Mika Brzezinski says she's 'done being polite' to Republicans about masks; Trump is 'killing tens of thousands'

MSNBC's "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski blasted Republicans and President Donald Trump on the topic of face masks, and became so enraged that she declared she is "done being polite."

A very aggrieved Brzezinski attacked Republicans about coronavirus measures, as it pertains to mask mandates, as her co-host husband Joe Scarborough cracked jokes and laughed at her hostile temperament towards "his friends."

During a discussion about Joe Biden's call for Americans to wear face masks for 100 days, Brzezinski remarked on how "quickly the numbers would change" with a mask mandate and compliance.

Brzezinski then addressed Scarborough's "friends" and "some of the Republicans," who have not pushed face masks as fervently and forcibly as Democrats.

She denounced Republican politicians "who've been standing by as stooges to President Trump, not stepping up for the American people and their safety and, quite frankly, stepping up against the president's stupidity and cruelty, not being a leader on this coronavirus."

"Honestly, honestly, how stupid can you be at this point?" an annoyed Brzezinski questioned rhetorically, as reported by Mediaite. "If you just actually read about it, learn about it, how stupid can you be to be so arrogant and to be so flip about this when we have numbers like this? How crazy are you?"

Brzezinski asked, "And I wonder if your friends and those Republicans will actually admit that actually doing basic things to mitigate this virus would have changed the course of this pandemic?"

Scarborough joked with his wife, "Should I ask them that way?"

"Yeah, ask them," Brzezinski snapped back, as Scarborough began giggling. "Because you know what the numbers will change. And at this point, I don't even … I'd be careful."

"Well, we've been asking that question for quite some time. Again, I think I'll be a little polite first and I'll pick up the phone…" Scarborough replied.

"I'm done with being polite," Brzezinski barked. "I actually would like people in this country to stay alive. unlike some of your friends and Republicans in the Senate and in the House."

Brzezinski then snarled, "And President Trump, whose presidency is killing people by the tens of thousands."

"We agree with all that, we just don't agree about how I approach my friends," Scarborough responded.

Brzezinski sarcastically replied, "Friends? Those are great friends." She then added, "This president wanted you arrested, Joe. And they still stood by him. I'm just saying could you require that he doesn't kill people?"

Man caught on video spitting at women hiking because they weren't wearing masks, tells them: 'I have COVID!'

The great mask debate rages on. The most recent ugly confrontation involving face coverings happened in Massachusetts where a man reportedly became so furious with hikers for not wearing face masks while hiking outdoors that he purposely spit at them.

Two young women were allegedly hiking in the Hudson Overlook on the Midstate Trail in Ashburnham on Nov. 15, according to the New York Post. A vexed man approached the hikers, who were not wearing face masks.

One of the women recorded the hostile encounter with the man, and video of the incident was posted on Twitter by WBZ-TV reporter Kristina Rex.

"'I have COVID,' this man in Ashburnham says as he spits in the direction of two women taking a hike Sunday afternoon," Rex wrote on Twitter. "Based on a verbal confrontation early in the video, he was upset the women were not wearing a mask while hiking. Now police are looking for him."

Footage shows the man walking toward the women and spitting at them, then he tells the women, "I have COVID, I've been tested positive." He starts to walk away, but then turns around and spits at the hikers a second time.

In the video, an older female is heard calling for the man, but he ignores her.

Police say that the man was angry at the women for not wearing face masks, WBZ reported.

"He explained to them that it was the 'law' and that they were selfish," police said. "He aggressively turned towards them and stated, 'I have Covid' and began spitting at the young females."

"That's not the right approach to deal with anything," Ashburnham Police Lt. Chris Conrad said. "It was hostile, it was inappropriate, it was threatening and it could even be assaultive."

Police said the man could face charges up to assault. The Ashburnham Police Department asked the public for help identifying the suspect on its Facebook page.

