'This is an unacceptable dereliction of your duty'

A Republican lawmaker was left "speechless" on Tuesday after a top FBI official admitted to essentially ignoring the Durham report.
Jill Murphy, assistant director of counterintelligence at the FBI, testified before the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Law Enforcement, and Intelligence on Tuesday. During the hearing, Rep. August Pfluger (R-Texas), the chairman of the subcommittee, asked Murphy if she is aware of what Durham's investigation discovered.
"I have not read the Durham report, sir," Murphy said.
The response clearly caught Pfluger off guard.
"You have not read the Durham report?" he followed up.
"I have not yet read the Durham report," Murphy confirmed.
It took five seconds of awkward silence for Pfluger to gather his thoughts and conjure up a response.
"I'm honestly speechless at this point in time," he finally said. "I'm not sure what to think of this, as someone who has spent an entire career in counterintelligence."
Placing the final nail in the coffin of irresponsibility, Pfluger made Murphy admit several times that the Durham report is squarely focused on her area of expertise: counterintelligence. The admissions compounded the confusion as to why she, a chief counterintelligence agent, has not yet read the report, or, as it turns out, been briefed on it.
So why hasn't Murphy read the report? According to her, "I just haven't had time."

Later in the briefing, Rep. Dan Bishop (R-N.C.) asked Murphy if she knows whether anyone at the FBI, let alone in the counterintelligence division, has read the Durham report. But she could not name a single individual she knows who has read it.
Moreover, Murphy confirmed that she has not been briefed on the report by her superiors.
