AWKWARD: Biden's latest claim about GOP voting earns single embarrassing clap

President Joe Biden claimed Monday, during a speech celebrating Black History Month, that Republicans are "trying to keep the black vote ... from even counting," calling to mind for many the time then-Vice President Biden told an audience that included hundreds of black Americans that GOP economic policies would "put y'all back in chains."

“We're going to keep pushing on this, and we're protecting our country's threshold liberty, the sacred right to vote, which I've never seen is under such attack. You know, it's always made it harder for blacks to vote but this is trying to be able to figure out how to keep the black vote, when it occurs, from even counting,” Biden claimed, earning an embarrassing lack of applause.

Cardi B weighs in on inflation, says 'everything is high'

In a recent interview, rapper and provocateur Cardi B flexed her political bona fides while discussing inflation and Bernie Sanders' 2020 presidential campaign with celebrity journalist Billy Bush.

Largely, the interview provided the "WAP" rapper an opportunity to plug her new vodka-infused whipped cream called “Whipshots,” but towards the end, Bush suggested she send a bottle to her “old friend Bernie Sanders for Valentine’s Day.”

When asked whether or not she keeps up with politics, nowadays, Cardi B said, “I haven’t really been keeping up with a lot of political stuff because it’s just getting very overwhelming. There's certain things that, like, I was looking last year or, like, two years ago, and the market is extremely high.”

“And that’s just, let’s say, when it comes to homes, everything is high,” she continued, “the food is high, the products are high. We can’t even get products from certain countries.”

Earlier in the interview, Billy Bush remarked that Cardi B’s interactions with Bernie Sanders were his favorite moments from the 2020 election cycle.

Today @iamcardib and I finally met. We had a great conversation about the future of America.

And let me tell you: Cardi B is right.

Together, we’ll get millions of young people involved in the political process and transform this country. Stay tuned for our video coming soon!pic.twitter.com/L9mQ8InMZu

I been reading about Bernie Sanders and I’m really sad how we let him down in 2016 This man been fighting for equal rights,HUMAN rights for such along time.Seeing this country become a better place been really his passion for a long time not a new front for a campaign.

Cardi B is right. If we are really going to make America great we need to strengthen Social Security so that seniors are able to retire with the dignity they deserve.https://twitter.com/SSWorks/status/983413678514073606 …

In the 2016 election cycle, Cardi B urged her followers to support Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primary.

The rapper’s comments on the economy come as the country experiences historic levels of inflation. Recent reports from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicated that the consumer price index rose to an annual rate of 7.5%. This is the highest inflation has been in 40 years.

Cardi B noted that prices are increasingly “high,” and she is correct. The price of a new vehicle is up 12%, the average monthly rent has increased 4.36%, food has risen 7%, and used vehicles have increased in price by more than 40%.

Her statements on the rising costs of living indicated that inflation is an issue that affects all Americans, albeit the wealthy — such as Cardi B — are better positioned to withstand the rising costs of essential day-to-day products.

This is not the first time Cardi B has ventured into political commentary. This recent commentary, and her various endorsements and public appearances on behalf of certain candidates, are only part of her political persona.

Cardi B’s politics are likely best identified by her very public online feuds with conservative commentator Candace Owens resulting in threats of litigation.

Yes. Just spoke with my family. I am 100% suing Cardi for that nonsense. You can’t just start throwing out wild lies against private members of my family because you’re upset someone called your out on your degenerate performance.
I‘ll keep you all posted.https://twitter.com/Lordflashh3art/status/1371959036531372033 …

She’s also given her views on tax policy, in years past.

Cardi B is getting into tax policy now. She says she's paying 40% of her income in taxes and wants to know where the money is going..."when you donate to a kid in a foreign country, they give you updates on what they're doing with your donation....I want updates on my tax money."pic.twitter.com/E1hITGNqee

In 2020, the rapper tweeted that she “do feel like if I go back to school and focus up I can be part of Congress.”

She claimed that “I deadass have sooo much ideas that make sense. I just need a couple of years of school and I can shake the table.”

Transgender activist who led protest against Dave Chappelle has a troubling history of racist tweets

A transgender activist received a lot of press in the media for leading the protest against Netflix over Dave Chappelle's controversial special, but she has her own history of problematic tweets.

The tweets mocking and insulting Hispanics, Asians, and others were documented at the Post Millennial.

Ashlee Marie Preston does not work at Netflix but she helped organize a walkout by employees in opposition to comments Chappelle made on "The Closer," his latest stand-up comedy special.

Preston, who is a black transgender person, fired off numerous tweets assailing Asians and Hispanics, according to the report.

"Asian hoes act like they wont get karate chopped in they muthaf**n throat. What is this hoe staring at? Mind ya beeswax #B**ch," read one tweet.

"Latino and Asian businesses need 2 stop bein ride & f*kn disrespectful, & I kno its A LOT to ask in CA but speak f*kn English 2* #yahisaidit,' read another tweet.

"Just cussed that Asian b***h clean the f**k out...u mess up my order & THEN blame me?? #englishismyfirstlanguage b***h. Never ordern again," tweeted Preston.

Preston addressed the resurfaced tweets in a statement Monday to her social media account.

"It'll take more than tweets from nearly a decade ago, that y'all already weaponized against me 2 years ago, to stop me from doing the work that'll free us ALL, today," tweeted Preston. "This is so old and I've already taken accountability for it. There's no scandal here."

The activist had previously been criticized for the racist and misogynistic tweets after she was highlighted as a surrogate for the failed 2020 presidential campaign of Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.

Preston said at the time that the "racially insensitive and homophobic" tweets were a result of her addiction to methamphetamine, and apologized.

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has defended the company's decision to keep Chappelle's special on its platform by saying that content doesn't lead to real world harm, a central claim to much of the outrage by transgender activists.

Here's the Reuters video report of Preston's protest:
