Peter Doocy bulldozes through Jean-Pierre spin after gas prices start to climb again

Fox News journalist Peter Doocy bulldozed through the Biden administration's narratives on gas prices during the media briefing with White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

President Joe Biden (D) had declared victory on lowering gas prices months ago but has grown quieter after a recent surge in pricing again.

"You said the president was responsible for gas prices coming down. Is the president responsible for gas prices going up?" Doocy asked on Tuesday.

"So, it's a lot more nuanced than that, right?" Jean-Pierre responded.

"Peter, you know this. There have been global challenges that we have all have dealt with, when I say 'all' I mean other countries, as well, have dealt with, since the pandemic, there's been pandemic and there's been [Russian Federation President Vladimir] Putin's war," she continued.

"And Putin's war has increased gas prices at the pump. We have seen that over the past several months," Jean-Pierre added. "And what the president has been able to do, he took some historic steps, when you think about the strategic petroleum reserve, and making sure that he, we were able to do everything that we can to bring that cost down for American families, give them a little bit more of a breathing room."

Doocy went on to point out that consumers in some areas of the country were paying up to $6.41 a gallon for gas.

"Who can afford that?" he asked.

"And we understand that!" Jean-Pierre responded. "That's why the president works so hard the past several months to make sure he did everything we can to bring gas prices down!"

Jean-Pierre went on to keep praising Biden for the "historic actions" he took to lower gas prices despite the recent increases.

The American Automobile Association calculated that the national average for a gallon of gas was $3.80. Prices hit a high of about $5.01 per gallon in June but have fallen for several months before reversing course.

Despite the drop, Americans are still paying about $1.50 more, or 60% more, than they did when Biden was inaugurated in January 2021.

Former Biden aide says high gas prices won't matter 'if an insurrection is successful and y’all living under martial law!'

A former top aide to President Joe Biden said gas prices won't matter if people are living under martial law after an "insurrection" is successful.

Symone Sanders made the comments on the "Hell & High Water" podcast with John Heilemann released on Tuesday.

Sanders was defending Republican Rep. Liz Chaney of Wyoming when she criticized progressives for saying that the televised Jan. 6 Committee hearing was not relevant because gas prices were so high.

"What she is doing matters, it matters for our Democracy," said Sanders.

"Those people at the capitol that day, they went home, that's the thing that really keeps me up at night. For people that said they didn't watch the first hearing, I got into a very spirited debate with some of my young people, and I'm like, 'Do ya'll not care?' And they're like, 'oh but gas!'" she continued.

"Mm-mm! The gas won’t matter if an insurrection is successful and y’all living under martial law," Sanders said.

"So I really think that uh, people have to, uh, I think everyone just needs to take a breather," she concluded, "and if you think January 6 doesn't matter, if you think this is something that just happened, you know, well over a year and a half ago at this point, and we just need to move on, you are sorely mistaken."

Sanders was also formerly a spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris before leaving that troubled office in order to helm her own MSNBC show. She faced mockery and ridicule after the ratings for her first show at the progressive news network were embarrassingly low.

Gas prices have skyrocketed to record levels alongside nearly every other consumer good which has led to Biden garnering damagingly low poll numbers ahead of a pivotal midterm election.

Energy industry pro annihilates clueless Buttigieg, Democrat policies causing gas price hike

Pete Buttigieg had a completely nonsensical solution this past week for Americans feeling the major sting from rising gas prices: just get an electric vehicle!

Pete Buttigieg wants people to simply buy an electric car so they don't have to worry about rising gas prices.pic.twitter.com/VBcIfRotvE
— TheBlaze (@TheBlaze) 1646672497

"So much is wrong with that statement, from start to finish,” said Jacki Daily, host of "The Jacki Daily Show."

“We need to use what we have right now, in place already, for the immediate crisis. Does he understand there’s a war going on that can quickly explode into something much bigger? Does he understand it?! We don’t have time for this," Daily continued.

Daily, whose career spans two decades of experience in the energy industry, politics, and law, joined Allie Beth Stuckey on "Relatable," to discuss the intricacies of the current situation with oil and gas production that are causing these record-high gas prices, and how Democrat 'green' policies are basically thinly veiled schemes to funnel more money to the wealthy.

