Adam Carolla says he's banned from Howard Stern's show due to his views on COVID: 'I was right about everything'

Adam Carolla says he's banned from Howard Stern's show due to his views on COVID: 'I was right about everything'

Radio host Adam Carolla said that he's no longer welcome on "The Howard Stern Show" because of his disagreements with the host regarding COVID-19.

On "The Adam Carolla Show," the comedian and guest host Teresa Strasser discussed a story about Howard Stern's reaction to talk show host Bill Maher. Maher critiqued Stern's love life on his podcast "Club Random," which prompted Stern to state that his friendship with Maher was over.

Stern's reaction stemmed from Maher's comments that the radio host gushes over his wife too often on his show.

"He goes on about how much he loves his wife, Beth [Stern], which he has been doing on the air for like 10 years," Maher reportedly remarked. "But we know Howard had this other wife before Beth," he added.

“Could we just not gush about the person while the other person can still hear it?” Maher said, according to the Huffington Post.

Stern responded to Maher's comments, “What a sexist thing to say! Like, what a convoluted, nutty thing to say."

“I think I’m no longer friends with him," he added.

"That didn't seem that harsh," Carolla said about the anecdote. "I think Howard's skin's getting a little thinner as he gets a little older," he added.

This prompted Strasser to ask Carolla if he had been on Stern's show in recent months.

"Have you been on his show in a while? You were great on that show!"

"No. I'm no longer welcome on that show because I was right about everything COVID," Carolla quickly replied. "So it's important that I be punished for being correct about everything COVID."

"Were you wrong about anything?" another host asked. "Not COVID-related, nothing, no ... you can bring it up," he remarked.

Carolla was one of the earliest critics of COVID-19 mandates and lockdowns, tweeting in September 2020 that it "turns out the people dying from covid are old or sick or both."

Turns out the people dying from covid are old or sick or both. How many of you pussy's got played ? and who's going to get played the next time.
— Adam Carolla (@Adam Carolla) 1598936767

After facing harsh criticism for his remarks, the comedian stood his ground. “No one appreciates being called a ‘pussy.’ I get it,” he said, according to the Wrap.

"I think the backlash has to do with ostensibly being right in many cases," he opined. “We’re living in a callous world. You guys wanna f**king close down society, you’re gonna get some callous tweets. That’s how it works.”

Stern recently defended the idea of being called "woke," saying if woke means "I can’t get behind Trump" or "that I support people who want to be transgender, or I’m for the vaccine — dude, call me woke as you f**king want!"

'Schiff just hit the fan': House Republicans poised to censure Rep. Adam Schiff

The GOP-controlled House is poised to censure Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and possibly fine him $16 million for his role in advancing the debunked Russian collusion narrative, abusing the trust afforded him as chairman of the Intelligence Committee, and for behaving "dishonestly and dishonorably."

Now, it's just a matter of getting Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna's resolution to the floor and seeing it through to a vote.

While House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) indicated he supports Luna's resolution and is "working with her on the best timing to bring it to the House Floor to help it pass," not all Republicans are on board with the current wording of the resolution.

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) indicated that if the resolution comes to the floor, he will vote against it, noting, "I'm still litigating a federal lawsuit against Pelosi over a salary reduction she imposed on me for my refusal to wear a mask. ... The Constitution says the House may make its own rules but we can't violate other (later) provisions of the Constitution. A $16 million fine is a violation of the 27th and 8th amendments."

Republicans will need to present a united front to see the resolution through, as Democrats intend to introduce a motion to table or kill the resolution and are sticking together, reported Axios.

Luna, a member of the Freedom Caucus, suggested the vote will likely be held Thursday morning.

“Looks like my vote to censure & condemn @RepAdamSchiff will likely be held Thursday morning.”
— Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (@Rep. Anna Paulina Luna) 1686676571

The resolution, introduced by the Florida congresswoman May 23, accuses Schiff of abusing the trust afforded him while serving as ranking member and then chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. It further condemns him for behaving "dishonestly and dishonorably on many other occasions."

The resolution states Schiff cited evidence of collusion between former President Donald Trump and Russia "that — as is clear from reports by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz, and Special Counsel Durham — does not exist. ... By repeatedly telling these falsehoods, Representative Schiff purposely deceived his Committee, Congress, and the American people."

