Six teens found guilty in connection to Islamist beheading of French teacher

A high school history teacher was beheaded by an Islamic refugee in a Paris suburb on Oct. 16, 2020. Six teenagers who had a hand in Samuel Paty's savage execution were convicted Friday by a French court.

Among the convicts was a Muslim student who spread lies about the nature of the teacher's Oct. 6 lesson on freedom of expression as well as other teens who helped set up the bloody ambush. Adults suspected of complicity in the terrorist murder, including the Moroccan father of the untruthful teen, are set for trial in 2024.

Although some justice has ostensibly been meted out, it appears to be of little consolation to a country struggling with radicalism and the apparent fallout of multiculturalism.

The Islamist murder plot

Paty, 47, was a teacher at Collège Bois-d'Aulne, in a suburb northwest of Paris. On Oct. 6, 2020, he showed Charlie Hebdo caricatures of Mohamed to his class during a lesson on freedom of expression, posing the question, "To be or not to be Charlie?"

The lesson was timely since Charlie Hebdo, a satirical magazine, had been targeted by Islamic terrorists multiple times in recent memory, including the previous month when two employees were stabbed outside its headquarters. In 2015, two Islamic terrorists gunned down 12 people at the magazine's headquarters. In 2011, the magazine's office was firebombed.

One of Paty's students, a then-13-year-old Muslim girl, was suspended that month for skipping school. Rather than own up to her truancy, the Guardian reported that the teen told her father, Brahim Chnina, that she had been ousted for confronting Paty over the freedom of expression class.

According to the yarn she spun, Paty dismissed Muslim students from the class so that he could show non-Muslims "a photograph of the Prophet naked." She further claimed the upon confronting Paty, the teacher had her suspended.

Chnina, an Islamist preacher who migrated from the 99% Sunni Muslim nation of Morocco, subsequently took to social media to condemn Paty and demand that he be fired.

Abdullakh Anzorov, an 18-year-old Islamist migrant from Chechnya, picked up on the enraged father's cues and began plotting the murder. Prosecutors indicated that Anzorov traveled 50 miles from Normandy to Conflans-Sainte-Honorine to assassinate Paty, reported the BBC.

Five other teens, between the ages of 13 and 15 at the time, then helped Anzorov identify and ambush Paty. The terrorist paid them roughly $327 for their services.

With the help of the teens, Anzorov tracked down Paty as he walked home from work and used a cleaver to hack off his head. Witnesses reportedly heard the attacker shout, "Allahu Akbar," during the commission of the assassination.

Police responded to the scene and successfully gunned down the terrorist, but not before he could boast of the slaying on Twitter.

BBC indicated 15 people were taken into custody following the murder, including Anzorov's parents, brother, and grandfather. Additionally, various Muslim organizations that allegedly trafficked in outrage over the false claims concerning Pety's lesson were scrutinized. The Collective Against Islamophobia in France was, for instance, deemed an "enemy of the state" by the country's interior minister.

First set of convictions

The teenage girl who spread the initial lie about Paty was revealed in court not to have been in class during the lesson. She was found guilty Friday of making false accusation charges and slanderous comments, reported the Guardian.

For her hand in Paty's demise, the untruthful teen was given an 18-month suspended prison sentence.

The five teens who helped Anzorov with his murder plot were found guilty criminal conspiracy with intent to cause violence. Four of the facilitators were given suspended sentences. The fifth was sentenced to six months in prison but may ultimately serve time on the outside under electronic surveillance.

Virginie Le Roy, a lawyer representing the victim's family, told the French press, "The role of the minors was fundamental in the sequence of events that led to his assassination."

Eight adults will be tried next year for their alleged hand in the assassination.

In addition to Chnina and members of the terrorist's family, Anzorov's friends, identified as Azim E. and Naim B., will be tried for alleged "complicity in a terrorist murder," according to France 24. The duo are said to have helped the killer pick out and buy the murder weapon.

Growing concern

The convictions are unlikely to ease tensions in France, where the struggle with what the New York Times characterized in 2021 as a failure of integration appears to have come to a head.

