Dr. Phil’s chilling warning about the dark side of the digital age: ‘They’re victimizing your child consciously’

It’s easy to get wrapped up in the chaos of day-to-day life and forget just how much has changed in recent years. But if we took a step back and considered what life was like just a couple of decades ago, we’d be mind blown at how different modern living looks today — especially as it relates to technology.

Back in 2024, Glenn Beck sat down for an extensive interview with Dr. Phil about the toxicity of our increasingly digital world. Given the expansion of artificial intelligence and social media algorithms in just the last year, their conversation is perhaps more relevant than ever.

“In 2002, the first text message hadn't been sent. ... We weren't at all digital,” says Dr. Phil.

However, in the subsequent years, “We started to get much more into the internet, and then [2008-2009], it was like a bunch of C130s flew over and dropped smartphones on everybody,” he says, “and that's when I saw as big a change in our society as has happened in my lifetime for sure — I think as big a change to mankind as has happened since the Industrial Revolution.”

Fast-forward to today, and the vast majority of people are “walking around with as much computing power in [their] hand as we had when we did the moonshot.”

This leap in technological progress has caused a lot of damage to the human soul. Glenn considers artificial intelligence’s projected growth over the next few years. “Man is not geared for that. I mean, we are animals and our instincts — everything — comes from millions of years of experience. We're not ready for this,” he says.

“And it’s showing,” Dr. Phil agrees, “because if you look particularly at our young people who immerse themselves in this technology, we're seeing the highest levels of anxiety, depression, loneliness, [and] suicidality ... since they started keeping records for that sort of thing.”

“Young people stopped living their lives and started watching people live their lives and comparing themselves to that, but the problem was they're comparing themselves to fictional lives [of influencers],” he explains, recalling times he’s had influencers on his show who have admitted that their lavish lives on social media are a far cry from reality.

These phony content creators are setting unrealistic expectations for the younger generations, who buy into the lie that life is fun and easy and then find themselves depressed when their life doesn’t measure up.

Compounding the issue is the tragic reality that most people walk around looking downward at their phones instead of up where real life is happening. When the iPhone first came out, Glenn immediately noticed this shift in behavior and warned that these smart devices were a dangerous “experiment on humankind.”

We now know from recent studies that he was right – smartphones are indeed rewiring the brain and harming the human psyche in ways we don’t fully understand yet.

Even more disturbing is the fact that those who are developing the algorithms that dictate the content we see should not be trusted. Dr. Phil points to a study conducted on a 13-year-old girl that proved that an algorithm is just a “money grab,” designed to get people “emotionally invested,” usually to their detriment.

“We've seen the information that the girls get anxious, they get depressed, their self-worth goes down. It hurts them to see [curated content],” he says, but “[social media companies] don't care ... so they continue to feed them upsetting content because they click more and get more ad exposure.”

“They're victimizing your child consciously,” he warns.

Dr. Phil accompanies Tom Homan on ICE roundup, while Selena Gomez sobs hysterically for her ‘people’

After just one week of Donald Trump in office, our streets are already safer. ICE is finally getting to do its job. As promised by the Trump campaign, hundreds of illegal immigrants, the majority of whom fall into the category of violent criminals, have been arrested and deported.

Just yesterday, ICE agents “arrested 25-year-old Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, a Tren de Aragua ringleader tied to a viral surveillance video from August that captured armed suspected gang members storming through an Aurora, Colorado, apartment complex.

Even though illegal immigrants with a history of criminal charges are the focus of the Trump administration and border czar Tom Homan, actress and singer Selena Gomez is reacting as if ICE is persecuting helpless families.

In a since-deleted social media video that went instantly viral, Gomez, in an attempt to identify with her “people,” recorded herself sobbing hysterically about mass deportations.

Sara Gonzales plays the clip.

“I just wanted to say that I am so sorry. All my people are getting attacked, the children,” she bawled.

“I don’t understand. I’m so sorry. I wish I could do something, but I can’t. I don’t know what to do. I’ll try everything, I promise,” Gomez barely managed to say through hysterical sobs.

Sara, as a fellow Latina, doesn’t sympathize with her “people” as Selena claims to.

“So listen, Selena, as a Gonzales, I feel qualified to speak on the matter as well,” she begins.

“Our country is going to be safer and cleaner and more secure with these people the f**k out of here, and I’m elated, I’m smiling. … I couldn’t imagine a more beautiful sight than these criminals getting chained and shackled and having to do the walk of shame, the perp walk, into the plane to go back where they came from,” Sara corrects. “I have never been so proud to be an American as I am in this freaking moment, Selena.”

“You're American. Americans are your people,” adds BlazeTV contributor and actor Matthew Marsden.

As for Gomez’s lamentation about “the children,” Sara says, “I saw planes full of military-aged males” being deported, not children.

Further, if Selena really cared about the children, then she would have posted a video a long time ago crying for the ones who were trafficked by illegal aliens.

Border czar Tom Homan responded to Gomez’s embarrassing video with the following: “We got a half a million children who were sex-trafficked into this country, separated from their families, put in the hands of criminal cartels to be smuggled into the country. This administration can't find over 300,000. Where's the tears for them?"

But Homan isn’t a foe to all celebrities. In fact, Dr. Phil just accompanied him on a recent roundup that left Sara laughing hysterically.

