Former NBC exec deletes post saying Barron Trump is 'fair game now' that he's 18: 'I don't wish physical harm on anyone'

A former NBC executive deleted a social media post saying Barron Trump — son of former President Donald Trump — is "fair game now" that he turned 18 years old, Fox News reported.

Mike Sington, a retired NBCUniversal senior executive, marked Barron Trump's birthday Wednesday with a photo of Barron and his father, along with the following message: "Barron Trump turns 18 today. He's fair game now," the cable network said.

After a flurry of outrage, Sington deleted the post from X and told Newsweek, "I posted he was 'fair game' now, meaning, as an adult, he's 'fair game' for criticism from the press. Someone pointed out to me 'fair game' could mean fair game to be harmed. I don't wish physical harm on anyone, so I took it down. I listen to the comments and criticism I receive."

Fox News said the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

It wasn't the first shot taken at Barron Trump:

  • Shortly after Donald Trump's 2016 election victory, Rosie O'Donnell was criticized after tweeting, "Barron Trump Autistic? If so — what an amazing opportunity to bring attention to the AUTISM epidemic." O'Donnell claimed it wasn't a slight against Barron.
  • Actor Peter Fonda wrote in a since-deleted 2018 tweet that "we should rip Barron Trump from his mother's arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles and see if mother will stand up against the giant a**hole she is married to." Fonda later apologized.
  • Fox News said former "Saturday Night Live" writer Katie Rich was suspended from the show in 2018 for a post saying Barron would be the country's "first homeschool shooter."
  • Ohio Democrats in 2019 used the Special Olympics to mock Barron, with one saying he may "need" the organization one day.
  • On Father's Day 2020, Food Network host John Henson noted in a since-deleted tweet: "I hope Barron gets to spend today with whoever his dad is." Mika Brzezinski appeared to suggest something similar during a 2019 episode of MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

‘Can’t Even Call A Ceasefire On His Own Cake’: Internet Reacts To Biden’s Blazing Birthday

'Turns out on your 146th birthday, you run out of space for candles'

Trump shares note from his personal physician on Biden's birthday

President Joe Biden, the oldest president in U.S. history, turned 81 years old on Monday. And the very same day, former President Donald Trump, who is currently 77, shared a note in which his personal physician Bruce Aronwald opined that Trump is "in excellent health."

"I have been President Donald J. Trump's personal physician since 2021. During this time, I have conducted several comprehensive examinations, the most recent being September 13, 2023, and have supervised specialist consultations along with ancillary testing for screening and preventative health maintenance," Aronwald wrote.

"I am pleased to report that President Trump's overall health is excellent. His physical exams were well within the normal range and his cognitive exams were exceptional. In addition, his most recent extensive laboratory analysis remains well within normal limits and was even more favorable than prior testing in some of the most significant parameters, most likley secondary to weight reduction.

"Cardiovascular studies are all normal and cancer screening tests are all negative. President Trump has reduced his weight through an improved diet and continued daily physical activity, while maintaining a rigourous schedule. It is my opinion that President Trump is currently in excellent health, and with his continued interest in preventative health monitoring and maintenance, he will continue to enjoy a healthy active lifestyle for years to come," Aronwald noted.

Trump and Biden are both crushing their respective presidential primary competitors in polls, and therefore appear to be poised to easily clinch their respective parties' 2024 presidential nominations next year.

Biden would be 86 by the end of a second term in office, while Trump would be 82.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott endorsed Trump for president on Sunday. Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for president earlier this month.

Mitch McConnell says Amy Coney Barrett's Supreme Court confirmation was 'wonderful birthday present' for Hillary Clinton

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell took an opportunity to poke some fun at Hillary Clinton by saying Amy Coney Barrett's confirmation to the Supreme Court on Monday was a "wonderful birthday present" for the former Democratic presidential nominee.

What are the details?

"It was a wonderful birthday present for Hillary Clinton to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court Monday night on her birthday," McConnell (R-Ky.) said during a Wednesday campaign stop in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, the New York Post reported. "Oh, I'm sure she was so grateful, so grateful."

It should come as no surprise that Clinton — who turned 73 years old — was not particularly in favor of Barrett's confirmation.

And she took some time out on her birthday to blast the move on Twitter:

It is an insult to the American people that the GOP is ramming through a Supreme Court justice with just eight days… https://t.co/X9MzMm2HdJ
— Hillary Clinton (@Hillary Clinton)1603728022.0

"It is an insult to the American people that the GOP is ramming through a Supreme Court justice with just eight days until the end of an election in which nearly 60 million people have already voted," she wrote.

'I'm sorry that this tragic day in American history has landed on your birthday'

Far-left actress Debra Messing — who earlier this year tweeted a doctored image likening President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler and even called it a "dog whistle to white nationalists and Nazis" — didn't miss that Barrett's confirmation came on Clinton's birthday. And she was very sorry about that:

Im sorry that this tragic day in American history has landed on your birthday. I, for one, am grateful for you, a… https://t.co/b6fD8MclJ9
— Debra Messing✍🏻 (@Debra Messing✍🏻)1603758269.0

"I'm sorry that this tragic day in American history has landed on your birthday," she wrote. " I, for one, am grateful for you, and all that you have given our country. Happy birthday. May this next year be one of enlightment [sic] and healing."

But like McConnell, House Judiciary Committee Republicans couldn't resist using Barrett's confirmation to mock Clinton on her birthday:

Amy Coney Barrett, confirmed. Happy Birthday, @HillaryClinton!
— House Judiciary GOP (@House Judiciary GOP)1603756993.0

Others tore into Clinton's "insult to the American people" tweet:

  • "The fact that you walk free is an insult to America," Errol Webber, a GOP U.S. House candidate, commented. "Happy Birthday, by the way, you demon!"
  • "You're just pissed it's happening on your birthday... " another commenter said. "But the rest of us absolutely LOVE it."

And this guy chimed in, too:
