CNN host and reporter call out Biden for militaristic backdrop to his speech, and liberals are furious with them

CNN anchor Brianna Keilar and national affairs correspondent Jeff Zeleny criticized President Joe Biden for the militaristic backdrop of his anti-Republican speech, and many on the left were furious with them.

Biden addressed the nation with U.S. Marines standing behind him in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and issued a scathing rebuke of the Republican party and those Republicans who support President Donald Trump.

Keilar and Zeleny both decried the use of the military for a political speech.

"There’s nothing unusual or wrong with a President delivering a political speech — it’s inherent in the job description — but doing it against a backdrop of two Marines standing at attention and the Marine Band is a break with White House traditions," tweeted Zeleny with a photograph from Biden's speech.

Keilar issued a similar sentiment.

"Whatever you think of this speech the military is supposed to be apolitical. Positioning Marines in uniform behind President Biden for a political speech flies in the face of that," Keilar tweeted.

"It’s wrong when Democrats do it. It’s wrong when Republicans do it," she concluded.

The unhinged response

Some liberals and others criticized Zeleny and Keilar for not standing behind Biden and the theatrics of his speech.

"This dummy Brianna Keilar. They watched as their daddy trump did every illegal tactic while in White House but now these bag of clipped toenails have issue with decorum and history. F @CNN and their maga ceo," read one tweet.

"CNN's pundits have literally been posting the exact same s*** tonight. Brianna Keilar and Jeff Zeleny are f***ing pathetic. They want you to believe that a president shouldn't call out fascism, well those two push it. Lol," said another critic.

"Disgraceful, and anyone that stays at CNN and plays a part in helping fascists, should be ashamed." said another detractor.

"I’m not just going to unfollow you, I’m going to block you and the rest of CNN since it has been taken over by fascists," read another critical tweet.

Keilar responded to some of the criticism in a second tweet where she said, "It’s possible to agree with everything Biden said and still disagree with using Marines as backdrops for a political speech."

Progressives blast Bill Maher as 'transphobic' for saying it's 'trendy' to be LGBTQ, declaring children transitioning to transgender is not science-based

Bill Maher dared to discuss the sacred cow of transgenderism – which instantly caused progressives to attack the liberal talk show host.

During Friday night's episode of "Real Time with Bill Maher," the HBO host discussed a Gallup poll about the increase of Americans identifying as LGBT.

The survey found, "The percentage of U.S. adults who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or something other than heterosexual has increased to a new high of 7.1%, which is double the percentage from 2012, when Gallup first measured it."

The Gallup poll published in February said that each generation had increased by around double from the previous generation. There were 0.8% who identify as LGBT in the Silent Generation, 2.6% of Baby Boomers, 4.2% of Gen X, 10.5% of Millennials, and 20.8% of Generation Z.

Maher hypothesized that some of the massive increase in people identifying as LGBTQ could be because it is currently "trendy" to be considered as such.

“Yes, part of the rise in LGBT numbers is from people feeling free enough to tell it to a pollster and that’s all to the good, but some of it is — it’s trendy,” Maher said.

Maher said, "I'm just saying when things change this much, this fast, people are allowed to ask, 'What's up with that?' All the babies are in the wrong bodies?"

Maher questioned a recent statement by the American Civil Liberties Union that listed groups that would suffer "disproportionately harm" by abortion bans. The ACLU did not name women, but did mention "black, Indigenous, other people of color, the LGBTQ community, immigrants, young people, those working to make ends meet, and people with disabilities."

Maher asked, "Abortion rights affects gay and trans people more than you know – breeders?"

"I'm happy for LGBT folks that we now live in an age where they can live their authentic lives openly, and we should always be mindful of respecting and protecting," Maher stated. "But someone needs to say it. Not everything's about you."

Maher moved on to children transitioning – which he described as "literally experimenting on children."

He noted, "Maybe that's why Sweden and Finland have stopped giving puberty blockers to kids because we just don't know much about the long-term effects, although common sense should tell you that when you reverse the course of raging hormones, there's going to be problems."

Maher then listed the potential health risks of puberty blockers for children.

