Video: Parents, students involved in several fights at high school graduation in New Jersey, one person hospitalized

Several fights broke out at a high school graduation in New Jersey on Thursday evening. The brawls sent one person to the hospital.

There were multiple fights near the end of the graduation ceremony at Westwood Regional High School in Bergen County.

Video uploaded to the X social media platform shows several fights on the football field before school officials and police officers were able to quash the physical altercations. There were police officers from at least 12 different nearby towns to stop the mass fighting.

According to NJ.com, students and parents were involved in the brawl.

One person needed to be hospitalized from the melee, and several others suffered minor injuries but declined to be treated, the Washington Township Police Department said.

"This was supposed to be an enjoyable night that the Westwood High School Senior class worked hard for and have been waiting for, which has been tainted due to the egregious behavior by some," Washington Township police said in a statement.

Police did not specify what caused the fights.

Westwood Regional High School Principal Frank Connell wrote on social media after the incident, "Congratulations to the Class of 2024! I am so proud of each and every one of you. It is an honor to serve as your principal and to be part of this amazing community. I refuse to allow anything to take away from that."

Jay Garcia – president of the Westwood Regional School District Board of Education – told WCBS-TV:

"We have much to celebrate in our towns of Westwood and Washington Township. Last night, we honored nearly two hundred students. These young adults, now graduates, have accomplished so much, and they deserve the focus and our attention. The faculty, coaches, administrators, parents, family, and friends who guided them along their journey also merit accolades and praise! The safety and well-being of all students and residents are top priorities, and the unfortunate incident following the culmination was deeply upsetting; I will not comment beyond that, as this is now in the hands of our local law enforcement. Our communities are beautiful, and I know the parents and residents to be loving, caring, kind, and positively engaged. Again, I want to congratulate this gifted Cardinal Class of 2024! I am excited to see what their futures hold!"

Westwood Regional High School enrolls approximately 840 students.

A police investigation into the brawl at the Westwood Regional High School graduation has been launched. Police said that there could be pending charges against those responsible for the violence.

Anyone with videos or information about the brawl is urged to contact Detective Sgt. Severio Fasciano at the Washington Township Police Department.

Long Beach outlets forced to close early after flash mob of 200 juveniles gather at mall, brawl erupts, teen is shot

A California outlet mall was forced to close early on Saturday after a planned gathering of roughly 200 juveniles at the Pike Outlets in Long Beach resulted in a brawl and later a teen was shot.

Around 5:40 p.m. on Saturday, police officers observed a fight break out at the Pike Outlets in Long Beach.

The Long Beach Police Department had already deployed numerous officers to the outside mall in anticipation of a flash mob of minors that was allegedly organized on social media.

The Long Beach Police Department deployed additional officers to the area "to promote safety for all visitors and deter unlawful activity."

The fight between a female adult and female juvenile was reportedly pre-planned and promoted on social media, according to police.

Video shows the brawl erupts with a huge crowd of juveniles surrounding them, a significant number of the onlookers had their cell phones out to record the fight.

Law enforcement quickly intervened and arrested both of the fight participants

The Long Beach Police Department stated, "Businesses in the Pike chose to close early out of an abundance of caution."

The Pike Outlets closed around 6:00 p.m., and everyone, including shoppers, was asked to clear the area.

The police threatened to arrest anyone who remained on the mall property for trespassing after 10 minutes.

Nearly an hour after the fight, officers responded to reports of a shooting near the popular shopping center.

A teenage boy had suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body. He was rushed to a local hospital. He is said to be in stable condition.

Police did not say if the shooting had anything to do with the flash mob or the brawl.

The police said they will increase patrols near the outlet mall in an attempt to deter any more chaotic events.

Teen girl in critical condition after horrific video shows high school student repeatedly bashing her head into concrete

A teen girl in Missouri is in critical condition after having her head repeatedly bashed into the concrete during a fight, according to horrific video and authorities.

The brutal fight video was widely shared on social media this weekend because of it being so extremely appalling.

KTVI reported, "One person is hospitalized with critical injuries after a fight Friday near Hazelwood East High School."

The outlet did not name the victim or the perpetrator of the violent crime.

Within seconds, one student throws down the other teen girl to the pavement. She then unleashes a flurry of punches to the girl's face. When another female student attempts to intervene, she is attacked by other teenage girls.

