Facebook user threatens to kill black people at Alabama fair, adds 'white power' message and Confederate flag. Cops say black man is behind post.

An 18-year-old black man is behind a Facebook post that promised to kill black people at an Alabama fair and used white supremacist imagery, police told AL.com.

What are the details?

The Facebook user indicated in the post that he and his friends “are coming to [the] Opelika Alabama fair to kill every NEGRO that we lay eye contact on so be prepared. WHITE POWER," the outlet said, adding that the poster’s profile included the Confederate battle flag.

Opelika police said they launched an investigation Sept. 19 after learning about the "racially inflammatory" post that included a threat to "shoot attendees of a certain demographic at the upcoming Lee County Fair."

The department added that it "takes threats like these very seriously" and that it would "provide additional officers for security to ensure the safety of all fair attendees."

A day later, police said they had a suspect.

"Officials were able to trace the social media account to a residence in Lafayette, AL," police said. "Through the investigation, 18-year-old Pharrell Smith was developed as a suspect." Lafayette police arrested Smith on "unrelated charges" on Oct. 6, police said.

Opelika police added that once he's released from the custody of Lafayette police, Smith would be extradited to Lee County and arrested on a terroristic threat charge.

Police added that those with information on the case can contact the Opelika Police Department Detective Division at 334-705-5220 or the Secret Witness Hotline at 334-745-8665 — and anonymous tips can be submitted through the Opelika Police Mobile App.

Black man caught on video repeatedly calling Asian cop a 'ch**k' in front of other officers, excuses it by saying 'black people can't be racist'

A black man was caught on video repeatedly calling an Asian New York City police officer a "f***in' ch**k" in front about six other officers on a street in Washington Square Park over the weekend, the New York Post reported.

What are the details?

The paper said the officers were in the area due to protests in the park, and the video begins with the furious man standing on a sidewalk and facing down an officer in the street and using profanity while repeatedly using an Asian slur against him.

The Post said the individual taking video was livestreaming from the park and turned the camera away when the officer approached the man and apparently told him to stay on the sidewalk.

"I'm on the sidewalk, what you gonna do? What's your name?" the man asked, according to the paper, although those questions can't be heard on the below video.

But when the clip starts, the man can be heard saying, "You're not even from this country. You piece of s**t! You f***in' ch**k! You f***in' ch**k! You f***in' ch**k! He's a ch**k! Get the f*** outta here, you ch**k! Get the f*** outta here!"

Another officer tells the man to stay on the sidewalk and motions the other officers — including the Asian officer — to keep on walking down the street. But the "ch**k" references keep coming.

At one point a white man on a bicycle rides by the scene and rips into the black man for using a racial slur.

"Why you calling people ch**ks, man? F*** you!" the white man on the bicycle yells.

Image source: Twitter video screenshot via @NYCPBA

"Suck my d***!" the black man replies.

"No, f*** you!" the white man shoots back as he's further down the sidewalk.

As the black man continues to tell the white man to "suck my d***," the white man yells several times to "stop calling people ch**ks, man, that's f***ed up!"

As the white man rides away, he calls the black man a "racist f***" and a "racist piece of s**t."

'Black people can't be racist'

But the black man yells back that "black people can't be racist" — and continues to berate and use slurs and profanity against the Asian officer while following the group of police and trying to bait them: "What you wanna do? What you wanna do?"

Apparently the Asian officer told him to watch his mouth because the man replied, "Watch my mouth for what, you ch**k? Watch my mouth for what, you ch**k? ... Go look me up, you f***in' ch**k! ... I work for the state, you piece of s**t! I pay your f***in' salary! You f***in' bitch ass motherf***er! I'm out here all night, by myself — I ain't gotta have 100 people with me! ... How 'bout that?"

By the end of the clip when the police were gone, the man bizarrely claims that his tirade didn't "go out to all Asian people."