"Again we don't have all the details on everything yet we need to speak with her again," Conrad said. "We're hoping the suspect comes forward so we can determine is there another side to this that we don't know about, that we didn't see on the video."

Fauci says masks and social distancing still necessary even after COVID-19 vaccine; talks about Christmas gatherings

Dr. Anthony Fauci said that it will still be very necessary to wear face masks and to practice social distancing even after a coronavirus vaccine becomes available and a person has been vaccinated.

During a Sunday appearance on CNN's "State of the Union," Fauci told CNN anchor Jake Tapper, "I would recommend to people to not to abandon all public health measures just because you've been vaccinated. because even though, for the general population, it might be 90 to 95 percent effective, you don't necessarily know, for you, how effective it is."

"Obviously, with a 90-plus percent effective vaccine, you could feel much more confident," Fauci said.

"So, when I get vaccinated, which I hope to when it becomes my turn to get vaccinated, I'm not going to abandon completely public health measures," he said. "I could feel more relaxed, in essentially not having the stringency of it that we have right now, but I think abandoning it completely would not be a good idea."

Tapper asked the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases about the upcoming holidays. Tapper asked Dr. Fauci, "I know a lot of Americans are looking ahead, hoping to make plans for other holidays, such as Christmas. But when do you think Americans will next be able to safely gather together for family events like this?"

The member of the White House Coronavirus Task Force replied, "You know, it depends on a number of factors, Jake. For example, we have vaccines now. The first one that came out was highly effective. I anticipate that the second one likely will be comparable. You never can tell until you see the data, but would be comparable."

"But we have to get people to take the vaccine," he said. "So, if we get the overwhelming majority of people taking the vaccine, and you have, on the one hand, an effective vaccine, on the other hand, a high degree of uptake of the vaccine, we could start getting things back to relative normal as we get into the second and third quarter of the year, where people can start thinking about doing things that were too dangerous just months ago."

Tapper then asked, "So, not until the second or third quarter of 2021, though? Christmas is probably not going to be possible?"

Fauci responded, "Yes, I'm – well, I think that, if we get most of the country vaccinated in the second, third quarter of the year, and the vaccine continues to prove its efficacy, and people adhere to those fundamental measures, I think we can start approaching the degree – it's not going to be a light switch, Jake."

In October, Fauci warned about families meeting during the holidays.

"That is unfortunately a risk, when you have people coming from out of town, gathering together in an indoor setting," Fauci said. "It is unfortunate, because that's such a sacred part of American tradition — the family gathering around Thanksgiving. But that is a risk."

On Friday, Fauci gave an interview to "CBS This Morning," where he talked about gathering for Thanksgiving, and he said face masks need to be worn inside.

"Nothing is going to be perfect in this," he explained. "Obviously, it's kind of difficult to be eating and drinking at a dinner with a mask on…to the extent that you can, keep that mask on."

"People who say wear a mask indoors, they're really talking about when you get into a setting where you're really unsure what the status of people are," Fauci added.

On Thursday, Fauci claimed that the COVID-19 outbreak would not be a pandemic for "a lot longer."

"Certainly it's not going to be a pandemic for a lot longer because I believe the vaccines are going to turn that around," he said.

Commentary: Mask-wearing fanaticism sure looks a lot like a religion

A prominent Christian pastor tweeted the following this week: “Two seemingly contradictory currents mark our society 1. There is a denunciation of all claims of absolute truth 2. Yet there is also a fanaticism in which one position or group is absolutely right, nothing is ambiguous, and divergent views should be destroyed."

I feel ya, brother. But nothing contradictory is in fact going on at all. This is the logical destination of attempting to usurp the ultimate authority in all the universe. It is biblically defined double-mindedness perfected. "My truth" can't help but become "kneel before Zod."

As a consequence, the Beatitudes are indeed replaced with the Fanaticisms. They are ever-changing, non-eternal, entirely arbitrary power grabs that seek not to instill humility and healing but elevate lies to the level of ultimate justice.