Luna's resolution also drags Schiff for:

 • lending "credibility to the Steele dossier — a collection of debunked collusion accusations funded by President Trump's political rivals — by reading false Steele allegation into the Congressional Record at a HPSCI hearing on March 20, 2017";
 • abusing his privileged access to classified information by composing "a false memo justifying the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant application on trump associate Carter Page, which Inspector General Horowitz later found was riddled with 17 major mistakes and omissions, provoking FISA Court Presiding Judge Rosemary Collyer to state unequivocally that the Federal Bureau of Investigation acted to 'mislead the FISC'";
 • grossly violating Carter Page's civil liberties by smearing him "as a Russian collaborator and justifying spurious investigations of him";
 • "falsely denying that his staff coordinated with a whistleblower to launch the first impeachment of President Trump"; and
 • reciting "a false, concocted rendition of a phone call between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky."

Luna claimed Schiff owes the American people a debt, as his "lies, misrepresentations, and abuses of sensitive information" resulted in a Russian-collusion investigation that cost taxpayers $32 million.

This figure appears to reflect the cost of the two-year special counsel investigation led by Robert Mueller as indicated in an expenditures report circulated by the Department of Justice in August 2019.

To recoup this debt, Luna suggested that Schiff be fined $16 million.

Concerning the forthcoming vote on the resolution, Luna tweeted, "Schiff just hit the fan."

Schiff hit Twitter with a response Tuesday, employing a turn of phrase coined by Adolf Hitler: "Today Rep. Anna Paulina Luna introduced a resolution to censure & fine me $16 million. Authors of the big lie are attacking me for telling the truth &holding Trump accountable. This is not just an attack on me—it’s an attack on our democracy & the institution of Congress."

“ICYMI—Today Rep. Anna Paulina Luna introduced a resolution to censure & fine me $16 million.

Authors of the big lie are attacking me for telling the truth &holding Trump accountable.

This is not just an attack on me—it’s an attack on our democracy & the institution of Congress.”
— Adam Schiff (@Adam Schiff) 1686687384

After first seizing upon the Republican effort to hold him accountable as a fundraising opportunity, Schiff later told CNN that he was "flattered" by the "MAGA resolution," which he suggested was a testament to his effectiveness.

Professional PGA golfer tackled by security while trying to celebrate Nick Taylor's Canadian Open-winning, 72-foot putt

Pro-golfer Nick Taylor won the RBC Canadian Open over the weekend, marking the first time since 1954 that a Canadian pulled off the feat.

Among his countrymen who rushed to congratulate him on the green was fellow golfer Adam Hadwin, who was hampered in doing so by a security guard with skills better tailored to another sport.

The win

Taylor, a 35-year-old three-time PGA Tour winner from Winnipeg, closed Sunday at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club in Toronto with a six-under round to finish on 17-under, joining English golfer Tommy Fleetwood at the top of the leaderboard.

The two traded birdies in a four-hole playoff amid miserable conditions and sporadic renditions of the Canadian anthem from the galleries.

On the par-five 18th, Fleetwood set himself up for a 12-foot birdie opportunity, reported SBNation.

Taylor, meanwhile, had set up an unlikely 72-foot eagle putt with a 221-yard second shot from a divot in the fairway — an unlikely eagle that was to become the longest-made putt of his PGA Tour career.

The audience erupted with excitement as the putt connected and secured for Taylor the $1.62 million prize.

The hit

Taylor embraced caddie Dave Markle while pro-golfers Mike Weir and Corey Conners made their way over unmolested.

Hadwin, on the other hand, rushed out to congratulate Taylor with a frothing bottle of champagne but was stopped in his tracks by a security guard who had mistaken him for a member of the crowd.

The ensuing tackle, which served to incorporate elements of a more kinetic sport into the day, was caught on video:

— RBC Canadian Open (@RBC Canadian Open) 1686539846

Markle and others quickly intervened, clarifying that Hadwin was undeserving of lost yardage and helping the champagne-bearer to his feet.

CNN reported that Hadwin was later seen arm-in-arm with the security guard, whom tournament director Bryan Crawford indicated was just doing his job and "acting in the moment amidst a flurry of excitement and celebration on the green following one of the most iconic moments in Canadian sport."

Taylor told reporters, "Corner of my eye I saw he got a nice tackle there. ... I hope he's all right. He was upright when I saw him later, so I hope he doesn't wake up tomorrow morning with any broken ribs or anything."