Maher then highlighted that no gay men were selected as a Grand Marshall for the upcoming New York City Pride Parade. "That’s where we are now – gay men are not hip enough for a Gay Pride Parade," he said.

Maher pointed out that the "prime directive" of teens is to do "anything to shock and challenge the squares who brought you up. It’s why nobody gets a nose ring at 56."

"If you attend a small dinner party of typically very liberal, upper-income Angelenos, it is not uncommon to hear parents who each have a trans kid having a conversation about that," Maher stated, then asked, "What are the odds of that happening in Youngstown, Ohio?"

Maher inquired, "If this spike in trans children is all-natural, why is it regional?"

"Either Ohio is shaming them or California is creating them," he continued. "If we can't admit that in certain enclaves, there was some level of trendiness to the idea of being anything other than straight, then this is not a serious, science-based discussion. It's a blow being struck in the culture wars using children as cannon fodder."

Maher cited Dr. Erica Anderson – a "prominent" transgender clinical physiologist – who believes some children are identifying as transgender due to the "influence of their peers and social media."

Maher explained that children are not just "gender-fluid," but "fluid about everything." He added, "If kids knew what they wanted to be at age 8 – the world would be filled with cowboys and princesses."

Maher joked, "If you are a man who wants to experience life without a pair of balls, you do not have to get surgery, you can get married."

According to multiple Twitter reactions, Maher's monologue about LGBTQ enraged progressives. They lashed out and labeled the liberal talk show host "transphobic" and a "transphobe."

A Twitter user accused Maher of spreading "Gay Replacement Theory."

One activist said Maher was "spewing dangerous and hateful rhetoric."

Some progressives demanded that HBO cancel "Real Time with Bill Maher."

There was at least one Twitter user insinuated that Maher be sentenced to death for the crime of being a transphobe.

Surfed through some channels on my hotel tv. Not shocked that Bill Maher was spreading more transphobic bullshit as I clicked past. @HBO it is long past time to dump this hateful bigot. If it wasn\u2019t transphobic it would be islamophobic. Get rid of it.

Top Biden economic adviser actually blames inflation crisis on Biden's 'effective response to the pandemic'

Cecilia Rouse, the top economic adviser to President Joe Biden, suggested this week that Americans are facing an economic crisis because Biden expertly handled the COVID-19 pandemic.

What are the details?

Americans are battling skyrocketing prices across the market in the face of record levels of inflation. But Rouse claimed on CNN's "New Day" Tuesday that the crisis is a net positive because adequately addressing the pandemic resulted in these economic woes.

The remarks came after CNN host Brianna Keilar asked Rouse about concerns from some Democrats about Biden's policies. Specifically, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Larry Summers, a top economic adviser to Barack Obama and treasury secretary under Bill Clinton, have attributed the inflation crisis to Biden's spending.

"I wonder, looking back, were Larry Summers and Joe Manchin right about spending and inflation?" Keilar asked.

Rouse responded that she was "not sure what the right is" and charged that economic problems facing Americans today are directly caused by the pandemic. When Keilar asked again, Rouse blamed an "effective" pandemic response.

"What we've seen is that all advanced countries are trying to address inflation, and they have historic levels of inflation. That has been the consequence of mounting an effective response to the pandemic," Rouse said, "because while we supported households and businesses, got shots into arms, which allowed people to start to come out of their homes and regain their lives, our supply chains could not support that demand."

"We are not alone; all advanced countries are addressing with this," she reiterated. "So this is a consequence of having an effective strategy against the pandemic."

With each passing month, inflation has trended in the wrong direction.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed Wednesday the consumer price index rose 8.3% last month compared to April 2021, which means inflation remains at a near 40-year high. The increase of inflation surpassed the Dow Jones prediction of 8.1%, CNBC reported, and was slightly less than the 8.5% seen in March.

The San Francisco Federal Reserve published a study in late March attributing the inflation crisis, in part, to Biden's spending policies.

"Estimates suggest that fiscal support measures designed to counteract the severity of the pandemic’s economic effect may have contributed to this divergence by raising inflation about 3 percentage points by the end of 2021," the study said.

