A journalist poet tied to the left-wing Antifa group was convicted of stabbing Proud Boy members at a Jan. 6 protest at the New York state capitol.

Alexander Contompasis was convicted by an Albany jury on Friday of first-degree assault and other charges related to the stabbing from 2021.

While the rioting at the U.S. Capitol unfolded, a fight between Trump supporters and Antifa supporters broke out at the protest as captured on surveillance video.

The Times Union obtained video of the attack and showed how a fight between Trump supporters and Antifa supporters ended in two stabbings. A person was seen on the video swinging wildly at Trump supporters before police swept in to break up the fight. The attacker walked off as the video ends.

Multiple arrests were made the incident and one of the victims suffered an eviscerated bowel. Police said they found a knife in Contompasis' car that they believed was used in the assault.

One of the victims said that he was approached by an Antifa member after he was stabbed and claimed that he said to the victim, "I'm coming for you. I know who you are. I know where you live."

The man's attorney had argued in his defense that he was just defending himself from an "unprovoked" attack by the Proud Boys.

Police later identified the man as Contompasis and charged him with the attack. Prosecutors noted that the man had published posts on social media supportive of the Antifa political group. He also identified himself as an independent journalist and a poet.

He claimed that he was not a member of Antifa.

In addition to the first-degree assault charge, he was convicted of first-degree attempted assault, second-degree assault, and felony possession of a weapon.

Contompasis could face as many as 40 years in prison for the charges when he is sentenced on November 18.

With every cowardly attack, Antifa is drawing a pretty clear picture of what the leftist militants are all about:

They like to isolate small groups of people and physically attack them using far greater numbers. They especially like to gang up on lone victims.
They aren't averse to hiding out of sight and then ambushing their targets. Killing those who don't share their beliefs isn't out of the question, either — in fact, it's celebrated.
They despise the First Amendment — except when its protections work in their favor.
After acting as the aggressors — and then getting their rear ends handed to them — Antifa militants tend to shift into the innocent-abused-victim role, screaming and shouting and howling in bewilderment as if the aggression thrown back in their faces was unprovoked.
Even when in a gang, Antifa militants will back down from one person who's demonstrated the ability to knock them around.
They're very good at running away.

Oh, almost forgot: Antifa bros also like to attack their opponents from behind. And that stomach-turning tactic was on full display after the rally supporting President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

A couple was caught on video strolling down the sidewalk with a gang of Antifa militants following them.

Then the man — an apparent Trump supporter — declares as video rolls that "Jesus Christ is coming again!"

There's a brief cut in the clip that shows the couple having moved down the sidewalk about a building's length — and then a rather large Antifa militant comes up to the man from behind and wallops him in the side of the head:

But does the leftist who hit the man stick around to finish him off? Nope. As noted above, Antifa also are very adept at running away — and that's just what this tough guy did.

Not that it deterred the victim at all, who put aside turning the other cheek for the moment and ran after his assailant:

At some other point in the proceedings the victim — after being punched in the head from behind and maced — was tackled from behind near a bicycle by yet another Antifa militant who also punched him from behind several times:

Of course, like clockwork, the assailant scoots away. The victim appears to have some sort of baton on him. Maybe it would come in handy — if his attackers ever manage the guts to come at him face to face.

It was a sometimes violent study in contrasts Saturday when a large group of supporters of President Donald Trump faced off with Antifa militants in Olympia, Washington, after numerous media outlets declared former Vice President Joe Biden the 2020 election victor.

What happened?

As chronicled on video by reporter Katie Daviscourt, Trump backers lined streets and even gathered on the steps of the state capitol to wave American and pro-Trump flags and chant "back the blue!" — a pro-police rallying cry:

Upping the ante

Soon the verbal war of words turned violent, as a brawl ensued between the groups and police responded with a flash-bang and what appeared to be rounds of non-lethal munitions.

One witness mentioned that Antifa militants were "attacking two women," and then a man bleeding from his eyebrow — presumably a Trump supporter — confirmed that Antifa attacked him as well:

A fitting response

In another clip, two pro-Trump women described the Antifa attack. One said she was punched from behind as a leftist militant tried to steal her pro-Trump flag, and the second woman said a gang of Antifa thugs jumped her.

But soon a distinct sound was heard in the background.

It was singing. A bit off-key, a tad haggard — but singing nonetheless. It was the national anthem.

That's right. The pro-Trump crowd answered the cowardice and destruction that have become Antifa's trademark with a statement of hard-won freedom and liberty — even for the likes of those who'd rather stomp all over it.

Anything else?