After being punched at least a dozen times in the face, the more aggressive student then grabs the teen girl by the hair and repeatedly and viciously slams her head onto the concrete, according to the video.

The victim had her head violently bashed into the pavement at least four times.

The teenage girl is seen on video lying unconscious on the pavement and begins to go into convulsions after the monstrous attack.

The Missouri news outlet noted that there were no arrests in the horrific assault as of Saturday.

The St. Louis County Police Department is reportedly investigating the chilling beatdown.

Watch: Shocking, bleacher-clearing brawl between parents erupts in the middle of high school wrestling match

Video shows a crazy scene unfolding during a high school wrestling match in New Jersey during which parents engaged in a wild brawl as student-athletes were competing.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, wrestlers were competing in a wrestling championship meet at Phillipsburg High School.

Tempers flared during the meet between Phillipsburg’s youth team against High Point's team for the youth championship when an argument amongst parents erupted. Viral video shows that while high school wrestlers were competing, parents in the bleachers engaged in a brouhaha.

NJ.com reported, "According to the videos, the fight starts between two men, with shouting and a shove. Then, the bleachers clear and people start pulling, pushing, and shoving each other. One person can be seen getting kicked in the head."

Video shows other parents getting involved in the physical confrontation by shoving and attempting to quell the fisticuffs.

— (@)

An anonymous parent told Lehigh Valley Live that at least one child was "struck during the fight."

Police escorted the parents of the wrestlers out of the gymnasium following the melee.

It is not clear whether any individuals were injured or charged in the fight.

The brawl reportedly caused the league to cancel the rest of the matches.

The league has participants who are middle schoolers from grades 5 through 8.

The New Jersey Grade School league's individual wrestling championships are scheduled to happen on Sunday at Hunterdon Central High School, and officials are not certain how the interruption would affect the championships.

The Warren County Prosecutor James Pfeiffer said his office was "not too involved" in the incident.

Lopatcong Township Police Chief Jason Garcia didn’t return messages to Lehigh Valley Live on whether his office is investigating the fight.

Phillipsburg's youth wrestling coach also did not respond to a request for comment on the violent situation.

'Cowardly violence is pathetic': Father speaks out after teen son is brutally beaten to death in Las Vegas by 15 teenagers

A teenage boy lost his life after he was severely beaten by 15 people near a high school in Las Vegas, according to his father.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers responded to a battery call near Rancho High School on Nov. 1.

KVVU-TV reported that police found a student who was "battered and bleeding from the head." The teen was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition and later placed on life support. However, the teen died last Tuesday at University Medical Center, according to the boy's father.

Jonathan Lewis Sr. said his 17-year-old son – Jonathan Lewis Jr. – died after being thrashed by 15 people.

Video of the brutal attack emerged on social media last week, showing the teen being savagely pummeled as he tried to run away.

Lewis Sr. said he believes the deadly onslaught began after "Jonathan stood up for one of his smaller friends," according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

"A couple (of people) attacked him, and they weren’t able to hurt him enough, and they all attacked him at once," the dad stated.

Fox News reported that the Las Vegas Metro Police Department's homicide unit is investigating the case. However, no arrests have been made thus far.

According to KLAS-TV, "Lewis also said the family was told by investigators they plan to charge several students involved in that fight with murder."

The father said, "We’re all just trying to process this. The whole family is in shock."

The father told the outlet, "I think there’s just a failure of all of humanity to recognize that we need to be teaching our youth how to coexist."

The father told KVVU-TV that the fatal physical assault was a "horrific tragedy is reflective of the divisive, conflict-based, uncaring state that our society and humanity is currently facing with how we interact with our community."

"Empathy and love are great strength and cowardly violence is pathetic," the dad added. "A true warrior would never cowardly beat one person just because the two or three members of the group couldn’t beat the one warrior, a true warrior would let the others learn and grow."

The teen's father said his family denounces violence "as a means to sociological conflict." He said the family believes that people being caring, respectful, compassionate, and caring are the "great strength of community and emphasize that those are the values that the warriors of our family teach."

Lewis Sr. remembered his son as a "loving, giving, kind, fierce young man who loved community and caring for others."

