Stacey Abrams' nonprofit sides with alleged domestic terrorists, demands 'justice' for man accused of shooting Georgia trooper

Following a weekend of terror in DeKalb County, a nonprofit founded by twice-failed gubernatorial candidate and election denier Stacey Abrams sided with the out-of-state extremists who pelted police with firebombs and rocks, demanding "justice" for a leftist militant accused of shooting a Georgia state trooper in the gut.

The New Georgia Project and New Georgia Project Action Fund, which previously sought to help Abrams in her pursuit of power, posted calls to action on social media Tuesday, stating, "This Thursday, March 9th at 6 pm ET, NGPAF activists and partners will be in Atlanta marching to #StopCopCity as part of the National Day of Action Against Police Terror."

The accompanying poster demands justice for Tyre Nichols and "Tortuguita."

— New Georgia Project (@New Georgia Project) 1678224184

TheBlaze previously reported that the dead leftist whom NGP now seeks "justice for," Tortuguita or Manuel Esteban Paez Terán, was fatally shot by law enforcement on Jan. 18 after he allegedly fired multiple shots at officers without warning, striking a Georgia State Patrol trooper in the gut.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation noted that law enforcement officers were conducting a coordinated operation to "identify people who were trespassing and committing other crimes on the future Atlanta Public Safety Training Center," a center dubbed "Cop City" by radicals.

When clearing out a wooded area near Constitution Road, troopers came across Terán, who was camped out where just a month earlier, six leftists had been arrested and charged with domestic terrorism.

According to the GBI, officers gave verbal commands to the man. Instead of complying, he allegedly opened fire and was then fired upon.

In addition to demonstrating in support of a trespasser who reportedly died while trying to slaughter police officers, Abrams' New Georgia Project and the New Georgia Project Action Fund are championing the cause of accused terrorists.

Twenty-three leftist extremists were reportedly charged with domestic terrorism after barraging police with rocks and incendiary devices Sunday at the site of the planned Atlanta Public Safety Training Center in Dekalb County's South River Forest.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, a group of violent agitators used the demonstration as cover to launch a "coordinated attack" on construction equipment and began lobbing "large rocks, bricks, Molotov cocktails, and fireworks at police officers."

Among the 35 people arrested Sunday, many were from out of state, and some were even from outside the United States, reported CNN.

Atlanta Police Department officials underscored Sunday night, "This is not a protest. ... This wasn’t about a public training center; this was about anarchy."

"I strongly believe in the right to peacefully protest for what one believes is right and just," said District Attorney Sherry Boston of Dekalb County. "However, I draw the line at violence, destruction of property and threatening and causing harm to others."

Republican Gov. Brian Kemp said the violent activists responsible for the attacks "chose destruction and vandalism over legitimate protest, yet against demonstrating the radical intent behind their actions."

"Domestic terrorism will NOT be tolerated in this state," said the Georgia governor in a statement. "As we continue to respect peaceful protest, we will also continue to ensure safety in our communities. We will not rest until those who use violence and intimidation for an extremist end are brought to justice."

Whereas the governor seeks to bring violent leftists to justice, Abrams' nonprofit wants them to escape it.

The NGP's Mobilize.us event posting suggests that the anti-police march, expected to be up to three miles long, will begin at King Center and end at the Atlanta University Center campus "after dark," adding, "Make sure to wear or bring whatever you need to feel safe and strong and to make post-march transportation plans accordingly."

NGP and the NGPAF, both led by CEO Kendra Davenport Cotton — previously managing director of Planned Parenthood Southeast — will be joined by other leftist and identitarian organizations such as Black Voters Matter in supporting the violent anti-police cause.

In addition to apparent cop hatred, NGP was in the news recently for its "financial irregularities."

The Washington Free Beacon reported late last month that Georgia’s secretary of state has opened an investigation into possible improprieties behind the scenes of Abrams' organization.

NGP and the NGPAF have reportedly raised $54.7 million since 2020. Despite this flow of cash, Fox News Digital noted that NGP applied for and received a $482,000 Paycheck Protection Program loan in May 2020, despite having gathering $24.5 million in contributions and cash that year.

While stacking donations and grabbing COVID loans, its executive reportedly pocketed a pay raise of $69,345.

According to the Beacon, the organization also raised eyebrows with a "half-million-dollar consulting payment to a charity run in part by the brother of former New Georgia Project CEO Nsé Ufot, who was later fired for undisclosed reasons," as well as the claim that it paid zero payroll taxes in 2020.