Image source: Twitter video screenshot via @NYCPBA

He adds, "Lemme get this straight. I'm talkin' about the f***in' cops. ... The cops are not our friends. You understand? I wanna get that clear 'cuz [the white man on the bicycle] rolled by and said, 'Yo, you racist.' Black people cannot be racist!"

Here's the video. Content warning: Profanity and racial slurs:

What did the NYPD have to say?

"Each day, NYPD officers are expected to maintain a level of professionalism under an array of difficult circumstances," a police spokeswoman told the Post. "In this instance, an Asian police officer was subjected to an ugly onslaught of racial slurs and maintained his composure. However, it is disturbing to see this type of language used against any Asian person in light of the disturbing increase of Asian hate crimes citywide."

The Asian Jade Society — NYPD Asian officers who "share common interests, represent the Asian community within the department with a unified front, and provide support for one another" — responded in a tweet that it's "appalled by another one of these blatant attacks of derogatory slurs and pure racism directed towards one of our own Asian officers."

The paper added that it wasn't clear if the man yelling in the video was among those who clashed with and were forced out of the park by police.

'Central Park Karen' underwent 'psychoeducation about racial equality' after calling 911 on black man last year — so her case was just dismissed

The white woman notoriously dubbed "Central Park Karen" for calling 911 on a black man who asked her to leash her dog last year in Central Park underwent "psychoeducation about racial equality" — five therapy sessions "designed for introspection and progress" — and so her case was dropped Tuesday, the New York Post reported.

What are the details?

Amy Cooper, who told the police dispatcher she was being threatened, faced up to a year in prison on a charge of making a false report.

Image source: Twitter video screenshot via @melodyMcooper

But the paper said a judge granted Manhattan prosecutors' request to throw out the case after Cooper completed five therapy sessions "designed for introspection and progress," Assistant District Attorney Joan Illuzzi-Orbon said at a virtual hearing.

"They sent her to Critical Therapy Center … who provided psychoeducation and therapy services which focused on the ways in which Ms. Cooper could appreciate that racial identities shape our lives, but we cannot use them to harm ourselves or others," Illuzzi-Orbon told Manhattan Criminal Court Justice Anne Swern, according to the Post. "Psychoeducation about racial equality is woven into each therapy session to prompt understanding and reflection."

Illuzzi-Orbon also said the diversion program Cooper completed with Manhattan Justice Opportunities was a punishment "consistent" with other misdemeanor cases, the paper said.

"Ms. Cooper's therapist reported that it was a moving experience, and Ms. Cooper learned a lot in their sessions together," the prosecutor said during the hearing, according to the Post.

The paper said when Cooper was asked if she wanted to be heard, she told the judge, "No, your honor." Her lawyer also declined to speak but said he agreed with prosecutors, the Post added.

Swern then dismissed and sealed her case, the paper said.

What's the background?

Video of the May 2019 incident was posted to Twitter by the black man's sister. Cooper was heard saying, "I'm going to tell them there's an African American man threatening my life." Which is exactly what she said on the 911 call:

Oh, when Karens take a walk with their dogs off leash in the famous Bramble in NY’s Central Park, where it is clear… https://t.co/zFb3O0cClz
— Melody Cooper (@Melody Cooper)1590426192.0

Cooper later told CNN she regretted calling the police: "It was unacceptable, and words are just words, but I can't undo what I did. I sincerely and humbly apologize to everyone, especially to that man and his family."

She added, "I'm not a racist. I did not mean to harm that man in any way."

But shortly after the incident Cooper was fired from her job at Franklin Templeton Investments, which said, "We do not tolerate racism of any kind."

In addition, Christian Cooper — the black man in question in the cellphone video — told people to stop making death threats against Amy Cooper for her actions that he called "definitely racist."

Christian Cooper also refused to cooperate in the prosecution, saying "she's already paid a steep price" for her behavior, the Post reported.

Black motorist goes ballistic on Black Lives Matter protesters blocking street: 'I'm blacker than you!'

A black motorist was captured on video chewing out a large group of Black Lives Matter protesters who were blocking a street Thursday in Tacoma, Washington.

What happened?

