CNN medical expert now says we can relax mandates — and her reasoning is MADDENING

According to CNN’s medical expert Dr. Leana Wen, we can all relax a bit when it comes to draconian COVID restrictions because, you know, "the science has changed."

CNN's Anderson Cooper shared a video clip on Twitter Monday night, in which Wen argued in favor of lifting some pandemic restrictions and shifting the decision to wear masks from government mandates to individual choice.

"Circumstances have changed. Case counts are declining. Also, the science has changed," Wen said.

Wait, what happened to "don't question the science"? Will Wen or CNN get fact-checked by the social media overlords? And isn't it interesting that, as Democrats quake in the path of oncoming midterm elections, the narrative has conveniently shifted — and all on the same day?

Check it out:

This is truly maddening. Isn't this what the "science deniers," "misinformation spreaders," and "fringe scientists" (ahem, Joe Rogan's podcast) have been smeared, discredited, and canceled for saying all along?

As always, Twitter can be counted on to weigh in:

Shameless.. That's 100% the problem with demanding unquestioned adherence to "The Science" as the ultimate arbiter of policymaking, only to turn around and say "oops, well, tHe ScIeNcE has changed"

The polling numbers have changed. The political landscape has changed.\n\nThat's why you're promoting a different propaganda message now. That's all.\n\nIf the science itself had changed, we'd see new peer-reviewed studies that indicate the change.

Daily Caller editor-in-chief unloads on the New York Times for misidentifying reporter as 'rioter'

The Daily Caller's editor-in-chief, Geoffrey Ingersoll, blasted the New York Times on Monday after the Sunday edition of the paper falsely identified a credentialed reporter with the outlet as a rioter and falsely accused him of participating in violent activity at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.

Over the weekend, the Times published an essay by Timothy Snyder, the Levin professor of history at Yale University, commenting on the Capitol Hill riots that took place last week and asserting that the "post-truth" Trump presidency is a precursor to fascism. Embedded in the article is a photograph of Richie McGinniss, a videographer with the Daily Caller.

McGinniss was reporting on the riots on location at the Capitol when the photograph was taken. He was photographed shirtless at a door to the Capitol that had previously been attacked by rioters with the mob. In the picture, he can be seen gesturing to Capitol Police, who are visible through shattered windows on the other side of the door.

In the photo caption, the Times originally identified McGinniss as a "rioter" and said that "he punched the door after being pepper-sprayed and forced out of the building."

None of that was true, according to McGinniss, who said that immediately prior to the photo, he was dosed with pepper spray and removed his shirt because it was "burning my skin." He explained that he had lost his phone in a "melee." He claimed that in the photo he's gesturing to police to help him find his phone.

On Sunday, the Times added a correction to the essay, saying, "A picture caption with an earlier version of this essay misidentified the shirtless man shown outside a broken window at the Capitol. He was a videographer working for The Daily Caller, a right-wing website, not one of the Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol."

A new caption on the photo reads: "A videographer for The Daily Caller, a right-wing website, after being pepper-sprayed during the mayhem at the Capitol, 3:45 p.m."

The correction does not make mention of the removed allegation that McGinniss "punched the door" or was "forced out of the building."

In a Twitter thread, Ingersoll angrily accused the Times of inventing "a story about a credentialed reporter out of whole cloth."

Ingersoll also blasted the Times' correction, accusing the paper of implying that the Daily Caller's reporter "was somehow adjacent to the violence and property destruction."

"This is sickening behavior from the paper of record," Ingersoll tweeted.

"NYT libeled him, then in their correction, left the implication that POSSIBLY MAYBE because he works for a [right-wing] outlet he may have had some role," he continued.

He offered his own take on how the correction should have read

"How about: We referred to a man as a rioter and implied he was engaged in violent activity at the capitol. He was a credentialed reporter and was not engaged in violent activity. The NYT regrets the error."

Twitter now restricting access to an official government website in order to censor NY Post's bombshell Hunter Biden story

In an amazing development Thursday morning, Twitter restricted user access to an official government website in order to censor a bombshell report on Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

What are the details?

On Wednesday, the New York Post ran a story about a "smoking gun" email allegedly indicating former Vice President Biden did in fact meet with a top Burisma executive while in office despite repeatedly claiming the contrary.