Leftist extremists launch 'coordinated attack' on police facility in Atlanta, prompting resolution to declare Antifa a terror organization

Weeks after a leftist militant was put down after reportedly shooting a Georgia state trooper, leftist extremists have resumed their terror campaign to stop the construction of the new police training center in Dekalb County's South River Forest.

Officers were again pelted with rocks and incendiary devices during an anti-police demonstration that turned violent Sunday at the site of the planned Atlanta Public Safety Training Center.

Ultimately, 35 extremists were detained. Some have reportedly been charged with domestic terrorism.

What are the details?

In February, a leftist group that claims to be "a broad, diverse, decentralized movement to defend the Atlanta Forest" posted calls on social media for a "week of action to #StopCopCity ... for March 4-11 in Atlanta, GA."

“A week of action to #StopCopCity has been announced for March 4-11 in Atlanta, GA.”
— Defend the Atlanta Forest (@Defend the Atlanta Forest) 1675700782

The leftist blog Atlanta Community Press Collective, which has long promoted anti-police initiatives in the area, noted that hundreds of masked extremists heard the call and gathered over the weekend, chanting, "If you build it, we will burn it," as well as Marxist slogans such as "we have nothing to lose but our chains."

Reuters reported that leftist demonstrators held a music festival the following day, again in protest of the construction of what they call "Cop City."

The revelry did not last long, as black-clad militants amongst the crowd soon began throwing rocks at police, starting fires, and launching incendiary devices.

According to the Atlanta Police Department, a group of violent agitators used the demonstration as cover to launch a "coordinated attack" on construction equipment and police officers and began lobbing "large rocks, bricks, Molotov cocktails, and fireworks at police officers."

This video shows the leftist extremists begin to stream toward the construction site:

In addition to attacking officers, roughly 100 extremists vandalized various pieces of construction equipment.

WSB-TV reported that heavy smoke from the leftist attacks was visible miles away from the police facility.

The area was on lockdown, and a SWAT team responded to the scene to aid Georgia State Patrol, Atlanta Police, DeKalb County Police, Sandy Springs Police, the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, and others in restoring order.

First responders put out the fires before they could spread to the surrounding forests and the litter left there by demonstrators.

Domestic terrorists

Atlanta Police Department officials underscored Sunday night, "This is not a protest. ... This wasn’t about a public training center; this was about anarchy."

“Below is my statement on last night's events at the site of the future Atlanta Public Safety Training Center.”
— Governor Brian P. Kemp (@Governor Brian P. Kemp) 1678108555

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr said, "What happened last night was not peaceful protest - it was violence. Plain and simple. We will not tolerate this destruction of property, and we will seek to ensure that those who have engaged in this criminal behavior are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law."

WSB-TV reported that many among the 35 leftists reportedly detained were from out of state.

The Atlanta Community Press Collective claimed that as of 10:20 a.m. on Monday, 23 individuals were facing domestic terrorism charges.

Following the attacks, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) announced on Twitter she will be introducing a resolution Tuesday in Congress recognizing Antifa as a terrorist organization.

Greene wrote, "Antifa attacked the Atlanta future Public Safety Training Facility. This is domestic terrorism. It was planned for weeks and announced on social media. Antifa are self proclaimed communists and consistently organize to attack our government over and over again. They should be taken seriously and not tolerated anymore."

The Hill reported that Greene is not the first to attempt to hold Antifa accountable in Congress. In 2021, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Co.) introduced a resolution to designate Antifa a terror organization, but the Democrat-controlled Congress killed it.

CBS deletes 'We are ready to worship!' tweet that it had posted ahead of Sam Smith's 'Unholy' Grammy performance

In response to a tweet from Sam Smith ahead of the Grammy Awards on Sunday, CBS declared that it was "ready to worship!"

"This is going to be SPECIAL," Smith tweeted.

CBS replied, "....you can say that again. We are ready to worship!"

CBS apparently deleted the tweet on Monday evening.

— Jillian Anderson (@Jillian Anderson) 1675730822

Smith, who identifies as nonbinary, and Kim Petras, who identifies as a transgender woman, won the Grammy for best pop duo/group performance for the song "Unholy."

The two gave a demonic-appearing performance at the Grammys that GOP Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas described as "evil."

After the performance concluded, a message noted that Pfizer was involved in sponsoring the 65th Grammy Awards. "Pfizer is taking the whole truth in advertising thing pretty literally…." Cruz quipped.

"We sponsored the overall Grammy's event, not any particular performance. Beyond that, we don't comment on our efforts to raise awareness," a Pfizer spokesperson told Newsweek.

CBS's "worship" tweet raised eyebrows on social media.

