Princess Kate says she's 'making good progress' and will continue undergoing treatment for several months

Catherine, the Princess of Wales, indicated in a statement that she is "making good progress" and will continue undergoing treatment for several months.

"I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well," she noted. "My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home."

'The Princess of Wales' statement will be especially meaningful to those who are fighting cancer and for their families.'

"I'm looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet," the princess noted.

U.K. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak responded to the princess's statement, noting, "The Princess of Wales' statement will be especially meaningful to those who are fighting cancer and for their families. They will recognise the same struggle in her words and draw hope and inspiration from her strength. I'm delighted she will be in attendance for His Majesty's Birthday Parade and I know the whole country is behind her."

In a video earlier this year, Catherine said that after she had undergone abdominal surgery it was discovered that "cancer had been present." She said in the video that "preventative chemotherapy" was recommended and that she was "in the early stages of that treatment."

Leftist militants attack conservative students and use terror tactics to shut down Turning Point USA event at UC Davis

A Turning Point USA event was shut down Tuesday evening after multiple attacks by leftist militants on attendees were answered, not by the UC Davis police, who were kept from intervening, but by a handful of counter-protesters ready for a fight.

A night with 'MAGA Hulk'

The UC Davis student chapter of Turning Point USA organized an event for Oct. 25, set to feature conservative speaker Stephen Davis, the host of the podcast "SMASH with MAGA Hulk."

The chapter vice president of UC Davis TPUSA, Luke Shalz, noted that Stephen Davis is "an African-American gentleman who does not believe in systemic racism."

In advance of the event featuring a black conservative speaker, flyers were distributed on campus accusing TPUSA of being "racist, homophobic, transphobic, and anti-immigrant" and of celebrating violence. The flyers also defamed Kyle Rittenhouse, who spoke at a TPUSA event, as a "racist murder [sic]."

The flyers called on "anyone who opposes racism and bigotry to stand together and make it known that TPUSA is not welcome on our campus."

— Amber (@Amber) 1666202205

Similar posts were circulated online accusing Stephen Davis of being a fascist for "denying systemic racism."

“COMMUNITY ALERT! Turning Point USA is bringing Stephen Davis (aka "Maga Hulk") to UCD on Oct. 25th for an event denying systemic racism. Show up and make it clear that these fascists aren't welcome on our campus. Tues 10/25 @ 6pm on Vanderhoef Quad (near the Mondavi Center).”

Notwithstanding calls for censorship ahead of the event, the university claimed that it was "committed to the First Amendment, and ... required to uphold it. We affirm the right of our students — in this instance, Turning Point USA at UC Davis — to invite speakers to our campus, just as we affirm the right of others to protest speakers whose views they find upsetting or offensive."

The university also reportedly informed the TPUSA campus chapter that UC Davis police would be present at the event and that they would intervene if protests turned violent.

However, when leftist protesters began using barriers as battering rams and pepper-spraying young women, the campus police — said to have been on site — did not take action or deploy into the crowd.

The university told KCRA3 that officers had been on standby when the fighting broke out, but did not act because "the situation de-escalated on its own, eliminating the need for the police to engage."

The brawl

The brawl that ensued allegedly involved 100 people and began, according to TPUSA's field team, when Antifa began provoking people trying to enter the venue.

In a statement, UC Davis noted there had been reports of Antifa supporters involved in the fighting and pepper-spraying and that members of the pugnacious men's group Proud Boys may have also been on the scene.

One young female conservative was pepper-sprayed by leftist agitators.

UC Davis also indicated that some "in the crowd used barricades to beat on the glass of the UC Davis Conference Center, where about 30 people were inside waiting for the event to begin."

Student Affairs staff reportedly determined that the chaos outside presented sufficient danger to warrant shutting down the event.

The UC Davis TPUSA chapter ultimately agreed, later stating, "Rather than risk any further escalation of violence, our TPUSA chapter leadership decided to cancel the event when it became apparent campus PD was unable to disperse the violent agitators outside while also keeping our students safe inside."

"This is a great loss for free speech, our speaker Stephen Davis, and for the students at UC Davis. TPUSA condemns all violence and refuses to be cowed by those who use threats and intimidation to stop conservatives on campus," TPUSA tweeted.

On Thursday, former acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell called out UC Davis chancellor Gary May, suggesting he had failed up to stand up for true diversity on campus after Davis, a black speaker, had been shut down by "radical lefties."

Catherine Brinkley, a UC Davis professor, celebrated the silencing of a black conservative and the leftist attacks on unarmed students, stating she was "really proud of our students, faculty, staff and community who showed up to counter-rally a planned speaking event at UC Davis. Thank you for putting your bodies on the line."

