Video: Parents, students involved in several fights at high school graduation in New Jersey, one person hospitalized

Several fights broke out at a high school graduation in New Jersey on Thursday evening. The brawls sent one person to the hospital.

There were multiple fights near the end of the graduation ceremony at Westwood Regional High School in Bergen County.

Video uploaded to the X social media platform shows several fights on the football field before school officials and police officers were able to quash the physical altercations. There were police officers from at least 12 different nearby towns to stop the mass fighting.

According to NJ.com, students and parents were involved in the brawl.

One person needed to be hospitalized from the melee, and several others suffered minor injuries but declined to be treated, the Washington Township Police Department said.

"This was supposed to be an enjoyable night that the Westwood High School Senior class worked hard for and have been waiting for, which has been tainted due to the egregious behavior by some," Washington Township police said in a statement.

Police did not specify what caused the fights.

Westwood Regional High School Principal Frank Connell wrote on social media after the incident, "Congratulations to the Class of 2024! I am so proud of each and every one of you. It is an honor to serve as your principal and to be part of this amazing community. I refuse to allow anything to take away from that."

Jay Garcia – president of the Westwood Regional School District Board of Education – told WCBS-TV:

"We have much to celebrate in our towns of Westwood and Washington Township. Last night, we honored nearly two hundred students. These young adults, now graduates, have accomplished so much, and they deserve the focus and our attention. The faculty, coaches, administrators, parents, family, and friends who guided them along their journey also merit accolades and praise! The safety and well-being of all students and residents are top priorities, and the unfortunate incident following the culmination was deeply upsetting; I will not comment beyond that, as this is now in the hands of our local law enforcement. Our communities are beautiful, and I know the parents and residents to be loving, caring, kind, and positively engaged. Again, I want to congratulate this gifted Cardinal Class of 2024! I am excited to see what their futures hold!"

Westwood Regional High School enrolls approximately 840 students.

A police investigation into the brawl at the Westwood Regional High School graduation has been launched. Police said that there could be pending charges against those responsible for the violence.

Anyone with videos or information about the brawl is urged to contact Detective Sgt. Severio Fasciano at the Washington Township Police Department.

Parents divided on who's at fault in shocking fight between high school teacher and student caught on video

Parents are divided on who is at fault in a shocking fight between a Tennessee high school teacher and a student that was caught on video and has since gone viral.

The physical confrontation happened on Tuesday afternoon inside the cafeteria at Trezevant High School in Memphis.

Video shows the teacher and the student getting in each other's faces. The teacher, dressed in a purple shirt, is seen shoving the student, wearing a white shirt, on four different occasions. After the teacher pushed the student the fourth time, the student squares up with fists and escalates the situation. The student then unleashes a flurry of punches at the teacher.

The teacher initially attempts to wrap up the student with his arms, but then retaliates with punches.

The fight is broken up by a police officer.

The 16-year-old student involved in the fight said he was reacting to the teacher pushing him.

"He was constantly pushing me, and I was telling him all of that force wasn’t needed, and I was still walking, and he was constantly pushing me," the student told WHBQ. "He pushed me again, and that’s when I got angry and fought back."

Lakita Craft, the mother of the student who fought with the teacher, said the school staff should have done a better job of deescalating the situation.

Other students then joined the fight.

Shelby County Commissioner Charlie Caswell Jr. said as many as 50 people were involved in the brouhaha.

Another student who witnessed the fight said he believed that the teacher was in the wrong.

The anonymous student told WREG-TV, "He pushed him, and he wasn’t supposed to get that aggressive with the student."

He added, "Teachers can’t touch students."

The anonymous student said he participated in the fight and has since been suspended from Trezevant High School for his actions.

A parent agreed that the teacher was at fault in the physical altercation.

LaDarrel Young told the outlet, "Everyone has to be held accountable. If the teacher puts hands on him first then of course the student is going to react. Ain’t no student going to let anybody put their hand on them, whether it’s an adult or another child."

However, another parent said the teacher did nothing wrong and was understandably defending himself from an aggressor.

The unnamed parent said, "The teacher should not be penalized for that. You actually have to hold the people accountable who started the fight – that was the child."

Memphis-Shelby County Schools said in a statement that several students were detained in the melee. The school district noted that they have launched an investigation into the ugly incident and that appropriate disciplinary actions will be administered.

