Border Patrol Council Official Tells CNN Biden’s Executive Order ‘Does Not Do Enough’
‘At the time, it was killed through them. Now it falls on President Biden,’ Cueto said
CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota offered Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) an opportunity to be fair regarding criticism of politicians who mishandle classified documents.
But she declined to take it.
Last September, when the government had revealed the scope of Donald Trump's retention of classified documents, Jayapal demanded the full force of the law be used against the former president.
She even went so far as to claim that Trump "stole" the documents.
"Donald Trump stole classified documents," Jayapal said. "He put not only our national security at risk, but the security and safety of our allies around the world. He must be held accountable to the full extent of the law."
During an interview on "CNN Newsroom," Camerota asked Jayapal about her tweet and whether she believes the same standard should be applied to President Joe Biden in light of classified documents being discovered in at least two areas private to him.
"Should President Biden be held to that same standard?" the CNN anchor asked. "Isn't it possible that President Biden is putting our national security at risk also?"
But immediately, Jayapal began to equivocate and defend Biden.
"I absolutely think that is why the Department of Justice has appointed the special counsel," she said.
"But again, I would just point to the fact that these documents so far that we know, what we know is that they were kept in a locked place. That was a very small number and I don't know how important these are, they might be incredibly important. They were marked top secret," she added. "But the storage and the approach to this is completely different."
Jayapal acknowledged that Biden's retention of classified documents is a "political problem for all of us as Democrats." But she tried to emphasize distinction between Biden's mishandling of classified information and Trump's. Biden, Jayapal claimed, is "cooperating completely."
However, she has no way of knowing that.
After all, the White House declined to disclose the discovery for more than two months, and when it finally admitted to the existence of classified documents inside Biden's private office, it refused to disclose the second batch of documents that had already been found at Biden's private residence.

CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota expressed shock on Tuesday over a new development in the Club Q massacre that undermines the narrative blaming Republicans for the incident.
Democrats and the media are suggesting that partial responsibility for the massacre falls at the feet of Republicans and conservative media because they oppose the progressive LGBT agenda.
While speaking on "CNN Tonight," Camerota broke news to a panel that the perpetrator of the Club Q massacre identifies as "non-binary" and uses "they/them" pronouns.
"Attorneys for the accused shooter ... say in new court filings tonight that the suspect now identifies as non-binary," Camerota explained. "In a footnote to a motion asserting legal privileges the public defenders say, quote, '[The perpetrator] is non-binary. They use 'they/them' pronouns, and for the purposes of all formal filings, will be addressed as mix-[perpetrator's name]."
The news left Camerota speechless.
"I mean, you know, I don't know if— I don't know what to say about that," she said.

By inserting the word "now" into her commentary, Camerota framed the development in a way that suggested the perpetrator only recently made the change to his gender identity. The legal filing to which she referred does not use the word "now."
Still, her framing prompted CNN political commentator Errol Louis to claim the change was made as a legal defense against hate crime charges.
"It sounds like they're trying to prepare a defense against a hate crimes charge," Louis claimed without evidence.
"That's the least of his problems legally speaking. But it looks like they're trying to build some kind of sympathy or at least confusion on the question of whether or not this was purely motivated by hate," he added.
The perpetrator faces first-degree murder and hate crime charges.
He was released from the hospital on Tuesday and was due in court on Wednesday, according to the Denver Post.
CNN's Alisyn Camerota is garnering left-wing kudos after grilling a Republican lawmaker from Texas on why his state can "protect the unborn embryo" through abortion restrictions but not "living, breathing 10-year-olds" in the wake of the mass killing of 19 children in an elementary school in Uvalde on Tuesday.
Camerota and Victor Blackwell, anchors for CNN Newsroom, on Wednesday asked Texas state Rep. James White what the Texas legislature should do in response to heartbreaking murders at Robb Elementary School.
After replying that lawmakers should let authorities conduct an investigation and then going over the timeline of the atrocity, a clearly agitated Camerota interrupted White and hit the lawmaker with a double-whammy "gotcha" question that appeared to campaign for abortion rights and gun control simultaneously.
“What we want to know is what your solution is,” Camerota said to White, adding that "we’ve all seen how quickly and creatively Texas — your local legislature — can act when it wants to ... protect the unborn embryo. Why not act with that alacrity to protect living, breathing 10-year-olds in this school behind me?”
Camerota continued in activist mode as she suggested to the lawmaker with a raised voice, "Use that same blueprint that you use for your abortion law, make there be waiting periods, make them have to come back to the scene more than once, make them have to answer questions. Why can't you protect living 10-year-olds?"
She presumably was referring to Texas' 2021 law prohibiting abortions as early as six weeks or once a fetal heartbeat is detected; it also allows lawsuits against those who perform abortions.
White replied that "we have this thing called the Constitution" and added that authorities need to pay attention to "these young men, for some reason, that have some very disturbed emotional state. We need to look at our mental health system.”
Blackwell interrupted White and asked for evidence that mental health played a role in the Uvalde massacre, telling him that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said "there is no known connection to mental health illness. The statement from the NRA — you have a 92 percent rating from the NRA, you're a lifetime member — they say that this was the act of a lone, deranged criminal. There was no evidence that there was mental illness.”
White argued back that "deranged" would seem to indicate a mental health problem and that lawmakers are going to "look at everything.”
But Blackwell — perhaps sensing White was on the ropes — interrupted him again: "Are you gonna look at the guns?"
White said yes and added that "we're going to look at the people who do these acts, we’re going to convict them, and we’re going to punish them."
An excited Camerota jumped back in and said, "You can’t convict him, sir. You can’t convict him. He was killed. He was killed, along with 19 children in the school behind me.”

