'One of the greatest' teammates ever: Aaron Rodgers is a great friend and huge mental health advocate, says former teammate

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling heaped praise on quarterback Aaron Rodgers, saying that the controversial figure is one of the greatest teammates he's ever had.

Two-time Super Bowl Champion Valdes-Scantling was a teammate of Rodgers for the first four years of his career with the Green Bay Packers before moving on to the Chiefs where he has seen great success.

While on the "Zach Gelb Show," the CBS Sports Radio host asked the receiver about the perception that has been painted of Rodgers due to his media presence on several dividing issues.

"What kind of teammate was he?" Gelb asked.

"Man, he’s one of the greatest you’ll ever find. He cares more about his teammates than about the game of football. You know, I think that’s something that people really don’t understand. Because people get this perception of him that he’s this diva or all about himself, that’s the furthest thing from the truth."

Rodgers has been a strong mental health advocate in the past, one of the reasons he has openly been against vaccine mandates and lockdowns. He has been at odds with Dr. Anthony Fauci, who was at one point the head of the United States coronavirus task force.

"If science is Dr. Fauci, you're damn right I'm defying science," Rodgers said in October 2023.

Valdes-Scantling said that Rodgers has helped him with his mental health, explaining that even though they are high-level athletes and public figures, they have many of the same mental hurdles as anyone else.

"Aaron has taught me so much on the field and off the field, he's a big advocate of mental health and how you approach life, and not even just football, the things he's gone through over the years, he shares that."

Valdes-Scantling added that not only does Rodgers routinely send him text messages to congratulate him or to tell him that he is proud of his accomplishments but that he has shared his perspective on many of his ongoing controversial opinions.

Rodgers has not been shy about hitting back at media members who have pushed certain narratives, even having a very public feud with late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Their disagreements even culminated in Kimmel threatening to sue Rodgers over comments he made surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein list related to child sex trafficking.

In addition, Rodgers has mocked Valdes-Scantling's teammate, Travis Kelce, for his vaccine advocacy, coining the name "Mr. Pfizer" due to the player appearing in advertisements for the pharmaceutical company.

Valdes-Scantling won both of his Super Bowls with the Chiefs, in 2022 and 2023.

RFK Jr. to announce VP pick later this month

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is slated to announce his running mate at an event on March 26.

"On Tuesday March 26th, in Oakland, California, I will announce the partner that I've chosen to help lead America into a brighter vision of peace, prosperity and unity," Kennedy tweeted on Wednesday.

— (@)

The New York Times reported that Kennedy confirmed Tuesday that Aaron Rodgers and Jesse Ventura top his list.

The outlet reported that Kennedy noted he has been talking with Rodgers "pretty continuously" during the past month and had been in communication with Ventura since Ventura introduced him at a February event in Arizona.

The New York Times reported that Ventura's son Tyrel noted in a Tuesday email, "No one has officially asked Gov. Ventura to be a vice-presidential candidate so the governor does not comment on speculation."

"Hiking with @AaronRodgers12 and his amazing Achilles," Kennedy wrote in a tweet last month when sharing a photo of himself with Rodgers, an NFL player who experienced a complete tear of an Achilles tendon last year.

— (@)

"I support ALL 3rd Party and Independent candidates running for U.S. President this year, from @CornelWest to @DrJillStein to @RobertKennedyJr and everyone else not running under the Democrat and Republican Party banner," Ventura, a former Minnesota governor, tweeted last month.

"We must end the duopoly of Republican and Democrat control in Washington. Electing a third party or independent candidate for President would be a major kickstart to that process but in order to do that you have to have ballot access. That is why this Monday, February 5th at the Fox Theatre in Tucson, AZ I'll be introducing @RobertKennedyJr at a voter rally to get him on the ballot," Ventura noted.

— (@)

Last year, Kennedy launched a bid for the Democratic presidential nomination but later switched to an independent run. In the 2024 presidential contest, he likely has little chance of defeating former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden. Trump is the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee, while Biden is the presumptive 2024 Democratic presidential nominee.

Joe Rogan has two words for anyone angry about disastrous COVID response — and the Dems won't like it

During a recent episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience" with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, podcast host Joe Rogan had two words of advice for all the people who lost businesses and were otherwise negatively affected by lockdowns and draconian mandates in response to COVID-19: "Vote Republican."

"I hope there's lessons learned in this, because this is a new thing. We had never had this before. No one who is alive today had ever experienced a true pandemic," Rogan said. "And I’m hoping that, now that this is over, people are going to, you know, recognize that some serious errors were made and not repeat those. That’s the best you can get out of it."

"So what do you tell those people?" Rodgers asked.

"Vote Republican," Rogan answered without hesitation.