It is unclear whether the event will be rescheduled.

Nevada Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto smears National Right to Life as 'extremist group' in false attack ad

Nevada Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto on Tuesday denigrated the National Right to Life Committee as an "extremist group" in a campaign ad attacking the group's endorsement of her Republican opponent Adam Laxalt.

The ad ominously refers to National Right to Life as a "powerful extremist group" pushing for Congress to pass a "national abortion ban."

Masto's campaign goes after Laxalt for receiving the pro-life group's endorsement, claiming that he would support such an abortion ban without exceptions for pregnancies conceived by rape or incest.

"Behind Republicans' national abortion ban is a powerful extremist group: National Right to Life. They're behind Adam Laxalt too, and he's proud to have their endorsement," the ad states.

"They want no exceptions for rape or incest and said a 10-year-old rape victim should be forced to have the baby. And Adam Laxalt promised to join in their fight if elected."

“.@AdamLaxalt proudly touts his endorsement from National Right to Life, an extremist group that opposes a woman's right to choose - without exception for rape or incest.

Nevada is a pro-choice state, and we're not going to let him drag us backwards.”
— Catherine Cortez Masto (@Catherine Cortez Masto) 1665496801

Founded in 1968, NRLC describes itself as the nation's oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization. In a statement to TheBlaze, the group repudiated the claims made in Masto's attack ad.

"National Right to Life does not want babies to die and supports measures to support the lives of mothers and their unborn children. Catherine Cortez Masto is the extremist who wants unlimited abortion even late in pregnancy and paid for by taxpayer dollars," the group said.

"National Right to Life supports Adam Laxalt because he recognizes the right to life and opposes taxpayer funding of abortion as well as the extreme pro-abortion policies of the Democratic party."

NRLC went on to say the only federal abortion legislation it supports is a bill authored by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), which would limit abortion to 15 weeks gestation, which is in the fourth month of pregnancy. Graham's bill prevents abortions "except in situations involving rape, incest, or risks to the life and physical health of the mother."

"In poll after poll, the vast majority of Americans consistently oppose abortions after the 3rd month of pregnancy," NRLC said.

Cortez Masto was mocked on social media for labeling NRLC an "extremist" group.

"NRTL is an extremist group? OMG. We’re they founded by an unrepentant racist who advocated targeting minority communities with eugenics and abortion!? Oh wait ... that was Planned Parenthood," tweeted Nick Freitas, a Republican state representative from Virginia.

"An 'extremist group?' National Right to Life was organized by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops. It's former president met with Pope John Paull II. Just so we're clear on who Cortez Masto is calling an 'extremist group,'" said Republican strategist Matt Wolking.

Abortion has become a flashpoint issue in the 2022 midterm election campaign since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June, ruling that the U.S. Constitution does not protect abortion rights. A Pew Research poll in July found that 62% of Americans say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, and Democrats have sought to weaponize the issue against Republicans to mitigate their expected losses in the midterms.

Nevada's senatorial race is considered one of the most competitive in the country, as polls show the incumbent Masto is vulnerable to being unseated by Laxalt.

Though NRLC has proposed model legislation to criminalize abortion except to prevent the death of the mother, Laxalt has not endorsed that legislation and says he does not support federal abortion restrictions.

In an op-ed for the Reno Gazette-Journal, Laxalt slammed Cortez Masto for lying about his position and called out her own support for the Women's Health Protection Act — a Democratic bill that would codify Roe v. Wade and overturn state restrictions on abortion, which opponents say would radically legalize abortion up until birth.

"She has consistently voted to allow the barbaric procedure of late-term abortion, up to the point of live birth, even forcing you, the taxpayer, to fund this infanticide. That is a radical policy change from what currently exists in Nevada — which is the ability to have a legal abortion procedure up through six months of pregnancy," Laxalt wrote in August.

"This unconscionable position of killing a full-term baby is indefensible, so naturally, Cortez Masto and her allies are spending millions of dollars in campaign ads trying to deflect from it and make you believe in a falsehood that I would support a federal ban on abortion as a U.S. senator, or that I am somehow 'anti-woman' because I value, support and defend life at all stages."

Laxalt says he favors letting each state set its own abortion laws according to the will of voters.

'Highly credible' whistleblowers expose FBI 'scheme' to protect Hunter Biden from damning allegations

"Highly credible" whistleblowers allege the FBI and Justice Department are engaging in a coordinated scheme to downplay and discredit negative information related to Hunter Biden.

The shocking allegation was revealed in a letter that Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) sent Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray. That letter was made public on Monday.

What are the allegations?

Grassley disclosed that his office has received "a significant number" of legally protected communications from whistleblowers regarding these allegations.

