Failed 'progressive pillow' guy David Hogg embarrasses himself in accidental pro-capitalism moment

Remember when Harvard's progressive prodigy David Hogg tried to launch a pillow company with entrepreneur William LeGate to show that terrible Trump-supporting pillow guy, Mike Lindell, how to "make a better pillow, run a better business and help make the world a better place while doing it"?

.@williamlegate and I are going to prove that progressives can make a better pillow, run a better business and help make the world a better place while doing it.
— David Hogg 🌻 (@David Hogg 🌻) 1612444983

Then the fight got "very real" (at least according to Hogg.)

Mike the “my pillow guy” is commenting on his soon too be progressive competition in the form of a progressive pillow company @williamlegate and I are starting.

This pillow fight just got very real @williamlegatehttps://www.axios.com/david-hogg-pillow-mike-lindell-mypillow-legate-6d23b1a7-50b1-4f31-9391-53e69e36ca58.html …
— David Hogg 🌻 (@David Hogg 🌻) 1612467021

Just a few months later, however, Hogg threw in the towel on his pillow-making match with Lindell.

7: Effective immediately, I have resigned and released all shares, any ownership and any control of Good Pillow LLC. I want to thank Will for his partnership and wish him absolutely nothing but success with the future of Good Pillow.
— David Hogg 🌻 (@David Hogg 🌻) 1618092006

Well, it looks like Hogg has decided to give entrepreneurship another try, only to run into the kind of "stupidly complicated and expensive processes" widely supported by pro-big-government, anti-capitalism progressives.

Luckily I made enough money from previous clients I worked for a 1099 to fund this but I can already see why there are so many people who can go beyond the LLC phase.

We’re losing market competition and innovation because of this system to keep things complicated to A stop completion and B keep lawyers and cpas employed. All of the above hurt consumers and keep prices high. All of which hurts social mobility, innovation, and the economy.
— David Hogg 🌻 (@David Hogg 🌻) 1650810528

There are many many examples of countries where the government works to support business and make regulation and taxes as simple as possible because they understand not doing so costs you economically and also is very annoying for business and individual citizens.
— David Hogg 🌻 (@David Hogg 🌻) 1650811116

Well, more than a few folks on Twitter noticed a certain irony in watching the young big-government advocate waking up to reality.

You’re about to get dragged hard, sport.

I’m working on getting a gun& the whole process is stupidly complicated&expensive. The government should be making it easy for people to buy & carry a gun like the 2nd Amendment says-not hard. Also there shouldn’t be this many regulations and paper work to carry across state lines

Wait until he gets audited. Wait until he pays a huge property tax bill. Wait until he is self-employed and has to pay a gigantic quarterly tax payment. Welcome to reality, pal.

Wow , someone’s learning the hard way. You know that President Trump try to make it easier for small businesses to exist by cutting the red tape involved in doing so?

David Hogg wants to know why you don't need a license to kill humans. No, really.

Gun control activist and Harvard whiz kid David Hagg took to Twitter to ask a very serious question about gun rights in this country, and he'd like to remind the court of public opinion that he's entitled to own special level of dumb.

“If you need a license to kill deer why don’t you need one to kill humans?” Hogg tweeted, adding “Plenty of people will think this is dumb- good for you. I’m not looking out for an election and I’m entitled to my own opinion no matter how much you disagree."

Well, ask and ye shall receive. Twitter was happy to offer David some friendly information and advice.

It's illegal to kill people.
— Ian Miles Cheong (@Ian Miles Cheong) 1648915280

Would rather keep murder illegal, but you're entitled to your opinion, Harvard McHitman
— Razor (@Razor) 1648933027
What if we made murder illegal? That could work.
— Rich (@Rich) 1648912868

The only time it is legal to kill someone, you have to get a lot more than a license, buddy. You have to get a final judgment from a jury that passes through dozens of appeals and then the person who does it still has to be licensed but otherwise sick burn on gun owners

I'll type slowly so you can keep up. Because we don't give out licenses to kill humans. We charge people who intentionally kill humans -- save in self-defense -- with committing a crime (in some cases punishable by death). Maybe you've seen too many James Bond movies?https://twitter.com/davidhogg111/status/1510274623283281926 …

— Buggward (@Buggward) 1648985394
Dear David - your thought is flawed. 1st deer are a food source like cows, chicken, pigs, etc. Your statement implies that by granting a license it would be perfectly fine to hunt fellow human beings. God Lord Son, seek professional help.
— Dr. Joe Tomaso (@Dr. Joe Tomaso) 1648988888
The last time I checked, unless it's in self-defense, killing humans was still illegal... has that changed?
