Brooklyn Center protesters pelt CNN crew with water bottle and eggs, chase them away: 'Get the f*** out of here!'

Unruly protesters at the Brooklyn Center Police District in Minnesota chased away a CNN camera crew that was covering the killing of 20-year-old Daunte Wright by former police Officer Kim Potter. The media members were pelted with eggs, and one CNN employee was knocked off his feet after being hit in the head with a water bottle on Wednesday.

While covering the fourth day of protests over the death of Wright, a CNN crew was harassed and assaulted by some of the people participating in the demonstration. Video taken by Washington Examiner reporter Nic Rowan shows a member of the CNN crew being struck in the head with a water bottle, which caused him to fall to the ground.

Some of the protesters mocked and laughed at the man being injured, "A bottle of water knocked you out?" Another person ridiculed the man by saying he was "fainting from some water."

Some demonstrators called for a medic to attend to the CNN employee, but he got up and said, "I'm fine. It's all good, people. No worries."

Footage from the tense scene shows protesters chase away the CNN crew. Someone in the crowd screams, "Get the f*** out of here!" Eggs were hurled at the CNN crew as they briskly walked to their car to escape the mob that was following them.

"We're leaving. We don't want any trouble," the man who was hit with the water bottle told the crowd. The vehicle was battered with eggs as they drove away.

VIDEO: Man unloads on CNN reporter over Minneapolis riots: 'All the extra s**t y'all do makes this worse'

An unnamed man went off on a CNN reporter in an expletive-laden rant as riots unfolded across Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Monday night following the officer-involved shooting death of Daunte Wright, which took place during a traffic stop.

Police say that the fatal shooting was an accident and that a responding officer mistook a handgun for a Taser.

What are the details?

During a live shot, an unidentified man approached CNN reporter Sara Sidner and insisted that the media's presence in Minneapolis was exacerbating riots.

"Now, you can see y'all be twisting up the story," the man told Sidner while appearing to try to take her microphone.

"All right, so tell me what you think about what's going on," Sidner responded.

Clearly agitated, the man explained, "What I think about this, it's all the press and all the extra s**t y'all do makes this worse. When people want to protest, they shouldn't do it in front of a f***in' police station, yeah, courthouse, s**t like that. You get what the f*** I'm saying? Y'all need to get up out of here withal that twisting the media and s**t."

He later added, “I don't care if you're live or not, get away from here with all that media s**t that y'all doing."

What else?

Wright was reportedly driving with his girlfriend when officers allegedly pulled him over for having expired tags on his vehicle. When officers discovered that Wright had an outstanding warrant, he reportedly struggled against police and was shot.

Bodycam footage showed the moment that the officer fired on Wright.

As previously reported by Blaze Media:

The officer tells Wright there is a warrant for his arrest then says "don't do it" before Wright appears to break free and get back into his vehicle, at which point a struggle occurred.

Another officer can be heard repeatedly shouting what sounds like "I'll tase you" and "Taser!" while pointing a handgun at Wright. The firearm discharges and the officer exclaims a profanity before saying, "I just shot him."

Gannon told reporters that the officer accidentally drew her handgun instead of her Taser and shot Wright.

"As you can hear, the officer, while struggling with Mr. Wright, shouts 'Taser, Taser' several times. That is part of the officer's training prior to deploying a Taser, which is a less lethal device," he said. "That is done to make her partners aware, as well as the subject, that a Taser deployment will be imminent.

"As I watch the video and listen to the officer's commands, it is my belief that the officer had the intention to deploy their Taser, but instead shot Mr. Wright with a single bullet," Gannon said.

After being shot, Wright drove off in the vehicle and traveled several blocks before striking another vehicle. He reportedly died at the scene.

Gannon called the shooting an "accidental discharge that resulted in the tragic death of Mr. Wright."