"You don't have to say the entertainment industry is satanic, they're doing it for you," Jillian Anderson tweeted.

Blaze Media's Jessica O'Donnell tweeted, "this is sick."

"CBS tweeted, at Sam Smith, that it was 'ready to worship' just before Sam Smith performed a Satanic ritual. Riiiiiiighhhhhht," Raheem Kassam tweeted.

Mike Glenn of the Washington Times described CBS's tweet as, "disgusting (tho not surprising)."

"Did CBS just admit it worships Satan?" the Media Research Center wrote when sharing a screenshot of the CBS tweet.

"It's really heartbreaking to watch people mock God, flaunt that mockery, and then be praised for it. This should break our hearts and send us into prayer for these people. Truly," Billy Hallowell tweeted regarding the performance.

Grammy Awards feature satanic-looking 'Unholy' performance, 'unrecognizable' Madonna

The 65th annual Grammy Awards held in Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday featured Satan, cages, dominatrices, whips, fire, and an "unrecognizable" Madonna.

"It's a take on not being able to choose religion. And not being able to live the way that people might want you to live," performer Kim Petras, a German-born, transgender woman (i.e., a biological man), said of the "Unholy" performance, Variety reported.

"I think a lot of people, honestly, have kind of labeled what I stand for and what Sam [Smith] stands for as religiously not cool, and I personally grew up wondering about religion and wanting to be a part of it but slowly realizing it didn’t want me to be a part of it," Petras also said.

"Saturday Night Live" hosted a performance of the song "Unholy" two weeks ago. Sam Smith
performed in an enormous, hot pink, fluffy tulle gown. Petras was revealed to be sitting under the voluminous skirt as the gown was flipped open.

Billy Hallowell, who penned "Playing with Fire: A Modern Investigation into Demons, Exorcism, and Ghosts," described the "Unholy" performance at the Grammy Awards as "heartbreaking." He encouraged viewers to pray for "people who mock God, flaunt that mockery, and [are] then praised for it."

"Unholy's" lyrics address themes of marital infidelity and betrayal.

Page Six described Madonna as "unrecognizable." The "Like a Virgin" and "Material Girl" pop legend presented ahead of Smith's and Petras' "Unholy" performance.

Though she wore her signature fishnet gloves, some viewers were shocked by Madonna's near-unrecognizable face.

"Her lips appeared plumped and pouty and her skin was smooth and without wrinkles," according to the Mirror's gracious description of 64-year-old Madonna.

Others were more blunt.

"I'm all for cosmetic surgery but @Madonna should have left her face alone after her last lift," said actor Damon Gonzalez.

"The mother of reinvention needs an intervention. And yes, I'll be paying 1,300 to see her at MSG this summer," Gonzalez added.

"Madonna can't see it. It's filter fatigue. People get so used to their face they no longer see it's different, so they continue to get more," said writer and director Jay Arnold.

Gov declares state of emergency after rioters set police cars ablaze, shattered storefront windows in Atlanta

Following a destructive riot and arson over the weekend in Atlanta, Georgia, Governor Brian Kemp (R) declared a state of emergency on Thursday, according to an executive order.

The order was issued "due to unlawful assemblage, overt threats of violence, disruption of the peace, and danger existing to persons and property."

On Saturday, a small group of protesters lit fireworks and threw rocks at the Atlanta Police Foundation and local businesses. The masked perpetrators chanted "no justice, no peace, no killer police" before setting two police cruisers on fire and hurling bricks at the officers.

Rioters organized the protest to oppose the fatal police shooting of 26-year-old Manuel Esteban Paez Teran. On January 18, Teran was protesting in southeast Atlanta. After allegedly refusing to comply with law enforcement and shooting at a Georgia State Patrol trooper, officers returned fire. Teran was struck and killed.

Authorities reported that no officers, protestors, or bystanders were hurt during the Saturday riot. Law enforcement confiscated explosive devices and arrested at least six individuals in connection with the demonstration.

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens described the protesters as "outsiders who have come here for their own political aims."

"They want to scare and disrupt. But Atlanta is stronger than them," Dickens stated. "But we do not tolerate violence or property destruction."

In response to the rioters' actions, Kemp stated, "While the state continues to respect peaceful protest, acts of violence against person or property will NOT be tolerated. Those committing such unlawful acts will be arrested and prosecuted fully."

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Kemp's aides stated that the emergency order was also issued as a precautionary measure as the city braces for more potential riots following recent grand jury indictments charging five former Memphis officers with second-degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Tyre Nichols earlier this month.

Memphis police plan to release bodycam footage of the incident Friday evening.