Teen girl in critical condition after horrific video shows high school student repeatedly bashing her head into concrete

A teen girl in Missouri is in critical condition after having her head repeatedly bashed into the concrete during a fight, according to horrific video and authorities.

The brutal fight video was widely shared on social media this weekend because of it being so extremely appalling.

KTVI reported, "One person is hospitalized with critical injuries after a fight Friday near Hazelwood East High School."

The outlet did not name the victim or the perpetrator of the violent crime.

Video of the confrontation shows two high school girls square off to fight in the middle of a street.

Within seconds, one student throws down the other teen girl to the pavement. She then unleashes a flurry of punches to the girl's face. When another female student attempts to intervene, she is attacked by other teenage girls.

After being punched at least a dozen times in the face, the more aggressive student then grabs the teen girl by the hair and repeatedly and viciously slams her head onto the concrete, according to the video.

The victim had her head violently bashed into the pavement at least four times.

The teenage girl is seen on video lying unconscious on the pavement and begins to go into convulsions after the monstrous attack.

The Missouri news outlet noted that there were no arrests in the horrific assault as of Saturday.

The St. Louis County Police Department is reportedly investigating the chilling beatdown.

A police department spokesperson told KMOV that there will be an update regarding the shocking attack on Monday.

The Hazelwood School District released a statement about the abominable fight video.

"It is a tragedy anytime children are hurt," the statement said. "Bullying and fighting in the community is an issue for which we all need to take ownership and work towards a resolution for the sake of our children. The Hazelwood School District offers our sincerest condolences to everyone involved and will offer additional emotional support from our support and crisis team to those in need."

"We look forward to continuing to partner with our community for the sake of our children. Please be kind and respectful of the families involved during this difficult time and pledge to help work toward the betterment of our entire community," the district added.

Watch: Shocking, bleacher-clearing brawl between parents erupts in the middle of high school wrestling match

Video shows a crazy scene unfolding during a high school wrestling match in New Jersey during which parents engaged in a wild brawl as student-athletes were competing.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, wrestlers were competing in a wrestling championship meet at Phillipsburg High School.

Tempers flared during the meet between Phillipsburg’s youth team against High Point's team for the youth championship when an argument amongst parents erupted. Viral video shows that while high school wrestlers were competing, parents in the bleachers engaged in a brouhaha.

NJ.com reported, "According to the videos, the fight starts between two men, with shouting and a shove. Then, the bleachers clear and people start pulling, pushing, and shoving each other. One person can be seen getting kicked in the head."

Video shows other parents getting involved in the physical confrontation by shoving and attempting to quell the fisticuffs.

An anonymous parent told Lehigh Valley Live that at least one child was "struck during the fight."

Police escorted the parents of the wrestlers out of the gymnasium following the melee.

It is not clear whether any individuals were injured or charged in the fight.

The brawl reportedly caused the league to cancel the rest of the matches.

The league has participants who are middle schoolers from grades 5 through 8.

The New Jersey Grade School league's individual wrestling championships are scheduled to happen on Sunday at Hunterdon Central High School, and officials are not certain how the interruption would affect the championships.

The Warren County Prosecutor James Pfeiffer said his office was "not too involved" in the incident.

Lopatcong Township Police Chief Jason Garcia didn’t return messages to Lehigh Valley Live on whether his office is investigating the fight.

Phillipsburg's youth wrestling coach also did not respond to a request for comment on the violent situation.

Video: Man pummels suspected child sex predator at Las Vegas courthouse

A suspect charged with sexually assaulting a minor was thrashed by a man and the violent ambush was all caught on video.

Yousuf Azami – a 59-year-old actor who was born in Afghanistan – was recently charged with kidnapping, lewdness, and sex assault charges.

On Tuesday, Azami made an appearance at Las Vegas Justice Court for a preliminary hearing on the charges.

"For some reason, Azami walked out of the Las Vegas Justice Court courtroom before the hearing," according to KLAS-TV.

Security camera footage shows a man sitting on a bench outside the courtroom. He noticed Azami exit the courtroom and he followed him down the hallway of the courthouse.

After appearing to briefly exchange words, the man then unleashed a powerful right hook that caused Azami to plummet to the floor. While Azami was on the ground, the attacker repeatedly punched the suspected child sex predator.

