Man and his girlfriend viciously beaten over their pro-Trump flag in Oklahoma City, police say

Police say that a man and his girlfriend were viciously beaten because they were driving with a pro-Trump flag on their truck in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The troubling incident unfolded Monday morning in the Bricktown area.

A witness told KOCO-TV that the fight was politically motivated and began when the couple arrived at a gas station with a large "Trump 2020" flag attached to the tailgate of their truck.

"The victim stated he and some other people pulled up to a gas pump," said Sgt. Megan Morgan of the Oklahoma City Police Department.

The report says that there were numerous motorcycle riders at the gas pumps.

"That's when a verbal altercation ensued between the victim and the suspect," she said.

The fight resulted in the flag being torn from the truck.

"A full altercation ensued where a victim and a second victim got injured," Morgan said.

The police said that the man and his girlfriend were beaten so badly that they were bleeding from their nose, mouth, and both eyes. KOCO reported that friends of the couple said on Facebook that they had to receive staples in their heads over their injuries.

Police said that the motorcycle riders at the scene were uncooperative, would not help them identify the attackers, and instead, offered "the usual anti-police rhetoric."

The clerk at the gas station told the police that they did not have exterior security cameras at the station.

Police have asked for the public's help in obtaining information on the suspects in the attack.

Political violence appears to have increased across the country as Election Day nears and passions heighten between Americans who disagree with each other. In one bizarre episode from California in June, a man threatened Black Lives Matter protesters with a chainsaw while yelling racist epithets.

Two leftist women caught on video ripping up pro-Trump signs, stealing MAGA hat while 7-year-old cries indicted on hate crime charges

The two Delaware women who were caught on video ripping up signs supporting President Donald Trump and stealing a red "Make America Great Again" hat while a 7-year-old boy cried and chased after them have been indicted on hate crime charges.

Olivia Winslow and Camryn Amy — both 21 and from Wilmington — were indicted by a New Castle County grand jury Tuesday on charges of second-degree robbery, second-degree conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree assault, attempted third-degree assault, offensive touching, and felony hate crimes, Delaware Online reported.

Three of the seven charges are felonies and collectively are punishable by 15 years in prison, the outlet said, adding that the hate crime charges could lead to the most prison time.

Winslow and Amy are out on bail, a spokesman for Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings told Delaware Online. The outlet said it's unclear when they are to be arraigned.

What's the background?

The video — recorded Aug. 20 near the venue for the virtual Democratic National Convention — shows two women harassing a mother and her young son. The women ripped pro-Trump signs and stole a MAGA hat sitting near the boy, whose mother recorded the altercation.

The boy can be seen running after the women and saying, "That's somebody else's hat!" Soon he starts crying.

The mom and son followed the women through a parking lot as things heated up.

At one point the boy sees another hat on the ground, and when he goes to retrieve it, one of the women actually appears to stomp her foot to prevent him from picking it up. The video doesn't show whether she makes contact with the boy's hand:

But when a man the mom apparently knows attempts to intervene, the same woman appears to hit him in the face:

Soon she tosses the stolen hat over fence:

The other woman then throws part of a ripped sign over a fence as well:

Then the same woman who appeared to hit the man in the face and stomped her foot near the boy's hand went after the mom, as the camera seems to show the woman taking a swipe at her:

Soon the clip ends.

The video, which was posted by Students for Trump and received attention from Donald Trump Jr., has received millions of views. According to Fox News, the White House has even contacted the boy.

Anything else?

Delaware Online noted that state law indicates that a hate crime occurs if a person commits it "for the purpose of interfering with the victim's free exercise or enjoyment of any right, privilege or immunity protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, or commits said crime because the victim has exercised or enjoyed said rights."

The outlet added that state Attorney General Jennings — whose office pursued the indictment against the women — said in a written statement Tuesday that "harming another person — let alone a child — because of the expression of their views betrays the principles on which our country was founded."

Colorado police seek woman who reportedly attacked a 12-year-old boy over his pro-Trump sign

Police in Boulder, Colorado, said they are seeking a woman who allegedly assaulted a 12-year-old over his sign supporting President Donald Trump.

The incident unfolded on Monday at about 3 p.m. according to a police report.

The boy, who was left unidentified, was riding his bike with a pro-Trump sign when he says that a woman riding on a moped passed him and then took a u-turn in order to confront him about the sign.

Boulder police spokeswoman Shannon Aulabaugh said the woman told the boy, "you want something to look at?" or something similar before she punched him.

Aulabaugh said the woman hit the boy with her closed fist on his head, and give him several more blows. She also scratched him after he fell to the ground.

The boy told the police that the woman attempted to steal his sign but that she was unsuccessful.

Boulder police are seeking a white woman in her twenties or thirties. She was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a tan jacket at the time of the alleged attack. Her moped was colored blue or gray.

The boy told Denver7 News that it wasn't the first time he had been attack for showing his support for the president, but that it was the first time he had been attacked by an adult.

"I like showing what I believe in," he said. "I didn't want any conflict – I just wanted to show what I believe in."

He said that he was afraid to show his support for Trump because of the troubling incident. His father added that he wanted to press charges against the woman if she is identified by the police.

Shots fired at Trump supporters, including children, who were just waving flags in South Carolina

Supporters of President Donald Trump said that shots were fired at them from a vehicle as they were waving flags during a public political demonstration.

The incident unfolded Monday evening in Fort Mill, South Carolina.

The Fort Mill Police Department said in a statement posted to its Facebook page that the officers were called to the demonstration at about 6:50 p.m.

Demonstrators told them that three men in a vehicle drove by their group several times and yelled obscenities at them. They claimed that the driver of the vehicle extended his hand out with what appeared to be a gun and they heard gunshots ring out.

"All of a sudden you know bang bang bang bang bang bang bang," Matthew Ostrowski said to WBTV.

"It was ridiculous. There were kids everywhere," he added. "They drove by really slow and saw everybody, so they knew exactly who was there."

Later a highway patrol officer found the vehicle abandoned nearby. Police stopped a second car driving in the vicinity of the first car when the trooper noticed one of the riders wore clothing that matched the description they were given by witnesses.

Police say two of the men in the second car were released after an investigation, but a third, 23-year-old Marquise Damarius Asomani from Charlotte, was arrested.

They charged him with six counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, one count of unlawful carrying of a pistol, one count of pointing and presenting firearms at a person, and one count of possession of a firearm during a violent crime.

He was placed under a $75,000 bond and held at the York County Detention Center.

'This energizes me more'

Ostrowski said that the incident didn't intimidate him and the others in the group, instead they drew strength and inspiration from the alleged attack.

"If anything this energizes me more and after this incident," he said. "It's done the same for many many people."

But others, like Lindsey Portugal, said that the alarming incident was discouraging.

"I think it's sad honestly that we're showing support for the president and you have to be nervous about somebody coming and doing this," she said. "I mean that's just discouraging."
