Activists lean on Hollywood to load movies with more climate alarmist propaganda

For years, the LGBT activist outfit GLAAD has waged a pressure campaign to get Hollywood filmmakers to produce as much non-straight content as possible.

GLAAD's annual Studio Responsibility Index assesses the output of major film distributors and determines just how many have dutifully conformed. Last year, GLAAD determined that 100 of the 350 films released in 2022 by 10 key distributors, including the Walt Disney Company and Netflix, contained a non-straight character and 12 contained transvestite characters.

Sony was among the companies castigated for not having enough "LGBTQ-inclusive" films — only eight of its 38 releases assessed in the report met fulfilled activists' criteria.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has played its part, establishing "inclusion" criteria that films and filmmakers must satisfy in order to qualify for awards. Those who fail to conform will be excluded.

The apparent purpose of this exercise is not only conformity but to increasingly expose the population to activist-preferred ideas and imagery, thereby normalizing them in the public consciousness. LGBT propaganda is not, however, the only game in town.

'We are living through a crisis that touches every aspect of our lives, and therefore has a place in every contemporary story.'

The Buck Lab for Climate and Environment at Maine's Colby College and the pronoun-providing team of so-called experts and "storytellers" at the Los Angeles-based consultancy firm Good Energy, recently published a report entitled, "Climate Reality On-Screen: The Climate Crisis in Popular Films, 2013-22," along with a corresponding "tool" that can be used to evaluate whether filmmakers have dutifully advanced climate alarmism in their multi-million dollar agitprop.

After citing U.N. Secretary-General António Guterres' claim that "the era of global boiling has arrived," the report states, "We are living through a crisis that touches every aspect of our lives, and therefore has a place in every contemporary story. Today, films set in the present or near future that do not include climate change can be considered what they are: fantasy."

The activists — English associate professor Matthew Schneider-Mayerson and Good Energy consultants — likened their "Climate Reality Check" assessment to the Bechdel test, which is alternatively used to determine whether a work of fiction contains at least two female characters discussing something other than a man.

Instead of determining whether movies have a satisfactory number of female characters dialogically divorced from the other half of the species — an assessment likely more difficult in GLAAD-conforming films — the climate assessment asks whether, in a given story, climate change exists and a character knows it.

The activists made clear in a separate document that satisfaction of both pieces of this assessment could help advance climate alarmists' agenda.

"Studies show that viewers who see climate change included in films are more likely to prioritize it as an issue that demands attention and action in real life," wrote the activists. "A character talking about climate change can help model conversations about it in real life, and simple conversations about climate change can be remarkably influential."

'Climate change was present in twice as many films released during the second half of the decade we examined (2018 to 2022) compared to the first half (2013 to 2017).'

The activists treated themselves to the study of 250 of the most popular movies released between 2013 and 2022, ignoring high fantasy, science fiction films not set on earth, films set before 2006, and films set in the distant future.

According to the report, only 9.6% of the 250 films "passed."

"Climate change existed in the story world of only 12.8% of all films (passing part one of the test)," said the report. "Climate change was mentioned in two or more scenes in only 3.6% of all films."

While countless filmmakers apparently failed climate alarmists by failing to factor the weather into their writing sessions, the report indicated that conformity has nevertheless been on the rise.

"Climate change was present in twice as many films released during the second half of the decade we examined (2018 to 2022) compared to the first half (2013 to 2017)," said the report. "At this inflection point in the crisis, there is an unprecedented opportunity for Hollywood to help us navigate what it means to be human in the age of climate change, by creating authentic stories that reflect the reality we're all living in."

The activists apparently believe those intended to entertain have an obligation to inform and remind audiences about the supposed "gravity and urgency" of climate change.

Time will tell whether filmmakers will be confronted with yet another index and set of awards criteria aimed at facilitating ideological alignment.

How LGBT Activism Is Harming The Mental Health Of LGBT Youth

LGBT-identifying youth are regurgitating the propaganda of the media and LGBT activists while blaming the right for discrimination and hate.

LGBT Activists And Accomplice Media Exploit Teen Deaths For Political Points

The only person to blame is the alleged murderer, yet this death will be used as another propaganda tool purely for politics.

Wayne Brady boasts that being 'pansexual' is the ultimate form of 'acceptance' and 'loving'

Wayne Brady revealed to a reporter that he believes his newly found sexuality of being "pansexual" is actually the ultimate form of love and acceptance.

Brady hosted the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, a ceremony put on by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.

While walking the red carpet, Brady spoke to reporters and answered questions about misconceptions regarding his sexuality.

"What do you think is the biggest misconception about what it means to identify as pansexual?" a reporter from People asked. "A lot of people, that's a foreign term to them, even amongst queer people, so for you what has been the biggest misconception you've encountered since you've come out?"

"I had to do research and find out what it was I was feel —" Brady replied, before cutting himself off. "I think the biggest misconception, and I even make a joke about it on stage tonight, is that people think you're an indecisive bisexual," he continued.

"It's like no, no, no, no, let me set you straight. What the definition basically boils down to is regardless of gender, regardless."

"That means that I am happily free to fall in love with anybody here. If you're gay, if you're straight, if you're nonbinary, trans, I don't care. It's the person. Which in my mind is the ultimate in acceptance and loving."

"So I win," Brady concluded.