Should Biden take office in January, he may have to contend with more than he may have bargained for. Also on Saturday, anarchists busted windows at the Multnomah County Democrats building in Portland and spray-painted messages such as "F*** Biden" and "No Presidents" — along with the universal symbol of anarchists.

The same night in Washington, D.C., black-clad demonstrators marched toward Black Lives Matter Plaza and held a large sign that read: "FREE THE PEOPLE, FIGHT THE POWER, F*** THE POLICE – DEFUND, DISARM, DISBAND." Another sign said: "BURN DOWN THE AMERICAN PLANTATION."

The group chanted, "What do we want? Justice When do we want it? Now! If we don't get it — Burn it down! BURN. IT. DOWN!" along with, "F*** Trump! F*** Biden! No more presidents!"

In Detroit, one leftist group wasn't too thrilled with Biden, either, and chanted, "F*** Donald Trump! F*** Biden too! Both of them don't give a f*** about you!"

Deplorable demonstrators hurled vicious slurs and made heinous remarks to the faces of NYPD officers on Saturday. Malicious members of an anti-Trump and "anti-fascist" mob wished death upon the children of police officers.

There was an anti-Trump march in Manhattan on Saturday against "racism" and fascism, where the crowd chanted: "Black lives matter!" The march was organized by the United Against Racism and Fascism NYC, a self-proclaimed "broad-based coalition in NYC opposing racism & bigotry, and united in solidarity & action against fascism." The march was promoted by the "New York City Antifa" Twitter account.

At one point, the demonstration escalated, and the situation became physical. NYPD officers are seen detaining at least one person. The New York Post reported that three people were arrested as of 2 p.m. on Sunday.

SF free speech rally canceled after organizer's tooth knocked out, police escort Trump supporters away from violent mob

A free speech rally was shut down in San Francisco on Saturday after counter-protesters became violent. The situation became so dangerous for conservatives that police needed to escort them to their cars for their own safety from an angry mob.

A "Free Speech Rally Against Twitter and Big Tech" was planned for Saturday at the Federal Building at U.N. Plaza, which is near Twitter's headquarters. The event was to protest Twitter's censorship of the New York Post's article about Hunter Biden's alleged emails regarding overseas dealings.

The rally, which was organized by Team Save America, was granted a permit by the city. There was a strong police presence in the area and barricades were set up to separate the rally-goers and the counter-protesters.

"The First Amendment ensures the right to assemble for everyone and the permit process is in place to allow for planning, to minimize disruptions and to create basic safety measures," San Francisco Rec & Parks spokesperson Tamara Aparton told SFist. "The San Francisco Police Department will be implementing all safety measures for this event."

Before the 1 p.m. free speech rally kicked off, hundreds of counter-protesters assembled in the area, including a group of black-clad individuals wielding shields. Demonstrators were holding signs that read, "Smash Fascism" and "Nazi Trump F*** Off."

"They have no business being here, they're trying to build a fascist movement in this country," San Francisco resident Carol Seligman told KABC-TV.

"It's tough, I believe in free speech but I'm also anti-fascism," said Elana Thurson-Milgrom from San Francisco.

The main organizer, Philip Anderson, was attacked and punched while he was walking to the stage to deliver his speech. The counter-protesters threw bottles at Anderson while he was on stage. Anderson announced the rally was canceled.

Despite the free speech rally being canceled, police determined that the conservatives in the area were in danger after the riotous horde tried to knock down the barricades and threw glass bottles. Law enforcement provided a police escort to the conservatives, many of them wearing "Make America Great Again" hats.

San Francisco police said counter-protesters threw "plastic bottles filled with unknown liquid," metal cans and eggs at rally participants.

The San Francisco Police Department said six people were injured, including three officers who suffered non-life-threatening injuries when they were assaulted with pepper spray and caustic chemicals. One officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment, the department said.

One Trump supporter was seen being taken away in an ambulance with a leg injury.

No arrests were made, the department said.

Antifa militants gang up on woman of color, drag her to ground by her hair, try yanking American flag from her — but she doesn't let go

Antifa militants reportedly were caught on video Sunday ganging up on a woman of color and dragging her to a Portland, Oregon, sidewalk by her hair in an attempt to yank an American flag from her.

Sadly the violent left-wing militants — despite having what most would assume is a distinct physical and numerical advantage — came away empty-handed.

What happened?

According to journalist Andy Ngo, Antifa attacked conservative demonstrators — one of who was a woman of color holding a U.S. flag. When one of the militants grabbed her flag pole from behind and tried to take it from her, she wouldn't let go.