"He clearly doesn't understand that electric vehicles are made from oil. Every piece of them are made from oil: the fiberglass, the paint, the battery, everything is made from oil,” Daily pointed out, becoming more impatient with Buttigieg’s cluelessness. “Moreover, I mean, the battery components themselves are made of rare earth elements, the supply chain of which is controlled by China. He’s giving more supply-chain control to China!”

Germany is also doubling down on building more solar and electric-powered vehicles at this time, claiming they control their solar energy, but it’s China that controls solar, and it’s China that controls the electric vehicles, Daily told Stuckey. To top it off, Germany sits atop a sea of natural gas, but because the green movement succeeded in stopping them from fracking, they’ve become totally dependent on Russia for natural gas, which is the same thing seen happening in America.

Despite what the Biden administration would have you believe, Daily explained that the blame for what's going on truly does rest with Biden and Democrats, not Russia. While Donald Trump directed his administration to invest in American energy as much as possible, Biden's administration is using ESG scores to dissuade anyone from investing in oil and gas, becoming a perfect example of how liberal politics negatively affects the everyday person.

Daily also warned against falling for what media and the government spew in their attempt to hype up the fear in Americans over issues, especially during a time of crisis.

“Nothing’s more dangerous than government,” Daily warned. “Government is very powerful. As Elon Musk said, ‘It’s the biggest corporation and has a monopoly on legal violence.’ How about we not hand over our money, and our sovereignty, and our rights, to a handful of people who obviously don’t know what they’re doing, and can’t be trusted.”

Never let a crisis go to waste: As Biden bans Russian oil, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg ignore skyrocketing gas prices — and push electric cars

President Joe Biden banned Russian oil and gas imports Tuesday — which he acknowledged will cause already skyrocketing prices at the pump to spike even more.

The Washington Examiner reported that the national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $4.17 — which represents an increase of 10 cents in just 24 hours and a full dollar jump in just one year.

But the historic gas price surge that's hurting every American didn't seem to dampen the enthusiasm of Vice President Kamala Harris and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who were all smiles Monday at an “Accelerating Clean Transportation” event.

What did Harris and Buttigieg have to say?

“Clean transportation can bring significant cost savings for the American people as well,” Buttigieg said. “Last month, we announced a $5 billion investment to build out a nationwide electric vehicle charging network so the people from rural to suburban to urban communities can all benefit from the gas savings of driving an EV.”

Not incidentally, the average cost of a new electric vehicle was $56,437 in November 2021, Kelley Blue Book said — an increase of 6.2% from November 2020.

Harris — offering her lilting vocal tone as if she was reading us a nursery rhyme — borrowed from John Lennon on the subject.

“Imagine a future: the freight trucks that deliver bread and milk to our grocery store shelves and the buses that take children to school and parents to work. Imagine all the heavy-duty vehicles that keep our supply lines strong and allow our economy to grow. Imagine that they produced zero emissions. Well, you all imagined it,” she said.

Harris added that "we have the ability to see what can be, unburdened by what has been, and then to make the possible actually happen."

The New York Post said neither Harris nor Buttigieg specifically mentioned skyrocketing gas prices during their addresses.

Any other dreamers out there?

Also on Monday, White House press secretary Jen Psaki seemed to signal all is well as she deftly parried questions about reviving the Keystone XL pipeline and increasing domestic oil production amid the rapid rise in costs burdening the American consumer.

For some reason Psaki said U.S. oil production in the past year was higher than in former President Donald Trump's first year in office — it isn't clear what that's supposed to prove. Secondly she said U.S. oil production next year will be the highest in history.

Doocy: "[G]as prices are approaching an all-time high...How high would they have to get before...Biden would say, 'I'm going set aside my ambitious climate goals &...increase domestic...production, get the producers to drill more...& we can address the fossil fuel future later?"pic.twitter.com/sW4pCP5fHA
— Curtis Houck (@Curtis Houck) 1646684533

“But if we are looking to the future and what we can do to prevent this from being a challenge in future crises, the best thing we can do is reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and foreign oil because that will help us have a reliable source of energy so that we’re not worrying about gas prices going up because of the whims of a foreign dictator,” Psaki added.

