Biden classified documents testimony reveals why America is so divided

While Democrats believe that Robert Hur’s report on President Biden’s handling of classified documents exonerates the president — Hur completely disagrees.

He made this clear when the House Judiciary Committee heard testimony from Hur on Tuesday, telling Rep. Pramila Jayapal point-blank that he “did not exonerate him.”

When Rep. Jim Jordan asked Hur why Biden felt the need to mishandle classified documents, Hur replied that he was writing a book.

Hur then answered that Biden was paid $8 million for the book.

“Joe Biden had 8 million reasons to break the rules, took classified information, and shared it with the guy who was writing the book,” Jordan said, “which he definitely knew was against the law.”

Glenn Beck is well aware of the double standards taking place on the Democrats end, noting that the Democrats have been going after Trump for something similar — but Trump didn’t have $8 million waiting on the other end.

“What’s alleged is that he held up a document and said, ‘Look, here it is, here’s proof of it.’ Didn’t hand it to the reporter, didn’t read it to the reporter, didn’t send it to the reporter, he just said, ‘It’s right here, okay,’” Glenn says, adding, “That’s why Donald Trump has to go to prison now.”

This is why Glenn believes “our country cannot function.”

“There is no principle or value to truth, none. The truth only matters when it’s convenient, and you could say that about both sides,” Glenn says, adding, “How many on the right would be absolutely fine with a conviction on Trump doing it if Joe Biden received the exact same conviction and punishment?”

“I would be, if it’s a crime,” Glenn says.

RELEASED transcript shows what Biden said that made special counsel Hur question his mental agility

Special counsel Robert Hur just testified before Congress about his investigation into President Biden’s classified documents scandal. Of course, Democrats threw a fit and claimed that Hur was out of line when he included concerns over Biden’s mental agility in his report.

However, before the testimony, the full transcript of Hur’s interview with Biden was released to media outlets. Now we finally know what Biden said that caused Hur to report concerns.

One of the examples that many have cited as proof of Biden’s waning cognitive functioning is that he can’t remember the details of his son Beau’s death, which happened in 2015.

The left, however, has been reporting that Biden does know when his son died, citing the following line from Hur’s transcript: “It was 2015,” which would suggest that the president is indeed cogent.

Turns out they're just cherry-picking.

“Stu, do you care to read the previous lines?” asks Glenn Beck.

“You mean like when he says, ‘Well, this is what — 2017, 2018, in that area? Remember in this time frame, my son is either been deployed or is dying,”’ reads Stu, quoting Biden.

“Then the White House lawyers correct him and say, ‘No, it was 2015,”’ to which Biden replied, “Oh was it 2015 he had died?”

Once the lawyers confirmed that “yes, it was May of 2015,” then Biden responded, “It was 2015.”

“That’s where [Democrats] pick up the transcript,” says Stu.

The transcript also shows that Biden didn’t know when he was vice president.

When Hur questioned him on the storage of classified materials, Biden said, “Well, if it was 2013 — When did I stop being vice president?”

He also said, “My problem was I never knew where any of the documents or boxes were specifically coming from or who packed them, just did I get them delivered to me?... I'm at this stage in 2009. Am I still vice president?”

Of course, Biden was just beginning his role as vice president in 2009.

“He's not saying, was I vice president yet? — which he should know,” says Glenn. “He's asking if he was still the vice president in 2009.”

Despite these obvious (and deeply concerning) lapses in memory, the New York Times still reported that “he was clear headed most of the time” during the interview with Hur.

“First of all, is that the standard that we're looking for the president?” asks Stu.

“Do you get a driver’s license if you’re coherent and clear-minded most of the time?” adds Glenn.

For anyone who’s sane, the answer to both questions is a resounding no.

But Democrats will find ways to argue otherwise.

For example, the left stated, “When Mr. Biden provided a lengthy description of the layout of his house in Delaware, Mr. Hur observed that Mr. Biden appeared to have a photographic understanding and recall of his house.”

“Do you actually get credit for remembering what your house looks like?” asks Stu. “We know he did know [the boxes of classified information] were there, but he didn't know what was in the boxes, so that's not really a photographic memory.”

Jim Jordan gets Hur to make damning admission about Biden's motive for retaining classified docs: '$8 million'

Special counsel Robert Hur admitted Tuesday that his investigation found evidence that Joe Biden retained classified materials to enrich himself.

During a House Judiciary Committee hearing, Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) asked Hur to speculate about Biden's motive for retaining classified information. At first, Hur declined to comment on Biden's possible motive, which prompted Jordan to cite Hur's own words.

