Charlotte Pride gives 2023 Harvey Milk award to convicted sex offender

An LGBT festival that runs from August 19-20 in Charlotte, North Carolina, has conferred a top award to a convicted sex offender.

Charlotte Pride, which is sponsored by Bank of America, McDonalds, Bud Light, Lowe's, Nascar, and a host of other ESG-captive corporations, has given its 2023 Harvey Milk Award to Chad Sevearance-Turner.

According to the event's site, this award is given annually "to an individual to honor exceptional leadership, service to the community, and those who champion LGBTQ causes that impact the Charlotte community and beyond."

Sevearance-Turner was apparently awarded for his work as president of the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce — a role in which he has overseen the chamber secure "valuable partnerships with prominent organizations like Fifth Third Bank, NASCAR, Duke Energy, Wells Fargo, Sonoco, and Novant Health."

WBTV-TV reported that Sevearance-Turner had previously served as the president of Charlotte's LGBT Chamber of Commerce but resigned after his track record with young boys had been flagged as a possible discredit to any future work conducted by the group. At the time of Sevearance-Turner's resignation, the group had been pushing to allow transvestites to use women's bathrooms.

The North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry lists Charlotte Pride's new awardee as a registrant, noting he committed the offense for which he was convicted in July 1998.

Reduxx highlighted that Sevearance-Turner only served two years out of a 10-year sentence for molesting an adolescent under the age of 16 and was then released on parole.

Sevearance-Turner, formerly the music director at the New Harvest Church of God in Gaffney, South Carolina, had been found guilty by a jury in Cherokee County, South Carolina, of molesting a 15-year-old parishioner while the boy slept.

GoUpState.com reported in 2000 that Sevearance-Turner had been charged with three counts of lewd act on a minor but that two of the three cases would be tried separately.

One of the alleged victims, reportedly 14 at the time, indicated that Sevearance-Turner invited him over to his then-Bessemer City home and asked him "how he'd feel about a man performing oral sex on him," noting that he figured the music director had been joking at the time.

The same victim claimed that on an another occasion, during a sleepover at second alleged victim's house following a revival meeting, he awoke to find Sevearance-Turner molesting him.

The alleged victim noted why he hadn't come forward straight away: "I was ashamed. ... I thought there was something bad about me."

The victim who had been 15 when molested said that Sevearance-Turner had on another occasion invited him to his home and played a pornographic film for him. Following his molestation, the boy indicated Sevearance-Turner had told him that if he ever told the pastor, "he'd make me look like a fool and a liar."

Another boy, then-15, claimed the future Charlotte Pride awardee had fondled him several times.

Of the three cases, Sevearance-Turner was only convicted on one.

Since his conviction for molesting a minor, at least two LGBT activist groups have provided honors to Sevearance-Turner

Reduxx reported that the LGBT news site QNotes named him "Person of the Year" in 2015.

Sevearance-Turner also accepted the "N.C. Organization of the Year" award from the Human Rights Campaign, a powerful LGBT activist group, in 2016 on behalf of the Charlotte’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce just prior to his resignation as its leader.

Sevearance-Turner's latest award takes its name from Harvey Bernard Milk, a California politician who similarly preyed on boys.

Milk's biographer, Randy Shilts, noted in "The Mayor of Castro Street: The Life and Times of Harvey Milk" that the politician, whose early campaign was funded by the notorious cultist Jim Jones of the Jonestown Massacre, "had a proclivity for male minors, who included 16-year-old Jack Galen McKinley. ... Milk would prime troubled, underage boys and young men with booze and drugs, then coerce them into sexual acts," reported the Federalist.

Shilts, a San Francisco Chronicle reporter and close friend of Milk, who died of AIDS in 1994, wrote, "Sixteen-year-old McKinley was looking for some kind of father figure. … At 33, Milk was launching a new life, though he could hardly have imagined the unlikely direction toward which his new lover would pull him."

McKinley later committed suicide.

Per California's current statutory rape law, instituted in 1970, having sex with a 16-year-old is statutory rape, rendering Milk a rapist.