After word spread about the interview, leftists on Twitter cheered loudly for Camerota and for Blackwell:
CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota lamented Wednesday that she is fresh out of ideas on how Joe Rogan should atone for his transgressions.
Rogan addressed new controversy on his podcast this week that centers on him using the N-word in old podcast episodes. The podcasts were on the internet for years but only became a problem last week.
"In a lot of ways ... all this is a relief,” Rogan said, adding that the video of him using the N-word had always been on the internet.
"This is a political hit job. And so they’re taking all this stuff that I’ve ever said that’s wrong and smushing it all together," Rogan added. "It’s good 'cause it makes me address some s**t that I really wish wasn’t out there."
Reacting to Rogan's declaration that he is the target of a "political hit job," Camerota said, "Well, I'll admit, I'm out of ideas for what to do about Joe Rogan."
"I'm officially out of ideas," she added.

Camerota's colleague, co-anchor Victor Blackwell, responded by questioning Rogan's motives for apologizing.
"I’m confused by both 'it’s always been out there, but this is a political hit job. It feels good that it's out, but then also I really need to address this,'" Blackwell said. "I mean, it seems like there are at least three different narratives that are coming here."
"Listen, I think that he's saying out loud things that we want people who are caught doing horrible things to say, which is, 'I'm going to do better, I feel ashamed of this, I'm sorry about this.' And so I think that all of that is great," Camerota responded. "I think that where there's the misalignment is that, basically he just said, 'How dumb are you if you're taking medical advice from me,' OK? I posed that same question about Joe Rogan. The people who were taking medical advice from him, how dumb are they? But he has this huge platform that does influence, you know, millions of people. So there's a misalignment between this sort of personal responsibility and the size of his platform."
In the end, Blackwell said that Rogan's COVID controversy is a "separate conversation" from his use of the N-word, but again questioned the sincerity of Rogan's apology.
"We'll see if there's accountability — not cancellation, which some people conflate — accountability," Blackwell added.
Camerota — the same CNN employee who repeatedly voiced outrage over Jeff Zucker's ouster — learned quickly that, in fact, no one was asking for her opinion on Rogan.
But if people were, critics had a poignant answer to Camerota's problem: Do your job or turn off the podcast if you do not like Rogan.
CNN's Don Lemon delivered an on-camera rant on New Year's Eve in which he told critics they can "kiss my behind" and also declared himself a "grown-ass man" whom "a lot of people hate."
Dressed in a blue sequined jacket and wearing a necklace adorned with a lemon symbol (Cause, you know, Lemon is his last name?), he stood on a stage in New Orleans — with a cup of some liquid in hand — with fellow CNN talking head Alisyn Camerota and comedian Dulcé Sloan.
And Lemon went off on his haters.
"I don’t give a [long pause] what you think about me ... I don't care. I’m a grown-ass man. I don’t care what you think about me," he said.
Lemon added, "I am who I am. I’m a grown, successful black man who a lot of people hate because they’re not used to people seeing me — and people like me — in the position that I am. To be able to share ... my point of view on television, it freaks people out. And you know what? You can kiss my behind. I do not care. I don’t care ... I have one life, and this is who I am, and I feel very, um —"
After another long pause, Sloan offered a descriptor: "Blessed!"
"Blessed," Lemon agreed. "And honored to be in this position, to be able to do this. So all the hate I get? It’s motivation to me. Bring it. I don’t care."
Ohh Don Lemon is loose off that goose! #CNNYE #NYE2021pic.twitter.com/OL4lkU0zjo— Giselle Phelps (@Giselle Phelps) 1641015876
Prior to giving his rant, Lemon popped out of a fake "lemon cake" as onlookers counted down the end of 2021 and as the clock struck midnight, Jan. 1, 2022.
Twitter users reacting to his rant did not spare Lemon in the least:
In related CNN-on-New-Year's-Eve news, popular television and radio host Andy Cohen appeared to give a drunken send-off for outgoing New York City mayor Bill de Blasio as CNN host Anderson Cooper looked on.
Lemon has been under fire over a few recent revelations and accusations:
