Canadian pastor arrested again; prosecutor claims Artur Pawlowski influenced truckers to keep protesting after they agreed to stop: 'Overt threat to violence'

Canadian pastor Artur Pawlowski — who's made numerous headlines for nearly a year over his opposition to COVID-19 restrictions — was arrested yet again last week after giving an "impassioned" speech to truckers that a prosecutor said influenced them to continue protesting after they had reached an agreement to stop and also incited violence, CBC News reported.

What are the details?

Protesters on Feb. 3 made a deal to leave the border crossing at Coutts in Alberta and go to Edmonton, the network said.

But that day Pawlowski gave what prosecutor Steven Johnston called an "impassioned" 20-minute speech to protesters, telling them to not give up and that there weren't enough police to deal with them, CBC News added.

"Less than two hours after reaching a deal to end the blockade and take it to Edmonton, truckers changed their minds," Johnston said in his argument that Pawlowski should be denied bail, the network noted.

During his speech inside Smugglers Saloon in Coutts, Pawlowski implored the truckers to stay and "hold the line." And while he did say "if this is our Alamo, then so be it," the pastor more than once said the truckers should protest peacefully and that their sheer numbers and trucks are enough.

"You have the power now," he also said, noting that he and others in the province "just want to be left alone."

However, Johnston called Pawlowski's words an "overt threat to violence," CBC News said.

Defense lawyer Chad Haggerty said "at no time did [Pawlowski] tell them to block the roads; he told them to remain and protest," the network reported.

What are the charges against the pastor?

Pawlowski was charged with mischief over $5,000 and interrupting the operation of essential infrastructure in a manner that renders it inoperative, CBC News reported, adding that since his Feb. 7 arrest, Pawlowski's supporters have raised $26,000 for his release and legal fees.

His bail decision should be reached this week, the network said, adding that if Pawlowski is convicted, he could face a fine of up to $10,000 plus six months in jail.

'He's never gonna back down'

Pawlowski's lawyer said his client remains in solitary confinement for 23 hours per day at the Calgary Remand Centre, Fox News reported, adding that vigils have been organized at Canadian embassies in the United States to protest the pastor's treatment.

Standing outside the prison, Pawlowski's son Nathanial told Rebel News "he's never gonna back down."

"They might as well lock him up and throw away the keys or put a bullet in him, because he's never gonna back down," he also told the outlet, adding that his father said his cell is "the most disgusting thing he's ever seen; it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 10 years."

Nathanial Pawlowski also told Rebel News that his father's treatment is "only going to feed the flame and expose what this is really all about" and that "it's about control, it's about bowing to the government, it's about tyranny — it has nothing to do with safety or public health or the law."

Anything else?

Rebel News said Pawlowski has now been arrested five times over his opposition to the COVID-19 restrictions.

He first went viral last spring for kicking "Nazi" police officers out of his church and then after his arrest in May — handcuffed on his knees in the middle of a highway — for holding a service in defiance of COVID-19 mandates:

In September he was arrested in headline-grabbing style on a Calgary International Airport tarmac, reportedly for contempt of court. In the wake of that arrest, he warned Americans that if they don't rise up, Soviet-style tyranny is "coming for you."

Last October, a judge ordered that Pawlowski must preach "science" as part of his sermons during probation.

Appalling video shows Antifa militants attacking a group of Christians who were participating in a prayer event at a park in Portland, Oregon.

Outspoken Canadian pastor Artur Pawlowski organized a worship event at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland. Pawlowski has gained notoriety and a large following after he fought back against coronavirus crackdowns on in-person worship services in Canada.

Antifa allegedly targeted Christians, including children, in the park by throwing projectiles, including rotten eggs.

"Antifa just rolled in like an angry mob, started throwing flash bombs at everybody, macing everybody ... rotten eggs," a woman is heard saying on video. "They threw a flash bomb into a group of kids that were out there from four months old to like 10."

The assailants dressed in black bloc and carrying umbrellas reportedly sprayed innocent people in the face with mace, including a pastor.

Antifa members destroyed a sound system set up for the service, and reportedly threw music equipment into Willamette River. Antifa members are seen stealing a wagon belonging to the religious group.

The Antifa members sprayed red and yellow gas at the worshippers.

"All Cops are B*******, in the name of Jesus," an anti-police man was heard saying, mocking the religious service. Another Antifa member screamed, "Where is your god now?"

"Several speakers preached to the crowd of perhaps a few more than 50, while the original group dressed in black appeared to consider the confrontation a success," the Portland Tribune reported. "But soon a dozen or so counter-protesters trickled over to the memorial, leading to shouting matches."

The counter-protesters were reportedly members of the Proud Boys.

"Antifa had threatened to beat people up and do what they do — and then they showed up and did it," a member of the Proud Boys told the Portland Tribune. "The police were not even far from there and they were laughing in their vehicles and doing their thing. It's probably hard to care as an officer in a place where they take away all your funding."

The clashes between the left-wing Antifa and the right-wing Proud Boys continued outside of the park. The two groups shot paintballs and sprayed each other while a police officer watched and didn't intervene.

There were no arrests made during the squabbles, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Canadian pastor Artur Pawlowski arrested for holding church service

Canadian pastor Artur Pawlowski was arrested on Saturday for committing the crime of holding a church service, which violated Alberta's public health orders.

Pawlowski, who went viral last month for the video of him kicking Canadian police and a health official out of his church while calling them "gestapo," held church service on Saturday in Alberta where "dozens were congregating without masks, with no regard for physical distancing," according to the Calgary Herald.