The study also found that inflation is a problem in many developed nations. But the rate of inflation in the U.S. is significantly higher than in those countries.

Because of inflation, Americans should expect to spend an "extra $5,200 this year ($433 per month) compared to last year for the same consumption basket," Bloomberg reported.

Elon Musk responds amid uproar over his plans for Twitter: 'The extreme antibody reaction from those who fear free speech says it all'

Billionaire business magnate Elon Musk, who has reached a deal to buy Twitter and intends to make the platform a bastion for free speech, pushed back against those who have been sounding the alarm.

"The extreme antibody reaction from those who fear free speech says it all," Musk tweeted on Tuesday.

Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama responded, noting that Musk is "destroying their echo chamber that they believed was real life…and they’re not happy."

Musk explained in another tweet, "By 'free speech', I simply mean that which matches the law. I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law. If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people."

Musk's tweets sparked significant pushback on the social media platform.

"It's staggering how smug, arrogant, indifferent & dismissive you are to the concerns over #Twitter turning into a cesspool of unchecked threatening behavior, incitement of violence & deadly insurrections & attacks on our democracy--or "free speech" as you keep calling it," self-described "Proud democrat" Andy Ostroy tweeted.

"No one fears free speech. We're talking about the dismantling of HARASSMENT POLICIES on the Twitter Trust and Safety team that allow everyone to speak their mind. If you have to mislead to make your point, it's because you're lying," another individual tweeted.

Twitter announced on Monday that the company "has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by an entity wholly owned by Elon Musk, for $54.20 per share in cash in a transaction valued at approximately $44 billion."

Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who Musk dubbed "Senator Karen" last year, sounded the alarm on Monday, claiming that the "deal is dangerous for our democracy."

But many people who have been critical of Twitter for engaging in censorship are hopeful that Musk will reverse this trend and allow people to speak freely without getting slapped down by the social media company.

Left-wing CNN anchor: Fox News hosts decry 'sacrilege' of their burned Christmas tree — but believe Capitol riots 'not such a big deal'

CNN's left-wing anchor Brianna Keilar ripped Fox News hosts Thursday morning in a decidedly smug commentary, saying that they've been overzealous covering the "sacrilege" of Christmas tree set on fire outside their Manhattan offices this week — while also viewing the Jan. 6 Capitol riots as "not such a big deal."

What are the details?

Keilar began her segment noting that the Fox News' Christmas tree "went up in flames" in "an act of arson at a time where crime in America is escalating."

She then insisted that CNN "covered this story as a crime" and added that Fox News also did so — "extensively." In fact, Keilar said, Fox News made their burned tree “the centerpiece of their news day."

After a montage of Fox News hosts commenting on the crime, the camera turned back to Keilar: “Now, no one was injured in this incident. But they could have been. This is a serious incident. Obviously it's incredibly scary to feel that your workplace is under attack, unless ..."

Video of the Capitol riots briefly ran, and then the camera turned back to Keilar, who continued her sentence: "...your workplace is the Capitol. Then, according to many, many Fox hosts, it’s not such a big deal.”

Then more video ran showing Fox New hosts seeming to downplay the Capitol riots, after which Keilar went in the for kill.

“At Fox, when the target is a Christmas tree at their workplace, it is a sacrilege,” she began. “But when the target is the seat of American democracy, it’s not."

Keilar added: "The whole of Congress, as they certify a presidential election that was fair and secure; when the perpetrators are [then-President Donald] Trump supporters in the thousands, four of whom died that day; when the victims are police officers, 140 of whom were injured, and when five police officers have died in the wake of the attack, including four by suicide; when Fox's own colleagues had to take cover inside the Capitol complex on January 6, Fox downplays the attack. And in many cases, flat-out doesn't cover it; ignores that it ever happened."

Oh, but she wasn't done.

"Just imagine if Fox hosts could muster for an armed attack on the Capitol the same outrage that they did for their Christmas tree," Keilar concluded. "Perhaps some of the almost half of Republicans who think January 6 was a legitimate protest might actually see it for what it really was.”
