Drag queen shown in Sen. Marco Rubio's campaign ad accuses the GOP lawmaker of 'hateful, homophobic, and transphobic bigotry'

Drag queen "Lil Miss Hot Mess" is accusing Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of "bigotry" after the lawmaker from Florida called out the radical left in a campaign ad that included a brief video clip of the cross dresser engaging in a story reading event for kids.

"The radical left will destroy America if we don't stop them," Rubio says in the campaign ad. "They indoctrinate children," Rubio says as a clip of Lil Miss Hot Mess briefly appears on the screen. Rubio then continues by saying that the left tries "to turn boys into girls," as an image of what appears to be another drag queen with a child appears on screen.

Rubio, who took office in 2011, is currently running for a third term during the 2022 election.

In a video, Lil Miss Hot Mess defended Drag Queen Story Hour events, saying, "We're simply out here reading books to children, encouraging them to use their imagination to envision a more just and fabulous world." The drag queen accused Rubio of engaging in "hateful, homophobic, and transphobic bigotry."

"It's ridiculous to come after drag queens for simply reading books to kids," the drag queen said, according to NBC News.

Earlier this year, Lil Miss Hot Mess criticized Rubio after the senator issued a letter to Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall calling for the cancellation of a drag queen story event that had been slated to occur in Germany.

"I urge you to immediately cancel this politically divisive event, and take appropriate disciplinary action against all involved in allowing this gross abuse of taxpayer funding to place children in a sexualized environment," Rubio had said in the letter.

"Though the events planned at the Ramstein AFB in Germany had no affiliation with our nonprofit—and importantly, I am speaking as an individual, not a representative of DQSH—Rubio’s comments attack not only on these events, but the broader work of DQSH and lives of LGBTQ+ people," Lil Miss Hot Mess tweeted. "Shame on you, Senator."

The event was ultimately cancelled. "An advertisement was posted to the base library social media page before the event had completed Ramstein's established processes for special observance coordination and approval," Lt. Col. Will Powell, chief of public affairs for the 86th Airlift Wing at Ramstein said, according to the Air Force Times. "The advertisement has been removed and the event will not take place."

Lil Miss Hot Mess is the author of the children's books "If You're a Drag Queen and You Know It" and "The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish."

"Parents and educators often assume that what children can learn about most from drag performers is to challenge gender stereotypes and celebrate diverse LGBTQ leaders and histories. While these are certainly important learning objectives, drag is also a creative portal to a new world; through drag we’re able to see those elements of society that are a hot mess and find the courage and creativity to change them," Lil Miss Hot Mess wrote in a piece posted earlier this year.

While many parents consider it highly inappropriate for cross-dressers to read stories to children, some people support such programs.

"Drag storytellers, and the libraries and schools that support them, are advancing a love of diversity, personal expression, and literacy that is core to what our city embraces," New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, said in a statement in June.

"I had the honor of assisting with a Drag Queen Story Hour in New York in April," Democratic Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney of New York tweeted in June.

Rep. Jerry Nadler beats Rep. Carolyn Maloney in New York Democratic primary

Rep. Jerry Nadler decisively defeated Rep. Carolyn Maloney in a New York Democratic primary that the two long-serving liberal lawmakers had been battling to win.

The two legislators ended up running against each other due to redistricting.

"Well New York…we did it! I'm so deeply grateful for your continued support and trust—I promise to keep on fighting for New Yorkers in Congress. Onwards!" Nadler tweeted on Tuesday night.

“Well New York…we did it!

I’m so deeply grateful for your continued support and trust—I promise to keep on fighting for New Yorkers in Congress. Onwards!”

Republican Michael Zumbluskas will be competing against Nadler during the general election later this year.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York had endorsed Nadler earlier this month.

"New York has a lot of outstanding leaders but few of them lead with the courage, conviction, and brilliant legislative effectiveness of my friend, Jerry Nadler. Having worked alongside Jerry for years, I've watched as time after time, Jerry —a critical partner of mine in the House — was right on the issues years before so many others," Schumer said in a statement.

The New York Times reported that Schumer spokesperson Angelo Roefaro noted that the senator had "deep respect for Carolyn Maloney's significant accomplishments in Congress."

