Journalist exposes media outlet paying millions to US companies to publish propaganda disguised as news articles

It appears that major U.S. media outlets have been receiving millions of dollars from China Daily, a state-owned Chinese media company.

All China Daily has asked for in exchange for the millions is that these American publications publish Chinese propaganda disguised as news articles.

According to Drew Holden from the Washington Free Beacon, China Daily is “a mouthpiece for the Chinese Communist Party.”

“It’s fully owned and operated by the CCP,” Holden tells Stu Burguiere, revealing that media outlets were getting paid “to include puff pieces about the Chinese regime” and “to talk about U.S.-China relations” in “ways that weren’t connected to the facts at all.”

The New York Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal had all been a part of this before severing their connections with China Daily when news got out about their involvement in 2021.

Time magazine has also partnered up with China Daily, receiving $3.5 million from the CCP-operated company since 2021.

Time created a segment called “China Watch,” which is a segment on Time’s website that runs advertisements that Holden says “really just look like bad news articles under the Time magazine logo.”

“They’re all gonna stop and stop taking the Chinese propaganda money. Right, Drew?” Stu Burguiere asks, noting that it would make sense now that they’ve been caught.

“You would think,” Holden laughs.

“Straight propaganda from our geopolitical nemesis in China being printed underneath their logos to be distributed to their readership, and they’re taking a ton of money to do this,” he adds.

In bills to bar communist China from buying US land, we need big strides, not baby steps

As tensions rise between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party, Congress must act to prevent China's further acquisition of American land.

Whitlock: Showtime’s racist documentary, Joe Biden’s crack-pipe giveaway, and Visa’s Olympics commercial point to China’s harmful influence on American culture

Showtime’s three-part documentary series “Everything’s Gonna Be All White” should be renamed “The Rebirth of a Nation,” presented by the Chinese Communist Party.

Based on its two-minute trailer, “All White” aspires to be an all-black adaptation of the infamous 1915 racist propaganda film “The Birth of a Nation.” Ibram X. Kendi and his racial acolytes sit in front of cameras and spew anti-white racism.

An older black woman declares: “One of the definitions of American whiteness is ignorance.” The teaser closes with a different declaration from a different black woman: “This is a wild place, y’all. It’s a wild place. I know Harriet (Tubman) and Frederick (Douglass) be up there, just like, ‘What is they goin’ do?’”

It’s unlikely that “All White,” which debuts Friday, will reach the kind of massive audience that flocked to see “Birth of a Nation,” an anti-black silent movie. There was far less competition for eyeballs 100 years ago. But “All White” is part of a collective of movies, documentaries, and TV shows with the same central theme: White people are evil.

When it comes to anti-white racism, Hollywood has been paid to remove all subtlety. From “The Hate You Give” to “Get Out” to “Dear White People” to the endless supply of racial documentaries on Netflix, Hollywood producers are taking checks to hammer the theme that white Americans are the root of all evil.

Hollywood should be renamed Chinatown, a Western outpost for the Chinese Communist Party. Foreign money, particularly from China, continues to pervert Hollywood.

This is not good. Racism, regardless of the target, is unhealthy and counterproductive. It drives domestic division and animus. For making this obvious point, some people will label me a honky-lover, a sellout, a race traitor. My true crime is sticking to the values I was taught as a Christian.

My faith compels me to oppose racism. That has been my passion since childhood. In eighth grade, when my junior high began busing in black kids to further integrate the school, I was chosen as a leader to bring the white and black kids together. I played the same role at my high school, as the captain of our nationally ranked football team.

I saw myself as an extension of Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream of men and women judged by the content of their character and not their skin color. Much of my work as a journalist from 1992 to 2010 focused on analyzing America’s racial divide through the lens of sports. In 2008, I won the Scripps Howard National Journalism Award for commentary for my ability to “integrate sports commentary with social commentary and to challenge widely held assumptions along the racial divide.”

Many of my critics claim that my point of view has changed drastically over the past 14 years. They claim I’ve become a conservative political partisan and only criticize the Left. I have not changed. I’m not a political partisan. My morals and values have not changed. Journalism and American culture have changed drastically over the past 14 years. Anti-white bigotry has become popular in American culture.

I constantly criticize the Left because the Left has rejected Christianity and embraced racism. I was born in 1967, a year before the assassination of Dr. King. I see myself as a descendant of Dr. King’s dream. Dr. King was a Christian who fought racism. I do not know Dr. King’s political affiliation.

I believe Dr. King would be appalled by the racism that is being sanctioned by the Left. From critical race theory in schools to the New York Times 1619 Project to “Everything’s Gonna Be All White,” the Left and its global corporate partners are aggressively pushing racism. It’s not just anti-white racism. It’s anti-black racism, too.

Visa released a Winter Olympics commercial that analogized being black to having cancer or being an amputee.

My critics claim I ignore the racism of conservatives. They say that voter ID laws are racist and the new Jim Crow. I find that claim a ridiculous distortion of history. It’s not remotely unfair or racist to require voters to show a government-approved ID.

Well, what about January 6, white Trump supporters, and the insurrection?

White Trump supporters are primarily angry at white leftists for demonizing them as the worst people on the planet and ignoring their legitimate concerns. The theory that Trump voters are motivated by anti-black racism is a hypothesis white liberals popularized to blind black people to the bigotry of the Left.

I’m sure there is some portion of Trump’s base that is motivated by bigotry. But those aren’t the people financing Visa commercials analogizing blackness to cancer and being crippled. Those aren’t the people arguing that black people cannot achieve in this country without the charity of white people. Those aren’t the people setting aside $30 million for crack pipes to pass out to black people.

President Joe Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services concocted the crack pipe giveaway as part of a racial equity initiative.