Kemp's executive order grants him the authority to deploy up to 1,000 Georgia National Guard troops until February 19, who would respond to manage "unlawful assemblage, overt threats of violence, disruption of the peace, and danger existing to persons and property."

"We understand the executive order is purely precautionary based on possible unrest following the release of the videos from Memphis," an official told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "There are no immediate intentions to deploy the Guard."

“STATE OF EMERGENCY: @GovKemp has declared a State of Emergency in Georgia. “Because of unlawful assemblage, violence, overt threats of violence, disruption of the peace and tranquility of this state and danger existing to persons and property, a State of Emergency is declared””

Georgia AG tells Atlanta media to stop referring to rioters as 'protesters': 'Peaceful protesters use words ... rioters set police cars on fire'

Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr told media members in Atlanta to stop referring to the "Cop City" rioters as "protesters" amid lawlessness in the city this weekend.

"To the Atlanta Media: Peaceful protestors use words. Rioters smash windows, set police cars on fire & shoot law enforcement officers" Carr tweeted Saturday. "Stop calling these people protesters."

— Chris Carr (@Chris Carr) 1674345372

Carr issued hashtags linked to local stations WAGA-TV, WSB-TV, WXIA-TV, GPB News, as well as to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper.

What's the background?

Multiple videos showed rioting Saturday amid a protest over a fatal police shooting at the future Atlanta Public Safety Training Center nicknamed "Cop City." Activist Manuel Esteban Paez Teran — who called himself "Tortuguita" — allegedly shot a Georgia State Patrol trooper, after which, law enforcement returned fire, killing Teran, who was 26.

The protest for Teran turned violent within an hour as rioters launched fireworks and threw large rocks at the Atlanta Police Foundation building in downtown Atlanta. Two police cruisers were set on fire, bricks were thrown at other APD vehicles, and windows of local businesses were smashed.

What did media outlets do?

Media outlets, while acknowledging the rioting, still emphasized that the protest began as "peaceful."

NPR, for example, wrote that "the initial hour of the demonstration had been peaceful ..."

A WAGA-TV reporter — narrating during a live video showing a vehicle fire raging in the background — said "it was a largely peaceful protest":

Freelance journalist David Peisner raised the question to CNN — as videos of the chaos in Atlanta flashed onscreen — if property destruction can be considered violence.

"I think that there’s a real blurring of the lines in the use of the word 'violence.' Is property destruction violence? To some people it certainly is. But, you know, this idea that breaking windows or other acts of property destruction are the same as actual violence against humans, it’s kind of a dangerous and slippery concept," Peisner said.

He continued: "Look, I don't think this is a smart move. I don't think it's a productive move from the standpoint of the protesters, but as the chief himself said, this is a small group ... you keep using these words ‘violent, violent, violent, violent' ... the only acts of violence against people that I saw were actually police tackling protesters."

Video: 'Cop City' chaos erupts in Atlanta when rioters set police cars on fire, launch fireworks, hurl rocks

Explosive video shows a riot breaking out in Atlanta following a protest against fatal police shooting at the future Atlanta Public Safety Training Center that has been nicknamed "Cop City."

On Wednesday, police fatally shot activist Manuel Esteban Paez Teran. The 26-year-old staged a protest at the future site of a planned public safety training center to be constructed in a southeast Atlanta forest.

Teran – who called himself "Tortuguita" – reportedly refused to comply with law enforcement, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Teran allegedly shot a Georgia State Patrol Trooper at Intrenchment Creek Park. Other law enforcement officers returned fire, struck Teran, and killed him.

Protests against the police shooting were organized for downtown Atlanta at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Protesters held signs that read: "They Can’t Kill Us All” and “Trees Give Life, Police Take It.” There were also chants of "Stop Cop City" and "If they build it, we will burn it."

However, the event of about 300 participants turned violent within an hour.

Rioters launched fireworks and threw large rocks at the Atlanta Police Foundation building in downtown Atlanta. Two police cruisers were set on fire and other APD vehicles had bricks thrown at them. Windows of local businesses were smashed during the riot revolving around the "Cop City" controversy.

We stand ready to respond to demonstrations to ensure the safety of those in our communities and those exercising their first amendment right, or to address illegal activity, should the need arise.

The office of Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp released a statement:

The governor remains well informed of the situation through regular updates from state law enforcement and is actively monitoring the situation. State patrol is well equipped to respond to any and all threats to public safety and is coordinating closely with other state agencies and local PD. While the state continues to respect peaceful protest, acts of violence against person or property will NOT be tolerated. Those committing such unlawful acts will be arrested and prosecuted fully.

