Elon to BBC reporter: ‘You just lied’

Elon Musk doesn’t hold back.

The Twitter CEO recently sat down with a reporter from the BBC to answer some questions, and the result was a viral clip and an embarrassed reporter.

When the BBC reporter pressed Elon on the “hateful speech” that’s supposedly increased under his leadership, Elon asked for examples.

“I mean, you know, just content that will solicit a reaction —something that may include something that is slightly racist or slightly sexist,” the reporter explained.

Elon asked a simple question: “So, you think if something is slightly sexist it should be banned?”

He continued, “I’m trying to understand what you mean by ‘hateful content,’ and I’m asking for specific examples.”

While the BBC reporter struggled to respond, Keith Malinak of "Pat Gray Unleashed" interrupted the exchange to provide some thoughts.

“Too many times,” he says, “you have journalists, as we’re going to call this guy, who sit down and don’t expect any kind of pushback, don’t expect to be questioned whatsoever. They just feel that whatever they say can go unchallenged. Elon Musk isn’t playing that game, and I love this.”

He goes on to play more of the clip.

The BBC journalist then tried to explain that he can’t think of any examples of “hateful content” because he doesn’t use the “For You” feed anymore.

Malinak points out that the journalist is “sitting there with his freaking phone.”

“He’s not taking this interview with one of the most influential persons in the world seriously.”

Elon continued digging into the reporter.

He questioned how the reporter can “see more hateful content,” but “can’t name a single example — not even one.”

He then said the reporter's charges were “false” and that he lied.

Malinak says, “He was just fact-checked in real time and had no answer, and it was absolutely beautiful.”