Maloney's loss means that the congresswoman will depart from Congress at the end of her current term after having served 30 years in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Maloney has been openly supportive of Drag Queen Story Hour, which involves cross dressers reading books to children.

"I had the honor of assisting with a Drag Queen Story Hour in New York in April," Maloney tweeted in June. In April, the congresswoman declared in a tweet that because of the New York Public Library "and programs like Draq Queen story hour, NYC's next generation are getting a well rounded education about LGBTQ+ issues and gender identity."

'Mr. President, I apologize,' Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney says during appearance on CNN, declaring, 'if you run, I will be there 100%'

Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney of New York publicly apologized to President Joe Biden during a Thursday appearance on CNN's "New Day," saying that while she does not expect the president to seek re-election, she will support him if he opts to do so.

"Mr. President, I apologize," Maloney said. Continuing to direct her remarks toward Biden, Maloney then told the president that she wants him to run, but does not believe that he will do so. "But when you run, or if you run, I will be there 100%. You have deserved it. You are a great president," the long-serving congresswoman said.

“After saying Biden won’t run in 2024, Rep Carolyn Maloney looks into @newday camera and says: “I apologize Mr. President…(even though) I happen to think you won’t be running.”
@brikeilarcnn”

During a primary debate on Tuesday, the candidates were asked whether the president should run for re-election — Maloney responded by saying that she did not think that Biden was running again.

Following the debate, Maloney said in a statement that the president "has shown exemplary leadership." She declared in the statement, "If Biden chooses to run for President again, I absolutely intend to support him."

The lawmaker issued a tweet on Wednesday praising the president and declaring that she will back him if he seeks another term: "I will absolutely support President Biden, if he decides to run for re-election. Biden’s leadership securing historic investments for healthcare, climate & economic justice prove once again why he is the strong and effective leader we need right now."

During the interview on Thursday, CNN's Brianna Keilar repeatedly asked Maloney why she did not think that Biden would run again, but the congresswoman never explained her rationale.

Biden said last year that he intends to seek re-election provided that he is healthy. He is already the oldest president in U.S. history and would be 86 years old by the end of a second term.

When fielding the debate question about whether Biden should run for reelection, Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler of New York said that it would not serve the Democratic Party to consider the issue until after the midterms have occurred.

"Anyone watching last night's debate would have heard my extremely effusive comments about President Biden's performance during historically trying times. As I have said many times, I strongly support the president," Nadler said in a statement. "My point in response to a yes or no question about the 2024 election was simply that a discussion about anything other then the historic midterm election this year is a distraction from our important work of keeping our House and Senate majorities and protecting our democracy."

“Nadler is out with some post-debate spin this morning, emphasizing that while he is supportive of Biden, he believes any convo not related to the upcoming midterm elections is a “distraction”

"As I have said many times, I strongly support the President," he writes in part”

NYC Mayor Eric Adams says 'Drag storytellers' are promoting 'love of diversity, personal expression, and literacy'

New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, is openly supporting the practice of having drag queen events at schools and libraries, claiming that they foster literacy.

"Drag storytellers, and the libraries and schools that support them, are advancing a love of diversity, personal expression, and literacy that is core to what our city embraces," a tweet on the @NYCMayor Twitter account declares. "At a time when our LGBTQ+ communities are under increased attack across this country, we must use our education system to educate. The goal is not only for our children to be academically smart, but also emotionally intelligent," another tweet states.

Drag Queen Story Hour events involve drag queens reading books to children — many people consider the concept to be highly inappropriate.

In response to the mayor's endorsement of the practice, Sara Gonzales, host of BlazeTV's "The News & Why It Matters," tweeted, "Holy crap. Democrats, please keep doing this."

"Yes, Democrats, this is the hill you should die on. Bring this all the way to the midterms. Great political strategy," Matt Walsh tweeted.

"'Drag queens for the children' is one hell of a 2022 slogan," Ben Shapiro tweeted.

"They really are gonna fully embrace being the groomer party," tweeted Steve Deace, host of BlazeTV's "Steve Deace Show."

"The USA's Democratic Party has completely lost the plot. Including the so called 'moderates'. I am not American but I hope they get absolutely rekt in the next election," ZUBY tweeted.