"That's what a lot of them are going to do anyway," Rogan added. "I mean, more than a million people transferred over to the Republican Party, I think, in 2021 alone [...].

"You look at guys like Ron DeSantis, who kept Florida open and had some pretty reasonable policies about what to do about COVID. And, you know, he mapped it out on television. He was, you know, widely criticized for this, where he was saying we need to protect our elders. We need to, you know, make sure medical care is available for those people, and everyone else, you should be able to do whatever you want to do and protect your freedom."

On "Fearless with Jason Whitlock," BlazeTV host Jason Whitlock discussed Aaron Rodgers' headline-making interview with Rogan, calling the Green Bay quarterback and reigning NFL MVP "the most dangerous and important man in professional sports."

"In his discussion with Rogan, Rodgers began the process of unpacking the COVID duplicity the NFL unleashed on its players and employees at the behest of Big Pharma," Jason said.

\u201cThat's my quarterback! @AaronRodgers12\u201d
— Jason Whitlock (@Jason Whitlock) 1661698650

"That's my quarterback," he added. "I freaking love Aaron Rodgers. I have not always loved Aaron Rodgers, but I'm sorry, I am team Aaron Rodgers 1000%. This guy has a pair. He is very, very dangerous for the NFL and corporate media. They don't like him. I love him."

'Anti-vaxxer' Aaron Rodgers' playoff loss sparks celebration among Occupy Democrats, other rabid leftists: 'America needed this'

After Green Bay Packers superstar Aaron Rodgers ripped President Joe Biden last week — the latest sociopolitical critique from the outspoken quarterback now known for defying vaccine mandates and standing up to cancel culture and woke bullies — leftists far and wide were hoping for one thing Saturday: for Rodgers and the Packers to lose their playoff game to the San Francisco 49ers.

It seemed like a pipe dream. Green Bay usually is a graveyard for visiting teams, and Rodgers has been having an MVP-caliber season.

But alas, Rodgers and the Packers managed to cough up the game on a last-second field goal — and on cue, leftists cut loose on Rodgers in a kind of rabid unity, posting delirious, sarcastic tweets as if they won the game instead of the Niners.

What did the leftists have to say?

Seriously, when was the last time you observed Occupy Democrats get so excited about a football score?

BREAKING: Anti-vaxxer quarterback Aaron Rodgers just lost to San Francisco 49ers and got eliminated from the NFL playoffs. RT IF YOU THINK THAT THIS IS GOOD RIDDANCE!

"BREAKING: Anti-vaxxer quarterback Aaron Rodgers just lost to San Francisco 49ers and got eliminated from the NFL playoffs," the leftist outfit tweeted. "RT IF YOU THINK THAT THIS IS GOOD RIDDANCE!"

And the venom was still spewing the next day. Daily Beast columnist Wajahat Ali sure was enjoying the extended Rodgers "roasting," apparently seeing it as a salve for the nation's woes:

Twitter is still roasting Aaron Rodgers. I love it. America needed this. #ByeAaron
— Wajahat Ali (@Wajahat Ali) 1642965128

"Twitter is still roasting Aaron Rodgers. I love it," Ali wrote, adding a "ByeAaron" hashtag. "America needed this."

And Robert Reich — perhaps relieved attention had shifted after his deleted tweet days before about Democrats giving Kyrsten Sinema the "backs of their hands" over the filibuster — was suddenly standing tall with sports knowledge:

Just a reminder: Colin Kaepernick led the 49ers to three victories over Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

Here's a sampling of other reactions from left-wing foot soldiers carrying Twitter's coveted blue checkmark:

Oh, but we've long since had a retort from Rodgers

If the giddy leftists reveling in Rodgers' loss hope they're somehow getting to him and contributing to twisting the knife, they may want to remind themselves that Rodgers already said they're a joke to him.

"Now the rules of the game are that you must acquiesce with the woke mob at all times," he told podcast host Pat McAfee a few months back, adding that he's "not a part of this game ... being played out by these individuals. And I see it, I hear it, but to me it's comedy."

Aaron Rodgers goes off on critics, NFL: 'If science can't be questioned,' then it's 'propaganda'

Star Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers delivered another juicy sound bite on "The Pat McAfee Show" Tuesday afternoon, declaring to his critics that "if science can't be questioned," it's "propaganda."

The future Hall of Famer — who is notably not vaccinated against COVID-19 — also raised eyebrows during his weekly interview on McAfee's show when he blasted the NFL's "two-class system" for vaccinated and unvaccinated players and alleged that "behind closed doors," the league is actually discussing many of the same treatment options that he has championed.