Recently, Muslim students at a school west of Paris raged over their art teacher's exhibition of a Renaissance painting portraying a Greek mythology story and featuring scantily clad women, reported the Daily Mail. Facing threats from Islamists, various teachers went on strike.

This summer, the country faced race riots over the police-involved shooting of an Algerian teen that were almost as destructive to the European nation as the 2020 BLM riots were to the United States.

Last month, a gang of youths who made clear they were out to "stab white people" did just that at a French village's annual winter ball, butchering a 16-year-old boy. The attacks prompted major protests critical of the nation's immigration policy.

The French regime has in recent days unsuccessfully attempted to pass legislation that would clamp down on illegal immigration, toughen French language requirements, speed up the deportation process, and make it more challenging for foreign nationals to obtain residency papers, reported the New York Times.

Los Angeles mother allegedly decapitated by her own daughter: 'There's blood on that side, there's blood on the floor'

Police discovered a grisly crime scene after a Los Angeles County mother was allegedly decapitated by her own daughter.

Around 5 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to a call regarding a stabbing at a residence in El Monte, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Officers found 44-year-old Jacqueline Perez stabbed to death. She had suffered multiple stab wounds, and was allegedly decapitated.

KABC reported that officers removed a head from a trash can, as seen by the network's news helicopter.

Authorities pronounced the victim deceased at the nightmarish scene.

According to Law & Crime, "Neighbors and family members described the gruesome scene where the alleged decapitation took place. There was a trail of bloody footprints on the driveway coming from the home’s front door near decorations from a recent child’s birthday party."

Neighbor Hector Manzo told KABC, "There’s blood on that side, there's blood on the floor."

The victim’s brother, Julio Lopez, said he heard his 11-year-old nephew scream. The boy raced out of the victim's house with his shirt soaking in blood.

"Maybe they argued," he said. "To tell you the truth, I don’t know."

Outside of the home, police arrested Kimberly Monique Gonzalez – the 25-year-old daughter of Perez. The murder suspect was covered in blood, according to police.

Police recovered a possible murder weapon, but did not elaborate.

Gonzalez was charged with one count of murder and one count of assault with a deadly weapon. If convicted, Gonzalez faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

Gonzalez is currently held on a $2 million bail in the Los Angeles County Jail.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón called the incident an "extraordinarily violent act."

"My heart goes out to the family and loved ones who have been shattered by this unimaginable tragedy. The pain and grief they must be experiencing is unimaginable," Gascón said in a statement.

"This was an extraordinarily violent act which has had a profound impact on our community," he added. "We are fully committed to seeking justice on behalf of the victim and our dedicated team will work tirelessly to bring clarity and closure to this heartbreaking case."

Levin: Hamas are 'Nazi murderers' who aim to bring about 'the second Holocaust'

What’s happening in Israel is what Mark Levin refers to as “the second Holocaust.”

While he is well aware that 6 million Jews are not being slaughtered, he also recognizes that those who are raping, kidnapping, and beheading Israelis want to slaughter 7 million.

“That’s the whole point of this, and there the atrocities are just unspeakable. The inhumanity is unspeakable,” he says.

“They want to blame the Jews and they want to blame Israel,” Levin continues. “Their long-term if not short-term goal is to blow the Jews out. To obliterate them, to mass kill them, genocide. That’s their objective. That’s why you see the atrocities today.”

Hamas is a branch of one of the most vicious terrorist organizations on the face of the earth, which has killed many Americans and committed many acts of terrorism. Now Hamas has joined forces with Iran — and Biden chose to unfreeze $6 billion for Iran not weeks before the invasion of Israel.

“These terrorists, these Nazi murderers, they want to do the same to every human being in the United States. Every one of us, and they did attack us more than once, and they’re going to attack us again, which is why Iran must be denied a nuclear weapon,” Levin says.

However, “the Biden administration is clearing the path for them to acquire one,” he adds.

Levin notes that the equivalency Biden’s media is creating between the Palestinians and the Israelis by reporting on how many Palestinians die in the Gaza strip is “disgusting.”

