "Neither has denied the ownership of the laptop. Now we have an on-the-record source on one of the threads that we reported out saying 'Yes, they're real.' Again, what policy have we violated and what will happen if the only journalism that is allowed is journalism that the subject of the story permits?"
