Mother sold 5-year-old daughter as sex slave before the child was found murdered: Police

Authorities say that the mother of a murdered 5-year-old girl reportedly sold her child as a sex slave before the child was brutally murdered.

Police charged 37-year-old Jeremy Tremain Williams in connection with the child's death and charged 35-year-old Kristy Marie Siple with murder during a kidnapping, murder during rape, murder during sodomy, and human trafficking.

What are the details?

Authorities discovered the lifeless body of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland in December after Williams allegedly asphyxiated the child with a ligature.

A warrant against Siple — who also goes by Kristy Hoskins — states that the woman knowingly subjected the child to sexual servitude.

“She did agree with another person to pay her for having sexual intercourse and sodomy with her minor daughter,’’ the document states, according to AL.com.

The outlet reported that the horror unfolded on Dec. 13 when Kamarie Holland was visiting Siple. The child's father, Corey Holland, had custody.

Siple told authorities that she awoke in the middle of the night to find her child gone and the front door wide open.

After a brief investigation, police named Williams — known to Siple as an acquaintance — as a potential suspect. Authorities quickly located Williams and a relative at a Phenix City, Alabama, motel, where they questioned the pair over the child's disappearance. Authorities visited a previous Phenix City address for Williams, where they discovered the child's body.

Williams was arrested and charged with capital murder of a person under the age of 14. More charges are expected, according to the report, including capital murder during a kidnapping, capital murder during a rape, capital murder during sodomy, and production of child pornography.

Siple previously denied having anything to do with the child's murder.

“I’m a mommy and I did not have nothing to do with this," she insisted following her daughter's murder. "She was my life and I lived for her daily. She was my only daughter.”

Williams was previously charged with child abuse in 2009.

“This is a case that tugs at everybody’s heartstrings,’’ Russell County Chief Deputy District Attorney Rick Chancey said during a Wednesday news conference. “To go to that funeral the other day, it just breaks your heart to know that Kamarie is no longer with us.”

“Please, parents, take care of your kids, watch your kids,’’ Chancey added. “Be careful who your kids are around. I shouldn’t have to state that. This is a bad world and let’s take care of our kids.”

According to Fox News, Kamarie's father said, "The amount of pain Kristy has caused by ripping Kamarie out of our lives will never cease. We are glad to see that she has been arrested. We are one step closer to justice for Kamarie. It’s our hope that justice is served. Kristy should receive whatever the maximum penalty she can get."

"She’s a monster," Holland continued. "A real mother protects and would die for her children. Kristy is a monster. My family and I will continue to wrestle with the loss of losing our angel Kamarie. We will ask that you continue to make your news about her and the justice she deserves."

Female police officer facing felony charges after firing on thieves who stole her vehicle

An off-duty Chicago police officer is facing felony charges after reportedly shooting at thieves who allegedly stole her SUV.

What are the details?

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, 58-year-old Oneta Sampson Carney opened fire Saturday on car thieves who stole her Toyota 4Runner while she and her husband were loading groceries into their vehicle at an area Sam's Club.

In a report, prosecutors said that three male suspects approached Carney and her husband while they placed bags into their vehicle's trunk as the incident began to unfold.

Two approached Carney and her husband and asked if they could help with the groceries when the third suspect jumped into the couple's SUV and sped away through the parking lot. The other two suspects ran off on foot as Sampson and her husband gave chase.

The driver then reportedly stopped as one of the other suspects gained ground on the SUV, and that's when Carney reportedly fired a single shot using a 9mm handgun.

The bullet was said to have struck the ground behind the SUV as its driver continued to flee.

All suspects were able to escape without further contact.

Carney then called 911 to report the theft, but did not report that she'd discharged her weapon until responding officers arrived at the scene.

At the time of Carney's purported shooting, children and other people were present in the parking lot, and a second vehicle was driving down the same aisle in the lot, prosecutors said.

"The officer gave chase to the vehicle on foot and fired one round from her firearm at the fleeing vehicle," a spokesperson for the Evergreen Park police said in a statement, according to WGN-TV.

Authorities charged Carney — a sergeant who is described as a 19-year veteran of the police force — with a single count of reckless discharge of a firearm and held her on $5,000 bail during her Sunday court hearing.

Carney's attorney did not respond to the Sun-Times' request for comment.

What else?

The SUV was later recovered Saturday night in the Loop, a Chicago Police Department source told the outlet.

The report noted that Chicago police later reported that officers saw a Toyota 4Runner that matched the description of Carney's stolen vehicle.

"The 4Runner ultimately came to a stop about 8:35 p.m. after rear-ending another vehicle in the 200 block of West Wacker Drive," the report noted. "Six suspects, including a 26-year-old man and five juveniles, were then taken into custody after attempting to flee."

WGN's report added that four of the five youths were charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle, and one male juvenile was charged with possessing a stolen motor vehicle, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and disobeying a red light.

VIDEO: Shooter opens fire on Miami Beach vacationer trying to protect his 1-year-old son, dances over dead body

A Georgia man is accused of shooting and killing a Miami Beach tourist while at a restaurant, according to a report from the New York Post.

The suspect, 22-year-old Tamarius Blair Davis of Norcross, Georgia, then reportedly danced over the victim's body in plain view of other patrons.

Davis is believed to have been under the influence of psychedelic mushrooms when he opened fire on 21-year-old Dustin Wakefield of Castle Rock, Colorado, at close range.

What are the details?

The incident took place at La Cerveceria de Barrio on Miami Beach's Ocean Drive on Tuesday night.

"This guy came in with a gun, waving it, saying, 'It's time to die.' He pointed the gun at his son and Dustin said, 'He's only a boy,'" the victim's uncle, Mike Wakefield, recalled. "Dustin stood up between the gunman and the baby and he shot him. He shot him multiple times on the ground."

Police soon responded to the scene for calls of shots fired and reportedly discovered an armed Davis attempting to open a locked door. He was taken into custody without incident.

Authorities believe the attack on Wakefield, father of a 1-year-old son who witnessed his father's execution, was random.

Davis reportedly confessed to police that he killed Wakefield, saying that being high on the psychedelic made him feel "empowered."

Witnesses to the shocking crime say that Davis was smiling and laughing throughout the attack.

Gunfire was also said to have struck another customer, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.

In a statement to the Associated Press, Davis' father Tommy said that his son did not have a history of criminal activity, nor did he suffer from mental health issues.

“You think you know your kid but you don't," he told the news agency. “It is possible someone gave him something. That is something we need to find out."

Davis faces charges of second-degree murder and attempted murder. He is being held without bond at the Miami-Dade County Jail.

The victim's uncle said that his nephew, who worked in construction, was "the kindest kid."

"He loved his family," he added. "He loved being a dad."