One of the latest Fanaticisms is the wearing of masks. We are waaaaay past science on this one and firmly in the realm of voodoo now. However, it's a voodoo that only gets more obnoxiously mandatory the more it is proven to be a total fraud.

We've had an Ohio mask mandate in effect for at least 112 days. A Maryland mask mandate for at least 106 days. A New York mask mandate for at least 128 days. Yet all of their governors are currently threatening more shutdowns because of a new coronavirus "surge."

There is absolutely nowhere masks have been shown in real time to be effective at slowing Covid after months of trying. No state. No country. Nowhere. And the science published by the CDC itself even said that would be the case as a public health policy for respiratory infections before Covid came along. But now masks have been necromanced into relevance and false righteousness many times over. We've incredulously been told by the witch doctor atop the CDC they are better than a vaccine.

Well, they are a vaccine alright, but not really meant to kill the virus. They are meant to kill us. Our freedom. Our dignity. Our sense of reality itself. The more they don't actually work but we continue to agree to wear them, that becomes all the more clear. We are telling the universe that our fear is our greatest certainty and the flat earth is our greatest comfort.

No wonder a dementia patient may be on on the verge of becoming president. He is the mask personified. A twice-failed presidential candidate with a nearly 50-year-long track record in public “service" of never making a damn thing better, so why don't we try him again but only harder this time! What could possibly go wrong?

It is failure incarnate. It is failure sacramentalized. It is failure fundamentalized. The Fanaticisms are taking on all the markings of a religion because that is their dark destiny. The increasingly preposterous will become more and more enviable and inevitable as our governing idols.

That should sound to you like the reverse of the miracle of creation, where impossible grace steps into the void and compels all that is good. If God created everything 'ex nihilo,' then the terrible math of the Fanaticisms must use and abuse everything to anoint absolutely nothing at all. The abyss is the destination.

It is the most pathetic grift of all time. And it is working. So sayeth the mask.

VIDEO: Woman tased on flight during furious brawl over face masks

A viral video shows a police officer taser an airline passenger who engaged in a brawl because she allegedly refused to wear a face mask.

A wild donnybrook broke out during a Spirit Airlines flight from Newark, New Jersey, to the Luis Munoz Marin airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, at around 7 p.m. on Sunday. The video was originally posted online by Twitter user V. Torres Montalvo on Oct. 26, and retweeted by CBS News correspondent David Begnaud, who said the brawl was started after a woman refused to wear a mask after the plane touched down in Puerto Rico.

Begnaud reported that Puerto Rico police identified the passenger as Nyasy Veronique Payne, adding that she "provoked an incident by acting in what witnesses called an aggressive, hostile, & defiant behavior." Police claim that the woman hit 28-year-old Javier Lopez Cruz soon after the plane landed.

The man who recorded the video told Begnaud that the fight broke out because the woman refused to follow the mandatory mask rules instituted by Spirit Airlines.

According to a witness named "Alfredo," there was a "young man was moving about the plane, switching seats and not wearing a mask." Flights attendants instructed the young man to stop switching seats and to wear a face mask in accordance with the airline company's COVID-19 protocols.

Three women were reportedly traveling with the young man, and were also not wearing masks "most of the flight, & were moving around while the sets belt sign was on," according to the witness.

One of the passengers on the plane alleges that "three men began yelling homophobic and racial slurs at the three women." According to the eyewitness, one person hit one of the women, which reportedly caused her to start punching passengers.

Police stormed the plane and attempted to squelch the melee, but the woman continued to attack a passenger in the rows behind her. A man is seen grabbing the woman's head and pulling her hair, and she retaliates by attempting to hurdle over an airline crew member to assault the man. As the man and the woman attempt to exchange punches, another woman is seen slapping someone.

The airline crew and airport police were eventually able to separate the two warring parties, and the woman was arrested. Payne's bail was set at $150,000, according to the travel website One Mile At A Time.

Spirit Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News.

Commentary: The COVID mandates are about power, not science. It's time we all stop cowering.