Despite his criminal pederasty, Milk was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former President Barack Obama.

Concerning his recognition by Charlotte Pride, Turner said in a LinkedIn post, "I am honored to be to be chosen as the 2023 Harvey Milk Award recipient! I am also humbled to be listed with these amazing humans who do so much great work for our region. Charlotte Pride, thank you for your daily work and advocacy for the LGBT and community and beyond!"

Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce said in a statement that Turner's receipt of the award is "a testament to his unwavering commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusivity in the workplace and marketplace," and thanked him for "making a positive impact."

Reduxx indicated that Charlotte Pride has yet to comment on whether it knew of Sevearance-Turner's background prior to conferring the award to him.

Newsom and other leftists enraged after school board president said Harvey Milk was a 'pedophile'

The president of the Temecula school board in California has drawn the ire of leftists, including Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom, for having dared to point out an iconic gay activist's documented appetite for boys.

The Temecula Valley Unified District governing board convened on May 16 to debate the adoption of a new social studies curriculum for its elementary schools.

Dr. Joseph Komrosky, TVUSD president, and board members Jennifer Wiersma and Danny Gonzalez, signaled their opposition to elements of the propagandizing curriculum recently piloted by teachers in the district and approved by the California Department of Education, reported KABC-TV.

The trio, backed in their election to the board last year by the conservative Inland Empire Family PAC, voted 3-2 against the implementation of the curriculum, citing a lack of parental input and the presence of inappropriate content.

"I don't want my 3rd grader studying an LGBTQ issue. I don't want them going into gender ideology," said Wiersma, adding, "Parents need to be involved. ... With something as important as history, we need to take another look."

After Gonzalez alerted the board to writ concerning a pedophilic activist in the course materials, Dr. Komorosky asked for clarification.

Board member Allison Barclay preempted Gonzalez's response, stating, "There is a lesson on Harvey Milk in the curriculum."

After Barclay's telling interruption, Gonzalez specified that the proposed fourth-grade materials included biographic detail and a photo of Harvey Milk, adding he found it to be "wildly inappropriate based on [Milk's] lifestyle choices and some of the things he was involved in outside of his political career."

When an advocate for the curriculum explained to the board that the Harvey Milk materials to be impressed on children were supplemental, not in the new textbook, Dr. Komrosky replied, "My question is why even mention a pedophile?"

The suggestion that Milk was a pedophile, confirmed by the activist's biographer Randy Shilts in "The Mayor of Castro Street: The Life and Times of Harvey Milk," immediately caused a stir.

Barclay fired back, "He's not a pedophile."

Dr. Komrosky said, "I beg to differ," stressing the invocation of Milk in the curriculum "is a form of activism."

Barclay continued defending the inclusion of Milk in the student-facing materials, recommending that Komrosky read the activist's biography.

"You might have a different impression of the definition of pedophilia," said Barclay.

Shilts revealed in his biography of Milk that the politician, whose early campaign was funded by the notorious cultist Jim Jones of the Jonestown Massacre, "had a proclivity for male minors, who included 16-year-old Jack Galen McKinley. ... Milk would prime troubled, underage boys and young men with booze and drugs, then coerce them into sexual acts," reported the Federalist,

Shilts, a San Francisco Chronicle reporter and close friend of Milk who died of AIDS in 1994, wrote, "Sixteen-year-old McKinley was looking for some kind of father figure. … At 33, Milk was launching a new life, though he could hardly have imagined the unlikely direction toward which his new lover would pull him."

McKinley later committed suicide.

The age of consent in California is 18. The Daily Caller indicated that in light of California's current statutory rape law institute in 1970, having sex with a 16-year-old is statutory rape. It would appear, therefore that even if not a pedophile by Barclay's preferred definition, Milk may have been both a statutory rapist and a pederast.

Advocate, an LGBT magazine, accused Dr. Komrosky of "falsely" asserting that Milk was a sexual predator.

