Can decriminalization fix America’s drug crisis?

It’s no secret America has a drug problem. Last year, there were more than 100,000 overdose deaths in America, largely attributed to fentanyl. Over the past few decades, American cities have struggled to grapple with this crisis. Instead of enforcing existing drug laws and cracking down on crime, some have chosen a different path: decriminalization.

Author and podcast host Christina Dent recently joined "Relatable" with Allie Beth Stuckey to advocate for the decriminalization of drugs as a solution to America’s growing addiction crisis. Dent pushes a “health-centered approach” as opposed to a “criminal justice approach.” The former, according to Dent, addresses the root cause of addiction, while the latter could do more harm than good.

Dent’s opinion was largely formed through her experience with her adopted son’s biological mom, who was an addict. Had her son’s biological mother been imprisoned for her drug use, Dent’s son never would have had a relationship with her, and incarceration would have done nothing to help her addiction.

It’s true that throwing drug users in jail does little to help their addictions and could even harm them due to the availability of drugs in prisons. However, the ambiguous definition of “decriminalization” paired with the troubling results seen in American cities that have attempted such policies raises questions about the efficacy and safety of going this route.

Take Oregon, for example. In 2020, voters overwhelmingly passed a resolution that decriminalized possession of hard drugs. Last month, Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek (D) signed a bill that reversed this measure and re-criminalized possessing small amounts of hard drugs, making it a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail. The original measure failed largely due to botched implementation of mental health and treatment services, sparks in overdoses due to fentanyl, increased homelessness, and worsening public drug use. A recent report shows Oregon is one of the top ten most dangerous states in the country — it’s hard to imagine public drug use did not play a part in Oregon’s worsening crime.

In the wake of impeachment inquiry announcement, here’s a RECAP of everything we know Joe Biden did

Yesterday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced that a formal impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden’s involvement in Hunter Biden’s business dealings would soon commence.

All we have to say is: it’s about time.

Mark Levin agrees and recaps everything we already know about Sleepy Joe, or shall we say Sneaky Joe?

“The Ukrainian prosecutor who was fired as a direct result of Joe Biden’s threatening to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid has specifically stated that he was investigating Burisma, the corrupt company that Hunter Biden was serving on,” Levin recalls, but “Joe obstructed that investigation.”

We also know that “Joe Biden spoke to an untold number of Hunter Biden’s foreign clients, including top officials with ties to the Communist Party regime in China.”

But it doesn’t end there.

“Joe Biden knew, as a matter of fact, that Hunter was representing officially, or even unofficially, numerous foreign businesses,” and “that’s more than enough ... to be required to register under FARA.”

“Therefore, Joe Biden assisted his son in violating FARA … he’s a co-conspirator,” Levin asserts.

We know that “Joe Biden’s staff and Hunter’s business associates were in constant contact” as well.

“I guess they were just buddies,” Levin jokes.

Barack Obama spotted with BLACK EYE and BANDAGED FINGERS — rumors abound

Barack Obama was spotted in public for the first time since the tragic (and mysterious) death of his personal chef, Tafari Campbell.

Only something wasn’t quite right.

Photographs show the former president’s eye looking bruised and his left fingers bandaged as he played golf.

“That’s really weird,” says Pat Gray.

Producer Kris Cruz has a theory that might explain Obama’s suspicious injuries.

Considering the speculation that Sasha, Obama’s youngest daughter, was “carrying on” with Campbell prior to his death, Kris thinks that “maybe [she] got knocked up.”

Add that to the fact that Sasha was seen over the weekend looking “very sad,” and Kris is confident his theory has merit.

But then Pat plays an old recording of Obama talking about his two daughters, and it’s clear we’ll probably never be able to test Kris’ hypothesis.

“I’ve got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old,” Obama bellows. “I’m gonna’ teach them, first of all, about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”

“We’ll never know if she was pregnant, I’ll bet you that would be taken care of swiftly,” Pat says.

Regardless, there is no legitimate evidence that Barack’s minor injuries have anything to do with his former chef.

However, because “we’re lied to every single day,” says Pat, “people are going to speculate.”

Sunny Hostin of 'The View' ACCUSES Nikki Haley of trying to hide her heritage

"The View" co-host Sunny Hostin accused Nikki Haley of not leaning into her heritage because she goes by her middle name — Nikki.

Guest and political pundit Alyssa Farah Griffin was asked who might successfully challenge Donald Trump in 2024. Griffin mentioned Nikki Haley as a potential candidate, but Hostin jumped in and slammed the notion.

According to Hostin, Nikki is a "chameleon" who does not "lean into" her heritage enough to run for president.

"Stu Does America" host Stu Burguiere explained that Nikki's heritage had been a "central part" of Nikki's story. A story that Stu believes would be hailed by the ladies of "The View" as inspirational" if Nikki wasn't conservative. Haley's given name is Nimrata Nikki.

Nikki clapped back on Twitter: "Thanks for your concern, @Sunny. It's racist of you to judge my name. Nikki is an Indian name on my birth certificate—and I'm proud of that. What's sad is the left's hypocrisy towards conservative minorities. By the way, last I checked, Sunny isn't your birth name…."