The father said his son was an aspiring artist who was considering joining the military like his grandfather – who served in the U.S. Navy.

The father revealed, "I hope there’s a way that I can find forgiveness in their heart and find a way to be able to come to terms with what they’ve done. I just love my children with all my heart, and it’s just unimaginable that we could ever come to this point."

Video of catfight at Morgan Wallen concert goes viral, 'Romper Stomper' said she was defending her mom in porta-potty brawl

Viral video caught the moment that several women engaged in a vicious catfight in and around porta-potties at a Morgan Wallen concert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Multiple female country music fans were in line to use the porta-potties during Wednesday's Morgan Wallen concert.

A woman gets in the face of another female concertgoer and screams, "F*** you. You do not cut in front of me!"

The two women exchange shoves, and a woman violently pushes another woman into the open door of a portable toilet that a surprised woman was about to exit. The brouhaha escalates inside the porta-potty. A concerned onlooker gives her drink to a friend to hold and then attempts to break up the fight.

A fourth woman wearing a blue romper and white cowboy boots marches into the porta-potty and forcefully drags out a woman by pulling her hair while punching her in the head at the same time. Then the woman in the blue romper punches and kicks the woman who initially attempted to break up the fight. Then the peacemaker is thrown to the pavement by the woman who was originally involved in the brawl.

The women involved in the nasty catfight dispersed before police arrived, and no arrests were made.

A spokesperson for Pittsburgh’s Department of Public Safety told Billboard that there were "plenty of ejections for intoxication," but it was unknown if any of the combatants were kicked out of the PNC Park venue hosting the concert that was part of Wallen's "One Night at a Time" tour.

The video of the country music concert brawl quickly went viral. Footage of the porta-potty brawl was uploaded to social media by Barstool Sports on Thursday afternoon and had racked up nearly 13 million views by Saturday on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter.

The woman who went into a romper rampage during the fight was later identified as Dalanie DiSabato – who has been nicknamed as the "Romper Stomper."

"I didn’t really realize that I cut in front of this girl," DiSabato told the BFF podcast. "And I walked into the bathroom, and my mom was standing outside of the door, guarding the door, because this girl was pissed. Like, she was mad."

DiSabato said she walked out of the porta-potty and "saw two girls ganging up" on her mom, so she "just did what I think any daughter would have done, I beat the f*** out of them."

Extreme combat sport set to debut in the US offers hockey fights without the hockey

Fighting in the NHL has reportedly dropped to historic lows in recent years even though fighting has long been an official component of the game. Partly as a consequence of a shift in focus and culture, the goons of yesteryear appear to be afforded fewer opportunities to earn penalty minutes, while finesse players increasingly skate over the blue line without fear or broken smiles.

Americans keen on a guarantee of a hockey-style donnybrook but willing to forgo the game of hockey are now in luck. A new blood sport promising just that is scheduled to debut in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on July 15.

The Cowboy State Daily reported that after previous events in western Canada, "Ice Wars" is coming to the Outlaw Saloon, in part, because Ice Wars event president Charlie Nama promised Bryan Pedersen, founder of the Wyoming Combat Sports Commission, that "the first U.S. event would be in Cheyenne."

"I know he's hoping the city, the state, will be the home base for this growing sport," said Nama.

Wyoming and Florida are the only two states in the union to sanction the event.

— (@)

Ice Wars International is touted as the "most extreme combat sport ever invented and a fascinating new world where only those rough enough, tough enough, and skilled enough will come out on top."

All fights, waged with MMA gloves, consist of two one-minute rounds on the ice with a 30-second "ice breaker" in between. Knockouts or technical knockouts end the fights.

The rules prohibit head-butting, kicking, biting, hair-pulling, kneeing, tripping, and hand-holding. Additionally, helmets and gloves are required wearing for the duration of the fight.

A prototype for this burgeoning sport, namely the Battle of the Hockey Enforcers event held in British Columbia in 2005, staged its fights on a portion of an hockey rink. Ice Wars reportedly uses Nama's "Ice Box," a 900-square-foot mobile arena resembling the MMA octagon.

A.J. Galante, the founder of the sport, told Reuters last year ahead of an Ice Wars bout in Edmonton, Alberta, "I'm calling it prize fighting on ice because at the end of the day, there is no hockey being played. ... There are no sticks, there are no pucks, there are no nets. So yes, it's full hockey gear and it will predominantly be current hockey players. But it's prize fighting with a purse on the line."