“I do know behind the scenes, this is 100% true, there are many teams who are using or recommending a lot of the same treatments that I got for their players,” Rodgers said. “There are treatments being talked about behind closed doors, but publicly, I don’t understand why we can’t talk about treatments.”

Shortly after, Rodgers slammed the NFL's lack of support for alternative solutions aside from the vaccine, saying, “If science can’t be questioned, it’s not science any more — it’s propaganda."

“That’s the truth," Rodgers said. "When someone comes out with a scientific study, what do they always say? They say it’s a peer review. What does that mean? It means people in the same field have gone through it, questioned the hypothesis, questioned the research, and looked it up to see if this research stands up. That’s what science is all about.”

— Pat McAfee (@Pat McAfee) 1640721414

Rodgers has become the subject of cancel-culture fury in recent weeks ever since news broke that he had contracted the virus and was unvaccinated. The "woke mob" vitriol only increased after the Green Bay Packer revealed that, once infected, he consulted with Joe Rogan and used ivermectin to treat his infection. Rodgers has claimed that he is allergic to some of the ingredients in the mRNA vaccines.

Following his speedy recovery from the virus, Rodgers began to use his voice to scrutinize the NFL and the public health community at large for solely pushing vaccine mandates rather than messaging about general health and well-being and various treatment options for the infected.

Starting this season, the NFL rolled out stringent COVID-19 guidelines for unvaccinated players, subjecting them to daily testing, required mask-wearing, and lengthy forced quarantines upon contraction of the virus. The goal was clearly to coerce players to get vaccinated.

"The one frustration that I have in all of this is that throughout this entire time, there hasn’t been a real conversation around health, as far as giving people things to think about like how to be healthier, as far as your diet, and vitamins and exercise," Rodgers said last week on McAfee's show.

"The other thing that hasn't been talked about is treatments," he added. "I've talked to a lot of friends who had COVID, including Joe [Rogan], and figured out a protocol that I had ready in case I got COVID."

On this Tuesday's show, Rodgers again criticized the NFL for continuing to operate under a "two-class system" and message that unvaccinated players are the ones causing league-wide spread of the pathogen.

"Vaccinated people & unvaccinated people are testing positive for Covid.. the facts of whatever science we're using here & it's changing all the time doesn't really back up having a 2 class system" ~@AaronRodgers12\n\n#PatMcAfeeShowLIVEpic.twitter.com/BOHo6zzt07
— Pat McAfee (@Pat McAfee) 1640721082

"What I don’t understand — it makes no sense to me to continue to spread this narrative that non-vaccinated players are more dangerous or these super-spreaders," Rodgers said. "I don’t understand why there is still this two-class system that exists in our league."

"There are not many unvaccinated guys left in the league, but it's obviously not a pandemic of the unvaccinated. It doesn’t make sense to me we're still punishing non-vaccinated players," he added.

Wearing an anti-cancel culture sweatshirt, Aaron Rodgers says it's time to have pandemic conversations on 'how to be healthier' and 'about legitimate COVID treatment options'

NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers says that he doesn't understand why society hasn't had a conversation about viable treatment options for COVID-19 and how general good health is important amid the ongoing pandemic.

Rodgers went on TV wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt — on which was a strikethrough version of the phrase "cancel culture" — during his weekly appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show."

What are the details?

Rodgers appeared on Tuesday's episode of "The Pat McAfee Show" and discussed the NFL's response to COVID-19 outbreaks and health protocols for those who came down with the virus during the season.

According to Packers News, at least 100 players tested positive last week alone, and the league has begun testing fully vaccinated players.

Rodgers pointed out that he's frustrated by the lack of public conversation about health during the pandemic.

"The one frustration that I have in all of this is that throughout this entire time, there hasn’t been a real conversation around health, as far as giving people things to think about like how to be healthier, as far as your diet, and vitamins and exercise," Rodgers said.

He continued, "The other thing that hasn't been talked about is treatments. I've talked to a lot of friends who had COVID, including Joe [Rogan], and figured out a protocol that I had ready in case I got COVID."

In November, Rodgers — during another interview with McAfee — discussed treatments to bolster one's immune system, such as zinc, vitamin C, and more.

"I believe strongly in bodily autonomy and ability to make choices for your body, not have to acquiesce to some woke culture or crazed group of individuals who say you have to do something,” he said during the November interview. “Health is not a one-size-fits-all for everybody."

During his own bout with coronavirus, Rogers said that he took ivermectin, zinc, and vitamin C and underwent monoclonal antibody treatment for COVID-19.

On Tuesday, he said that the treatments he chose to got the virus' symptoms under control within 36 hours.

"I don’t understand why society and the NFL hasn’t talked about legitimate treatment options," Rodgers said. "And monoclonal antibodies I believe is one of them."
