Yet another HS teacher freaks out in class after election — this time over student wearing Trump hat

Yet another southern California high school teacher lashed out in a classroom after President-elect Donald Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris last week.

KTTV-TV reported that the "popular teacher" at Chino High School could be in hot water following his furious reaction toward a student who wore a Trump hat the day after the election.

'Can you send security up, please? ... I have a boy who has a Trump hat on, and I'm not gonna tolerate it today, bye bye.'

Corey DeAngelis, senior fellow at the American Culture Project, posted snippets of the teacher's outbursts on X.

"A child molester, huh?" the teacher said on one video clip. "Vote for that freaking rapist ... I'm sorry, guys. I'm sorry. I have a daughter, I have three nieces, and he'd rape them, and people are voting for him. Christians are voting for him. Bunch of losers. Fake Christians."

The teacher said in another clip, "I'm pissed, people voting for a freaking rapist, and I'm pissed off" before adding, "I don't care, fire the hell out of me. I'm fighting for my daughter, my nieces, their rights."

The teacher is heard in another clip hollering to "turn it off and ... go back to your freaking seat now! Go!" Immediately afterward, the teacher is heard speaking — presumably on a phone or intercom, "Can you send security up, please? ... I have a boy who has a Trump hat on, and I'm not gonna tolerate it today, bye bye."

In that same clip, the teacher then appears to speak to a student: "I don't care if you have a Harris hat or a Trump hat, you're outta here. You know better. Tell [Principal John] Miller, 'I should have the right to vote for a rapist and a child molester,' go for it, go for it. I don't give a F!"

In another clip — in which he seems to be out of breath — the teacher snaps at another student, "Excuse me! What's wrong with me?" When the student appears to ask what the other student's hat said, the teacher replies, "Trump. The rapist. Even Trumpers don't deny it; they just vote for him ... gonna get rid of 20 million immigrants ... You know who should get out? You know who owns this land? ... Native Americans ..."

How did the school board president react?

Chino Valley Unified School District board president Sonja Shaw told KTTV the video is real, that it's "unacceptable," and that other school districts are having the same issue.

Shaw added to the station that while the school has a dress code, it refers to indecent exposure and hate language — and that a Trump hat "is not out of code."

"We had many students wearing T-shirts supporting both sides of the political debate in several schools without issue," Shaw added to KTTV.

The board president added to the station that she can't speak to what may happen to the unnamed teacher, but Shaw also said "if this teacher unfortunately has to be the example of what not to do, we need to move forward ... and bring our kids together. Respecting each other, be it political issues or anything else."

KTTV reported that the teacher — who has been at the school for years without incident — hasn't responded to the station's attempts to speak with him.

Parent Oscar Avila told KTTV: "God knows what this teacher could be capable of doing in a fit of rage. You cannot scream at a kid, call someone names over a political issue. That's wrong. I don't mind kids being corrected, but in the proper way — not over some political stuff."

Cops arrest 26-year-old former HS teacher, accuse her of sexual intercourse with male student

Authorities arrested a 26-year-old former teacher of an Arkansas high school and accused her of engaging in sexual intercourse with a male student.

What are the details?

The Cross County Sheriff's Office said Kara Lee, formerly of Cross County High School in Cherry Valley, was arrested in connection with incidents that occurred last November and December. It isn't clear when Lee's employment ended.

The sheriff's office added that the Crimes Against Children Division received a call, after which an investigation was launched "finding that Lee had inappropriate physical touching and sexual intercourse with a male student. This investigation is ongoing."

A jail record indicates Lee was charged with three counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Lee was booked at 10 a.m. Thursday and released about two hours later, the jail record also says.

Anything else?

A school district news item posted over a year ago introduced Lee as a new teacher of high school resource math and a recent graduate of Arkansas State University with a degree in psychology.

“Cross County will always be home, and I’m excited to be a Thunderbird again!” Lee is quoted as remarking in the news entry.

The entry adds that Lee "enjoys horseback riding, barrel racing, hiking, kayaking, and field testing with her dog Bru. She is excited for her first year teaching, and is looking forward to meeting everyone."