First, remember that there have been violent mobs of people burning and pillaging American cities for months now, including the latest onslaught in Louisville, Kentucky.

Now also remember that large crowds of people have been gathering in the last week to lament the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Then ask yourself this: Under what absurd constellation of civic consciousness could it be deemed just with such a backdrop to arrest a man, merely for singing psalms outside in a town square with his fellow churchgoers?

Well, when the national religion is the mask, my country tis of thee, sweet land of tyranny. Signed, Moscow, Idaho.

That's where Gabe Rench was handcuffed and hauled to jail this week for protesting the city's mask mandate, which requires them to be worn in all public spaces — inside or out — where no social distancing is possible until January. Rench, who is running for county commissioner and also hosts a podcast called CrossPolitic, said he emailed the police chief earlier in the week to remind him that his duty was to the citizens — the vast majority of whom spoke out against the mask mandate at a recent city council meeting — and their liberties above all else.

But that same police chief was pleased to look on, though, days later while his deputies arrested Rench as he stood next to his mother and at least 100 others.

"They kept telling me 'I don't want to arrest you'," Rench said of the deputies. "I told them 'You don't have to.' I can't believe how they are blindly going along with this. They know how dumb this is but they care more about their job and their status and their security than doing what is right."

And just to put an exclamation point on the preposterous frivolousness of all this, the very same deputies who arrested Rench for not wearing a mask were seen by him after his two-hour stint in jail hanging out in the police station — with no concern for social distancing and not a mask worn in sight.

Example 666 that the mask isn't fundamentally about public health or science, but raw power and craven idolatry.

In the face of that, Rench sees a powerful Old Testament story of deliverance playing out. Sure, the feeble sheep are everywhere, but amidst that Gideon's army of 300 is forming. There is no place to hide now. There is no simple box-checking or lip service about what it means to be a Christian or an American.

"God is exposing our cowardice," Rench said. "As a nation and as individuals. But we can see the 300 now. We can see who will fight. We can see who is faithful. Our police chief needs to be shaken by them. Our city council is obtuse and stubborn and stuck and doesn't fear the people. But it should."

In the service of truth and righteousness. And therein lies the rub of all this. The pagan progressive hordes have no qualms about putting their ghastly stamp on the things of this world, whether it be science, education, entertainment, the law, and on and on and on while most of us simply bend the knee and beg to finally be left alone.

But you must know by now that you will never be left alone, not if singing psalms outside of your town square can get you thrown in jail while the anarchist next to you lights things on fire and is celebrated by the press and the NBA.

Not unless you find the Gideon inside of you. Not unless the levers of power come to fear you and your unapologetic pursuit of the good more than all else.

Here you must stand, like Gabe and the brethren refusing to cower. You can do no other.

VIDEO: Ohio mother arrested and tased for not wearing mask at son's middle school football game held outside

A woman was tased and arrested at a football game after she reportedly refused to wear a face mask. Unbelievable video shows a mother in the stands during her son's middle school football game getting into a physical altercation as a police officer struggles to arrest her in Logan, Ohio.

According to the Ohio Star, Alecia Kitts drove an hour and a half to watch her son's seventh-grade football game. While she was rooting for the visiting team from the Marietta City School District, she was reportedly approached by a police officer for not wearing a face mask. In the video, Kitts appears to be properly socially distancing from other families in the stands, which is outside.

The encounter gets physical as the police officer attempts to arrest the mother, and she resists. The woman repeatedly tells the officer to "get off of me!" She screams, "You're not arresting me for nothing, I ain't doing nothing wrong!"

After two minutes of struggle, the police officer is seen tasing the woman.

The people in the stands are taken aback that the woman is tased.

"Tasing this lady over not wearing a damn mask," a witness can be heard saying in the video.

Woman arrested for not wearing a mask.youtu.be

"Sources indicate that Kitts was charged with criminal trespass and released on her own recognizance," the Ohio Star reported.