Black Crack Matters!

The Left is rolling back the racial progress Dr. King’s generation won. Leftists have turned American society into a mash-up of the iconic racial sketch comedy shows “In Living Color” and “The Chappelle Show.”

Yesterday, rapper Jim Jones posted a video complaining that a Gucci store in California failed to provide him sparkling water and champagne while he shopped in its VIP section. He accused the store of racism and ridiculed the black employee who tried to assist him.

At the behest of homogeneous and racist China, and for the rewards delivered by the global corporations seeking China’s favor, the Left has turned America’s diversity into our Achilles heel. They’re rebirthing our nation by taking us back to a racist future.

“Everything’s Gonna Be All White” is just more Chinese propaganda packaged as racial justice. Racism is the tool China is using to screw America.

DC radio station took $4.4 million from Chinese Communist Party to broadcast propaganda

A Washington, D.C., radio station took $4.4 million from the Chinese Communist Party over the past two years to broadcast propaganda, according to a report from the Washington Free Beacon.

The radio station WCRW-AM aired content from China Global Television Network and several talk shows that portray China in a positive light as part of a deal its parent company, Potomac Media Group, struck with the CCP. In filings with the Justice Department submitted last Thursday, the Virginia-based Potomac Media Group disclosed its contract with the Communist Party’s International Communication Planning Bureau.

Under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, U.S. law requires that anyone inside the United States seeking to influence American policy or public opinion on behalf of a foreign government or group must register with the Department of Justice.

The Free Beacon reported that Potomac Media's filing details how the International Communication Planning Bureau, an arm of China's propaganda ministry, is permitted to review broadcasts and verify programming aired on WCRW. Potomac Media is contractually obligated to provide the Planning Bureau with reports on audience reach, feedback, and "evaluation from international organizations."

The payments of $4.4 million cover the period between July 2018 and August 2021. WCRW was paid for broadcasting CGTN content, social media promotion, and for production of "The Bridge" talk show, according to the Free Beacon.

The report indicated Potomac Media's registration as a foreign agent comes at a time when the federal government is tightening enforcement of foreign agent laws, requiring state-controlled media companies in China, Russia, and Turkey to register their activities with the Justice Department. CGTN was required to register as a foreign agent in 2019, the Free Beacon notes.

WCRW has reportedly aired content from state-run China Radio International since 1992 but has not until now registered as a foreign agent with the Justice Department.

In 2015, Reuters reported that the FCC would investigate allegations that WCRW was controlled by China Radio International. At the same time, the Department of Justice announced an investigation to determine whether CRI was in compliance with the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

At the time, Reuters reported that 60% of the station's airtime was leased by a subsidiary of CRI.

China's partnership with a U.S. radio station is just one part of a multifaceted strategy to promote propaganda in the United States. Chinese state-run media organizations have relied on social media and publication deals with American newspapers and magazines to promote their content to Western audiences. The Free Beacon observed that China Daily, a state run-newspaper, has paid news outlets like Time, Foreign Policy, and the Wall Street Journal millions of dollars to run its articles online.

Report: China told Amazon to delete negative reviews of Xi Jinping's book, and the company complied

As part of a larger effort to win favor with China's communist government and expand its business, Amazon complied with the Communist Party's requests to delete negative comments and reviews of dictator Xi Jinping's book.

A report by Reuters detailed for the first time how ratings, comments, and reviews were removed from the listing of Xi's "the Governance of China," a collection of his speeches and writings, on Amazon's Chinese website in 2018. The demand for censorship was prompted by negative reviews of Xi's book on Amazon's five-star rating system, according to sources who spoke to Reuters.

"I think the issue was anything under five stars," one of the sources said.

Amazon complied with the Chinese government's edict, and Reuters reports that today comments, ratings, and reviews remain disabled on Amazon's Chinese site, Amazon.cn.

It's yet another example of U.S. companies bending over backward to please Chinese tyrants in order to make money.

Reuters reported 2018 internal documents from Amazon that outlined the company's strategy for engaging with the Chinese government in order to sell more of its Kindle e-book readers and cloud computing services in China.

The document reportedly acknowledged, "Ideological control and propaganda is the core of the toolkit for the communist party to achieve and maintain its success."

"We are not making judgement on whether it is right or wrong," the company said, according to Reuters.

A "core element" of Amazon's strategy to appease Chinese propagandists was to create a selling portal on the company's U.S. site, Amazon.com, called China Books. The books sold on that webpage include many apolitical titles like Chinese language textbooks, cookbooks, and children's bedtime stories. But Reuters notes Amazon also sells propaganda that extols the virtues of China while covering up the brutal human rights abuses of Uyghurs in the country's Xinjiang region.

The 2018 briefing document was prepared for Jay Carney, the current global head of Amazon's lobbying and public policy operations and former White House press secretary during the Obama administration. It describes "the Chinabooks project" as a "key element to safeguard" against problems obtaining licenses to sell e-books on Kindle in China.

Amazon is also invested in expanding Amazon Web Services in China, a cloud computing service many foreign companies use to export goods and services abroad.

Reuters reported that AWS has become one of the largest providers to Chinese companies globally. The 2018 briefing document prepared for Carney indicated the company was receiving an "increasing number of requests from (Chinese) watchdogs to take down certain content, mostly politically sensitive ones."

Amazon has reportedly pushed back on some censorship demands. The company refused a request from the CCP to remove content and block a website hosted in the United States for Chinese dissident Guo Wengui.

In a statement, the e-commerce corporation told Reuters it "complies with all applicable laws and regulations, wherever we operate, and China is no exception."

The company added: "As a bookseller, we believe that providing access to the written word and diverse perspectives is important. That includes books that some may find objectionable."