Watch professional fishermen get caught cheating to win high-stakes tournament, furious crowd wants to tear them apart: 'You should be in jail!'

Professional fishermen are in hot water following accusations of cheating in a recent fishing tournament in Ohio.

Competitors at the Lake Erie Walleye Trail Tournament Series (LEWT) believed something was fishy when the catch of two anglers' was suspiciously heavy. Competitors claimed that fellow fishermen were guilty of stuffing the freshwater fish with weights.

It appeared that Chase Cominsky and Jake Runyon had reeled in a victory in the 2022 Lake Erie Walleye Trail Championship event on Friday. However, a cheating accusation sank the high-stakes professional fishing event.

A viral video allegedly shows Lake Erie Walleye Trail director Jason Fischer cutting open the fish caught during the tourney by Cominsky and Runyon, according to The Herald. Inside the body of the walleye fish were several lead weights and filets from other fish. The artificially enhanced fish netted the alleged cheating duo a tournament win.

Competitors at the Lake Erie Walleye Trail Championship wanted to tear the purported cheaters to pieces, but police officers were nearby.

The red-handed Runyon appears to play coy as the mob shouts at him, "You should be in jail!"

A guy is heard telling Runyon, "You f***ed over a lot of people, man."

Someone else yells, "You got thousands of f***ing dollars, you stole from everyone!"

Another accused the fishing duo of "f***ing theft." Someone else suggests that the police be called and a report filed.

At one point in the video, it appears that a violent row is about to break out, but Fischer instructed Runyon to leave and tells everyone else to scale back their anger.

There were reportedly rumors of the fishing couple cheating in other tournaments, as one man screamed, "They've been doing this s**t for years!"

The Toledo Blade reported, "The duo weighed in the apparent top catch in last year's Lake Erie Fall Brawl and made claim for the more than $100K attached to that finish, but then were disqualified. When the tournament director at the time offered no explanation or clarity other than to say one of them had failed the polygraph, the tournament lacked the transparency it so desperately needed."

Cominsky and Runyon had led the season for team of the year.

Fischer responded to the cheating scandal in a Facebook post, "Disgusted guys and gals, I’m sorry for letting you down for so long and I’m glad I caught cheating taking place in YOUR LEWT at the same time."

Vice President Kamala Harris calls the US Supreme Court 'an activist court,' citing abortion ruling

Vice President Kamala Harris has said that she believes the U.S. Supreme Court is "an activist court."

When "Meet the Press" moderator Chuck Todd pressed Harris to explain what she meant by the statement, she said, "we had an establish right for almost half a century, which is the right of women to make decisions about their own body, as an extension of what we have decided to be the privacy rights to which all people are entitled, and this court took that constitutional right away. And we are suffering as a nation because of it. That causes me great concern about the integrity of the court overall," Harris noted.

VP Harris: 'This Is An Activist Court,' Dobbs Decision Led To 'Suffering' www.youtube.com

Earlier this year, the Supreme Court issued a ruling that overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling.

"Abortion represents a profound moral question. The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives," the opinion stated.

While the decision enabled states to enact abortion bans, the ruling did nothing to block states from continuing to allow abortions.

Some Democratic pro-choice proponents bemoaned the ruling as a "dark day" for the nation.

"So, the court wasn't activist when it allowed the killing of the unborn, but was suddenly activist when it didn't?" Billy Hallowell tweeted when sharing a Fox News article about the vice president's comments about the high court. "Seems like pretty poor argumentation. And are we now OK with questioning and diminishing our institutions in this way?"

Nancy Pelosi ridiculed for 'cringe' St. Patrick's Day recitation of Bono poem supporting Ukraine

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was roasted on social media after she recited what many users said was a "cringe" poem written by U2's Bono.

What are the details?

Pelosi read the poem during the Friends of Ireland luncheon at the U.S. Capitol on Thursday as an apparent tribute to Ukraine's fight against Russian invaders.

“Oh St. Patrick, he drove out the snakes with his prayers, but that’s not all it takes,” Pelosi began. “With the smoke symbolizes an evil that arises and hides in your heart as it breaks, and the evil risen from the darkness that lives in some men, but in sorrow and fear, that’s when saints can appear. You drive out those old snakes once again, and they struggle for us to be free from the psycho in this human family.”

“Ireland’s sorrow and pain is now the Ukraine and St. Patrick’s name is now Zelenskyy,” she concluded after adding that Ireland native Bono — whose real name is Paul David Hewson — has "been a very Irish part of our lives."

Following the poem's conclusion, she proudly remarked, "How about that?"