So-called ice warrior Daniel Amesbury indicated enforcers from the American Hockey League and other leagues will likely enter future competitions hoping to do some damage at center ice, but are in for a learning curve.

"An average hockey fight is probably under 20 seconds," said Amesbury. "So one minute is a long fight. It's a lot of action. There's going to be a lot of punches being thrown and there's going to be a lot of blood. It's going to be fun, man."

Ice Wars indicated in a statement that the Cheyenne event "will feature a 9-man round robin style competition, with each round getting progressively more difficult, and with the lone survivor being crowned 'King of the Rink'! In addition, we will have a heavy weight grudge match and a complementary [sic] fight preview."

While Ice Wars may satisfy some hockey fans' blood lust, it's yet to be seen if it can recapture the magic of some of professional hockey's most iconic brawls.

NBC News has compiled a top ten of some notable ice battles:

Top 10 NHL fights of all time | NBC Sports youtu.be

Of course, Ice Wars' octagon would be unable to contain the "Punch-up in Piestany," where the whole of the Canadian junior team dropped the gloves and battled their Soviet counterparts in the final game of the 1987 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Czechoslovakia:

Former MMA fighter beats battery charges after court said he acted in self-defense during Florida bar fight caught on viral video

Joe "Stich 'Em Up" Schilling, a former MMA fighter, was cleared of battery charges stemming from a Florida bar fight in 2021. The court ruled that Schilling acted in self-defense in the bar fight caught on viral video.

Video of Schilling socking Justin Balboa at a Fort Lauderdale bar went viral in 2021.

Video shows Balboa standing in the walkway of the bar when Schilling attempts to walk around him. Schilling places his hands on Balboa to prevent him from swaying into him. Balboa seemingly says something to Schilling – which causes him to turn around. Balboa is seen on video making a move with his shoulders. Schilling immediately responded with a lightning-quick right-hand punch followed by a swing by his left hand.

Balboa instantly falls to the ground and is motionless.

Balboa said he suffered a head injury from the attack, and filed a battery charge against Schilling.

Schilling, 39, argued that Balboa "flexed" on him and he reacted in self-defense because he was "scared" for his life, according to Fox News.

Last June, Schilling filed for immunity under Florida's Stand Your Ground law.

This week, the court dismissed the battery charge against Schilling.

Broward County Circuit Court Judge Fabienne E. Fahnestock stated, "Schilling stepped outside to smoke. When he was returning to his table, Balboa, who was admittedly intoxicated at that point, stumbled into Schilling. The video … shows that Balboa apologized without looking at Schilling, and Schilling acknowledged the apology while continuing to walk back to his table. For some undetermined reason, Balboa calls out to Schilling."

"Schilling turns around and looks at Balboa in an unaggressive stance. Schilling’s feet were shoulder width apart and his hands were at his side," Fahnestock added. "Balboa makes a feinting gesture towards Schilling. Schilling, who testified that he learned to anticipate punches as part of his training, instantly responded with two quick punches. Balboa fell to the floor unconscious."

"The Court further finds that Schilling used only such force necessary to neutralize the threat, and is therefore entitled to immunity pursuant to §776.032, Florida Statute," Fahnestock continued.

"Defendant is entitled to an award of reasonable attorneys’ fees, court costs, compensation for loss of income, and all expenses incurred by defendant in defense of this action pursuant to §776.032(3), Fla. Stat," the judge concluded.

Schilling told the MMA Fighting website, "I'm glad it’s finally over. For the last two years, my name and character has been disparaged in the media. Seems like everyone loves the narrative that a professional fighter just beat up an innocent person, which was sooooo not the case."

"Most people told me to just settle it and pay off as that would be easier. I don’t like bully’s (sic) and I refuse to be bullied by anyone," the fighter said. "The ambulance-chasing bum of a lawyer he hired threatened to ruin me financially and well the only person he financially ruined was his client."

Schilling slammed the media for bias against him.

Schilling said, "I just hope that all of the news outlets that were so quick to post click bait articles assassinating my character have the same energy now that the truth is out. Justin Balboa will always be a f***ing loser."

