What did Amber Heard put in her nose 'right in front of God and jury'?

During the epic daytime drama known as Johnny Depp’s defamation lawsuit against his former wife Amber Heard, the "Aquaman" actress took the stand for the second day on Thursday to make a series of disturbing allegations against her ex-husband.

Heard broke down in tears as she described the details of Depp's alleged drug and alcohol-fueled abuse, which is why it definitely wasn't weird when the actress lifted a tissue to her nose and did something that looked a lot like a scene from "Pulp Fiction."

A video of Heard's not-at-all-suspicious behavior has been making the rounds on social media, garnishing nearly 4 million views in just a matter of hours. BlazeTV host Chad Prather shared the viral video with the caption "Yo sis. What you doin?"

For reasons we can't explain, some people on Twitter seemed to think Heard's actions had something to do with Coke, you know, the bubbly beverage. Though why she would put that in her nose is beyond us.

Capitol Hill fox update: DC health department says the recently captured and euthanized fox tested positive for rabies

A fox said to have bitten multiple people on Capitol Hill before eventually getting nabbed and euthanized has tested positive for rabies.

"The DC Public Health lab has confirmed the fox that was captured yesterday tested positive for the rabies virus. DC Health is contacting all human victims who were bitten by the fox," the DC Department of Health reportedly said in a statement on Wednesday.

The department had previously noted that the animal was "humanely euthanized so that rabies testing may be done."

Democratic Rep. Ami Bera of California was one of the unfortunate people who recently experienced a fox attack.

Heather Caygle of Punchbowl News reported that the Bera told her that the animal had pierced his suit to his sock, but that the congressman said he did not see any wound on his skin.

Bera characterized the attack that unfolded near the Russel building as "unprovoked."

"I didn’t see it and all of a sudden I felt something lunge at the back of my leg," the congressman said, according to Caygle. "I jumped and got my umbrella," Bera noted.

Caygle said that the congressman demonstrated how he turned around swiftly, utilizing his umbrella to frighten the creature away.

"Someone was like 'hey a fox is attacking that guy,'" Bera said. "Capitol police came out and then fox ran away. It was the most bizarre day in Congress," the congressman noted.

"I expect to get attacked if I go on Fox News, I don’t expect to get attacked by a fox," he said, according to Caygle.

Scott Wong of NBC News noted in a tweet that Bera had said he was not certain that the fox that was captured was the same fox that had bitten him.

"The fox pierced Rep. Bera’s suit, but it was inconclusive whether or not the fox pierced his skin," Bera's communications director Travis Horne reportedly said. "Out of an abundance of caution and per the Attending Physicians recommendation, Rep. Bera went to Walter Reed Hospital ... and received his appropriate shots," Horne noted

Marjorie Taylor Greene fumes as GOP leaders reportedly side with Democrats in push for her ouster from committees

Newly elected Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) lashed out at "hate America Democrats" and their "bloodthirsty media" henchmen on Twitter Wednesday in response to a Democratic initiative to oust her from committee assignments that had reportedly begun to resonate with Republican leadership.

Greene — who has drawn condemnation from Democrats, and some Republicans, over past controversial social media posts and alleged support for the QAnon conspiracy movement — maintained defiance in the face of attempts to diminish her influence in Congress.

What's the background?

News broke overnight that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Republican leadership were "leaning toward" acquiescing to Democratic demands and removing Greene from the House Education and Labor Committee unless she decided to step down on her own.

McCarthy reportedly approached Greene with the ultimatum during a late night meeting Tuesday, explaining to her that the situation was reaching a breaking point and that Democrats forcing a vote on her removal puts Republicans in a "bad spot."

Here's more from Politico:

During a two-hour meeting Tuesday night with Greene, McCarthy explained to the QAnon supporter that her controversial past statements were coming to a head. The problem, McCarthy told her: Democrats are threatening to force a vote to remove her from her committees — and that puts the entire GOP Conference in a bad spot. McCarthy tried to give Greene options, according to a person familiar with their talk: She could denounce QAnon and apologize publicly for espousing hurtful conspiracy theories and endorsing violence on Democrats. She could remove herself from the panel to spare her colleagues a vote on the matter. Or, she could face removal from her own GOP peers.