Tiffany Kennedy, the woman who filmed the video, claimed that Kitts had not been warned about not wearing a mask prior to the cop approaching her. Kennedy alleged that Kitts has asthma and that's the reason why she was not wearing a mask. From the video, Kitts appears to have an American flag-themed mask in her back pocket of her shorts.

Kennedy pointed out the female officer who is seen running toward the Logan police officer and Kitts at the end of the video was not wearing a mask.

The Logan Police Department confirmed the encounter and told the Marietta Times that the incident is under investigation.

Logan athletic director Theresa Schultheiss told the Times that Kitts and her mother were the only two in a crowd of 300 fans who were "having issues" complying with the state's mask requirement.

"This rule has been in effect since we were told we could play," Schultheiss said. "Everyone that came through ticketing tonight was reminded, we had regular announcements over the PA reminding you that mouths and noses needed to be covered and we had signs at the bathrooms."

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) issued a mandatory face mask order on July 22.

All individuals in Ohio must wear facial coverings in public at all times when:

  • At an indoor location that is not a residence
  • Outdoors, but unable to maintain six-foot social distance from people who are not household members
  • Waiting for, riding, driving, or operating public transportation, such as a taxi, a car service, or a private car used for ride-sharing.

The order requires only those 10 years old or older to wear a mask. Additional exclusions include:

  • Those with a medical condition or a disability or those communicating with someone with a disability;
  • Those who are actively exercising or playing sports;
  • Those who are officiants at religious services;
  • Those who are actively involved in public safety; or
  • Those who are actively eating or drinking.

NFL threatens coaches who ignore mask rules on the sidelines

With week 1 of the NFL season nearly in the books (two Monday night games are yet to be played), the league is threatening coaches who fail to comply with newly installed COVID protocols.

What happened?

Before the 2020-21 NFL season began, the league issued COVID protocols requiring everyone with access to each team's bench area — except players — to wear face coverings at all times. Coaches and staff are allowed to don masks, face shields, or neck gaiters.

After some personnel were seen on television not wearing masks or wearing them improperly, including L.A. Rams head coach Sean McVay, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, and New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton, the league published a warning for all coaches and staff: Comply with the mask requirements or face discipline.

NFL vice president of football operations Troy Vincent sent a stern memo to every team Monday morning with a reminder that they are required to follow league edicts and state and local government regulations, NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero revealed.

Vincent began by praising teams for doing what they could to make the season possible, then quickly shifted to reprimand mode: "[W]e must remain vigilant and disciplined in following the processes and protocols put in place by not only the league, union and clubs, but also by state and local governments."

"The NFL-NFLPA Game Day Protocol, which reflects the advice of infectious disease experts, club medical staffs and local and state governmental regulations requires all individuals with bench area access (including coaches and members of the club medical staff) to wear face coverings at all times," Vincent continued.

Then came the threat — though he never made clear what the consequences would be.

"Failure to adhere to this requirement will result in accountability measures being imposed against offending individuals and/or clubs," he warned.

Speaking of face shields...

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid chose to wear a face shield for his team's season opener against the Houston Texans on Thursday. Though he did follow protocol during the game, his face covering was a popular point of discussion as the game wore on and his face shield continued to fog up.

Reporter asks press secretary why it's OK for the president to have thousands of people at his outdoor rallies. She explains: These are 'peaceful protests.'

In the wake of President Donald Trump holding another outdoor campaign rally where many attendees did not wear face masks, the media wanted to know why the White House believes such rallies are OK when states have said they are not allowed.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany used the left's own "peaceful protests" canard to clearly explain that the president was not doing anything his political opponents were not already doing.

What did she say?

President Trump has been holding — and has scheduled several more — outdoor campaign events with thousands of attendees. On multiple occasions, large portions of the audience have been seen not social distancing and often not wearing masks. This, of course, has been a source of ire and criticism from members of the media who are positioning themselves as people who are very concerned that the campaign is allowing such seemingly reckless behavior.