Laid-off pipeline worker goes after Biden for skyrocketing gas prices: ‘Everything that Biden’s touched or done — it’s a failure’

Lynn Allen, a laid-off pipeline worker, took President Joe Biden and his administration to task Tuesday morning, accusing the president and his allies of sabotaging America's energy independence.

Biden raised many eyebrows in the early days of his administration after he stopped federal oil and gas leases and canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline.

On the first day of Biden's presidency, he signed an executive order suspending work on the pipeline, ripping jobs away from more than 11,000 Americans.

What are the details?

During an interview on "Fox & Friends First," Allen said that the nation's gas prices and fuel charges are quickly skyrocketing out of control.

"I'm not surprised at all," he said of rising energy costs, "because everything Biden's touched or done — it's a failure. ... Ain't nothing but a total failure. We went from 'America First' to America last."

Allen then pivoted to former President Donald Trump and suggested that if the 45th president were in office, the country wouldn't be in dire straits with rising fuel costs.

“Trump had it going on," Allen insisted. “The thing about it is that we've got all these high prices of oil and gas, we've got drilling rigs stacked, we've got roustabout crews ready to go, we've got pipeline contractors with all of their equipment is stacked in the yards. And I can tell you right now, we can put America to work next week if we needed to."

During a Thursday town hall event, Biden said that he doesn't see any help on the horizon to quell the rising costs.

"I don't see anything that's going to happen in the meantime that's going to significantly reduce gas prices," he admitted. "A lot of Middle Eastern folks want to talk to me. I'm not sure I want to talk to them, but the point is, it's about gas production."

Laid Off Keystone Pipeline Worker Blasts Joe Biden On Gas Prices: “Nothing But A Total Failure"www.youtube.com

What else?

In March, Allen told Fox News that many pipeline workers have not been able to find jobs since the shutdown.

"You think about it every minute of the day," he said at the time, and blasted Biden's infrastructure plans.

"I'm a welder," he said. "That's what I've been doing. And him wanting to rebuild the middle class in cutting welding jobs and cutting oil and gas. The oil and gas is pretty much the heart of the middle class and the upper class. The oil and gas is what drives the United States and the world. And he cuts everything out from us."

President Biden admits he has no near-term solution for high gas prices: 'It's going to be hard'

President Joe Biden admitted that he has no near-term solution for the skyrocketing cost of gas during a nationally televised town hall event.

Biden was asked by CNN anchor Anderson Cooper when Americans might expect some relief at the gas pump.

"Do you have a timeline for gas prices of when you think they may start coming down?" asked Cooper.

"My guess is you'll start to see gas prices come down as we get by, and going into the winter, I mean excuse me, into next year in 2022," Biden responded.

"I don't see anything in the meantime that is going to significantly reduce gas prices," he admitted.

Biden also said that ultimately the answer is investing in renewable energy.

"But I must tell you," he added , "I don't have a near-term answer."

Earlier in the exchange he claimed that the pain at the pump was due to his administration's foreign policy initiatives and then blamed OPEC, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, for high prices.

"Gas prices relate to a foreign policy initiative that is about something that goes beyond the cost of gas. We're about $3.30 a gallon most places now, when it's up from, when it was down in the single digits, I mean, single digits, a dollar plus," Biden continued.

"And that's because of the supply being withheld by OPEC, and so there's a lot of negotiation that is," he said then paused for several seconds, "there's a lot of Middle Eastern folks that want to talk to me. I'm not sure I'm gonna talk to them but the point is, it's about gas production."

Biden's administration has been hit hard in the polls over the state of the economy, including high inflation. Many on the right are blaming his stance against fossil fuels for the drastic increase in energy prices.

Among those are Republican Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona who hammered Biden on Friday in a long thread on social media about his energy polices.

"Everything is based on Biden's irrational hatred of oil and gas," wrote Gosar, who cited numerous examples of Biden excoriating fossil fuel producers. "Our nation needs oil and gas. Biden lives in magic fairy land claiming otherwise."

Gosar concluded with his solution to the energy problem.

"Now we need to take real action. Americans should demand that Biden roll back restrictions, free American energy producers to produce the energy we need and stop begging other countries to lower our prices."

"We have the ability, technology and resources to be energy independent," Gosar concluded.