The meeting, however, did not go the way McCarthy had hoped, Politico noted. Because shortly after, the GOP leader reportedly tried unsuccessfully to broker a deal with Democratic House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (Md.) in which McCarthy offered to remove Greene from the Education and Labor committee if Democrats allowed her to remain on the Budget Committee.

What happened next?

Showing no signs of backing down, Greene took to Twitter Wednesday morning to excoriate Democratic lawmakers and members of the media for their attacks on her.

"No matter what [McCarthy] does it would never be enough for the hate America Democrats," Greene blasted. "As much as he genuinely tries to work with [Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.)] for the good of this country, she refuses to see the hypocrisy of her own conference."

The first term lawmaker then unleashed a tidal wave of insults at the Democratic Party.

"They are only set out to destroy Republicans, your jobs, our economy, your children's education and lives, steal our freedoms, and erase God's creation. And the bloodthirsty media are their henchmen who help them by relentlessly attacking anyone in their path," she added.

Anything else?

After McCarthy failed to strike a compromise with Hoyer on Wednesday, Democrats set the House resolution vote on Greene's removal from committee assignments for Thursday.

According to Politico reporter Heather Caygle, Hoyer said, "I spoke to Leader McCarthy this morning, and it is clear there is no alternative to holding a Floor vote on the resolution to remove Rep. Greene from her committee assignments."

Report: Massachusetts school bans 'The Odyssey' as progressives demand purge of classics

A Massachusetts school has reportedly removed "The Odyssey" from its English curriculum as progressive education activists and critical race theory ideologues seek to "disrupt texts" by purging material they deem objectionable from classrooms.

Meghan Cox Gurdon, in an opinion column for the Wall Street Journal, wrote about a "sustained effort" by "critical-theory ideologues, schoolteachers and Twitter agitators" to "deny children access to literature." These activists object to classic texts, such as Homer's Odyssey or Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter," because they allege such texts may teach "racism, sexism, ableism, anti-Semitism, and other forms of hate."

"The subtle complexities of literature are being reduced to the crude clanking of 'intersectional' power struggles," Gurdon wrote.

She quoted from an article by young-adult novelist Padma Venkatraman published in the School Library Journal, that claims "challenging old classics is the literary equivalent of replacing statues of racist figures."

"[E]xposing young people to stories in which racism, sexism, ableism, anti-Semitism, and other forms of hate are the norm may sow seeds of bias that can grow into indifference or prejudice," Venkatraman wrote.

"Racism in classics can't be negated merely by alerting young readers to its presence," she continued. "Unless we have the time, energy, attention, expertise, and ability to foster nuanced conversations in which even the shyest readers feel empowered to engage if they choose, we may hurt, not help. Pressuring readers of color to speak up also removes free choice and can be harmful."

She further claimed, "Insisting on exposing diverse children to racist classics in which they see characters like themselves demeaned, or, at best, entirely excluded, is not just insensitive, but downright cruel," but she does not advocate banning classic texts from the classroom.

"I'm not advocating we ban classics. Or erase the past. Classics are undoubtedly examples of excellent writing, or they wouldn't have survived the test of time. I'm just suggesting we study classics in social studies classrooms, where inherent ideas of inequity are exposed and examined," Venkatraman clarifies.

However, Gurdon's column provided examples of other activists that indeed want to outright ban classics.

Ninth-grade English teacher Heather Levine, who works for Lawrence Public Schools in Massachusetts, celebrated the fact that "The Odyssey" was removed from the school curriculum in response to a tweet calling the epic poem about the Greek mythological hero Odysseus "trash."

@sheathescholar @DisruptTexts Hahaha - very proud to say we got the Odyssey removed from the curriculum this year!
— Heather Levine (@Heather Levine)1591284349.0

Gurdon contacted Levine to confirm that the school banned the Odyssey, but was told her inquiry was "invasive." The English Department chairman of Lawrence Public Schools did not return Gurdon's multiple requests for comment.

Seattle English teacher Evin Shinn in 2018 tweeted that he'd "rather die" than teach "The Scarlet Letter" in class.
