Portland rioters attack federal courthouse, set fires, and bash Biden: 'New president same imperialism'

Violence erupted in Portland on Thursday night as rioters targeted the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse. Federal officers were dispatched to quell the unrest that included fires and windows smashed.

There had been regular protests and riots in downtown Portland since the May 25 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Despite frequent and reoccurring unrest in the area of the federal courthouse, the protective fence surrounding the federal courthouse was taken down Thursday for the first time since last summer, KGW reported.

Black-clad protesters swarmed the Oregon courthouse Thursday night. A group of around 50 gathered at the federal courthouse building, according to KOIN reporter Jennifer Dowling. Fires were set near the courthouse, and rioters ripped down plywood in order to break the windows on the federal building. One rioter used a scooter to smash a window.

Black Lives Matter militants harass young girls for their 'white privilege' as they walk into cheerleading competition

Black Lives Matter militants harassed groups of young girls for their "white privilege" as they walked into a cheerleading competition in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, on Saturday.

What happened?

As one group of cheerleaders crossed the street into the Kentucky International Convention Center, Carmen M. Jones spelled out a message for them as she spoke into a megaphone, WDRB-TV reported.

"The reason why you get to be here in these pretty little gorgeous outfits and your gorgeous hair and your gorgeous bows is because of your white privilege," Jones said, according to the station. "Breonna [Taylor] is dead. Black mothers are burying their babies while white mothers send their daughters to cheer competitions."

Here's the clip:

— Ian Miles Cheong (@Ian Miles Cheong) 1615124259.0

Jones also appeared to command the cheerleaders to "do something black today with your white privilege." WDRB also said protesters held signs and used chants with profanities as the children walked in and out of the building.

Another video shows what appears to be a protester holding a rifle as the group faces down a group of police officers in front of the convention center:

Image source: Twitter video screenshot via @CIA-Simulation Warlord

In the second video Jones can be heard on the megaphone hollering — apparently to cops — "We are not afraid of you! We are not intimidated by you!"

Then as another group of young girls headed into the cheerleading competition, Jones could be heard saying "they don't give a f*** about y'all!" One of the protester's signs read, "F*** the police."

Here's the clip. (Content warning: Profanity):

One dad isn't happy

A father of cheerleaders told WDRB that protesters "were badgering them all the way in the door" and that his oldest daughter "cried for about an hour" after the interaction.

"You could see it affected all these kids," the father told the station, only giving his first name — Rob — and not showing his face on camera during an interview.

Rob told WDRB that the protesters have a right to be there but should have left children out of it: "If there's a problem within life, you keep it between adults. You don't take kids and add them into the problems. It had nothing to do with them. Even if you have something that you're passionate about. That wasn't the way to go about it."

The station said Louisville police made three arrests at the protest, and among the charges were disorderly conduct and obstructing a highway.

Black Lives Matter leader is unmoved

Jones told WDRB that she and fellow protesters stand by their words and methods: "Yes, I did tell them 'Don't be somebody that my child is going to have to fight.' Because right now I'm fighting the grandchildren, the great-grandchildren of people's ancestors who didn't do right."

She added to the station that "Breonna Taylor will never be able to have a child to be able to take to a cheer competition. If black kids are children enough, and child enough, and mature enough to go through the things that we go through as children, then their children are children enough, child enough. and mature enough to learn about their privilege."

This Saturday will be the one-year anniversary of the death of Taylor, a 26-year-old black woman shot six times by Louisville police officers during a "no-knock" search warrant at her apartment. Officers returned fire after Taylor's boyfriend fired his gun thinking he and Taylor were robbery targets. Police suspected Taylor's apartment was being used to traffic drugs, but no drugs or money were found during the search. The incident ignited public outrage and protests around the country.

VIDEO: BLM rioters smash windows of homes in residential Wisconsin after DA doesn't charge cop in fatal shooting

Black Lives Matter protests and riots erupted Wednesday night in Wisconsin following the decision to not charge a police officer in the fatal shooting of an armed 17-year-old in February. The civil unrest broke out in residential areas of Wauwatosa, a city west of Milwaukee with a population of 48,000.

Videos show BLM protesters smashed the windows of homes in Wauwatosa. One person yells, "That's somebody's home!"