The clip initially shows the motorist — wearing a red shirt, jeans, and dark baseball cap — standing next to the driver-side door of a blue pickup truck at an intersection that the protesters appear to have blocked. The protesters are yelling at him — and he's yelling right back.

Image source: Twitter video screenshot via @KittyLists

Much of what's said isn't clear, but it appears the furious motorist is telling protesters that their militancy is having a negative impact on the black lives they supposedly care about.

"I'm blacker than you!" the motorist hollers at the group. "I'm blacker than you!"

Image source: Twitter video screenshot via @KittyLists

One of the protesters is heard on the clip hilariously pleading several times to "de-escalate!" before she apparently starts fearing for her comrades' safety and yells at the motorist to "stop, man!" and "just get in your f***ing truck and go!"

As the video continues, things heat up even more as other black people appear to take the motorist's side and confront the Black Lives Matter group.

Black Lives Matter protesters in Tacoma blocked southbound Interstate 5 later Thursday evening, the News Tribune reported.

Earlier, they rallied in front of Tacoma police headquarters, the paper said, adding that some signs referenced Manuel Ellis, a Tacoma man who died while being restrained by Tacoma police in March.

The News Tribune said at about 5:30 p.m. the protesters began moving down South Pine Street toward South 38th Street and then started to block traffic.

A police spokeswoman told the paper that members moved onto I-5 sometime after 7 p.m.

Indeed, the below clip shows many of the same members of the Black Lives Matter group who were arguing with the motorist at the intersection now standing in the freeway lanes and chanting "Hands up! Don't shoot!" and "No justice, no peace!"

'At some point, they're gonna sit at the wrong table': Black civil rights official predicts 'violence' against protesters who harass diners

A black civil rights official predicted to "Fox & Friends" Friday that "violence" awaits "intimidators" who've been harassing restaurant diners as part of protests against alleged racial injustice and police brutality.

What are the details?

Peter Kirsanow, a member of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, told the network that protesters who have been harassing easily picked-on diners — many of them elderly — will soon overplay their hand: "It's not gonna end well at some point. At some point, they're gonna sit at the wrong table, and it's gonna have some violence."

Reacting to video of two elderly diners harassed and threatened by protesters in St. Petersburg, Florida, hours after a grand jury on Wednesday decided to not charge police in connection to Breonna Taylor's shooting death, Kirsanow took the bullying leftists to task.

"This type of behavior obviously is unjustified, but it's rationalized by these protesters — and they're not even protesters: They're intimidators, disruptors of the peace, in some cases they engage in overt violence, but it's rationalized by them because of this false narrative of systemic racism and that cops are disproportionately shooting blacks," he told "Fox & Friends."

What happened to the elderly diners?

Video of the St. Petersburg incident shows a mob of protesters repeatedly chanting, "Stand up, fight back!" while facing diners at a restaurant before one apparent activist pulls up a seat at a table occupied by an older man and woman.

The woman at the table quickly stands up and says, "Nope, this is my table" and unsuccessfully attempts to tip the protester out of the chair before he slams it back down — and then two more activists fill the remaining empty seats while flashing signs and joining the chant. Additional activists followed and stood to surround the couple.

One activist can be heard telling the man, "Why don't you shut up? Who the f*** you think you're talking to?" before the first activist who stole a seat told the woman, "I'll knock your old-ass boyfriend the f*** out!" and accused her of being a "wild Karen in her natural f***ing habitat!"

"Fox & Friends" said the video quickly went viral and received more than 1.8 million views on Twitter in under 12 hours.

Not the first time

The St. Pete bullied diners weren't the first victims of this type of left-wing intimidation.

A group of leftist militants were caught on video harassing Washington, D.C., restaurant patrons late last month, apparently because they refused to raise their fists in Black Lives Matter solidarity like other patrons seated around them.

Kirsanow also noted in his "Fox & Friends" interview that there's no data showing that black people are disproportionately targeted in police shootings and that media members have handled police shootings of unarmed black people "irresponsibly."