The One Temecula Valley PAC is doubling-down on their push for Dr. Komrosky, Gonzalez, and Wiersma to resign, having pursued that end since the conservatives' election, reported the Guardian.

Newsom — who recently ratified law enabling judges to keep men who prey on grade schoolers 10 years their junior, between the ages of 14 and 17, off sex-offender registries — responded to Dr. Komrosky on Twitter, writing, "An offensive statement from an ignorant person. This isn't Texas or Florida. In the Golden State, our kids have the freedom to learn. Congrats Mr. Komorsky you have our attention. Stay tuned."

Neither Dr. Komrosky nor Gonzalez were shaken by Newsom's threat. They both fired back Wednesday on the conservative podcast "Our Watch with Tim Thompson."

Dr. Komrosky suggested the governor "should have learned more about the exploitation of young children during the #MeToo movement to help ... avoid celebrating pederasts and those who would steal our children's virtue."

"Gov. Newsom, I’m glad that I have your attention. Now you have mine," added Dr. Komrosky. "I received my first death threat after your tweet and relentless attacks on my job as a well-standing tenured professor. ... My remarks about Mr. Milk were not based on him being a homosexual, but rather based upon him being an adult having a sexual relationship with a minor," said the board president.

Concerning the board's decision not to adopt the new curriculum, the TVUSD stated:

The district is currently extending the window for viewing and feedback on textbook materials that were piloted and recommended by our teachers. We will continue to gather additional community and parent feedback for the board. At this time, we are not looking at changes with the publisher since TCI is a CDE approved curriculum that complies with the FAIR Act. TCI is also our approved Social Studies textbook at the middle school level. We are working with TCI and our pilot teachers to provide additional parent/community nights to share the materials again and provide an opportunity for additional questions. We want to ensure that parents and community members have as much information as possible and are able to provide even more feedback.

While Losing Wars, U.S. Military Celebrates Pederast Harvey Milk

The U.S. Navy just dedicated its newest vessel to known sexual predator and gay politician Harvey Milk because he 'made a difference.'

Transgender female Navy veteran christens ship named after slain gay rights leader Harvey Milk

A U.S. Navy ship named after slain gay rights leader Harvey Milk was christened by a transgender female Navy veteran this weekend.

What are the details?

Milk — who served with the Navy in the Korean War — became the first openly gay elected official in California, winning a seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1977. Milk and Mayor George Moscone were assassinated a year later by former city supervisor Dan White.

Paula Neira — a Navy veteran and the clinical program director at the Center for Transgender Health at Johns Hopkins University — christened the ship Saturday in San Diego, National Public Radio reported.

The Navy ordered Neira's name corrected on discharge paperwork — a first for a transgender Navy veteran, according to the Baltimore Sun.

"I christen thee Harvey Milk," Neira said before smashing the traditional bottle of champagne. "May God bless the ship and all who sail in her."

Neira and U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) sponsored the ship, NPR said.

More from the outlet:

Naming the ship after an icon of the LGBTQ rights movement represents a symbolic milestone for the military following a long history in which gay service members were unable to serve openly. Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro said it helps right the wrongs of the past and shows a commitment to current and future LGBTQ service members. It's estimated that 100,000 veterans have been discharged from military service because of their sexual orientation.

"Leaders like Harvey Milk taught us that diversity of backgrounds and experiences help contribute to the strength and resolve of our nation," Del Toro said, according to NPR. "There is no doubt that the future Sailors aboard this ship will be inspired by Milk's life and legacy."

Stuart Milk — Milk's nephew and cofounder of the Harvey Milk Foundation — told the outlet that the Navy gave documents to the Milk family outlining Harvey Milk's discharge and that it was "less than honorable." While Stuart Milk added to NPR that the Navy asked him about posthumously reversing his uncle's dishonorable discharge, he said he nixed the idea as a reminder that not everyone was treated with honor.

Anything else?

White committed suicide in October 1985 — apparently it was carbon monoxide poisoning — a year after he was paroled for his voluntary manslaughter sentence in connection with the deaths of White and Moscone.
