A political ad against Democrat candidate Abdul El-Sayed is being called one of the most powerful ads of this election period.
The video shows El-Sayed, who is running for U.S. Senate in Michigan, refusing to disavow the disturbing views of socialist streamer Hasan Piker, who has said that America "deserved" the 9/11 terror attacks.
'I'm not here to disavow people's views.'
"Some of you have heard about my son. His name was Todd Beamer," says David Beamer as photos flash of happier times with his son.
"He had little boys age 3 and a half and 1 and a half. He had a wife, Lisa. She was five months pregnant," he adds.
Todd Beamer was on the infamous United Flight 93 when Islamic terrorists hijacked the plane with intentions of crashing it into a prominent building, perhaps the U.S. Capitol. He was famously overheard on the phone call with a phone operator before passengers decided to confront the hijackers.
"They took a vote and decided, 'We need to fight back,'" his father says in the video.
"Then they responded to him, and he said, 'OK. Let's roll,'" phone operator Lisa Jefferson recounts.
Todd Beamer's actions and those of the passengers and crew likely saved many American lives. The plane crashed in a Pennsylvania field instead of hitting its intended target.
"Those 43 people on Flight 93 were not victims. They were killed in action," continues David Beamer.
"When I hear anyone suggest America deserves 9/11, my question is: Who would say that?" he concludes.
The ad continues with comments from Piker on livestreamed video defending the terrorists' actions.
"America deserved 9/11, dude. I'm saying it!" Piker said in 2019.
It concludes with El-Sayed refusing to reject Piker's views.
"Abdul, are there are any views that Hasan holds that you disavow?" asks a reporter.

"I'm not here to disavow people's views," El-Sayed says in the video.
Many online reacted emotionally to the political ad, which called on voters to reject El-Sayed and support Republican Mike Rogers.
In August, El-Sayed did refer to Piker's comments as "dumb" but did not say whether he would stop campaigning with the streamer.

The man who infamously stated that "America deserved 9/11" has trashed the country again, this time on the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
On Friday, Hasan Piker interrupted what he called the "forcible reverence" for 9/11 to reiterate his "godd**n God-given and constitutionally protected right" to smear America as an evil and heartless country.
El-Sayed's attempts to shake his previous associations with Piker have not worked.
"How can you not get angry and resentful about a government that does nothing to treat [its] sickly, to feed its hungry, to feed its starving, to shelter its homeless when we have all the money, we have an abundance of wealth and prosperity, and we just refuse to spread it around? Of course that makes me angry," he said.
Piker also claimed that those on the left have repeatedly stood by the heroes who participated in the recovery and rebuilding efforts after 9/11, while those on the right have simply exploited them for political gain.
"There's a long, time-honored tradition of the left trying to do their very best to help 9/11 first responders, 9/11 victims, and the right simply weaponizing their memory in order to wage war, destroy American civil liberties, and then consistently foment hatred towards Muslims all around the world."
Piker did blame the left for complicity in the Global War on Terror, alleged maltreatment of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, and other instances of American "fascism."
Piker acknowledged that he is "currently at the center" of controversy because of his past remarks about America and 9/11, especially claiming in 2019 that "America deserved" the horrific terrorist attacks.
Since those comments resurfaced earlier this summer, Democrats like Abdul El-Sayed, running for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, have scrambled to distance themselves from Piker even after cozying up to him.
El-Sayed brought Piker to Michigan to campaign with him multiple times, including in early August, but now seems to avoid saying Piker's name, usually referring to him as just a "Twitch streamer in California."

However, El-Sayed's attempts to shake his previous associations with Piker have not worked. The media has continued to ask him about Piker, and El-Sayed has not concealed his exasperation with the Piker questions.
For instance, El-Sayed told Weijia Jiang of CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday: "With all due respect, this is the third time you’ve asked about a Twitch streamer in California."
Piker admitted on Friday that Republican ads tying El-Sayed to 9/11 and Islamic terrorism have been effective. "To say that this doesn't have an impact, it would also be silly. Of course it does," he said.
"There are people who are primed, looking for any opportunity they can get to unload and to make responsible every Muslim American in the country for 9/11," Piker continued. "... The question is, do we get to win those people back with decency? Do we get to win those people back with good policies?"
Piker indicated that Muslims running for office in America, such as El-Sayed, and those already in office, such as NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, whom Piker called "the real president of the United States," are "victims to the Islamophobic narratives that are running amok" and therefore must be "extra careful."