Hadwin, who appears to have maintained his hold on the champagne bottle whilst falling backward, circulated an image of the hit with the caption, "Put it in the Louvre!"

— adam hadwin (@adam hadwin) 1686544468

Hadwin's wife noted on Twitter that "in true Canadian form," he had apologized to the security guard for being tackled.

Taylor's tackled peer later honed in on the hit that ultimately mattered, tweeting, "Words cannot describe the magnitude of what you just accomplished. So proud of you, @ntaylorgolf59!"

The gratitude

Taylor, who remained vertical throughout the competition — long enough to jump 15 places to 44th in the world rankings — said with tears in his eyes, "I’m speechless. This is for all the guys that are here. This is for my family at home. ... This is the most incredible feeling."

The champion added, "I think it’s a tournament that we’ve circled on our calendar since probably junior golf. Ever since I’ve been on the PGA Tour this is one that we want to do as well as we can in, and the crowd support was the most unbelievable thing I will probably ever experience in my life."

The last player from Canada to win the Canadian Open was Pat Fletcher in 1954; however, the only previous Canadian-born champion was Karl Keffer from Tottenham, Ontario, who won in both 1909 and 1914.

'If there's a Hell, I'm sure you'll be in it': Dan Bongino blasts Adam Schiff as 'a disgusting piece of garbage' whose 'family should renounce any relationship to him'

Conservative commentator Dan Bongino lambasted Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff of California, describing him as a "piece of human waste" while asserting that the congressman's relatives should renounce their relationship with him.

"This piece of human waste will do, or say, anything to abuse his power and burn this country to the ground. He's absolute garbage and he has zero dignity. People like him make the world an ugly place. He's a slob who’s family should renounce any relationship to him," Bongino wrote when retweeting a post in which the congressman discussed special counsel John Durham's report regarding the Trump-Russia investigation.

"The Durham investigation was flawed from the start. It began for a political purpose - to satisfy Trump. It resulted in two spectacular failures at trial. And ended with nothing to show for four years of effort. Bottom line: FBI had a good reason to investigate - Durham didn't," a Schiff tweet reads.

"You're a disgusting piece of garbage, and an embarrassment to this country," Bongino wrote to Schiff. "No sane person takes you seriously. The damage you've done to this country is incalculable. If there's a Hell, I'm sure you'll be in it."

— Adam Schiff (@Adam Schiff) 1684270454

Schiff announced earlier this year that he is running for U.S. Senate.

Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida has put forward a resolution to oust Schiff from the House.

"Adam Schiff lied to the American people. He used his position on House Intelligence to push a lie that cost American taxpayers millions of dollars and abused the trust placed in him as Chairman. He is a dishonor to the House of Representatives," Luna said, according to a press release. "The Durham Report makes clear that the Russian Collusion was a lie from day one and Schiff knowingly used his position in an attempt to divide our country."

'Welcome to Illinois, SATAN': Adam Kinzinger says snake dropped out of plane's wheel well after four-hour flight

Former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) said that after he had flown a four-hour flight from Texas to Illinois, a snake dropped out of the airplane's wheel well.

"Yesterday I flew from Texas to Illinois, 4 hours at 17,500. Outside temp at that altitude was -8. Landed, taxied in, and when i stopped this boy dropped out of my wheel well. Welcome to Illinois, SATAN," Kinzinger tweeted on Monday. He included several photos of the reptile.

Someone who responded to the former lawmaker said, "This is a non poisonous Texas rat snake by the way in case you were curious."

"Ya. But him hijacking my plane is, discomforting!" Kinzinger replied.

— Adam Kinzinger #fella (@Adam Kinzinger #fella) 1681746632

Kinzinger departed from office in early January after more than a decade serving in the House chamber — he did not run for re-election in 2022.

Kinzinger was one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach then-President Donald Trump in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, and he was one of the two Republican lawmakers to serve on the House Select Committee that was supposed to investigate the Jan. 6 episode. The other GOP lawmaker to serve on the panel was Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, who also left office after her term ended in early January — Cheney lost her 2022 primary to a Trump-backed challenger.

On the heels of his exit from Congress, it was announced that Kinzinger would be a CNN senior political commentator.

A pilot in South Africa recently managed to safely land after a snake came came into contact with him mid flight — the creature was a Cape cobra, a venomous type of snake.
