Tom Homan signals seismic shift in Minneapolis operation

Border czar Tom Homan announced that he will be making significant changes to the federal presence in Minneapolis, citing major progress made on the ground.

Homan recapped the administration's efforts in Minneapolis, including locating 3,364 unaccompanied migrant children who were lost under former President Joe Biden's leadership. Homan also touted progress made with local and state officials, thanking both Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D).

'We have a lot of work to do across this country.'

In light of the progress made, Homan announced that Operation Metro Surge was ending and that he has begun withdrawing federal agents from Minneapolis.

"I have proposed, and President Trump has concurred, that this surge operation conclude," Homan said.

"A significant drawdown has already been under way this week and will continue through the next week," Homan added.

Homan clarified that the federal resources previously sent to Minneapolis will either return to their original post or be reassigned to continue their efforts in another city.

"We have a lot of work to do across this country to remove public safety risks who shouldn't even be in this country and to deliver on President Trump's promise for strong border security and mass deportation," Homan said.

"Law enforcement officers drawn down from this surge operation will either return to their duty station or be assigned elsewhere to achieve just that."

Homan also dispelled several inaccurate narratives about ICE's presence in Minneapolis.

"During this surge operation, ICE has not arrested anybody inside a hospital," Homan said. "We have not arrested anybody inside of an elementary school. We have not arrested anybody inside a church.”

“However, those locations are not off the table.”

'Repulsive': Critics blast Walz for invoking Anne Frank, comparing ICE enforcement to systematic genocide

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) has repeatedly turned to the 1930s in search of potential analogs for those people and actions today that he finds disagreeable.

Walz smeared, for example, Holocaust survivor Jerry Wartski and the tens of thousands of other Americans who attended a campaign event for President Donald Trump in October 2024, comparing them to the Nazis who rallied at the location in February 1939.

'Her story has nothing to do with the illegal immigration, fraud, and lawlessness plaguing Minnesota today.'

Walz claimed on May 17, 2025, that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement — which was active during his former running mate's tenure as vice president as well as during the Obama administration — was "Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo."

In the wake of 37-year-old Alex Pretti's fatal shooting by a federal immigration agent on Saturday, Walz once again went in search of a damning reference. This time, he likened Minnesota children whose streets are being cleared of violent criminal noncitizens to Jews in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands who were faced with systematized mass murder.

After further vilifying federal immigration agents and reiterating his demand that ICE leave the Gopher State, Walz said during a press conference on Sunday, "We have got children in Minnesota hiding in their houses, afraid to go outside. Many of us grew up reading that story of Anne Frank."

"Somebody's going to write that children's story about Minnesota," added Walz. "And there's one person who can end this now."

Anne Frank was a Jewish German girl whose family attempted to hide from Nazi forces in the secret annex of an Amsterdam residence. After two years of hiding, the family was captured after the Sicherheitspolizei raided the location in concert with Dutch police. Frank was taken to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945, where she and her sister died in 1945. Her father, Otto, survived Auschwitz, then later saw to the publication of Anne Frank's diary.

Critics have suggested Walz's comparison is indefensible.

Rabbi Yehuda Kaploun, the U.S. State Department's special envoy to monitor and combat anti-Semitism, tweeted, "Ignorance like this cheapens the horror of the Holocaust. Anne Frank was in Amsterdam legally and abided by Dutch law. She was hauled off to a death camp because of her race and religion. Her story has nothing to do with the illegal immigration, fraud, and lawlessness plaguing Minnesota today."

"Our brave law enforcement should be commended, not tarred with this historically illiterate and antisemitic comparison," added the rabbi.

Republican Rep. Randy Fine (Fla.) said that "comparing the removal of illegal immigrants to the Holocaust is antisemitic and repulsive."

Shabbos Kestenbaum, a Jewish American activist and political commentator at PragerU, wrote, "One million Jewish children were killed during the Holocaust. Illegal immigrants are offered thousands of dollars to take a free flight home. Tim Walz is an evil retard."

The White House's rapid response account said that Walz is a "truly disturbed, unstable individual."

VIDEO: Federal agents clash with mob of Antifa-fueled, anti-ICE protesters in Portland

A large protest against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Portland has been heating up Saturday, and the escalation in resistance is aimed at pushing back against the possibility of President Donald Trump sending National Guard troops there to quell left-wing violence and unrest that's been ongoing on at the city's ICE facility.

A social media post claims Trump's stated aim to protect the facility and law enforcement is "nothing more than fear mongering and an intimidation tactic meant to stop Portland from resisting ICE and all of Trump’s repressive policies. Portland will not stand down, and we will not be quiet. We must follow in the footsteps of Chicago and firmly reject federal troops, and stop them from coming here in the first place."

'I hope your children f**king hate you!'

Blaze Media's National Correspondent Julio Rosas has been on the ground Saturday — right in the middle of the protest outside the Portland's besieged ICE facility — and he recorded exclusive video.

Rosas reported that federal agents deployed tear gas to repel the anti-ICE crowd blocking the ICE facility’s driveway. Check out his clip below:

Rosas added that agents also hit the Antifa mob with "pepper balls" and the leftists threw "tear gas canisters back" at the agents — who finally had enough and "rushed into the crowd to make arrests."

Some members of the potty-mouthed militant crowd could be heard frequently dropping F-bombs upon the agents.

As the agents advanced and cleared away many anti-ICE protesters, one individual — apparently on a bullhorn and attempting to frustrate law enforcement — could be heard sarcastically hollering, "Okay, congratulations! You've conquered an intersection! Good for you!"

In another one of Rosas' videos, he reported that agents at the ICE facility made an arrest after forcing the Antifa-fueled crowd blocking a driveway to retreat; indeed numerous agents are seen piling on top of the arrested militant:

In another one of Rosas' videos, he reported that arrests continued as the crowd kept trying to heckle and badger a line of agents.

One of the leftists — apparently a female with an unquestionably powerful voice — can be heard screaming over and over for the arresting agents to "get off of her!"

A screaming leftist also added to the agents that "I hope your children f**king hate you!" Another asked them, "You go home to your wife, and you brag about this s**t?"

On Thursday night, journalist Nick Sortor was on the ground in Portland documenting Antifa militants harassing federal agents at the ICE facility — and Sotor said the far-left crowd attacked him, and Portland police even arrested him.

In response, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Friday that the "Antifa-affiliated" militants in Portland as well in Chicago would feel the presence of "the Department of War" in the "next 24 hours." Noem noted there would be "backup from our military ... so what we saw happen to that journalist will not happen again."

Indeed, there is reportedly "chaos" in Chicago on Saturday as well. DHS said Saturday morning that "Border Patrol agents were conducting a routine patrol, near the intersection of 39th Place and S. Kedzie Avenue, when they were attacked and rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars. The officers exited their trapped vehicle, when a suspect tried to run them over, forcing the officers to fire defensively. This is an evolving situation. FBI is on the scene."

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon also announced that a full investigation into the Sortor's arrest is underway.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said at a media briefing Friday that "President Trump will end the radical left's reign of terror in Portland once and for all. The president has directed Secretary [of War Pete] Hegseth to provide all necessary troops to protect war-ravaged Portland and any ICE facilities under siege from attack by Antifa and other left-wing domestic terrorists."

It’s Time To Disarm All FBI Agents And Return Authority To Local Law Enforcement

If the FBI won't submit to the legislative branch’s oversight, Congress can take away its guns and its jurisdiction.

Why is the government arming more federal bureaucrats than US Marines?

The idea that agencies are empowered to effectively create their own laws and go out and enforce them with armed federal agents should be alarming.