The situation became so serious that the Wauwatosa police warned local residents to "shelter in their homes, lock their doors, and move away from windows." Police fired tear gas outside homes in an effort to disperse the crowd.

Independent reporter Brendan Gutenschwager and Town Hall reporter Julio Rosas covered the protests and riots in the residential area and shared video of the chaotic scene.

The protests were ignited by the decision by Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm to not charge Officer Joseph Mensah, who lethally shot 17-year-old Alvin Cole on Feb. 2 after the teen fired a stolen gun.

In a 14-page letter, Chisholm declared that Mensah acted in self-defense.

"In this case, there is sufficient evidence that Officer Mensah had an actual subjective belief that deadly force was necessary and that belief was objectively reasonable," Chisholm said. "I do not believe that the State could disprove self-defense or defense of others in this case and therefore could not meet the burden required to charge Officer Mensah."

Chisholm wrote that Cole was "encountered by Wauwatosa Police officers in the parking lot of Mayfair Mall, ran from the police, discharged the firearm and was ordered to surrender the weapon." The investigation stated that Cole "did not surrender the weapon and was fired upon by Officer Mensah causing his death."

Louisville protests peaceful on third evening after Breonna Taylor decision

Protesters in Louisville, Kentucky, marched and rallied peacefully for several hours as of 11:00 p.m. EST on Friday, in what was the third evening of demonstrations held in protest of a grand jury's decision Wednesday not to charge three police officers in the death of Breonna Taylor, who was killed in a police raid in March.

What are the details?

Early in the evening, the mood appeared tense as some protesters were seen yelling and antagonizing police officers who were on the scene. Much of the footage available was captured by "independent guy on the scene" Brendan Gutenschwager, who reported that media and cameras were welcomed by demonstrators on Friday.

One apparent organizer was seen on video declaring that protesters would be "going to war tonight," and advising those with pre-existing conditions not to stay out past the city-imposed 9:00 p.m. curfew while warning that they would likely end up in jail overnight.

VIDEO: Crowd swarms pickup during Hollywood protest after driver strikes protester. As things get crazy, pickup speeds off.

Thursday night protests in Hollywood, California, saw one demonstrator struck by a vehicle as they were reportedly blocking the road.

What are the details?

According to KABC-TV, demonstrators marched through Hollywood Thursday night in protest of police brutality and the recent indictment announcement in the Breonna Taylor case.

During one incident, a pickup was seen attempting to maneuver its way through a crowd of protesters on Sunset Boulevard.

The LAPD, in a statement posted to Twitter, addressed one of the many incidents, captioning it, "The LAPD is aware of an incident in Hollywood involving several vehicles and a large group of protesters. Here is the information we can verify at this time."

The statement said, "Just after 7:00 pm Thursday evening, a group of more than 300 protesters marched through Hollywood. While there were isolated reports of vandalism, the group was largely peaceful. The group eventually made its way onto Sunset Boulevard."

The LAPD said that a blue pickup truck that was traveling down Sunset Boulevard "became involved in an altercation" as it attempted to make its way through the crowd.

While attempting to get away from the protest, the driver reportedly struck a protester who was standing in the road. The protester was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries.

"Shortly after 9:00 pm a blue pick-up truck traveling on Sunset maneuvered through the crowd and became involved in an altercation," the LAPD's statement continued. "As the driver attempted to get away from the situation, he struck a protester standing in the street. That individual was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries."

What else?

A video shared on social media shows the moments leading up to the driver of the blue pickup truck striking the protester, who has what appears to be a sign in their hands and can be seen sliding on their back across the ground.

After the truck struck the protester, the crowd began to swarm the pickup. As tension built, the pickup driver sped off.

People can be heard screaming and shouting "Oh my God" as the driver leaves the scene.

A social media user shared the clip on Twitter, captioning it, "Full Clip, Truck hits protestor [sic], protestors [sic] swarm vehicle to apprehend/stop driver, Driver flees scene, runs completely over the protestor [sic] he hit."

The LAPD in its statement did not confirm that the protester in question was "completely" run over as the driver left the scene, as reported on social media, or if the protester was in the direct path of the blue pickup truck as it drove away, striking them a second time.