Democratic Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney of New York has previously praised Drag Queen Story Hour. "I had the honor of assisting with a Drag Queen Story Hour in New York in April," Maloney tweeted last week. In April, she tweeted, "thanks to [New York Public Library] and programs like Draq Queen story hour, NYC’s next generation are getting a well rounded education about LGBTQ+ issues and gender identity."

Drag Queen Story Hour executive director Jonathan Hamilt has contended that there is a world of difference between adult drag shows and Drag Queen Story Hour events for kids.

"Someone who is bigoted or doesn't want to do the research, they're not going to understand that an adult drag show at an adult bar, in the evening, with alcohol, is different from a Drag Queen Story Hour nonprofit event at 11am at a public library," Hamilt said, according to the Independent.

"Obviously, all adults act differently when they're around children and when they're not. Every schoolteacher has a private life outside of working with children, and you act appropriately around children. That's just a normal thing that all adults do, no matter who you are – gay or straight, drag queen or not," Hamilt said, according to the outlet.

Drag queen authors children's books that replace well-known lyrics with drag-related themes

A drag queen known as "Lil Miss Hot Mess" has authored two children's books that swap the lyrics of well-known songs for words that focus on drag.

A book released last month titled, "If You're a Drag Queen and You Know It," replaces the standard lyrics of the familiar tune "If You're Happy and You Know It" with material such as "If You're A Drag Queen And You Know It, Blow A Kiss!" and "If You're A Drag Queen And You Know It, Strike A Pose!"

“If You're A Drag Queen and You Know It is officially out today! Huge thanks to the entire team at @RP_Kids, @olgadedios, and @LindsayEdgecom1 at @LGRLiterary for making this magic with me! ⭐💃✨”
— Lil Miss Hot Mess (@Lil Miss Hot Mess) 1652808932

The book follows the 2020 release of a similar book titled "The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish," which replaces the lyrics of "The Wheels on the Bus." A book description says that the "playful picture book offers a quirky twist on a classic nursery rhyme by illustrating all of the ways to 'work it'."

The concept of introducing children to drag remains very controversial.

While many individuals have been disturbed by the Drag Queen Story Hour movement which involves drag performers reading books to children, others, including Democratic Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney of New York, have expressed their support for the events.

"I had the honor of assisting with a Drag Queen Story Hour in New York in April," Maloney tweeted on Thursday. In April, Maloney said in a tweet that "thanks to @NYPL and programs like Draq Queen story hour, NYC’s next generation are getting a well rounded education about LGBTQ+ issues and gender identity."

Lil Miss Hot Mess has claimed that "In story hour events, drag is mobilized in age-appropriate ways to encourage kids and families to explore curiosities about culture and history, learn about the diversities in their communities, and stand up for what they believe in." The drag queen continued, "Events are inclusive and insightful: from the moment they begin, children's attentions are transfixed by the multi-sensory experience of drag, and they come away not only with a love of reading but with the confidence to be their boldest selves."

The Libs of TikTok Twitter account recently got slapped down by the social media giant for a tweet regarding a "MEGA DRAG THREAD" that includes examples of various drag events related to kids — "Last night, I received a notice that I was locked out of my account for 'abuse and harassment' and Twitter demanded I delete my mega drag thread post," Libs of TikTok noted Thursday evening in a post on libsoftiktok.com.

"I'm back! Apparently posting videos and flyers of drag events is abusive but the actual events are just 'innocent family friendly entertainment,'" Libs of TikTok tweeted on Thursday when returning to Twitter.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will make appearance on show about drag queens ... again

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will be making another appearance on a show that is about cross dressing.

Pelosi will appear on a new season of "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars" — she previously appeared on the program several years ago as well.

"Can I get an amen?" Pelosi can be seen saying in a clip advertising the show's upcoming season.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 7 Exclusive First Look! youtu.be

In 2018, the Hollywood Reporter posed the question to Pelosi: "What could politicians learn from drag queens?"

"Authenticity," Pelosi answered. "Taking pride in who you are. Knowing your power — that’s what I talk about on my brief segment on the show. This idea of people believing in themselves, being themselves, taking pride in themselves, is not just a lesson for politicians but for everyone in the country. And that’s why I was so excited and couldn’t resist being on the show."