Socialism 2026 — Haymarket Books’ annual gathering of Marxists, abolitionists, and far-left activists — ran September 4-7.
As you might expect, content centered on abolition — not just of capitalism, but also of police, prisons, borders, the family, and “cisness.” Not to mention plenty of speeches on Marxist theory, Palestine solidarity, anti-ICE organizing, and labor strategy.
Glenn Beck was horrified and amused at the freak-show antics of the four-day conference. On this episode of “The Glenn Beck program,” he revisits the most viral lowlights of the event and warns of the looming 2028 strike plan hiding behind them.
While many of the session titles were predictable, some were truly unhinged. Glenn names a few: “Health Fascism,” “Body Politics,” “The Anti-State State,” “Feminism Against Cisness,” “Abolishing the Family Through Black Feminist Lens,” and “Tarot Cards for Socialists.”
The one about tarot cards, he laughs, was his “favorite.”
“Apparently the godless need some advice and a second opinion as well,” he quips.
Another noteworthy moment, Glenn says, is when Hassan Piker — the celebrity salesman of abolition socialism — gladly received a hat from a Stand with Abortion Now member with the inscription “Satan’s School of Gay Communism.”
He then plays a clip of self-described queer/trans Afropessimist and anarcho-communist Da’Shaun Harrison arguing that GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic are “fascistic” because they exist in “a world fixated on genociding fat people.”
While Harrison’s anti-GLP-1 argument makes Glenn roll his eyes, it’s the fact that he’s still wearing a mask that really ticks him off.
“For the love of Pete, COVID is way in the past. The mask didn't work in the first place,” he scoffs, noting that “a lot of the people at this convention were still wearing masks.”
As for Harrison’s fat-genocide grievance, Glenn sees a glaring flaw.
“Why would Americans want to genocide fat people? We'd all be dead. We'd all be dead. Have you been to a mall lately? Have you seen the American public recently?” he asks, baffled.
Sitting next to Harrison on the “Health Fascism” panel was Beatrice Alder Bolton — a disability-justice writer and podcaster.
“The fantasy of being fitter than the fascists — it's not just that it's cringe or strategically bad, though it is. I think it's also politically revealing. Fitness is a measure of relative disposability under capitalism,” she argued.
“Our task is not to become less disposable, to become more useful to the ruling order. What we all need to be doing is rejecting disposability in all of its forms,” she added.
Again, Glenn sees the irony. Bolton, who is wearing a mask to protect herself against sickness, is arguing that being fit and healthy is a capitalist trap.
“We don't have to worry about being healthy? Then take the mask off, sweetheart,” he snaps.
The problem with this group of radical abolitionists, he says, is not that they have bad ideas. “We all have bad ideas. … Bad ideas happen all the time. What you're looking at here in Chicago is a room where a bad idea has no place to die,” he says, explaining how dissent is equivalent to treason in such movements.
But the most alarming thing about Socialism 2026, Glenn argues, isn’t found in the viral videos about fat-genocide and fitness-as-fascism. It’s what’s coming in 2028.
“Mayday 2028” is “not a slogan” but a planned and well-organized strike that, if successful, will shut down many workplaces simultaneously.
“The UAW has called for aligning major union contract expirations on May 1, 2028. Other unions have moved their dates to match. DSA passed its resolution at its convention committing to build a mass action,” says Glenn.
“One organizer called [Socialism 2026] a structured test — a rehearsal to count how many people will actually walk out when asked. They are patient. They are funded. They are well scheduled, two and a half years out,” he continues.
So while most people are busy buzzing about viral X clips, “the calendar is the part that matters,” he warns.