For example, after Trump's Aug. 27 RNC speech at the White House, CNN repeatedly characterized the convention session as a "possible super-spreader event."

And following President Trump's campaign rally in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Tuesday, the media were aghast that the president would hold an event with so many people who might be putting their health at risk in a state where public gatherings are supposed to be capped at 50 people.

During the White House press briefing Wednesday afternoon, a reporter demanded to know why the president insisted on holding outdoor rallies with thousands of attendees when governors have declared a ban on such gatherings.

"Why did the president have thousands of people, many not wearing masks, at a rally last night in a state that has limited outdoor gatherings to 50 people? Why is he going to Nevada this weekend to hold similar outdoor rallies?" the reporter asked, noting that the events are "in violation of his administration's own guidance and of the best advice and guidance of local officials who he has said should have final say in these matters"

McEnany was ready for the question and made it clear the president believes that if the rally sauce is good for the liberal "peaceful protest" goose then it is good for the GOP campaign gander.

"People have a First Amendment right, if they so choose, to show up and express their political opinion in the form of a peaceful protest, which is what the president held," she explained.

Then she called out the media's double standard when it comes to their treatment of BLM protests versus Trump rallies.

"There's a real double standard here, CNN had on a guest, apparently a doctor, Rob Davidson, who said, 'Now, true, there are social distancing issues' with regard to the protests we've seen around the country, 'however, this is a public health crisis — they are marching against systemic racism,'" McEnany revealed, citing an interview Davison gave Anderson Cooper on Aug. 28.

"So if you're allowed to march in aggregate in those protests, you are also allowed to show up at a political rally," she concluded. "You have a First Amendment right in this country."

Couple arrested and removed from NYC ferry in handcuffs for not wearing face masks: 'We're being targeted'

A Brooklyn couple was arrested and taken off a New York City ferry in handcuffs on Saturday after they refused to wear face masks.

A couple were planning on traveling from Manhattan to the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bay Ridge via a city ferry, according to Gothamist. The captain of the ferry instructed the husband and wife to put on face masks or disembark from the vessel. The couple refused to do either. Face masks have been mandatory on New York City ferries since April 17.

For approximately 45 minutes, the couple went back-and-forth with ferry employees about wearing a mask until two NYPD cops showed up. The couple asserted they were exempted from a state face mask mandate because they suffered from a medical condition. Police asked to see proof they had a medical condition, but they reportedly refused.

"He's shaming us," the maskless man reportedly said. "Because we can't wear a mask, we're being discriminated against."

"We're being targeted," the man reportedly told police.

"If we were f***ing black, I can guarantee you that guy would never come out and tell us put a mask on," she allegedly said, according to Gothamist reporter Jake Offenhartz, who documented the mask standoff and eventual arrest of the couple.

"Right, because Black Lives Matter," the husband allegedly added.

"This has been going on since March, and my husband is f***ing pissed off," the woman allegedly said. "Every time I have to commute to Manhattan, it's a f***ing process."

One frustrated ferry-rider screamed to the police officers, "Take them off the boat, we gotta go!"

After a brief moment of resisting, the man was handcuffed, and the passengers on the ferry erupted in applause. As the couple were removed from the ferry, the crowd of about 90 people could be heard yelling, "Thank you, NYPD!"

"Mostly everyone complies," an NYPD cop at the scene allegedly said. "And then you get a few knuckleheads who don't."

A New York Police Department spokesman said the couple got a summons for disorderly conduct.

An NYC Ferry spokesperson told the New York Post that the agency "is continuing to investigate the incident in question."

"The safety of our riders and crew is our number one priority," the representative said. "We sincerely thank the NYPD for their rapid response to last night's incident, and we greatly appreciate the professionalism of our crew along with the patience of our riders."

The woman reportedly said that she was considering suing NYC Ferry. The couple claim that they had already sued the Metropolitan Transportation Authority for being forced to wear face coverings on New York City public buses.