"The information provided to my office involves concerns about the FBI’s receipt and use of derogatory information relating to Hunter Biden, and the FBI’s false portrayal of acquired evidence as disinformation," Grassley explained. "The volume and consistency of these allegations substantiate their credibility and necessitate this letter."

“NEW: Multiple “highly credible” FBI whistleblowers have come forward to senior Senate Republican @ChuckGrassley alleging widespread effort to downplay or discredit negative information about the President 's son Hunter Biden, according to letters @CBSNews https://t.co/hw5kGiTFVv”
— Catherine Herridge (@Catherine Herridge) 1658794593

The first allegation of allegedly corrupt behavior highlights an FBI intelligence assessment opened in 2020.

That assessment, according to Grassley, was "used by an FBI headquarters team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation."

"Based on allegations, verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation," Grassley explained. "Accordingly, the allegations provided to my office appear to indicate that there was a scheme in place among certain FBI officials to undermine derogatory information connected to Hunter Biden by falsely suggesting it was disinformation."

The second serious allegation centers on FBI agents placing "their findings with respect to whether reporting was disinformation in a restricted access sub-file reviewable only by the particular agents responsible for uncovering the specific information."

"This is problematic because it does not allow for proper oversight and opens the door to improper influence," Grassley wrote.

The third allegation claims a supervisory agent ordered closed "an avenue of additional derogatory Hunter Biden reporting" on the basis that it was vulnerable to disinformation.

But, Grassley wrote, "according to allegations, all of the reporting was either verified or verifiable via criminal search warrants."

"Despite the matter being closed in such a way that the investigative avenue might be opened later, it’s alleged that FBI officials, including [the supervisory agent], subsequently attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future," Grassley said.

What did the FBI, DOJ say?

Both agencies confirmed they received the letter, but neither offered additional comment.

However, Grassley made it clear what the allegations mean if they prove to be true.

"If these allegations are true and accurate, the Justice Department and FBI are — and have been — institutionally corrupted to their very core to the point in which the United States Congress and the American people will have no confidence in the equal application of the law," Grassley declared.

"Attorney General Garland and Director Wray, simply put, based on the allegations that I’ve received from numerous whistleblowers, you have systemic and existential problems within your agencies," he added.

Capitol Police chief debunks key accusation that Democrats made against Republicans regarding January 6

The Capitol Police debunked a serious accusation that Democrats have lodged against House Republicans.

What is the accusation?

Democrats have repeatedly claimed that Republican lawmakers led "reconnaissance" tours through the United States Capitol Complex the day before the riot on Jan. 6, 2021. Republicans, however, deny that such tours took place.

The House committee investigating Jan. 6 has not released any evidence corroborating the shocking accusations.

Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), a target of the accusation, has admitted to providing a tour to constituents the day before Jan. 6. However, Loudermilk said last month the group never entered the Capitol itself, but toured parts of the office complex instead.

What did the Capitol Police say?

Capitol Police Chief J. Thomas Manger wrote a letter on Monday confirming there is no evidence that Loudermilk gave a "reconnaissance" tour.

According to Manger, video surveillance showed that Loudermilk hosted a group of 12 people, which eventually grew to 15 people, at the Rayburn House Office Building on Jan. 5. The group also traveled in the basements under the Capitol complex, traversing areas under the Cannon House Office Building and Longworth House Office Building.

"There is no evidence that Representative Loudermilk entered the U.S. Capitol with this group on January 5, 2021," Manger declared. "We train our officers on being alert for people conducting surveillance or reconnaissance, and we do not consider any of the activities we observed as suspicious.

"At no time did the group appear in any tunnels that would have led them to the U.S. Capitol," he explained. "In addition, the tunnels leading to the U.S. Capitol were posted with USCP officers and admittance to the U.S. Capitol without a Member of Congress was not permitted on January 5, 2021."

How did the committee respond?

The House Jan. 6 committee pushed back against Manger's statement, releasing video footage on Wednesday of the group in the tunnels under the Capitol complex.

The video, however, does not show any person from the tour enter the U.S. Capitol. Still, the committee, writing in a letter Wednesday, implicitly suggested the group was guilty of wrongdoing because "individuals on the tour photographed and recorded areas of the complex not typically of interest to tourists, including hallways, staircases, and security checkpoints."

The committee also claimed one member of the tour was present for the Jan. 6 riot, but they have not provided evidence that man entered the Capitol.

Loudermilk responded to the letter and new video by accusing the House committee of dragging out already-debunked accusations.

The Capitol Police already put this false accusation to bed, yet the Committee is undermining the Capitol Police and doubling down on their smear campaign, releasing so-called evidence of a tour of the House Office Buildings, which I have already publicly addressed," Loudermilk said, CNN reported.