“During World War II, did our media keep a running tab on how many Japanese we killed? How many Germans we killed? How many Italians we killed? Of course not,” he says, explaining that no mercy is required if good is going to prevail.

“There’s good and there’s evil. Good people trying to survive will not survive if they don’t destroy evil. And evil needs to be sent back to hell.”

Illegal immigrant convicted of beheading his girlfriend found not guilty due to mental illness, victim's son vexed over 'insane' ruling

An illegal immigrant who was convicted of first-degree premeditated murder for beheading his girlfriend in Minnesota has been found not guilty due to his mental illness.

Alexis Saborit, 42, was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder in May. However, Judge Caroline Lennon ruled on Monday that Saborit was not guilty due to his mental illness.

The judge cited psychologists who determined that Saborit's "mental illness prevented him from understanding his actions were morally wrong."

CBS News reported, "Two doctors analyzed Saborit's case and determined he 'was suffering from mental illness to the extent that it prevented him from understanding the moral wrongfulness of his actions during the alleged offense.'"

The judge said Saborit's medical history included traumatic brain injury from a 2017 car crash, "symptoms of mania in conjunction with psychosis," "significant history" of non-compliance with prescribed treatments, and hospitalizations in 2013 for "bizarre delusions."

On July 28, 2021, Saborit was driving to a court appearance with his 55-year-old girlfriend America Thayer. Saborit attacked Thayer with an 8-pound dumbbell.

Saborit – an illegal immigrant from Cuba – used a machete to behead his girlfriend. He then dumped her decapitated body on the sidewalk in Shakopee, Minnesota. The gruesome beheading happened in broad daylight in front of several witnesses.

Thayer allegedly told Saborit that she wanted to end their 12-year relationship. According to his indictment, Saborit told a friend, "I'm going to chop her f***ing head off" with a laugh just days before the decapitation.

Thayer's son, Charles Thayer, is furious that Saborit was not being sent to prison.

"It is tough to understand how somebody can commit cold-blooded murder, plan to do it, tell everyone they’re going to do it, have a motive to do it, and then somehow be considered insane," Charles Thayer told KMSP-TV.

"I just don't know what world or society we are living in anymore," Charles added. "I just want this to be over with, for myself and my family."

He continued, "This is your typical tell-tale abusive man controlling a relationship for many, many years. And I cannot even tell you how many times the cops were called for him beating the crap out of her."

Thayer brought a large photo of his mother to court, but Saborit allegedly wouldn't look at it.

"He didn't make any eye contact at all," Thayer said. "He is obviously very ashamed of what he did. He killed the only person in the world that cared about this guy."

Saborit will be held at the Scott County Jail until he is transferred to a psychiatric care facility.

Shakopee man who decapitated girlfriend found not guilty due to mental illness www.youtube.com

Minnesota man convicted of murder for beheading girlfriend in front of several witnesses

A Minnesota man has been convicted of killing his girlfriend. The grisly murder was allegedly witnessed by several people, who said the killer beheaded his girlfriend.

Alexis Saborit, 44, was found guilty in the 2021 slaying of 56-year-old America Thayer. Saborit was convicted of first-degree murder on Thursday.

Saborit and Thayer were driving to a court appearance on July 28, 2021.

CBS News reported, "Saborit and Thayer were on the way to his court appearance for felony charges alleging that he set fire to their apartment in Shakopee during a confrontation with police and that Saborit attacked Thayer after she told him she wanted to end their relationship."

While in Thayer's parked Chrysler 300 sedan, Saborit allegedly attacked his girlfriend with an 8-pound dumbbell near downtown Shakopee, Minnesota. Witnesses purportedly saw Saborit attack Thayer with the dumbbell.

Saborit allegedly used a machete to behead his girlfriend, and then dumped her body on the sidewalk.

Witnesses reportedly "saw the man chopping at the front passenger seat with a large knife and then pull a decapitated body and severed head out of the vehicle."

A witness allegedly drove by the area and "saw a body and severed head on the ground outside of the vehicle."

