Woman Hosting Illegal Migrant At Her Home Reportedly Says Experience Is Like Having ‘Personal Chef’
‘It’s a delight. And it’s really fun having them'
The Obama family’s personal chef was tragically confirmed dead on Monday after he had been reported missing.
The chef, Tafari Campbell, is speculated to have drowned while paddleboarding near the Obamas' Martha’s Vineyard estate. Campbell was a White House sous chef during Obama’s presidency and left in 2016 to work for the former president.
The search for the chef began after another paddleboarder saw him go under water, come back up, and then struggle to stay afloat. He then submerged again and did not come back up.
Campbell left behind a wife and twin sons.
While his cause of death is not yet known, many people are wondering if there was foul play involved.
“Of course everybody’s immediately speculating,” Chad Prather says. “‘He knew too much, he saw Big Mike in the kitchen,’” he jokes.
However, Prather believes this kind of speculation — while warranted — is probably not correct.
“I’m thinking that if I am a former president and I need to get rid of someone, it’s not going to be right outside the house. Right? I’m not gonna’ drown him in the great pond right there by my 12 million dollar estate.”
According to reports, Campbell was an unlikely candidate for drowning, as he was a trained swimmer.
“Will they ever let you know the cause of death? Will they test for vaccines?” Prather asks.
“Maybe he had a cardiac arrest, we don’t know,” Prather continues, “I don’t know, the mind goes crazy.”

Canada's latest firearm ban (otherwise known as Bill C-21) is receiving pushback from some of Canada's biggest personalities, including active National Hockey League All-Star and Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price. The latest ban comes just a couple of months after a handgun ban went into affect, putting a stop to any handgun sales, purchases, or transfers in Canada.
Price, who is widely considered to be one of the best goalies ever to play in the NHL, took to his Instagram account to voice his opinion on the matter:
"I love my family, I love my country and I care for my neighbour. I am not a criminal or a threat to society. What Justin Trudeau is trying to do is unjust. I support the CCFR to keep my hunting tools. Thank you for listening to my opinion."
Price is joined in his rejection of the proposed additions by fellow outspoken hockey player Theo Fleury, as well as other personalities such as celebrity chef Michael Hunter.
The legislation seeks to create a definition of a "prohibited assault-style firearm" for which no definition exists in Canadian law, despite the term being referred to many times in legislation already. At 309 pages, the proposed list would ban an large number of shotguns and rifles, including but not limited to what would be considered hunting rifles and shotguns, as well as those that would be used by military or police. Many popular Barrett, Sig Sauer, and Heckler and Koch firearms would be added to Canada's already exhaustive weapons ban list, which often names very rare historical or collectible firearms.
Some conservative politicians in the country have spoken out against the ban, such as Conservative Member of Parliament Glen Motz, who said he thought "it was a deliberate attempt to mislead the Canadian public and mislead Parliament."
The legislation was first announced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in May 2022 on Twitter, with a message decreeing, "One Canadian killed by gun violence is one too many. That’s why we’ve banned 1,500 types of military-style assault firearms. And that’s why, today, we’ve introduced legislation to further strengthen gun control in Canada."

As there has been no agreement under the law that defines the functionality nor any one type of firearms' inherent dangers over another, Canadian legislation simply contains a list of banned firearms/weapons that has continuously been added to since 1998.

Joe Tahanian owns The Wine Bar in Montrose, California. A year ago, he made headlines when he tried to fight the coronavirus lockdowns that were crippling his business.
After even selling his furniture to stay afloat, Tahanian told a local reporter this week that it was the end of the line for his business. But once the story got out, heroes stepped in.
KTTV-TV reporter Bill Melugin tweeted Thursday, "April 2020, I took these photos of Joe Tahanian, owner of The Wine Cave, a bar in Montrose. We did a story w/ him about how he planned to stay open during lockdowns. The day after it aired, authorities threatened him, & he complied. He just called me. He lost his business today."

Melugin attached the story he did on Tahanian last year, where The Wine Bar owner explained that he felt he had no choice but to defy lockdowns because his business would not stay afloat otherwise. Tahanian said back then, "Unless they handcuff me and take me to jail, I will not close."
After hearing of Tahanian's plight, celebrity chef Andrew Gruel tweeted Friday, "Just spoke with Joseph. We need to raise $100k to get his business back on track. We will contribute what we can. Please spread the word and help by donating to our gofundme below. All $ from this point forward will go to Joseph."
Gruel has worked to raise funds for restaurants and their workers amid the lockdowns, and has been a thorn in the side of California officials killing the businesses with COVID-19 restrictions.
According to Melugin, Gruel also reached out Dave Portnoy, president of Barstool Sports, who has saved numerous small businesses across the country with tens of millions raised through his initiative, the Barstool Fund.
Portnoy told Tahanian that Barstool Fund would supply the $100,000 needed for him to keep The Wine Bar, and the business owner would also be receiving another $10,000 raised by Gruel.

