New Gallup polling reveals massive problem for Democrats since Biden was elected

The newest polling from Gallup found an extraordinary change in party identification that will spell big problems for Democrats in the November elections.

The polling found that more Americans identified as Republicans as opposed to Democrats, and the margin had swung significantly to the Republican side since the last presidential election.

'If we have a polling shift like we've seen in prior years from now until the final result, Donald Trump would actually win.'

More Americans had described themselves as Democrats over Republicans since 2004, but the most recent poll shows that 48% say they are Republicans while only 45% say they are Democrats.

This represents a large swing from 2020 when President Joe Biden won the presidency and 48% of respondents said they were Democrats as opposed to the 43% who said they were Republicans.

That means a total net swing of eight percentage points over just the last four years in favor of Republicans.

And that is especially bad for Democrats because Biden won by a very slim margin in the electoral college despite having a 5% positive net margin in partisan affiliation.

"Party affiliation and voting are strongly predictive of individuals’ vote choices, with the vast majority of identifiers and leaners voting for the candidate of their preferred party," explained Jeffrey Jones the senior editor for Gallup.

"In years when the advantage was narrower — 2004 and 2016, for example — Republicans won in the electoral college if not also the popular vote," he added.

The findings also corroborate cautionary messages from pollsters like CNN's Harry Enten who say that Democrats need a large margin in polling to overcome the shift towards former President Donald Trump in the last two elections.

"The bottom line is this," said Enten. "If you're a Kamala Harris fan and you wanna rip open the champagne bottle, pop that cork, do not do it. Donald Trump is very much in this race. If we have a polling shift like we've seen in prior years from now until the final result, Donald Trump would actually win."

Even MSNBC host doesn't believe Pelosi's spin on bad polling for Democrats

Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California tried and failed to downplay polling showing that the worsening economy was driving support for Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.

Pelosi made the comments while a guest on MSNBC in an interview with Andrea Mitchell.

"So let's talk about rising inflation concerns along with crime giving momentum, new momentum, to Republicans after the Democrats were closing the gap, the historic gap," Mitchell said.

"Yes," Pelosi agreed.

"So after the Supreme Court ruling, there was huge outrage. That has seemed to subside, at least among overriding concerns," Mitchell continued.

"Despite all the legislative accomplishments, and I want to cite them, I want to, you know, say it's been an extraordinary session. You, and the president have done so much in terms of domestic concerns, the economy," she concluded. "So why is this message, why do you think the president hasn't gotten this message through to the voters?"

"Well first of all, let me say that I think that much of what you've said I don't agree with," Pelosi responded. "That is to say, the New York Times poll I think is an outlier poll. You cite one poll but all the others have a different ..."

"It's also the RealClearPolitics average is showing similar issues," Mitchell interjected.

"No. No. But that was one that brought down the average, and it was an outlier, it wasn't even that big a sample," Pelosi argued.

"So I just dismiss that. I have been, since Congress adjourned, I've been in an average of five states a week and I can tell you that women's concerns about their freedom are very very much still very significant in terms of how they will vote," she added.

Pelosi went on to claim that inflation was a global issue but then admitted that part of the problem originated with the policies of President Joe Biden.

"But some of the inflation in our country sprang from the fact that this president created nearly ten million jobs — nine, at least nine million jobs, working with the private sector," she added.

Many liberals were outraged at the New York Times/Siena College poll that showed abortion had fallen as a primary concern among likely voters while the economy and inflation had gained prominence. The poll also found that 19% of voters who supported Biden in 2020 now disapprove of his job performance.

Percentage of Americans saying the country is headed in the wrong direction spikes to 85%

An astounding 85% of Americans said that the country was headed in the wrong direction in a recent survey.

The AP-NORC survey found that only 14% of Americans said that the country was headed in the right direction, a dire result for Democrats hoping to hold on to congressional power in the midterm elections.

The percentage of Americans optimistic about the country's direction has steadily collapsed from 29% in April to 21% in May and to 14% in June.

In the newest survey 92% of Republicans and 78% of Democrats said the country was headed in the wrong direction.

Americans had a worsening negative view of President Joe Biden in the survey.

Only 38% said they approved of the job Biden is doing, while 57% said they disapproved of the job he's doing.

Even worse for the president, only 28% of Americans said they approved of Biden on the economy, the lowest rating Biden has received in the survey. When asked about gun policy, only 36% said they approved of Biden's performance.

While some progressives like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) have blamed Biden's low polling on his lack of attention for his left-wing socialist base, centrists in the part have blamed progressives for pushing unpopular policies like "defund the police" and transgender activism.

One analysis by Goldman Sachs Global Investment Research predicted that economic concerns would cost Democrats control of the House of Representatives in the upcoming midterm elections.

"The most recent readings of most economic indicators we examine suggest that Democrats will lose the majority after this year’s elections," the group wrote. "While falling real disposable income suggests a large loss, most other indicators suggest... a loss of 15 to 25 seats."

Liberals lash out at Van Jones for saying Biden is losing black voters because he didn't fulfill his promises and made their lives worse

CNN political commentator Van Jones said that Biden and the Democrats are losing support among black voters because they overpromised, underdelivered, and inflation had made their lives worse.

Jones made the comments on CNN Friday with John Berman.

"I think that there's a disappointment factor that's set in, I think a lot of black voters feel like the black community gave the most during the election, it was a historic election, 2020, and have gotten the least," Jones said.

"If you look at voting rights, so far nothing. Police reform, so far nothing. You look at some of the student loan stuff, very little. So what was motivating African-American voters left, right and otherwise, were that somebody was going to come to our rescue," he continued.

"The day-to-day reality for black folks hasn't improved In fact, because of inflation and other things, [have] gotten worse," Jones concluded, "so you're starting to see that disappointment factor set in."

He went on to point out that conservatives have been able to recast the Republican Party as a "multi-racial working class" party to appeal to some minorities. He also blamed most of the disapproval for Biden on inflation.

"This idea, well look, Trump was here, he's terrible, we're gonna replace him, and we're gonna give you 100% of what you want, with 50% of the votes in the Senate," Jones continued.

"The math never made sense, you can pass big bills through the house, but you can't even sometimes get a hearing in the Senate. And so by the time you get to the summertime, hey, I'm hearing all this stuff is supposed to be happening, but it's never getting signed by the president," he explained.

"When you overpromise so much in the beginning of the year and you're underdelivering at the end of the year, and don't forget Build Back Better, et cetera, you suddenly end up with a disappointment factor plus inflation," Jones concluded.

Some on social media were furious with Van Jones for his criticism of the Democrats.

"Van Jones is a f***ing moron," read one very popular reaction.

"Van Jones is wrong. The MEDIA HAS UNDERREPORTED Joe Biden's accomplishments because they have PTSD from TFG. Get a handle on your business ffs, MSM," said another critic.

"I don’t know what the f*** Van Jones’ jiggin’ and jivin’ ass is even talking about," read another critical tweet. "How the f*** would he know what life is like for us Blacks who ain’t never played pet negro for Trump or billionaire Bezos?"

Others agreed with Jones.

"Van Jones didn't say anything wrong here. The Democrats said what they needed to say to get the votes they needed to win, and refused to fight for any of the things that they promised. The strategy of the Democrats appears to be platitudes now and excuses later," read one popular response.

NBC News found similar apathy among black voters in a rural town who said it didn't appear to matter who was in the White House, Democrats or Republicans.
