Video: Massive overflow audience descends upon Kirk Cameron's reading of his God-focused children's book at Indianapolis Public Library

It was a mob scene Thursday at Kirk Cameron's reading of his God-focused children's book at the Indianapolis Public Library — except this mob didn't do what mobs do; rather it was just smiles, cheering, and laughter all around.

“This is a message to every library in the United States:

In 137 years of the Indianapolis Public Library’s history, NEVER ONCE have they had over 2,500 people show up to a single event.

UNTIL TODAY.”

Folks even sang "God Bless America":

“At this point most are staying in line upstairs. Some are going downstairs. It's not clear when or if there will be an additional reading. Folks are singing in the aisles awaiting direction. An announcement was made on the intercom but couldn't hear. @KirkCameron @indylibrary”

Brave Books — Cameron's publisher for his "As You Grow" children's book — earlier this month said two public libraries agreed to let him do readings for kids after initially saying no to the actor and outspoken Christian.

Cameron told Fox News Digital he "won" after challenging the libraries' denials and threatening to "assert" his "rights in court" — not to mention the libraries hosted drag queen story hours in June, according to the cable network.

One of the libraries to agree to Cameron's reading was the Indianapolis Public Library; the other was Scarsdale (New York) Public Library, where Cameron was scheduled to do a reading Friday.

Check out Cameron addressing the huge crowd at the Indy library:

“What a turnout, Indianapolis!!

⁦@BraveBooksUS⁩”

"You guys! They're gonna let me speak over the loudspeaker, the PA, because there's about 1,000 people in the library on other floors that haven't gotten up here, so I'm gonna be talking to everybody in just a few minutes, and I just wanna thank them for coming and thank you for coming and making this such a special event today!"

“Wow! What an incredible turnout!

Thank you to everyone who gave up their morning to join us in Indianapolis!

We are so humbled & thankful for your support!

@KirkCameron”

One attendee tweeted that "library staff has informed patrons that there will not be room for all guests to enjoy the book reading. As you can see, the building appears well beyond capacity."

“@BraveBooksUS @KirkCameron Story time was great today! I think the best part for adults was listening to the librarian say there were too many people on the 6th floor & ask parents to bring the kids to a different floor for a different activity 😂 We all wanted Kirk's story time!”

“Quite the line to see @KirkCameron in Indy! I would suggest @indylibrary failed to serve the needs of its' constituents by not having this event downstairs. But God is good and all are still welcome in the small room!”

Over 50 public libraries across the U.S. either rejected Cameron's requests for a story-hour program for children or did not respond to his publisher's inquiries, Fox News said, citing Brave Books.

Initially, the Indianapolis library employee who spoke to Brave Books about Cameron's reading said, "We are really looking at authors who are diverse. Authors of color. That’s really been our focus," the cable network reported.

When Brave Books countered that Cameron's book also adds to diversity of ideas and beliefs, the library representative replied, "Well, we are focusing on racial equity," Fox News said.

Fox News Digital said it reached out to both libraries for comment.

Bill Maher mocks the left's ridiculous sexuality-gender obsession with 'pride flag' parody

HBO host Bill Maher took aim at the left's ridiculous obsession with sexual orientation and "pride flags" with a little absurdity of his own on a recent episode of "Real Time with Bill Maher."

Maher shared a video clip from his show on Twitter with the caption "Gay pride month is coming up, and we feel at @RealTimers that 96 different Pride flags are just not enough."

In the clip, Maher shared a graphic of "96 pride flags" to represent supposed "sexual orientations," such as Sapiosexual, Rubber Pride, Lithromantic, and Queerplatonic.

"But we feel, at Real Time here, that this is not enough. I'm sorry, it's very exclusionary," Maher joked. "There are some other groups that should be represented. Would you like to see their flags?" he asked, receiving enthusiastic applause.

Maher went on to share his own ridiculous pride flags, including Quasi-homo-modo-sexual, Canisexual, Retrosexual, Literosexual, Doofusexual, and more.

Critics on Twitter gave Maher mixed reviews:

Great bit. It would be funnier if it weren’t true…

It allows them to claim marginalized status and all of the victimhood that comes with it, which is a powerful currency today.

They have conflated preferences, kinks, personality, fetishes, hobbies, and fashion with gender and sexuality.
It's hyper-arrested-development.
It's silly childish stuff invented by adults with the brains and social development of preschoolers.
Pretend play meets social justice.

That's exactly what it is. These people are trying to construct an identity out of labels in lieu of having an actual personality.

Allright allright. Ive been annoyed AF at Bill lately. All his focus on the “woke”. But that was funny. I did laught out loud. And before anyone calls me a homophobe-Im very gay. Gold Star + level. (The plus part is because I was a c-section birth)

University of Pennsylvania hails transgender swimmer Lia Thomas as 'the first Quaker female swimmer to win an NCAA individual title'

Transgender University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas, a biological male who competes in women's swimming, won a 500-yard freestyle at the 2022 NCAA Championships.

The school hailed the news, claiming that Thomas "became the first Quaker female swimmer to win an NCAA individual title."

According to CNN, the victory makes Thomas the first transgender individual to win a NCAA Division I title.

Thomas won the race with a time of 4:33.24, which was more than one second faster than Emma Weyant, who placed second with a time of 4:34.99.

Thomas could score even more wins soon — the controversial swimmer is also slated to participate in the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle.

The issue of whether biological men should be allowed to compete in sports designated for women remains an issue of significant cultural contention, and Thomas has added fuel to the proverbial fire by racking up wins.

"The very simple answer is that I’m not a man," Thomas previously told Sports Illustrated. "I'm a woman, so I belong on the women’s team. Trans people deserve that same respect every other athlete gets."

Concerned Women for America has lodged a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights against the University of Pennsylvania, alleging that Thomas's inclusion in women's swimming runs afoul of Title IX.

"We plead for you to issue clear, decisive guidance to clarify the law and prevent colleges and university athletic programs from violating women's rights by allowing biological male athletes to compete in the women's category of sport," the complaint says. "Protecting all female student-athletes from this type of injustice is the very essence of OCR's mission to ensure equal access to educational opportunities and benefits the law requires under Title IX."

The complaint is filed in light of UPenn’s violations of the protections for women on the basis of sex secure a half-century ago in the landmark passage of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