In reaction to Melugin's tweets about Tahanian on Friday, one person lashed out at the reporter, saying, "It is not the fault of the government or the authorities that he lost his business. It's the fault of the people who refused to comply with simple and reasonable preventive measures to stop the spread of an infection."
Melugin replied, "He has been shut down since last April. He complied. Even sold off all his furniture on Craigslist to try to stay afloat as long as he could. His reward for complying was losing everything he ever worked for. 100% the fault of government rules. No revenue for an entire year."

When reached for reaction to Tahanian's story, Melugin told TheBlaze, "I'm thrilled both Chef Gruel and Portnoy stepped up to help Joe out. He's a really good guy and was on the verge of losing everything through no fault of his own. Happy that his story went viral and he got some quick help! He deserves it."
Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom was seen inside a restaurant in Fresno, California, where restaurants are only permitted to be open if they are outside because of Newsom's own stay-at-home order.
Newsom is seen on a TikTok video and photos at the Los Amigos restaurant in Fresno. Based on Newsom's "Blueprint for a Safer Economy" restrictions, Fresno is a purple tier area, which means the area has "widespread" COVID-19 infections. Purple tier regions prohibit bars, breweries, and distilleries to be open, plus indoor dining is banned. Only restaurants and wineries may offer outdoor service.
Despite Newsom's own strict coronavirus constraints that he signed into effect, the governor was inside a restaurant. Newsom, who has preached social distancing to his constituents for months, is seen not physically distancing in the restaurant.

In a video posted by the restaurant, Lopez is seen without a face mask and not practicing social distancing, which Newsom has demanded all Californians practice since the beginning of the pandemic.
Chef Andrew Gruel, a prominent restaurateur in Los Angeles, claimed that Newsom was "dining/drinking" at the restaurant. He astutely noted that the restaurant had a table full of refreshments that commenters believe to be pitchers of water with limes or margaritas.

Gruel called for Newsom's resignation on Twitter:
Newsom must resign ASAP. Yesterday he was inside a restaurant dining and doing a painfully cringe-worthy "bit" with George Lopez in a county that is NOT ALLOWED to have indoor dining. It is in purple tier. This is a slap in the face to every restaurant worker. Every citizen.

A spokesperson for Newsom's office told Fox News that the governor did not dine at the restaurant. Newsom's camp said he was there to meet with the restaurant's owners, who received a COVID-19 relief grant.
Newsom infamously sparked criticism in November after he flouted his own coronavirus rules when he was caught dining at the luxurious French Laundry in Napa. The Michelin-star restaurant reportedly received $2.4 million in Paycheck Protection Program loans from the Small Business Administration, which is allegedly 17 times more than the average California restaurant.

California voters who are disappointed in Newsom's leadership and hypocrisy during the coronavirus pandemic have started a petition to recall him. The petition organized by The Recall Newsom campaign purportedly has 1,825,000 signatures, more than the necessary threshold of 1,497,709 signatures.
During a speech at CPAC, former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell hinted that he may run for governor of California if Newsom is recalled.
Celebrity Chef Andrew Gruel is making headlines after going viral for posting a video on social media blasting California Gov. Gavin Newsom's lockdown order banning outdoor dining.
In his message, Gruel — a former Food Network judge who owns seafood franchise Slapfish — vowed to keep his restaurants open for outdoor business despite the governor's order, arguing that there is no scientific basis for the ban and that Newsom is the "a**hole."
On Thursday, Gov. Newsom announced renewed coronavirus lockdowns across several regions in the state, forcing bars, salons, and other businesses to close up and go without income in an effort to stave off the spread of COVID-19. Restaurants in the affected areas would also have to shut down both indoor and outdoor dining, after many owners made steep investments to provide outdoor dining areas in reaction to previous orders.
In reaction to Newsom's new lockdown order, Gruel tweeted, "What did I say yesterday? I will not comply." He also noted that he had "just spent thousands" on outdoor heat lamps, joking that he would "be dropping these off at my local gov office for a full refund plus 10% interest."

Some of the chef's followers gave him heat over his defiance of the order, so he followed up with a video message to all the "haters" he says were calling him "a grandmother killer" and accusing him of not taking the coronavirus seriously.
"Here's the situation," Gruel said. "Do we take the pandemic seriously? Of course we do. Am I saying that we shouldn't close outdoor dining? Yes I am."
He explained, "At every single juncture along the way here, from the beginning shutdown to today, we've listened to all of the advice from government officials, only to be shut down over and over and over again and then not compensated for the elements that we put in place in our businesses in order to protect our customers."
Gruel argued, "There is zero scientific evidence that proves that outdoor dining is contributing to a rise in cases related to this, alright—I'm only saying we're going to continue dining outdoors." He noted that people can still fly on airplanes and go to stores like Walmart.
In closing, the chef told his critics, "Outdoor dining does not lead to any of that. Therefore, screw that, we're staying opened outdoors. It's that simple. I'm not an a**hole. The governor is."
My message for all the haters. Please share the logic. Sorry, haven’t had a haircut since March. https://t.co/SOjy3bt4l5— Chef Andrew Gruel (@Chef Andrew Gruel)1607035974.0
Newsom already faced heavy criticism leading up to his most recent crackdown, after he was busted weeks ago defying his own guidelines dining with several people at a swanky restaurant to celebrate the birthday of a lobbyist. The governor apologize after his actions were exposed.