And as for the charge that "systemic racism" is infecting our country, he said that "the evidence, the data, for decades now, has been irrefutable that that is not the case."

"There's a huge cohort of individuals that leap on the initially reported facts and perpetuate them because many of the facts related to George Floyd, for example, Breonna Taylor, began to come out, but the media wasn't reporting them, and this type of hysteria develops because of a false narrative, and it needs to be corrected because something is going to happen soon," Kirsanow added. "We've already seen billions of dollars' worth of property damage, in large part because of the belief in this false narrative."

Uncle Ben's rice finally has new name after old moniker and logo deemed racially insensitive

Uncle Ben's rice finally has a new name after its old moniker and instantly recognizable logo was deemed racially insensitive amid the George Floyd rioting and a flurry of similar moves to amend the names of other products in the name of political correctness.

What are the details?

The brand now will be called Ben's Original and no longer will use the image of a black man on its boxes, the New York Daily News reported, citing a Wednesday announcement from the product's parent company Mars Inc.

The new logo simply reads "Ben's Original" in blue lettering over an orange background — which are the longtime colors of the rice brand.

"We listened to our associates and our customers, and the time is right to make meaningful changes across society," Mars Food executive Fiona Dawson said in a statement, according to the Daily News. "When you are making these changes, you are not going to please everyone. But it's about doing the right thing, not the easy thing."

In June, Mars Inc., announced it would change the rice's moniker in order to stand against racial stereotypes in advertising.

The rice has been sold in the United States under the Uncle Ben's brand since 1947.

"Racism has no place in society," a portion of the company's statement read in June. "We stand in solidarity with the Black community, or Associates, and our partners in the fight for social justice. We know to make the systemic change needed, it's going to take a collective effort from all of us — individuals, communities, and organizations of all sizes around the world."

Anything else?

Also over the summer, Quaker Oats announced that the famous Aunt Jemima brand of breakfast syrup and pancake mix — which is 130 years old — would be going away because it perpetuates racial stereotypes.

Eskimo Pie also planned on changing its name. And L'Oreal, the world's largest cosmetic and beauty company, said it would stop using the word "whitening" on its products — and the Houston Association of Realtors decided to axe the word "master" in descriptions of bedrooms and bathrooms on real estate listings; in its place will be the term "primary."

Also, the Court of Master Sommeliers, which "sets the global standard of excellence for beverage service within the hospitality industry," will stop using the term "master sommelier."

Thugs with rifles, handguns stare down sheriff's vehicle during Kenosha rioting — then run for cover after tear gas greeting

During rioting Sunday night after a police-involved shooting of a black man in Kenosha, Wisconsin, cellphone video captured a surreal scene: A group of apparent street fighters — some armed with rifles and handguns — staring down a sheriff's vehicle as fires burned in the background.

What are the details?

The clip begins with a group numbering around dozen standing in the street opposite the sheriff's vehicle, which appears to be armored; a larger group stands farther away.

"You guys are instigating!" one person yells at the vehicle as it sits in the street with its lights flashing.

Then a red-shirted hippie holding a rifle runs from in front of the vehicle to the side and assumes a kind of battle stance, barking at his comrades that the deputies are ready to "gas us!" Someone else near him appears to be holding a handgun:

Someone a greater distance away ironically hollers at the deputies that they're "f***in' cowards!"

At one point the peaceful protester comes dangerously close to pointing his rifle at the vehicle — and is quickly reminded by one of his left-wing buddies not to do so.

So he wisely moves to the grass median and stands near another individual also holding a rifle:

But he's correct about what law enforcement is about to bring forth: Soon a deputy opens a hatch on the roof and tosses a tear gas canister on the street.

And the whole group scatters.

Several loud pops are heard as the crowd clears the street, and someone actually yells "f***in' pussies!" at the vehicle now in motion.

Whether it was the same guy who called the deputies "f***in' cowards" is anyone's guess, but the vocabulary is strikingly similar.