Thayer was pronounced dead at the scene of the gruesome crime.

Saborit purportedly bolted from the crime scene on foot, then disposed of the machete while running away. Saborit was arrested less than 2 miles away at the Travelodge Hotel, where he was staying.

Judge Caroline H. Lennon proclaimed, "The Defendant used a dumbbell to strike Thayer in the head and a machete to decapitate her. The nature of the assault is proof of the Defendant's intent to cause Thayer's death."

"The Court finds proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Defendant caused the death of America Thayer," Lennon declared.

County Attorney Ron Hocevar said he was pleased with the verdict, and anticipates that Saborit would be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Coworkers recalled what a "kind" person Thayer was.

"Thayer, who was employed by My Pillow in Chaska, is described by her former co-workers as extremely hard-working, caring, and the kind of person that would never hurt a fly," according to a report from SW News Media in 2021.

A review hearing is scheduled for June 1.

Man accused of beheading young mother with a samurai sword claims he killed his ex-girlfriend in self-defense

A California man accused of beheading his ex-girlfriend with a samurai sword now claims that he killed the young mother in self-defense.

Last September, a 27-year-old woman was found beheaded on the street outside of her home in San Carlos – a city on the San Francisco peninsula. The slain woman was identified as Karina Castro, a mother of two young children – ages 7 and 1.

Police arrested Jose Rafael Solano, also known as Jose Rafael Solano Landaeta, on the same day as the crime. The 33-year-old was charged with the murder of Castro – who was Solano's ex-girlfriend and father of her youngest child.

In April, Castro obtained a restraining order against Solano, but she continued to interact with him, according to her family.

Snapchat messages between the pair reportedly ignited an argument and led to the young woman's death. Castro reportedly threatened to expose Solano's statutory rape conviction from 10 years ago and an alleged sexual relationship with another man.

According to Snapchat messages, Solano allegedly called her a "snitch lip," and threatened her, "F*** around and find out."

Hours later, Castro's body was found beheaded outside of her home.

Solano claimed that he went to Castro's house to de-escalate the situation.

Solano confessed that he wasn't happy that Castro began dating another man. He also claims that Castro put a hit on him, according to ABC7 News I-Team reporter Dan Noyes who interviewed Solano from the San Mateo County Jail.

Noyes reported, "He insists that Karina Castro told him that she had hired people from East Palo Alto to carry out a hit on him, his mother, and his brother."

Solano claimed that Castro was armed with a knife.

Noyes added, "He says she emerged from the driver's side of that Volkswagen with the knife in hand and kind of marched towards him with this knife. And he claimed that he swung that sword in self-defense."

Solano told Noyes that he used a "decorative" samurai sword, which he admitted the weapon had a "sharp edge."

San Mateo County district attorney Steve Wagstaffe disputed Solano's version of events, "We don't think that that accords with the evidence that we've been able to collect in this case so far."

Wagstaffe pointed out that there are no reports of Castro wielding a knife.

"We haven't had any reports of her being armed with a knife or anybody even seeing a knife, much less using a knife," he said.

In September, the case was suspended after Solano's attorney questioned whether he was competent to stand trial because of mental competency. Castro's father said that Solano was a "diagnosed schizophrenic on meds."

However on Jan. 26, a judge ruled that Solano is competent to stand trial after a mental competency evaluation. A preliminary hearing is scheduled to begin on March 1.

Solano faces 26 years to life in prison if convicted on the murder charge.

CA man admits to beheading mother of 2 with samurai sword -- EXCLUSIVE www.youtube.com

Beheaded California mother identified. Day before her murder, she threatened to expose suspect's alleged relationship with another man. Grieving father speaks out.

New details have emerged in the gruesome murder of a California mother who was reportedly beheaded in broad daylight.

Police have identified the victim of the heinous murder as 27-year-old Karina Castro. She was the mother of two young children – aged 7 and 1.

Police said that around 11.50 a.m. on Thursday, Castro was allegedly beheaded by a man with a sword outside of her home in San Carlos – a city on the San Francisco peninsula.