Video shows bystanders and law enforcement officers immediately rushing to stop the physical attack.

The assailant has been identified as Glenn Cromwell Jr.

Cromwell was taken into custody and charged with battery.

He was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in court on March 19.

KLAS-TV reported that Cromwell is "connected" to the alleged teen victim. The Mirror claimed that vigilante is the father of the victim.

Azami is accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl said to be age 14 or 15 at the time of the alleged sex crime.

The alleged victim told police that she was walking around looking to "get something to smoke and eat" on Sept. 3, 2023. She claimed to have encountered Azami at a marijuana dispensary parking lot.

Azami allegedly drove the young girl to his apartment.

“Azami was on the couch for a while on his phone and then came to lay with her on the bed,” according to police. “[The teenager] had just started to fall asleep when Azami lay behind her. She stated she felt his pelvis ‘grinding’ against her and he was not wearing any clothes.”

The alleged victim said that she told Azami to stop his sexual advances. Charging documents say the teenager then took a shower, put on clothing belonging to Azami, and ran out of the apartment.

The minor was reportedly near the Mirage Hotel, where "she met a man who was picking up his wife” and informed him that “she had been kidnapped and raped and needed police."

Police officers responded to the Mirage Hotel for a report of child sex abuse.

Azami denied having any sexual contact with the teenager, according to police. He alleged not to know the teenager was underage.

Azami is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 20. He had been released from jail on $5,000 bail.

The court brouhaha took place in the same Las Vegas courthouse where a felon tackled and attacked Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus earlier this month. That disturbing attack was also captured on security camera video.

Video: Black Hebrew Israelites and Palestinian supporters clash during pro-Gaza march in Chicago

Thousands gathered for a pro-Palestine protest in Chicago on Saturday. However, a bizarre brouhaha erupted between Black Hebrew Israelites and Palestinian supporters.

An estimated crowd of 5,000 pro-Palestine demonstrators marched in Chicago's Loop on Saturday afternoon demanding a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war and that Palestine be freed.

The march supporting Gaza was reportedly organized by the Chicago Coalition for Justice in Palestine – a self-described organization to "mobilize those who seek justice in protest of Israel's violence against an innocent civilian population."

During the march, a group of Black Hebrew Israelites and pro-Palestinian protesters physically clashed with each other.

Tyler Pasciak LaRiviere – a visual journalist with the Chicago Sun-Times – said of the chaotic scene, "Well all hell broke loose between some of the Palestinian protesters and the Black Israelites. Police and organizers did their best to calm things down to varying degrees of success."

LaRiviere said the two groups hurled sticks and bottles at each other. He added that one Black Hebrew Israelite was injured and taken away in an ambulance.

During the confrontation, someone launched fireworks.

— (@)

Investigative journalist Angela Van Der Pluym posted the video on the X social media platform with the caption: "Black Israelites / Hebrews fight Pro-Hamas protesters in Chicago. FYI Black Hebrew Israelites believe they are the real Jews, and Jews like me are fake Khazarians. Did not have this on my 2023 bingo card."

— (@)

More than 7,000 pro-Palestine supporters demonstrated in New York City this weekend. The protesters shut down the Brooklyn Bridge and Grand Central Terminal.

There were also Raiders fans at the In-N-Out in the 3000 block of Mission College Boulevard.

The Santa Clara Police Department said in a statement on Facebook that a massive brawl erupted between the two NFL fanbases around 11:12 p.m. Video shows fists flying at the burger joint.

Video: Massachusetts sergeant arrested for alleged assault on 72-year-old neighbor over paddleboard fight

A Massachusetts police officer was arrested and placed on paid administrative leave by his department after an alleged assault on his 72-year-old neighbor over a paddleboard fight.

Sgt. Scott Saunders of the Hull Police Department was arrested on July 24 in Pembroke, Massachusetts. Saunders was charged with assault and battery on a person over 60. Saunders was placed on paid administrative leave by the Hull Police Department.

Harry Horsley, Saunders' neighbor of 36 years, claimed the off-duty police officer struck his car with a paddleboard. That's when the brouhaha allegedly started after a neighbor.

Horsley told Boston 25, "'Why did you hit my car?' That’s all I said. He bull-rushed me down to the ground, landed on top of me, I’m on my back. He pounded away. I’m like this trying to protect myself from getting hit worse."