In his report, Hur said Biden had "strong motivations" for ignoring regulations safeguarding classified information because he wanted to write a book. Hur wrote:

Mr. Biden had strong motivations to ignore the proper procedures for safeguarding the classified information in his notebooks. He decided months before leaving office to write a book and began meeting with his ghostwriter while still vice president. After his vice presidency, the notebooks continued to be an invaluable resource that he consulted liberally. During hours of recorded interviews in which he read aloud from his notebooks in his private home, Mr. Biden provided raw material to his ghostwriter detailing meetings and events that would be of interest to prospective readers and buyers of his book.

Next, Jordan asked Hur about the advance Biden received for that book, "Promise Me, Dad." According to Hur's report, Biden received $8 million — a highly lucrative deal.

"Joe Biden had 8 million reasons to break the rules. He took classified information and shared it with the guy who was writing the book," Jordan said. "He knew the rules, but he broke them for $8 million in a book advance."

Next, Jordan highlighted Hur's assessment that Biden retained classified documents to "buttress" his view that he played an important role in history.

Hur wrote in the report:

[Biden] also likely viewed the notebooks, like the marked classified documents related to Afghanistan recovered from hisgarage, as an irreplaceable contemporaneous record of some of the most important moments of his vice presidency. This record was valuable to him for many reasons, including to help defend his record and buttress his legacy as a world leader.

"It wasn't just the money, it wasn't just $8 million, it was his ego!" Jordan summarized. "Pride and money is why he knowingly violated the rules. The oldest motive in the book: pride and money."

In a follow-up question, Jordan asked Hur if he agreed with that assessment — and he did.

"That language does appear in the report and we did identify evidence supporting those assessments," Hur explained.

Hur testified about his investigation and report for more than four hours on Tuesday. Unfortunately, Democrats used the hearing to attack Donald Trump repeatedly and to make false claims about Hur's report.

Specifically, Democrats claimed that Hur "exonerated" Biden or found that he was "outright innocent."

But on multiple occasions, Hur clarified those are not the conclusions he reached. In fact, Hur told Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) that his investigation did not exonerate Biden.

On the contrary, Hur explained in his opening statement that his investigation "identified evidence that the president willfully retained classified materials after the end of his vice presidency, when he was a private citizen."

Despite this evidence, Hur said he did not recommend criminal charges against Biden because he found it unlikely that prosecutors could prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt, particularly because of Biden's faulty memory.

Ron DeSantis calls out 'senile' Joe Biden over classified documents, says what everyone is thinking regarding president's memory concerns

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis criticized "senile" President Joe Biden's handling of classified documents during a new interview with BlazeTV host Mark Levin. The Republican governor also verbalized what everyone is thinking in regards to President Biden's memory concerns.

Levin began the "Life, Liberty & Levin" interview with DeSantis by highlighting recent mental gaffes committed by Biden. Levin pointed out how Biden confused Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as "the president of Mexico" during a Thursday press conference where the president was attempting to refute assertions that he is suffering from memory loss.

Speaking about the report from Justice Department Special Counsel Robert Hur that painted Biden as a "well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory," Levin noted that the report is "damning" for the president.

Levin asked DeSantis, "What do you make of this where a guy like this doesn't even have to face the issue of whether he should be prosecuted constitutionally, as a sitting president, but on the other hand, they throw everything imaginable Donald Trump, even in the other case, the Klan Act, and the Enron Act and all the rest. What do you make of this?"

DeSantis responded, "Well, I think there's been a lot of focus, understandably, on the provision saying, 'Hey, this guy is just too senile to actually stand trial, a jury wouldn't convict them.'"

DeSantis then said what everyone is thinking about the sitting president having possible cognitive issues.

DeSantis declared, "And I think that that is something that okay, you can't stand trial, but somehow you can have the nuclear codes? What about invoking the 25th Amendment then, if that's what it's going to be? And obviously, that's going to continue to be a huge political issue."

"This was willful retention of documents over many decades," DeSantis hammered Biden. "This was like a pattern in practice when he was a U.S. senator, when he was vice president, when he got out of office."

"And I think back to the Hillary Clinton case – which you and I both thought, merited prosecution at the time – but you know, Hillary, she set up that server it really wasn't about classified," DeSantis explained. "She just didn't want her communications to be subjected to FOIA because of whatever she was doing – Clinton Foundation, who knows. So she was willing to risk exposure of classified by having this private server."

DeSantis proclaimed that Biden's actions with classified documents were more egregious than Hillary Clinton's private server.

"Biden I think was even more willful. Because he was doing this for a pattern of practice," the Florida governor stated. "These documents are sprinkled over how many different locations and so clearly, you know, they had the goods if they wanted to go forward and recommend. Now of course, a sitting president, that's a separate issue, but they're hanging their hat on the fact that this guy is effectively not mentally competent to stand trial."

DeSantis concluded, "How pathetic is that for our country? This is the guy that has the nuclear codes."

4 ways Biden made things WORSE while trying to defend his mental agility

Special counsel Robert Hur has released a report that has many questioning President Biden’s mental state.