However, less than an hour after the church service, Pawlowski was arrested by police, who he famously labeled as "Nazis" the last time authorities came to his church to serve him court papers. The car that Pawlowski was traveling in was pulled over on a highway by at least six police vehicles. The Calgary Police informed Pawlowski and his brother Dawid Pawlowski that they were being arrested for violating the public health orders for gatherings because of Saturday's church service.

An onlooker yellsed at police, "Shame on you guys, this is not Communist China. Don't you have family and kids? Whatever happened to 'Canada, God keep our land glorious and free?'"

The city of Calgary issued a statement on the arrest of Pawlowski and his brother by the Calgary Police Services:

Earlier this morning, CPS lawfully enforced this order by proactively serving an organizer of a church service with the court order in an effort to ensure that citizens attending the Saturday service were abiding by the current COVID-19 public health orders. The order was served prior to the church service, and CPS did not enter the church during the service. The service organizer acknowledged the injunction, but chose to ignore requirements for social distancing, mask wearing and reduced capacity limits for attendees, and continued with the event.

The arrests come after the Alberta Health Services obtained a Court of Queen's Bench Order on Thursday that cracks down on all gatherings, protests, and rallies in the name of public health during the coronavirus pandemic. The order imposes new coronavirus-related restrictions on gatherings, and requires the use of face masks, social distancing, and attendance limits.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police issued a statement about enforcing the order.

"Law enforcement agencies can act immediately under this injunction, without the necessity of Alberta Health Services attendance," the RCMP said. "There are a variety of ways to enforce this order, including the ability to issue tickets, fines and criminal charges to individuals who are breaking public health orders by organizing and/or attending these events. This can include arrest and removal any person who has notice of this Order and chooses to act in violation of it."

Artur and Dawid Pawlowski were both arrested for breaching the Queen's Bench Order for holding Saturday's church service, and charged with organizing an illegal in-person gathering, including requesting, inciting or inviting others to attend an illegal public gathering, promoting and attending an illegal public gathering.

Pastor confronted by health inspector again, kicks out 'Gestapo' Calagary police from Canadian church

Pastor Artur Pawlowski went viral earlier this month for kicking a health inspector and police out of his church in Alberta, Canada. He infamously screaming at them, "Out of this property you Nazis! Gestapo is not allowed here! Out, Nazi! Out! Nazis are not welcome here! Do not come back here you Nazi psychopaths!" Pawlowski, who became known worldwide as the "Polish pastor," kicked out a health inspector and a group of Calgary police officers again when they came to his church on Saturday to confront him over COVID-19 restrictions.

"And they did it again! Today, the Gestapo Attacked our Church Again," Pawlowski wrote on Twitter about the latest harassment by Canadian authorities. "History is being repeated in front of our eyes! Another sad day for Freedom and democracy!"

Pawlowski shared a video of the tense confrontation with law enforcement in Canada where he stood his ground once again. The public health inspector hands Pawlowski a court order that she claims grants them access into the church, but he immediately responds, "I'm not really interested in what you have to say."

"I do not cooperate with Gestapo," Pawlowski tells the health inspector. "I do not talk to the Nazis. You came in your uniforms like thugs. That's what you are. Brownshirts of Adolf Hitler. You are Nazi Gestapo, communist, fascists. I do not cooperate with Nazis. Talk to my lawyer. You are not allowed here, you are not welcomed here, and I'm not going to cooperate with Gestapo like you, okay? So is that fair enough for you?"

"You see, this is what the Gestapo is doing," the Polish pastor says. "You're coming to the place of worship to intimidate and to harass."

Then Pawlowski informs the health inspector that they can make an appointment for another day when there are no church services.

The Polish pastor then launches into a loud rant, and labels the police as "Gestapo" again as he did in the first incident that was recorded on video and garnered millions of views on social media websites.

"You are sick, that's what you are!" Pawlowski screamed at the police, who he described as "wicked evil people." "And rightfully so you change your uniforms to black, because you are exactly acting like the Gestapo of old."

"If Canadians will not rise up and stand up, if they will not come to their senses while there is still time, while there is a time to wake up and push this evil, there will be absolutely no, no rights whatsoever," Pawlowski continued. "If they can get away with this, they're going to come anywhere else."

"And, you know, that's what people do not understand," Pawlowski, who was originally from Poland and is determined to warn the world about the dangers of authoritarian governments, said "They think that this is some kind of a game. Do you think they are here for your health, seriously?"

"They could come any day of the week," he continued after the police departed. "No, they want to do it during the church service because they have a purpose, they have an agenda. If you're not seeing it then you're plain either stupid, blind, and deaf."

"Either you're going to keep pushing as hard as you can or you'll be swallowed by those people," Pawlowski said. "They're going to keep coming, keep taking your rights, one after another. Destroying you by thousands of cuts. One cut at a time."

Pawlowski, who has refused to stop church services during the pandemic, called the second visit by Canadian authorities "sickening."

WATCH this pastor chase 'communist' cops out of his church: 'Gestapo is not allowed here!'

Just days after Canadian pastor James Coates was released from prison for refusing to bow to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, several police officers showed up at another church to ensure restrictions were being followed. But Polish pastor Artur Pawlowski of the Cave of Adullam Church in Alberta, Canada, knew his rights, telling the cops not to come back until they had a warrant in hand.

Filling in for Glenn Beck on the radio program this week, Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere played a video of the interaction.

"Please get out. Please get out of this property immediately. Get out!" Pawlowski can be heard yelling at the six officers who entered his church.

"Out! Out! Out! Get out of this property immediately until you come back with a warrant," he continued. "Go out and don't come back. I don't want to talk to you. You Nazis, Gestapo is not allowed here! ... Nazis are not welcome here! Do not come back you Nazi psychopaths. Unbelievable sick, evil people. Intimidating people in a church during the Passover! You Gestapo, Nazi, communist fascists! Don't you dare come back here!"