Texas school district blasted for cartoon comparing police to KKK, slave owners that was part of student assignment

A Texas public school district is feeling the heat after some students were given an assignment that included a political cartoon likening police officers to slave owners and Ku Klux Klan members, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.

What are the details?

Officials with the Wylie Independent School District, which is north of Dallas, told the paper the assignment was unauthorized.

The five-panel cartoon that came with it first shows a slave ship officer with his knee on a black man's neck — and then similar images moving forward in time, including a KKK member with his knee on a black man's neck and what appears to be a sheriff's deputy with his knee on a black man's neck in front of a "white only" sign, ending with a cop with his knee on a black man's neck. Throughout the black man says, "I can't breathe."

The cartoon presumably is a reaction to George Floyd's death while in custody of Minneapolis police in May, which led to nationwide protests and rioting.

The assignment was given in a Cooper Junior High social studies class, where students were learning about the Bill of Rights, and the political cartoon was supposed to teach them about political satire, Wylie ISD spokesperson Ian Halperin told the Star-Telegram, adding that the cartoon chosen by the unnamed teacher wasn't part of the district's curriculum.

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott on Sunday tweeted that the teacher should be fired:

A teacher in a Texas public school comparing police officers to the KKK is beyond unacceptable. It’s the opposite… https://t.co/PrLGkazbKN
— Greg Abbott (@Greg Abbott)1598203822.0

'Abhorrent and disturbing'

The assignment was taken down after social media backlash and parental concern, the paper said.

"In hindsight, we say that they could have picked a more balanced approach," Halperin told the Star-Telegram. "Editorial cartoons have a place in education, but try to present a more balanced approach as an educator."

Halperin added to the paper that the district has taken no disciplinary action as the situation is still under review, but officials have met with staff to provide them with better ways to present material under the district's guidelines.

Joe Gamaldi, vice president of the National Fraternal Order of Police, sent a letter to Wylie ISD superintendent David Vinson saying the assignment was "abhorrent and disturbing," the Star-Telegram reported.

In the letter, Gamaldi said law enforcement tries to create better relationships with children and teenagers every day, but their work becomes difficult when teachers present divisive material to students, the paper said.

The NFOP then tweeted that the district issued an apology and would issue one to parents as well, the Star-Telegram added.

"We are willing to sit down with anyone and have a fact-based conversation about our profession, but divisiveness like your teachers showed does nothing to move that conversation forward," Gamaldi wrote, according to the paper.

'Don't indoctrinate our children to think this way'

Wylie resident Amber Jennings told the Star-Telegram that teachers shouldn't be handing out such material, especially when the recipients are 13- and 14-year-old students.

"Don't indoctrinate our children to think this way," Jennings added to the paper.

Jennings — who has two kids in the district but not at Cooper — added to the Star-Telegram that she's taught her children to respect their elders, including police officers, and whatever opinions they develop about police should happen without others forcing it on them.

Wylie Police Chief Anthony Henderson said in a statement that his department works to foster a positive relationship in the community, and this assignment undermines and hurts the relationship it's worked to build with students, the paper said.

"The last thing we want is for our young people to be scared to talk to us or confide in us," Henderson added to the Star-Telegram.

VIDEO: Mob cheers when cop gets 'bricked' in head, falls face-first on Kenosha street amid violent outrage over police shooting

Cellphone video captured the moment a law enforcement officer fell face-first on a Kenosha, Wisconsin, street, apparently after being hit in the head with an object Sunday night amid violent outrage over a police-involved shooting of a black man hours earlier.

The clip shows the chaotic scene on a residential street: At least two fires and scuffles on front lawns as a crowd mills around a few officers.

Officers then appear to respond to a crashing sound and move down the street in front of a police cruiser when a thud is heard and one officer falls face-first on the street.

Onlookers at first react in shock as fellow officers attend to the injured officer: "He just got bricked! He just got bricked!" one observer exclaims.

But when the mob begins to realize that the victim is a law enforcement officer, one person begins to applaud — and then loud cheering and hooting and hollering are heard.