"As Capitol Police confirmed, nothing about this visit with constituents was suspicious. The pictures show children holding bags from the House gift shop, which was open to visitors, and taking pictures of the Rayburn train," he explained. "This false narrative that the Committee and Democrats continue to push, that Republicans, including myself, led reconnaissance tours is verifiably false. No where that I went with the visitors in the House Office Buildings on January 5th were breached on January 6th; and, to my knowledge, no one in that group was criminally charged in relation to January 6th."

President Trump takes new action against Antifa, one step closer to terrorist organization designation

President Donald Trump took new action against Antifa on Tuesday, signing an executive order asking the State Department to evaluate whether the far-left anarchist group should be classified as a terrorist organization.

What's the background?

Antifa has become an infamous staple throughout Trump's presidency, often making headlines for engaging in violent clashes with right-wing demonstrators in cities nationwide.

Because of the group's penchant for violence, Trump has toyed with the idea of officially designating Antifa as a terrorist organization.

Trump said in July 2019, "Consideration is being given to declaring ANTIFA, the gutless Radical Left Wack Jobs who go around hitting (only non-fighters) people over the heads with baseball bats, a major Organization of Terror (along with MS-13 & others). Would make it easier for police to do their job!"

In August 2019, Trump said, "Major consideration is being given to naming ANTIFA an 'ORGANIZATION OF TERROR.'"

And in May 2020, Trump declared, "The United States of America will be designating ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization."

What did the EO say?

Despite Trump's public declarations, Antifa has not been classified as a terrorist organization. However, Tuesday's executive order was a concrete step toward such a designation becoming reality.

Trump's executive order calls on the State Department, Justice Department, and Homeland Security Department to evaluate whether Antifa should be classified as a terrorist organization.

The executive order says:

The Secretary of State shall, in consultation with the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security, review information received from the Department of Justice and other authorities to assess whether to classify Antifa as a terrorist organization under section 1182(a)(3)(B)(vi) of title 8, United States Code.

The Secretary of State shall take all appropriate steps, in consultation with the Attorney General and the Secretary of Homeland Security, to consider listing Antifa in 9 FAM 302.5-4(B)(2)(U) Aliens Who Are Members of an Identified Criminal Organization.

"The Department of Justice has already publicly confirmed that actions by Antifa and similar groups meet the standard for domestic terrorism," the executive order declares.

"The violence spurred on by Antifa — such as hurling projectiles and incendiary devices at police, burning vehicles, and violently confronting police in defiance of local curfews — is dangerous to human life and to the fabric of our Nation. These violent acts undermine the rights of peaceful protestors and destroy the lives, liberty, and property of the people of this Nation, especially those most vulnerable," the order says.

Anything else?

Critics say designating Antifa as a terrorist organization is not possible because the group does not have centralized leadership like, say, Al Qaeda.

However, leaked emails from the Department of Homeland Security regarding violence in Portland last summer revealed that Antifa is, in fact, organized.

House Republicans demand answers from FBI director about Hunter Biden's hard drive after NY Post exposé

Nineteen Republican lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives signed a letter demanding answers from FBI Director Christopher Wray about whether the bureau had possession of a hard drive that led to the controversial New York Post exposé.

Catherine Herridge of CBS News posted the letter to her social media account on Friday:

— Catherine Herridge (@Catherine Herridge)1602897386.0

"Yesterday, the New York Post published an article entitled, 'Smoking-gun email reveals how Hunter Biden introduced Ukrainian businessman to VP dad.' The article documents how a recently uncovered laptop and hard drive allegedly revealed e-mails to and from Hunter Biden that strongly indicated that former Vice President Joe Biden was, in fact, aware of his son's overseas dealings," the letter read.

The letter went on to address the allegation that the FBI was in possession of the hard drive in 2019.

"This action took place right at the end of the U.S. House of Representative's impeachment sham against President Donald J. Trump, and right before the U.S. Senate tried the case. A large portion of the President's legal defense case revolved around strong evidence that former Vice President Biden's son, Hunter, was peddling his influence to his father to land lucrative jobs overseas that he might not have otherwise been qualified for," the letter continued.

The letter went on to call it a "gross error of judgement" and a "severe violation of trust" if the FBI had been in possession of the hard drive and had not divulged the information that was so damaging to the Biden campaign.

They demanded the FBI answer if they had possession of the hard drive, whether they had informed the White House or the Department of Justice about the hard drive, and if they had authenticated the evidence.

The lawmakers asked for an answer to their letter from Wray by Thursday.

Also on Friday, Biden snapped at a reporter who asked him to respond to the New York Post story, and instead accused him of participating in a smear campaign against him.
