Disney+ 'X-Men' show has 'nonbinary' character turn into woman and confess his love for Wolverine

The season finale for controversial Disney+ cartoon "X-Men '97" ended with the show's "nonbinary" character professing his love for fan favorite Wolverine. The show's producer had previously stated that the relationship between the two was simply a "buddy" friendship.

The character named Morph, who was confirmed as being portrayed as "nonbinary" before the show's release, stood over an injured Wolverine in the season finale. As the X-Men attempted to stop a world-ending event, Morph chose to stay out of the epic battle in order to stand watch over his wounded compatriot.

Realizing that Wolverine might not overcome his injuries, the character took the opportunity to confess his love to the unconscious hero. In addition, Morph also changed his appearance to that of Jean Grey (the woman Wolverine loves) before making his confession.

"She can’t say it, but I can. I love you, Logan. Stay with me," the gender-transitioning character said, according to Bounding into Comics.

The show's former executive producer Beau DeMayo confirmed following the episode that the scene was meant to be romantic.

"Yes, Morph was confessing romantic feelings for Logan," he wrote on X.

A fan replied to the post and noted that he became suspicious during another scene where Morph changed into Wolverine's brother and brought him beer.

"Yep. That wasn’t an accident," DeMayo responded.

'While it's not surprising, it is wrong and proves that Disney is actively engaging in the culture war and wants to warp the minds of its viewers to believe that wrong is right.'

The character appeared to have been misrepresented by show creators before the launch of the series, who said that "nonbinary" was not what people thought it meant.

In February 2015, DeMayo gave an interview where he initially confirmed the character, which was historically portrayed as an average-looking male, would become "nonbinary."

"This is a lighter take on the character, who is nonbinary and has an interesting buddy relationship with Wolverine," DeMayo said at the time.

The uproar from fans over the change of the character was met by explanations from the creators in which they claimed that "nonbinary" was simply another word for "shape shifter."

"For me, the word ‘nonbinary’ is the same as the word ‘shapeshifter,'" director Larry Houston said. "Every character that can change from one gender to another, or from human to animal, that’s just another word for ‘shapeshifter’ for me."

Writer Julia Lewald chose to scold fans who took issue with the change:

"Did we teach you people nothing? Were you not watching?" she asked. "Did we not figure out how to be nice to each other and how to get along? It’s very odd to feel like we are still dealing with the same issues that we were dealing with 30 years ago. It’s painful," she explained.

Despite the justifications, it appeared that the show's intention all along was to use the "nonbinary" character as a homosexual love story for Wolverine.

"It's not at all surprising that DeMayo, Disney, and Marvel would put Wolverine and Morph in a sodomitic relationship," said John F. Trent, editor for That Park Place.

"DeMayo made it abundantly clear the show he pitched was about him inserting his 'identity' as a gay black man into the X-Men. While it's not surprising, it is wrong and proves that Disney is actively engaging in the culture war and wants to warp the minds of its viewers to believe that wrong is right," Trent added.

DeMayo was fired a little more than a week before the show premiered, with a series of controversial acts garnering criticism from all sides of the cultural aisle.

In 2023, he reportedly announced he was deleting his Twitter account after coming under fire for allegedly whitewashing a character named Sunspot, a Brazilian who appeared to be tan in earlier versions. DeMayo faced criticism for casting actor Gui Agustini in the role, even though he is Brazilian.

DeMayo, who is also reportedly a gay black man, allegedly posted shirtless photos of himself online and operated what has been described as a non-explicit account on the site OnlyFans, which is known for pornography.

Marvel had no comment on the matter, and DeMayo went silent, taking his Instagram account offline, the Hollywood Reporter noted.

'I'll always forgive a bad joke': Vivek Ramaswamy accepts apology about cartoon

A media entity has apologized after running a cartoon that depicted MAGA supporters targeting GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. The cartoon featured Ramaswamy at a podium as MAGA audience members jeered the candidate. One audience member exclaimed, "MUSLIM!!," another demanded Ramaswamy show his birth certificate, and a third person declared, "GET ME A SLUSHEE APU!!!"

Ramaswamy shared a screenshot of the cartoon, noting that it is not at all reflective of his real-life experience meeting Americans around the nation.

"It's sad that this is how the MSM views Republicans. I've met with grassroots conservatives across America & never *once* experienced the kind of bigotry that I regularly see from the Left. Iowa's ⁦@qctimes⁩ absolutely has the right to print this, but it's still shameful," Ramaswamy tweeted.

Tom Martin, executive editor at the Quad-City Times and Dispatch-Argus, conveyed apologies for the dissemination of the cartoon.

"The cartoon, while intended to criticize racist ideas and epithets, uses a phrase that is racist and insensitive to members of our Indian American community. The cartoon has been removed from our websites and e-editions, and we will not be accepting any further work from the cartoonist. We apologize to Republican primary presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, the Indian American community and our readers for publishing the offensive material in the Quad-City Times and Dispatch-Argus," the apology states. "The oversight that allowed it to run is inexcusable, and we can and will do better. We are sorry."