In a PEOPLE Magazine exclusive, Wayne Brady (51) took time to try to clarify the difference between being bisexual and pansexual.

The 51-year-old first revealed his omni-loving sexuality in August 2023, when he stated that part of his mental health needed to involve "self-transparency."

"I want to be free to love whomever I want; this truth makes me pan and part of the LGBTQ+ family," Brady declared.

At the GLAAD Media Awards, Wayne Brady talks about the freedom he\u2019s felt since coming out as pansexual last year.

"It’s my honor to stand here before you as a newly minted out and proud member of the LGBTQIA family!" Brady said to open the awards show.

"Recently, I came out as publicly as queer, identifying as pansexual! I know some of y’all are like 'I knew it! Give me my five dollars, bitch!'" the actor joked.

Brady then implied that gay people have yet to be treated equally, stating that "until the world sees us all in the same light, we’ll have each other’s backs."

The award show was also host to drag queens, Oprah Winfrey, and Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong.

Winfrey accepted an award for making a "significant difference in promoting acceptance of LGBTQ people and issues."

Of course, transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney made an appearance, as did Sydney Sweeney, an actress who has recently been celebrated by conservative audiences.

Actress Niecy Nash also revealed herself as a "card-carrying member" of the gay community, as well.

GLAAD comms director attacks gay health reporter who noted collapse of transgender narrative

LGBT activists and profit-incentivized medical professionals have long claimed that so-called "gender-affirming care" is lifesaving. By this, they mean that confused or mentally ill individuals who forgo or are denied genital mutilation, cross-sex hormones, or ruinous puberty-blocking drugs may alternatively kill themselves.

In various instances, advocates for these medical interventions have told the parents of confused children that they have a choice between a "dead son or a live daughter" or between a "living son or a dead daughter."

A new peer-reviewed study published earlier this month in BMJ Mental Health — the esteemed quarterly journal co-owned by the BMJ Group, the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and the British Psychological Society — put this myth to bed, concluding that "medical gender reassignment does not have an impact on suicide risk."

Days after Blaze News detailed the findings in the study, Benjamin Ryan, a gay health and science reporter with bylines in numerous publications, did likewise in the pages of the of the New York Post. However, Ryan drew the ire of radical LGBT activists, GLAAD's New York-based senior communications director Anthony Morrison in particular.

Although Ryan has long written sensitively on issues of concern to GLAAD and helped people with Morrison's condition, that apparently did little to secure a modicum of civility from his top critic Monday.

Ryan noted in a thread, "A major new Finnish study found: Cross-sex hormones and gender-transition surgeries for adolescents and young adults had no significant independent link to suicide deaths, nor did gender distress severe enough to send young people to a gender clinic."

"What was independently tied to a greater chance of suicide in adolescents and young adults with gender-related distress? A high number of appointments with mental-health specialists — meaning, severe mental health challenges," added the Post contributor.

These and other narrative-killing insights from the Finnish study evidently enraged GLAAD communications director Anthony Morrison, who wrote, "It's awful to hate yourself so much to write about junk science just to make yourself feel good. And as if writing for the Post is 'journalism.' Bye Felicia."

Morrison, a spokesman for a group that initially developed a reputation for supposedly shielding gay people from defamation, elicited scorn from various critics over his remarks.

Journalist Jesse Singal responded, "Tony, do you really think Benjamin Ryan's reporting on youth gender medicine can be attributed to internalized homophobia on his part? Isn't that a pretty big claim to publicly launch from your perch as a senior comms person at an international activist organization?"

Singal added, "This organization's attacks on journalists, many of them quite personal, are absolutely relentless. They are not going to age well. If a right-leaning group acted in this manner it would be a 10-day MSNBC story."

Dennis Noel Kavanagh, director of the Gay Men's Network, noted, "This is somewhat telling. Benjamin is reporting on a respected study that gives lie to the suggestion radical medical interventions are required to stave off suicidal ideation."

"Rather than be happy about that, a GLAAD spokesman is most displeased and resorts to unwarranted personal abuse," continued Kavanagh. "This suggests a rather tactical approach to the extremely serious questions being raised by adults and it's disappointing to observe the especial level of toxicity in the venom reserved for gay men stepping out of line."

Leor Sapir, a fellow at the Manhattan Institute, noted that GLAAD "responded to Ben Ryan's coverage of the latest Finnish study that undermines the 'transition or suicide' narrative ... by attacking Ben himself. Flak is always heaviest over the target."

Another user took issue with Morrison's mischaracterization of the study, writing, "'Junk Science' is the Finish National Institutes of Health study confirming the literature review done by Sweden and England showing no causal link between trans ideation and suicide? Or is it the organizations promoting the sterilization and mutilation of gay kids to 'fix' them?"

"The study he is calling 'junk science' is incomparably more robust than the rest of the literature on this subject combined," wrote Tablet columnist Wesley Yang. "448 young people tracked over 25 years. His resort to ad hominem is a frank confession of intellectual and moral bankruptcy."

Faced with significant backlash, Morrison turned off his replies. When Ryan indicated as much, the GLAAD communications director responded, "Lolololol 'journalism.'"

GLAAD has made abundantly clear what it expects from journalists: to accept and promote its preferred narrative.

In concert with Equality Michigan, the LGBT activist group released guidance on Feb. 27 telling journalists what to "know and report," indicating precisely what and what not to write as well as how to write it.