Schilling’s attorney David Katz declared that Balboa now owes his client's legal fees.

"Balboa now stands liable for all of Schilling's costs and fees for defending this lawsuit, including the trips he had to make from California and the hiring of investigators and experts," Katz proclaimed.

Katz said, "Florida law protects those who are forced to protect themselves and their loved ones, and our law firm is here to make sure those who are forced to defend themselves do not suffer further in our legal system either by wrongful arrest or wrongful civil actions such as this case."

Balboa had sought damages of up to $30,000.

VIDEO: Brawls erupt at Wi Spa protests over trans issues; street preacher bleeds from his head after attacked by mob with Antifa flag

There were dueling demonstrations over trans rights in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon, which led to several confrontations, some of which were violent. The passionate protest and counter-protest were fueled by a viral video of a woman who was upset that there was a biological man who identified as a woman in the female-only area of a California spa.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that a protest and a counter-protest were planned for Saturday at the Wi Spa. The demonstrations featured protesters who supported the woman who was incensed that there was a biological male, who was naked in front of young girls, teens, and grown women at a spa. The woman who recorded the video was horrified that she was exposed to the man's penis and testicles at the upscale spa in Koreatown.

The woman in the video is heard complaining to employees of the spa, "So, it's OK for a man to go into the women's section, show his penis around the other women, young little girls – underage – in your spa? Wi Spa condones that, is that what you're saying?"

There were also demonstrators marching for trans rights, who argued that not allowing the man who identifies as a woman in the female area is discrimination.

The two groups clashed in several physical altercations.

A group dressed in all-black, including one person with an Antifascist Action flag, chased away a man wearing a shirt that reads: "Obey Jesus." One person in the mob told the man, "You gotta go bro, for your own f***ing safety, you gotta go bro."

While demonstrating, the man was sprayed in the face by one of the black bloc agitators. The mob attempted to steal a sign held by a group of street preachers, which ignited a brawl in the street. The man in the blue shirt was hit in the head with a skateboard as he was attacked by multiple black bloc members simultaneously. The street preacher had blood pouring from his head as he attempted to flee from his attackers. Another street preacher was stomped after being shoved to the ground.

Tensions flare during late-night House session where heated representatives nearly came to blows: report

Tensions flared on the floor of the House early Thursday morning while Congress was attempting to finish counting the Electoral College votes. Two livid representatives reportedly nearly came to blows during the heated scene.

As representatives debated objections to Pennsylvania's Electoral College results, some Democrats and Republicans became enraged at each other.

At around 2 a.m., Rep. Conor Lamb (D- Pa.) was speaking, and several Republicans objected to the Democratic representative's accusations about voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

"We know that that attack today, it didn't materialize out of nowhere, it was inspired by lies, the same lies that you're hearing in this room tonight," Lamb said of Wednesday's Capitol protest. "The members who are repeating those lies should be ashamed of themselves, their constituents should be ashamed of them."

Republican lawmakers fumed over the remarks, and resentful grumblings could be heard in the background. Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-Va.) demanded that Lamb's declarations be struck from the record, the Washington Post reported.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) reportedly shouted, "Sit down!"

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) then pounded the gavel, called for order, and allegedly told the interrupters, "Hold your tongue."

Lamb was interrupted again, and he raised his arms in frustration, turned to Republicans, and said, "The truth hurts!"

There was then a commotion in the back of the chamber, where emotions smoldered. The benches allegedly cleared and there were about a dozen people "getting close to each other and arguing," WNBC reported.

There were early reports that the near-scuffle was between Reps. Andy Harris (R-Md.) and Colin Allred (D-Texas). However, Allred's office issued a statement that said the congressman "was not involved in the initial confrontation and at no point did he near physical violence."

"After seeing a disagreement between members verge on physical confrontation, Congressman Allred approached his colleagues on both sides of the aisle with the hopes of defusing the situation and bringing down tensions," his office told the Dallas Morning News.

Harris reportedly nearly got into fisticuffs with Rep. Al Lawson (D-Fla.), but the near-tussle was broken up by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and a senior Democratic staffer, according to CNN's Kristin Wilson.

A Lawson aide told the USA Today Network that the lawmaker has "no plans" to comment on the incident, and did not deny participation in the situation.