According to the report from the Justice Department, it was found that Biden had willfully retained classified materials as a private citizen — but there will be no charges filed against him.

One of the reasons for that decision is that Biden is allegedly losing his memory.

“He’s basically unfit for trial,” Pat Gray comments, adding, “and apparently, you have to be a lot sharper for trial than you do to be president of the United States of America.”

Biden, of course, strongly denied this in a press conference, but then forgot where his son Beau got a rosary and mixed up the presidents of Egypt and Mexico.

When Biden tried to defend what he had done with the classified documents, he then mixed up the definitions of classified and private.

“So what I was referring to, I said classified, I should have said it should be private because it was a contact between the president and the vice president,” Biden said in the press conference after an angry outburst.

“You don’t know the difference between classified and private, really? That’s a problem too,” Gray laughs.

“Man, does he get angry at the drop of a hat,” he adds.

Jeffy agrees with Gray, noting that his anger could mean something else.

“It’s almost as if that’s a symptom of something,” he says.

Biden then went on to blame his staff for mishandling classified documents when a reporter asked if he takes responsibility for “being careless with classified material.”

“I take responsibility for not having seen exactly what my staff was doing,” Biden responded.

“He just threw his staff under the bus,” Gray says, shocked.

Special counsel will reportedly heavily criticize Biden over classified document mishandling but will not bring charges

The special counsel investigation into the alleged mishandling of classified material by Joe Biden when he was vice president is not expected to result in charges, according to a report.

CNN cited two sources close to the investigation by special counsel Robert Hur after the Wall Street Journal first reported the development Thursday.

The sources said that Hur's report will be sharply critical of Biden and his staff in relation to their handling of classified documents, but it will stop short of recommending charges be filed.

Hur was appointed to the investigation in January after it was revealed that Biden had improperly retained classified documents at his former office at the Penn Biden Center and at his home in Wilmington, Delaware.

The revelations allowed his critics to defend former President Donald Trump over the accusations that he had also held on to classified documents that were seized from his residence at the Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida by the FBI.

Hur is a Republican who served as the 48th U.S. attorney for the District of Maryland from 2018 until 2021 and was appointed by Trump.

Hur's team has reportedly told other Department of Justice officials that their report will be completed by the end of the year.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow defended Biden against the criticism that he was guilty of the same crimes that liberals have accused against Trump of committing.

"Again, this was not, as it was in Trump’s case, the archives desperately seeking the return of the material that Trump was blowing off, and Trump was blowing off those requests, and ultimately, blowing off the subpoena to return those documents," said Maddow on her show in January.

"These appear to be documents that were inadvertently held at the Penn Biden Center, discovered by Biden’s attorneys," she claimed.

Trump has angrily decried the investigation into his alleged mishandling of documents as being politically motivated and fundamentally unjust.

“This is nothing more than a continued desperate and flailing attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their Department of Justice to harass President Trump and those around him," he said in July.

McCarthy confronts reporters' bias by asking the questions they refuse to ask Biden: 'Has anyone answered that question?'

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy embarrassed the media on Tuesday for not asking questions about President Joe Biden's document scandal.

During a gaggle with reporters in the Capitol, McCarthy interrogated the media with pertinent questions that journalists should be asking about Biden's unlawful retention of classified documents.

"Has anyone ever asked the current president why would he have a classified document outside of the SCIF from his Senate days? Has he ever been confronted with that question?" McCarthy asked the reporters.

A "SCIF," otherwise known as a sensitive compartmented information facility, is a secured area for viewing highly sensitive classified information. The SCIF is designed to protect the information and the sources and methods underneath it and to control access to it.

Biden reportedly had documents stashed at the Penn Biden Center with "SCI" markings, meaning they should only have been viewed in a SCIF and never have been removed.

"I haven't had you ask me one question about the current president having classified documents. I haven't had you ask me one question about why the current president, as a senator, why he would even have a classified document. Does that raise any questions to you?" McCarthy went on to ask the reporters.

One of the reporters tried to challenge McCarthy, defending Biden by claiming Biden turned over the documents. That's true, but Biden's attorneys have played coy about details, and the documents were only found after classified documents were discovered at Mar-a-Lago, McCarthy noted.

"I've always said equal justice," he said. "So my question back to you is: Is it equal or fair? Have you ever asked the question to the current president, 'As a senator, why would you even have that document outside of the SCIF?'"

"Has anyone answered that question?" McCarthy asked again.

\u201cHas anyone ever asked the current president why would he have a classified document outside of the SCIF from his Senate days? Has he ever been confronted with that question?\u201d
— Kevin McCarthy (@Kevin McCarthy) 1686698978

McCarthy's consternation boils down to the fact that many of the alleged facts in the Trump indictment could be read as if they apply to Biden.