Witnesses said they saw the nightmarish beheading murder.

Jose Raphael Solano Landaeta, who also goes by Rafa Solano, reportedly left the crime scene only to return minutes later. Police quickly arrested Landaeta for the murder.

Landaeta was confirmed to be Castro's ex-boyfriend and the father of her 1-year-old child.

Castro obtained a restraining order against Landaeta in April, but she continued to interact with him, according to her family.

Castro's family claimed that Landaeta had previously been violent with the mother of two.

Marty Castro, Karina's father, told KGO-TV, "If there's somebody out there abusing your daughter, don't take off. Don't let it go. Don't take no for an answer. You feel responsible, no matter what anyone says."

"Every time I saw her, I would beg her. Don't talk to him," the grieving father said. "Leave him and it seemed like the more I did that, the more she would see him."

The victim's grandmother, Danielle Gannon, said of Landaeta, "He is a diagnosed schizophrenic on meds. And he would use that as an excuse for his behavior. He drank excessively and you're not supposed to do that on those kind of medications."

KGO-TV said it had obtained more than a dozen Snapchat messages between Landaeta and Castro. In one message sent a day before her murder, Karina reportedly threatened to expose the suspect's alleged relationship with another man.

She threatens to tell the world about Solano's criminal record that includes a rape conviction involving a minor. He calls her "snitch lip" and warns her "F*** around and find out." Castro fires back, "U wanna put a target on my back, ur homies gunna kno the real u" and threatens to expose his sexual relationship with another man. She adds, "Dude, go head try and take my a** out." Just hours later, they had a confrontation in the street outside her apartment – her daughters safely inside.

The father said, "He got really mad, went to the trunk of his car, pulled out whatever it was, and killed her right there behind her car."

Marty Castro said, "She was an amazing girl."

The grandmother added that Karina "was an amazing woman, very stubborn, determined to raise her daughters on her own."

The family wants custody of Karina's two young children – who were put in the care of Child Protective Services following the mother's horrific death.

Gannon said, "I want those girls. That's what I want first, then I want Rafa to fry in jail. I don't care what happens to him."

A GoFundMe campaign was launched to "lessen the financial burden so that the Castro family can focus on healing."

"I just want to thank everyone who’s donated to help my daughter's kids, my beautiful grandchildren who have lost their mother to a senseless useless person," Marty Castro wrote in the crowdfunding campaign. "Thank you all, this money will help them and help us give my daughter a funeral to remember I’m devastated broken empty and more hurt than I ever thought I could be by the situation but thank you all for helping us and the worst time of our lives."

Landaeta – a 33-year-old aspiring rapper – will be arraigned in San Mateo Court on Monday.

Young California mother beheaded in middle of street, man arrested for homicide

On Thursday afternoon in northern California, a 25-year-old mother was beheaded in the street outside her home. A suspect was arrested shortly after the incident, authorities reported.

Law enforcement sources told KGO-TV's investigative team that an adult male beheaded a young woman in front of witnesses in San Carlos, a city on the San Francisco Peninsula.

Broadcastify radio traffic and law enforcement records showed that police received reports around noon that a sword was used to cut off the woman's head.

The sheriff's department reported that the crime occurred at 11:50 a.m. in the street outside the woman's home.

During a press briefing just hours after the incident, Lieutenant Eamon Allen said that he could not confirm the type of weapon used in the crime. Allen referred to the weapon as "a stabbing instrument" and stated authorities were still attempting to locate it.

"They arrived within minutes and found an obviously deceased female in the street in that area," said Allen during a Thursday press conference. "They began to work the scene and shortly then after, the male suspect arrived back at the scene and was quickly detained by sheriff's deputies. He was later placed under arrest for homicide. We can confirm that a stabbing instrument was used in the commission of the crime. That weapon is still outstanding."

Chapel Thorborne, a neighbor who said he had some interactions with the couple before the incident, stated the suspect returned to the scene shortly after committing the murder.

"After he cut her head off, he came walking up, him and his two friends," Thorborne said. "And they walked right by me and they arrested him."