Twitter went to great lengths to censor the story, blocking users from sharing it on the platform, barring users from sending it in direct messages, and suspending high-profile accounts that shared the story — including accounts operated by the New York Post, the Trump campaign, and White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.

In response to the censorship, the Republican House Judiciary Committee decided to publish the story on their website so that interested Americans could read it.

The committee then posted a link to the publication on Twitter, redirecting users to their website, not the New York Post's. But it didn't matter, Twitter censored that, too.

Users who tried to access the link had their screens flashed with a warning page, which said "this link may be unsafe."

"The link you are trying to access has been identified by Twitter or our partners as being potentially spammy or unsafe, in accordance with Twitter's URL Policy," the warning page stated.

The page also included a list of reasons for which the link could be considered unsafe:

  • malicious links that could steal personal information or harm electronic devices
  • spammy links that mislead people or disrupt their experience
  • violent or misleading content that could lead to real-world harm
  • certain categories of content that, if posted directly on Twitter, are a violation of the Twitter Rules

In a thread posted by its "Safety" account, Twitter alleged that images and materials contained in the Post's article violated its "private information policy" and its "distribution of hacked materials policy."

What else?

Interestingly enough, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey acknowledged the social media giant's handling of the situation was "unacceptable."

In a tweet Wednesday evening, he said: "Our communication around our actions on the [New York Post] article was not great. And blocking URL sharing via tweet or DM with zero context as to why we're blocking: unacceptable."

The Daily Caller's Geoffrey Ingersoll pointed out the hypocrisy in a tweet Thursday morning.

So, let me see if I get this right: The morning after @jack's big mea culpa on how stupid it was to block the NYPos… https://t.co/jIFlGH50cy

Jason Buttrill, a former intelligence analyst who now works as the chief researcher for "The Glenn Beck Program," wrote in a tweet: "WOW. Now Twitter is blocking access to government sites as well."

Washington Examiner reporter Jerry Dunleavy noted in a tweet that Twitter is not only restricting viewing access to the link on the Judiciary Committee's website, but it is also restricting users from sharing the link on the platform.

Anything else?

Instead of facing questions from the media about the report Wednesday, Biden's campaign called an early morning press "lid."

Then later in the afternoon, the campaign released a prepared statement to Politico that read, "We have reviewed Joe Biden's official schedules from the time and no meeting, as alleged by the New York Post, ever took place."

Though Politico added that "Biden's campaign would not rule out the possibility that the former VP had some kind of informal interaction with [Vadym] Pozharskyi, which wouldn't appear on Biden's official schedule. But they said any encounter would have been cursory. Pozharskyi did not respond to a request for comment."

VIDEO: Protesters harass and assault attendees leaving White House RNC event

Protesters were caught on video assaulting and harassing the attendees who were leaving the last event of the Republican National Convention on Thursday evening.

In one video caught by Tim Carney of the American Enterprise Institute, protesters loudly scream profanities at the attendees as they go through a chainlink gate. At one point a protest aggressively gestures to an elderly white woman.

The video was widely circulated on social media and quickly garnered more than 600k views.

Hundreds of protesters assembled outside the White House to advocate for the goals and aims of the Black Lives Matter movement.

"We are here to liberate black lives because historically, they have been shut down!" explained one protester.

Another video from Carney shows police protecting a couple who are being confronted by protesters:

Another video shows masked protesters aggressively harassing a couple and threatening to assault them.

"How do you feel about the killing of black individuals in America?! Put your hands on me again and I'll f**k you up!" she screamed in the man's face.

Another alarming video shows an older man being mobbed by protesters, with one especially aggressive one shoving a bullhorn in his face and threatening him. He attempts to walk away but he's struck several times from behind.

I’m not sure how any thinking person can defend or distract from this kind of behavior. https://t.co/toF1J2M4fI
— Geoffrey Ingersoll (@Geoffrey Ingersoll)1598586646.0

Later in the video he appears to be knocked down by one of the protesters. Some of the other protesters can be heard defending the man and telling the aggressor to let him walk away.

President Donald Trump made the funding of the police and stamping out rioting by protesters a cornerstone of his convention speech. He argued that a re-election of his administration would mean less rioting in contrast to that of his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden.