Ramaswamy has accepted the apology.

"Love my Iowans in the Quad Cities. Grateful for warm welcome they give me every single time. The local newspaper @qctimes just apologized for their recent un-funny cartoon bigotedly deriding the right. I accept. I'm a former aspiring standup comic & I’ll always forgive a bad joke," the presidential hopeful tweeted.

DeSantis critic who runs leftist church apologizes for featuring cartoon of white girl in desk calendar

John Dorhauer, president of the woke United Church of Christ, has issued a groveling apology for the cartoon featured on the cover of the UCC's latest desk calendar.

To the untrained eye, the image appears only to depict a circle comprising eight cartoon children. However, identitarian leftists were quick to recognize that the placement of a white character in the circle's 12 o'clock position was contrary to the UCC's "commitments to be an antiracist body."

A cartoonish figure of any other crayoned-background would have been preferable atop the circle, Dorhauer conceded in his statement.

Dorhauer is a radical leftist and alleged theologian who: previously taught "White Privilege" studies to a class of masters of divinity students at Eden Theological Seminary; accused all white men in America of social blindness and enjoying of "pernicious" privilege; and officiated at the first legal gay "marriage" in Maricopa County, Arizona.

Infuriated by the prospect that conservatives might curb the kinds of racist propaganda he regularly deals in, he recently lashed out at Gov. Ron DeSantis and his appointees to the New College of Florida board of trustees, such as Manhattan Institute senior fellow Christopher Rufo, reported USA Today.

"The long arc of history will grind you into dust," said Dorhauer, adding that the governor's appointees "will be remembered for the sycophants you are."

Perhaps distracted by the actions of a democratically-elected leader outside his own state, Dorhauer managed to overlook the problematic nature of the image on the UCC's new calendar, priced at $20.

The cover depicts eight children, ostensibly of various races, holding hands in a circle with "you shall love your neighbor as yourself" written at the center. Atop the circle is a blonde-haired white figure with a pink bow in her hair.

Dorhauer wrote in a May 23 statement, "I write to apologize for the ways in which the most recent edition of the UCC desk calendar failed to live up to our commitments to be an antiracist body. It has been brought to my attention that a slight rotation of the cover image in either direction would more accurately reflect the racial equity we seek. I am grateful for such attention to the subtleties of racism and agree."

The UCC head indicated that people had reached out to him expressing disappointment and outrage over the incorrect placement of the cartoon figures.

"The cover does not reflect our strong commitment to antiracism. I apologize for that," Dorhauer continued.

While accepting that the cartoon character was in fact a misplaced Caucasian, Dorhauer made sure not to risk misgendering her, writing, "Seeing how the image on the cover is plainly focused on the blonde-haired person makes it clear to me that there are still ways in which the centering of whiteness remains instantiated in our language, our art and our culture."

Dorhauer further stressed that his failure to relocate the blonde "person" to a less favorable spot serves as "a reminder of the kind of diligence required to fully overcome the ravages of white privilege still embedded in our system, our psyche and our culture. We will again remind ourselves and challenge ourselves to apply a level of diligence that will reduce the likelihood that this happens again."

The UCC, which Dorhauer hopes to purge of "the vestiges of white privilege," in part by peddling critical race theory, is among the leftist organizations that have hosted drag shows for minors in recent years.

Despite Mega Popularity, ‘Rick And Morty’s’ Legacy Is Complicated

'Rick and Morty' is one of the most popular television series to debut in recent years, but its legacy leaves more to be desired.

In 'Snow White' reference, WaPo cartoonist depicts Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis holding basket of poisoned apples as the bodies of children lay on the ground

In a reference to the classic story "Snow White," Washington Post political cartoonist Michael de Adder depicted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) holding a basket of poisoned apples as the bodies of three children who apparently ate the tainted fruit lay on the ground — the basket is labeled "don't say gay" and a shirt on one of the children reads, "trans kids."

"I'm protecting Florida's children from you," the DeSantis figure says to Snow White and Mickey Mouse.

"Snow White did not die from eating the apple. She fell into a coma. It was in the movie. So if she didn't die from eating the apple, those kids are not dead. People here have lost their minds," de Adder wrote in a now-deleted post.

When someone asked de Adder why he had deleted the post, the cartoonist replied, "I stand by it."

The morbid cartoon comes as leftists rail against the "Parental Rights in Education" bill that the Sunshine State governor signed last week.

One of the provisions in the measure prohibits teaching students in kindergarten through third grade about sexual orientation and gender identity.

"Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards," the text states.

The Walt Disney Company issued a statement last week declaring that it will push for the legislation to be spiked in court or repealed by the state legislature.

"Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts, and we remain committed to supporting the national and state organizations working to achieve that," Disney's statement declared.

DeSantis said that Disney had gone over the line.

"This state is governed by the interests of the people of the state of Florida. It is not based on the demands of California corporate executives. They do not run this state. They do not control this state," DeSantis declared.