Video shows the confrontation mid-fight with Saunders on top of his 72-year-old neighbor. The men separate from each other, and trade shoves with each other. Horsley was seen bloodied and bruised after the physical altercation, including a large cut under his eye.

Horsley told police that Saunders "sucker punched" him and threw him to the ground.

Horsley said, "Here I am, 72 years old, I shouldn’t be taking a punch from anybody, let alone a police sergeant. He should have known that everything he has done was wrong. You don’t assault somebody that’s a senior. You just don’t do it – it’s unheard of."

Saunders – an 18-year veteran of the Hull Police Department – told officers that Horsley did not provide him with enough space, which caused the confrontation.

"Saunders stated that Horsley then exited his vehicle and as he approached Horsley, Horsley raised his hand so he pushed Horsley to the ground and got on top of him and was holding Horsley down. Saunders stated that Horsley began to raise his hand again and Saunders punched Horsley once to the face,'" police wrote in the report, according to the Boston Globe.

Saunders added that he had previous disputes with his longtime neighbor.

WCVB-TV reported, "Saunders also provided home security video to the officers, who described it in the report."

Saunders was arrested after officers reviewed the home security, according to the police report.

Hull Police Chief John Dunn said the department seized Saunders' badge and service weapon. His license to carry was also suspended. Dunn said that an internal affairs probe is underway.

Saunders is scheduled to go to court in September.

Viral video shows the moment that a fight erupted at the baggage claim area in Chicago's O'Hare Airport around 11:05 p.m. on Monday. The fight featured a flurry of flying fists between recent flyers.

Cell phone camera footage appears to show a man dressed in all-white being one of the main aggressors. The individual slammed a man down on the conveyor belt and kicked him in the face. He then approached a woman from behind, threw her onto the ground, and punched the defenseless woman.

Several female fighters were seen pulling hair and tackling each other.

One woman can be heard screaming, "Security! Security!"

People attempted to break up the brouhaha, but the scrum continued.

A 24-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries, according to authorities.

Two adults were arrested and hit with misdemeanor charges.

WMAQ-TV reported, "Police said an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both from the suburbs, were both charged with one misdemeanor count of battery, and were placed into custody following the incident."

Chicago police arrested Christopher Hampton, 18, of Maywood, Illinois, and Tembra Hicks, 20, of Carol Stream, Illinois.

Disturbing video shows mob of vicious teens beat up off-duty New York City firefighter who was walking his dog

An alarming video shows a mob of teens savagely attack an off-duty New York City firefighter while he was walking his dog in a park in Queens.

A 44-year-old off-duty New York City firefighter was walking his 3-year-old Labradoodle named "Dylan" at Juniper Valley Park in Middle Village around 9:55 on Friday, according to the New York Post. The man, who wished to remain nameless, reportedly asked a group of "at least 100" teens to stop launching illegal fireworks at the park and to stop jumping the fence of a daycare center across from the park.

"One kid took his shirt off and said, 'It's Fight Night!' He said he was 19 and said, 'I could fight you.' Everyone took their cell phones out. There were cell phones everywhere," the man told the Post. "They all came at me…A kid came up behind me and hit me in the back of the head with a bottle and I let go of the dog."

The group of violent youngsters surrounded the man and attacked him as a pack. The man was forced to release the dog leash to defend himself, leaving the Labradoodle on edge.

"They didn't care at all. The kids were going crazy. They were as high as a kite," the victim said. "I got hit, turned around, that's when the kids started coming at me."

Once the young thugs knocked the man to the ground, more vicious teens ran up to punch and kick the defenseless man.

One teen repeatedly screams in the video, "Give him a shot! Give him a shot! Give him a shot!"

The anonymous man added, "Then I was on the floor, holding one kid and an ambulance pulled up. They were waiting by the park … If they weren't there I would have been in much worse condition."

The man, who is a father of three, declined to be taken to the hospital and said, "I'm a little lumped up. What are you going to do? Thank God I'm still here. It could have been worse."

NYPD confirmed the brutal attack at the park, and said the victim was struck in the head with a glass bottle. Police said no arrests had been made in connection with the assault.

A concerned citizen rescued the dog from the mob of kids.

The victim said the situation has gotten progressively worse at the park. He noted that kids had their bicycles stolen, an older man was beaten up, and he found three knives.