"I read the indictment. ... If you read the first dozen pages of this indictment, almost everything in there could be applied to Joe Biden," commentator Marc Thiessen explained Tuesday on Fox News.

Thiessen read directly from the indictment to prove his point:

"Trump was not authorized to possess or retain those classified documents." Biden was not authorized to have the ones that he had at the Penn Biden Center or his home. "The Mar-a-Lago club was not an authorized location for storage, possession, review, or discussion of classified documents." Neither was the Penn Biden Center or Joe Biden's garage.

"The Mar-a-Lago club hosted more than 150 social events." Well, the Penn Biden Center — they had classes with international students, and they had a joint program with the Japanese government, they had foreign nationals; it was Antony Blinken's office where he was greeting foreign visitors all the time. That was dangerous.

"Trump caused his boxes containing hundreds of classified documents to be transported from the White House to the Mar-a-Lago Club." Joe Biden caused documents to be transported to his home and to the Penn Biden Center.

Department of Justice finds 6 more classified documents at Joe Biden's home in Delaware

Department of Justice officials found six more classified documents at President Joe Biden's home in Wilmington, Delaware.

DOJ officials conducted a 12-hour search of Biden's Delaware house on Friday. The search revealed that the former vice president possessed another six documents with classified markings, according to Biden's lawyer.

Bob Bauer, a personal lawyer for Biden, said in a statement, "DOJ requested that the search not be made public in advance, in accordance with its standard procedures, and we agreed to cooperate."

"DOJ had full access to the President’s home, including personally handwritten notes, files, papers, binders, memorabilia, to-do lists, schedules, and reminders going back decades,” Bauer stated.

He continued, "DOJ took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the President’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as Vice President. DOJ also took for further review personally handwritten notes from the vice-presidential years."

Richard Sauber, who serves as White House special counsel, noted that the president and first lady Jill Biden were not at the Wilmington residence during Saturday's search that began at approximately 9:45 a.m. and concluded at around 10:30 p.m. Biden is spending the weekend at his beachfront property in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware – about 90 miles south of Wilmington.

CNBC reported, "Some of the classified documents and 'surrounding materials' dated from Biden’s tenure in the Senate, where he represented Delaware from 1973 to 2009, according to his lawyer, Bob Bauer, who said the DOJ was invited to conduct the search. And 'some of” the documents' were from his tenure as vice president in the Obama administration, from 2009 through 2017, Bauer said."

Previous classified documents were discovered at the president's former office at Biden-Penn Center in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 2, 2022 – six days before the midterm elections. However, the discovery of classified docs was not revealed to the public until a report by CBS News on Jan. 8.

More sensitive documents were found in the garage of Biden's Delaware home on Dec. 20. U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland confirmed the existence of the documents on Jan. 12.

On Jan. 14, Sauber admitted that six more pages of classified documents were found during a search of Biden's private library at his house in Wilmington, Delaware.

On Thursday, President Biden said he has "no regrets" about the classified documents.

Sauber said on Saturday, "Since the beginning, the President has been committed to handling this responsibly because he takes this seriously."

Dem. Eric Swalwell says special counsel is 'absolutely appropriate' to investigate classified documents kept by Biden

California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell said that it was "absolutely appropriate" for a special counsel to be assigned to investigate the classified documents found at President Joe Biden's residence and think tank office.

Swalwell made the comments while a guest on "The View" on Wednesday.

"Well anytime classified materials are outside of what's called a Secure Classified, Secure Compartmentalized Information Facility, SCIF, is like the Washington insider term, that's a problem," he said.

"And so I think this case, a special counsel I think is absolutely appropriate," he added.

"This case will hinge on his knowledge and intent," he continued. "It looks like once he was aware of this, he did what I hope everyone would do, which was get the documents back to the government, cooperate in every meaningful way."

He went on to contrast Biden's case with that of former President Donald Trump.

"I know it's natural to compare this to what the former president has done where it looks like he wanted to keep the documents and is litigating that and fighting in the courts," said Swalwell.

"What worries me with President Trump is that somebody who was willing to leverage $350 million of taxpayer money to get dirt on his opponent as he did with the Ukrainians, if he has top secret documents in his possession that he could leverage that for his own benefit," he continued.

"But again, I think, treat them both the same," Swalwell opined.

"Give independent analysis and independent scrutiny and see where it goes," he concluded.

Swalwell nearly got the phrase SCIF correct. It stands for Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility.

He also addressed a threat made by a critic to him and his family by comparing it to the political violence committed on Jan. 6 during the rioting at the U.S. Capitol. The Indiana man messaged him in all caps, calling for Swalwell's family to be raped and murdered. The man consequently lost his job as a manager for an Indianapolis laboratory company.

Here's the video of Swalwell's comments on 'The View':