Allen also reported that the suspect needed medical attention prior to being taken into custody, but he did not have specifics on the injury.

Sources told KGO-TV that the victim and the suspect were in an ongoing relationship. According to authorities, the young woman filed a restraining order in April against the suspect, Jose Solano Landaeta. Sources informed the news outlet that there was a history of domestic violence.

The victim's name has not yet been released.

Allen confirmed that the woman had two young children but that they were not present to witness the crime. KGO-TV's investigative team reported that sources said the kids were inside the house at the time of the murder.

The 7-year-old and 1-year-old girls were taken into custody by Child Protective Services. A dog and two cats were also taken from the home.

"Any time someone loses their life it's certainly a tragedy. As far as the shocking nature of it, I do know that the deputies that first arrived on scene were a little beset by the scene. We are providing peer support, we are also providing support for the witnesses that were on scene as well, because there were several civilian witnesses," Allen said.

Law enforcement continued to work the scene Thursday evening. The investigation is still ongoing.

Teen in India arrested for decapitating his sister as their mother allegedly held down the young woman's legs

A teenager has been arrested in India for decapitating his pregnant sister as their mother allegedly held the victim's legs, according to police, CNN reported.

The 19-year-old had wed contrary to her parent's wishes. She was two months pregnant, police told the outlet, citing the woman's husband.

"The girl (19) went against her parents' wishes and got married five months ago. They had a court marriage and since then she had not been in contact with her family and was living with her husband," police official Kailash Prajapati informed the outlet.

The gruesome execution occurred on Sunday. The relatives went to the young woman's residence and she invited them in for tea, Prajapati noted, according to CNN.

"That is when the brother took a scythe and struck her four times and beheaded her. They then picked up the head and kept it outside the house in the yard and left the body inside," he said. "The mother was holding her legs during the incident and was equally complicit."

The slain woman's spouse, who had been sleeping, awoke when he heard the sound, police noted, according to CNN. "The accused attacked him as well but he was able to escape," Prajapati said.

Authorities said the duo went to a police station and admitted to the slaying.

While the two have not been formally charged, Prajapati noted that the police report identified murder as the charge for each of them, pending an investigation, according to CNN.

Police were waiting for an autopsy to verify if the deceased was pregnant, the outlet noted.

The BBC reported that police suspect the individuals took a selfie photo with the head.

The outlet also said that the victim did not contact her family much after getting married, but tha the mother visited a week prior to the killing. Police said the mother was aware of the daughter's pregnancy, the BBC noted.

At least 116 fatalities result from gang battle at an Ecuadorian prison, with at least 5 reportedly beheaded

A fight among gangs in an Ecuadorian prison has left at least 116 dead and 80 injured in what authorities are describing as the worst penitentiary massacre in the nation's history, according to the Associated Press.

The outlet noted that at least five of the deceased were reported decapitated, officials said Wednesday.

Authorities ascribed Tuesday's violence at the Litoral penitentiary to gangs connected to international drug cartels battling for control of the facility, according to the AP.

President Guillermo Lasso noted at a news conference that the what was taking place at the facility was "bad and sad" and that he could not at the moment guarantee that authorities had recovered control, according to the outlet.

"It is regrettable that the prisons are being turned into territories for power disputes by criminal gangs," he said, noting that he would act with "absolute firmness" to recover control of the prison and prevent the violence from spreading to other prisons, the outlet reported.

The violence involved firearms, knives and bombs, officials noted, according to the AP.

"In the history of the country, there has not been an incident similar or close to this one," former president of the nation's National Rehabilitation Council Ledy Zúñig said, according to the outlet.

Officials reported earlier that the episode was tied to a dispute involving the "Los Lobos" and "Los Choneros" prison gangs, the AP noted.

Former director of Ecaudor's military intelligence Col. Mario Pazmiño said the violence reveals that "transnational organized crime has permeated the structure" of the country's prisons, and he said that Mexico's Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation cartels operate via local gangs.

"They want to sow fear," he told the outlet on Wednesday. "The more radical and violent the way they murder," the more they accomplish their objective of control, he noted.
