Aaron Rodgers tells Bill Maher partisanship 'f***ing ruined this country' — IMMEDIATELY triggers partisan mob

Bill Maher sat down with Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Sunday on his podcast “Club Random" to talk about everything from COVID-19 mandates to abortion to former president Donald Trump.

Throughout the podcast, Rodgers repeatedly condemned partisan politics, saying, "I don’t wanna be part of any politics at all. I believe what I believe. Most of it I based on my own personal version of common sense and I don’t believe in partisanship. Partisanship – two-party system has f***ing ruined this country.”

He and Maher also agreed that the debate surrounding COVID-19 vaccines, mandates, and lockdowns had become ridiculously politicized.

"This is ideology. This is not medicine, this is indoctrination," Maher said. "And to me, the frightening thing was never the disease itself. The frightening thing was how much you could get people so quickly to change their way of life."

"It was altruistic at first ... like, all right, take two weeks to flatten the curve, right? But then, just about every conspiracy theory came true. Vaccine mandates, vaccine passports ... lockdowns. And that's my whole problem. You know, I grew up in a small town, very little cases up in Chico, California, but all the small businesses? F***ing gone," Rodgers said. "What are we doing for them? What are we doing for the small businesses?"

"We passed out six trillion dollars, but the sad fact about that is that a very big, big, big chunk of it was just flat-out stolen," Maher added. "I mean, we spent more to keep people hiding under the bed than we did for World War II. World war II cost $4 trillion and we passed out almost $6 trillion for this. I mean, wow, talk about a country that's gone a little soft."

A video clip from the podcast shared on Twitter predictably drew the immediate ire of those who prefer political outrage to the open exchange of individual thoughts and ideas.

“@burackbobby_ Scary that so many people would change their lives because doing so might save lives? Or scary that so many refused to do so despite the fact that it might And no, no conspiracy theories came true.”

Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush will not seek a 16th term in office

Long-serving Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush of Illinois has revealed that he will not seek a 16th term in office.

While this decision means that his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives will end next year after 30 years of service, the congressman says that he will not be departing from public life.

The 75-year-old said that he will be working with congressional legislators, and that he is not retiring, but returning to his church, his family, and his passion.

The congressman is pastor of the Beloved Community Christian Church of God in Christ, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

“First of all, I'm not retiring man, alright?" he said during an interview, according to POLITICO. "I am not ready to go off to some spot in the sun, sit on nobody's beach drinking tequila."

Democrats likely aren't in any danger of losing the congressional seat. The district is strongly Democratic, according to the Sun-Times

Rush, who defeated then-Illinois state senator Barack Obama during a 2000 congressional primary, is the only individual ever to emerge victorious against Obama during an election contest, according to the Associated Press. Obama later served as a U.S. Senator and eventually became the President of the United States.

"Congressman Bobby Rush has been a champion of civil rights, who has devoted his entire life to the fight for racial justice. When he retires at the end of his term, Congress, his constituents and the country will deeply miss his prayerful and powerful voice for justice in the House," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said in a statement. "I wish him and his dear wife Paulette best wishes as they prepare to begin their next chapter with his family and with his Church."

After nearly three decades in Congress, I have been reassigned. While I will not be running for a 16th term, let me make it clear that I am not retiring — I am returning.

I’m returning home, returning to my church, and returning to my family and grandchildren. My calling to a life of service is stronger than ever. I will remain in public life, fighting for equity and justice for and within my community — with the gospel of Jesus Christ and with the learned tools I have gained in a lifetime of public service. ( 2/2)pic.twitter.com/m2UyqOo7gn

Louisville police officer goes viral after giving advice to 'armed MAGA militia'

A Louisville, Kentucky, police officer has gone viral in a video of him offering advice to what some social media users refer to as an "armed MAGA militia."

What are the details?

In a video, the unidentified officer can be seen speaking to members of what appears to be a militia group.

The group claimed they were attending a Louisville protest in response to the indictment against former Louisville police officer Brett Hankison connected to the case of the death of Breonna Taylor.

In the video, the officer can be heard telling the group that they should avoid certain areas of Louisville and offered ideas on where the group should stand. He then warned them that if they didn't follow his instructions, they would be arrested.

"If you go down there, if you choose to, there is a grassy area along the north side of the road," the officer says.

"Those people who want to come down today to exercise your Second Amendment rights or your First Amendment rights —"

A female militia member interjected, "We're not protesters. That's not what we're here for, that's why we're sitting over here."

"I'm going to watch over and protect everybody," he continued. "That's all I do, right? Just be prepared later on today. There will be several hundred, several thousand [demonstrators]. ... But don't try to come on Central, and don't try to take that south sidewalk. I don't want any of that kind of stuff to happen, OK?"

The female responded, "We're here for y'all, we're just here on standby. We're not out there in that rally, we don't want to be in that rally, because last time we kinda got shoved, like we were counterprotesters, and that's not what we do."

The officer adds, "I just wanted to make sure you knew that don't try to come to those areas. Anybody that tries to come in there is going to have a problem."

Twitter user Bob the Comrade shared video of the incident on Twitter, captioning it, "#Louisville Police giving armed MAGA militia members directions on where to stand, what to expect, which streets to avoid."

Protesters hang hair dryers on tree outside Pelosi's house amid salon uproar

A group of women held a protest outside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) San Francisco home on Thursday, stringing a tree outside with hair dryers and chanting about freedom as the Democrat faces backlash for being busted in a salon in violation of the city's coronavirus restrictions while citizens are prohibited from doing so.

What are the details?

In footage taken by local CBS affiliate KPIX-TV, the demonstrators can be seen hanging blow dryers, an American flag, and other adornments from the tree to create their display. Some of them wore rollers in their hair, and one can be heard declaring, "It's a freedom tree, everybody!"

KPIX producer Bobby Tooke posted the footage on Twitter, reporting, "Protestors gather outside of @SpeakerPelosi house in #SanFrancisco. They chant about freedom and place hair dryers on a tree."

Another clip of the protest shared by the San Francisco Chronicle shows a demonstrator telling the group, ..."To gather, to make sure everybody has an opportunity to earn a living and feed their families." The women then cheer and another adds, "The government needs to stay out of it."

Reporter Jessica Christian tweeted, "None of these demonstrators in front of Nancy Pelosi's home are salon owners or workers. They've all described themselves 'angry salon customers' who want to get their hair and nails done."

Pelosi was caught visiting eSalon in San Francisco on Monday during an appointment solicited by her assistant with a stylist who rents a chair from the salon that has been shut down for months due to the city's stringent coronavirus regulations. The owner of eSalon, Erica Kious, called Pelosi's actions a "slap in the face," saying her business would likely not survive due to local regulations imposed by Democratic leaders.

The speaker's salon visit — which was first reported by Fox News — drew widespread backlash, but Pelosi was defiant when asked about it on Wednesday, blaming the salon and calling for them to apologize to her.

"I take responsibility for trusting the word of the neighborhood salon that I've been to over the years many times," Pelosi told reporters. "And that when they said 'We're able to accommodate people one person at a time' and that we can set up that time, I trusted that. As it turns out, it was a setup, so I take responsibility for falling for a setup."

She insisted, "I think that this salon owes me an apology, for setting [me] up."