To see the footage of Gomez’s “3 out of 10” acting stunt and Dr. Phil’s ride-along with Tom Homan, watch the clip above.

Dr. Phil embeds with ICE on 'high-risk' immigration mission in Chicago, confronts illegal alien accused of child sex crime

Phil McGraw — better known as TV host Dr. Phil — has embedded with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials on a "high-risk" immigration mission in Chicago, Illinois.

After the Trump administration unshackled ICE, the immigration agency has gone on the offensive.

ICE made 956 arrests on Sunday, the highest number of arrests in a single day since President Donald Trump took office and declared the border crisis to be a national emergency. By comparison, ICE data shows that the average number of daily arrests of noncitizens with criminal convictions or pending charges in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30 was 310.7.

'We’re talking about murderers, child traffickers, child rapists.'

The Washington Post reported that the Trump administration wants a "quota" of 1,200 to 1,500 arrests per day.

ICE immigration raids were recently conducted in Chicago, Illinois; Denver, Colorado; Austin, Texas; San Jose, California; Los Angeles, California; San Antonio, Texas; Miami, Florida; Detroit, Michigan; Omaha, Nebraska; Phoenix, Arizona; Atlanta, Georgia; and New Jersey, according to NewsNation.

ICE released a statement about the Chicago raid: "U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, along with federal partners, including the FBI, ATF, DEA, CBP, and the U.S. Marshals Service, began conducting enhanced targeted operations today in Chicago to enforce U.S. immigration law and preserve public safety and national security by keeping potentially dangerous criminal aliens out of our communities."

McGraw stated that he was embedded with ICE in Chicago, with agents who were tracking down illegal aliens with criminal records.

“It's a pretty high-risk mission we’re going on," McGraw said. "This truly is a targeted ICE mission, because they’re not sweeping neighborhoods like people are trying to imply.”

McGraw continued, “We’re talking about murderers, child traffickers, child rapists. We’re talking about bad actors, both in the countries they’ve come from and since they’ve been here in the United States.”

McGraw saw firsthand the “targeted operations” to enforce immigration law in Chicago. During a raid on Sunday, ICE nabbed a Thai national convicted of child sex crimes.

Video shows the suspect admitting to not being a U.S. citizen. McGraw asked the suspect if he had “been charged with a sex crime involving children," to which the suspect replied, “Not really.”

A shocked McGraw reacted by asking, "Not really?"

The suspect demanded to speak to his lawyer.

McGraw also interviewed Tom Homan, Trump’s border czar.

Homan stated, "This is an example of sanctuary cities, right here. We’ve got an illegal alien convicted of sex crimes involving children, and he’s walking the streets of Chicago.”

Homan declared, “Again, the downfall, the problem with a sanctuary city is that people like this [are] walking the street rather than having law enforcement working with federal agents. This is what we’re dealing with."

Homan assured Americans that ICE is conducting "targeted operations" and not "sweeping" raids.

McGraw added, "I know that because I've been involved heading into this. They've identified 270 high-value targets, and what I mean by that is that these are known criminals and terrorists."

'Is Oprah p**sed at you?' Dr. Phil opens up to Glenn Beck about his conversations with Oprah

Renowned television therapist Dr. Phil McGraw told BlazeTV host Glenn Beck that he and Oprah Winfrey have completely different political views but have never clashed over them.

Dr. Phil's hit television show carrying his name was originally produced by Winfrey, who showed herself to be a staunch Democrat supporter since at least President Barack Obama.

On Election Day, Beck asked McGraw if Winfrey took issue with his recent appearance at a Donald Trump campaign rally.

"Is Oprah pissed at you?" Beck laughed.

"You mean [about] the fact that we see things politically differently?" McGraw quickly replied.

"She has the right to see things the way she sees them. I have the right to see things the way I see them. You know what? I think we are the perfect example of how we need to understand that people are not their beliefs."

"Amen," Beck agreed.

McGraw then explained that in all their years working together, he and Winfrey have never had a spat over politics or anything else.

"We get along great. We don't always talk about politics, but I have total respect for her. She and I haven't had a cross word in 30 years."

According to Variety, McGraw has not officially endorsed Trump, and an endorsement was not the reason he spoke at Trump's Madison Square Garden rally.

McGraw reportedly called his Trump rally speech an "act of rebellion" after requesting "25-plus times to speak to Kamala Harris" and getting nowhere.

Dr. Phil said he "never got so much as a yes, no, maybe."

Following his speech at Trump's rally, McGraw claimed, a Kamala Harris campaign staffer reached out to him about possibly speaking at an event in Washington, D.C.

He told them, "Absolutely, tell me when and where to be, and I will bring a transcript of the speech and give it at a Harris rally."

"Never heard another word once they found out I was serious," McGraw said.

As for Winfrey, her interview with Harris was seen as a disaster, with the vice president seemingly unable to answer even the most softball questions from the host and audience members.

Harris took an audience question about what steps she would take to secure the border if elected.

"It's a wonderful and important question," Harris replied. "I, you know my background was as a prosecutor, and I was also the elected attorney general for two terms of a border state. So this is not a theoretical issue for me. This is something I've actually worked on."

"I take very seriously the importance of having a secure border," Harris continued, "and ensuring the safety of the American people."

McGraw said he doesn't agree with everything Trump says and that he doesn't like celebrity endorsements for politicians.