During that interview, the outlet also asked the lawmaker whether she had ever considered what her drag name would be, but Pelosi said that she had not.

The California Democrat has served in Congress for more than three decades and holds the distinction of being the first and only woman ever to serve as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

U.S. Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney recently tweeted support for Drag Queen Story Hour, a program that involves cross dressers reading books to children.

"Across the country, books are being banned, which are depriving our nation’s youth. But thanks to @NYPL and programs like Draq Queen story hour, NYC’s next generation are getting a well rounded education about LGBTQ+ issues and gender identity," Maloney tweeted.

Critics pounced on the congresswoman's post, but she remained unfazed, declaring that "the bigots are at it again in the comments."

US Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney praises Drag Queen Story Hour for helping kids get 'a well rounded education about LGBTQ+ issues and gender identity'

U.S. Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney of New York, a Democrat who lists the gender pronouns "She/Her" in her Twitter biography, is publicly praising Drag Queen Story Hour, a program that features cross-dressers reading books to children.

"Across the country, books are being banned, which are depriving our nation’s youth. But thanks to @NYPL and programs like Draq Queen story hour, NYC’s next generation are getting a well rounded education about LGBTQ+ issues and gender identity," Maloney tweeted on Monday.

BlazeTV host Elijah Schaffer of "Slightly Offens*ve," responded by tweeting the word "GROOMER" in all caps, along with an emoji pointing toward the congresswoman's tweet.

"Found another groomer outing themselves," tweeted Steve Deace, of BlazeTV's "Steve Deace Show."

Jim Hanson used the hashtag "#OKGroomer," and commented that, "Anyone who thinks Drag Queen Story Hour is a good idea for young kids Has no business being in charge of kids."

While critics pounced on the congresswoman's tweet, she fired back on Wednesday claiming that "the bigots are at it again in the comments."

Many parents believe that children's innocence should be preserved at all costs, a principle that leaves no room for introducing kids to cross dressers.

Drag Story Hour NYC, a member of the Drag Queen Story Hour global network, "produces storytelling and creative arts programs for children and teens, presented by local drag artists, in libraries, schools, and other community spaces in all five boroughs of New York City, and virtually," according to dshnyc.org. "Through fun and fabulous educational experiences, our programs celebrate gender diversity and all forms of difference to build empathy and give kids the confidence to express themselves however they feel comfortable."

"In our original 45-minute Drag Story Hour (DSH) program designed for children ages 3-8, local drag performers trained by children’s librarians read picture books that touch on themes of diversity and difference, sing songs, and do craft activities. In learning about drag as a form of dress-up and play, children learn to see beyond the pink and blue gender binary and celebrate difference in themselves and others," the website notes.

Illegal alien allegedly posed as rideshare driver, recorded himself sexually abusing women, and kept trophies

A man who is illegally present in the United States is accused of posing as a rideshare driver, recording himself sexually assaulting women who were unconscious, and keeping trophies of his victims.

Prosecutors allege that 43-year-old Raul Guaman was in possession of 16 drivers licenses and 32 cellphones, trophies that he stole from his victims.

Guaman is originally from Ecuador. He worked in construction in Bay Shore, New York.

“Police have recovered videos from the defendant’s cellphone, appearing to show him sexually abusing a number of women who are unconscious,” said Suffolk County District Attorney Tim Sini.

Three victims have been identified.

Sini said that Guaman allegedly recorded himself sexually assaulting a young woman in November while she slept at a Brightwaters home he had broken into.

“It would later be revealed that he had visited that same house on four other occasions and had secretly taken videos of another victim inside the home,” Sini said.

Guaman was then arrested when he blew past a stop sign. Police said they found multiple IDs.

They investigated further and found the videos of his sexual assaults on his cellphone, as well as the trophies at his home.

Police accused him of a "pattern of predatory behavior with impunity.”

“In my almost 37-year career, this is one of the most shocking cases I've ever seen,” said Suffolk County Police Acting Commissioner Stuart Cameron.

Police are looking for other women who might have been victimized by Guaman and may not even know it.

“There does definitely seem to be a serial aspect to this case where he may have done this repeatedly over the course of years to numerous victims,” said Cameron.

Prosecutors said that he was facing deportation over his illegal immigration status, but he now faces 25 years in prison if convicted of the charges.