How are folks reacting?

A Yahoo News story on the arrest has received more than 1,000 comments and counting since it was posted Thursday:

  • "Seems like [there are] few men these days in the news for same crime," one commenter wrote. "As long as women know they get 30 days in the slammer instead of 30 years like a man expect many more 'hot for teacher' stories in the news."
  • "It's called rape. Why make it sound more innocent?" another commenter asked. "They have no problem using that word when the gender is reversed."
  • "Don't just take the word of the kid," another commenter cautioned. "Kids lie, and lives get ruined trying to get back or rid of the teacher. What issues does he have with the teacher? I'm very suspicious since this has happen[ed] to 2 people I know who ended up in jail on hearsay."

Teacher allegedly said 'hail Satan' to students while waving pitchfork over their heads. Now teacher is on leave.

A public high school teacher in Mesa, Arizona, is on paid administrative leave after allegedly donning devil horns and saying "hail Satan" to students while waving a pitchfork over their heads as they entered the classroom.

What are the details?

Sophomore Nathaniel Hamlet told KPNX-TV he walked into his Mesa High School class last Wednesday and noticed his teacher wearing devil horns and carrying a pitchfork.

Hamlet alleged to the station that his teacher proceeded to wave the pitchfork over students' heads as they entered the classroom and said "hail Satan" to them.

"Some people thought it was funny, some people didn't like it, some people were like 'whatever,' they just blew it off," Hamlet noted to KPNX.

But it got personal for Hamlet — a Christian — particularly when he said his teacher kept up the routine with him even after he told the teacher to stop, the station noted.

"I said, 'Don't do that to me,' and I pushed [the pitchfork] away, maybe three or four times, and he still said it and still did it," Hamlet recounted to KPNX.

Hamlet also told the station that his teacher even stretched the pitchfork in a backward motion toward him "and did it again" as he walked past the teacher and into the classroom.

The sophomore then told his dad, Chris Hamlet — a former Mesa Public School board candidate — what happened, the station said. His dad then reported it to the Mesa High School principal, KPNX noted.

"I was livid because I am a Christian as well, obviously," Chris Hamlet told the station. “What really tipped it over for me is he kept telling him no, and the teacher kept persisting.”

What happened next?

Nathaniel Hamlet told KPNX the teacher wasn't in the classroom the next day and hasn't been back since. He added to the station that he believes the teacher "should probably get fired" for doing the stunt "repeatedly to everyone."

Hamlet's father agrees, telling KPNX that even if it was a gag, what the teacher allegedly did wasn't appropriate: "If you're gonna keep the Christian stuff out, then you got to keep the devil-worshiping stuff out, period."

What did the teacher have to say?

The teacher on Tuesday told the station the outfit was for Halloween spirit week, adding that the theme was dynamic duos, and the teacher next door was wearing an angel costume.

"Participating in spirit weeks, like, this is a way for me to engage with my students and bring fun to my classroom," the teacher told KPNX. "It's truly not any more complicated than that."

What did the school district have to say?

A Mesa Public Schools spokesperson told the station that once it got word of what allegedly happened, the human resources department launched an investigation and "placed the teacher on paid administrative leave pending the result of the investigation. The investigation remains ongoing."

Other parents picking up their kids from school Monday told KPNX that while they don't agree with what the teacher did, firing the teacher may be taking things too far.

Anything else?

The station said Chris Hamlet posted the following on a Facebook post last month recruiting Republican precinct committeemen: "Evil is rampant within the Republican party as well; we need WARRIORS for CHRIST!!”

The station said Chris Hamlet ran for the Mesa Unified School Board in 2022 as an opponent of "indoctrination, hypersexualization, and grooming." KPNX added that "prominent far-right Republicans — state Sen. Wendy Rogers of Flagstaff and Congressman Paul Gosar of Bullhead City" — supported him. The station said Hamlet finished sixth in a seven-person field of candidates.

High School Teacher’s NBC Op-Ed Tries To Pull The Wool Over The Public’s Eyes About CRT

Teacher Ann Lutz Fernandez claims teachers keep politics out of the classroom while providing evidence of exactly the opposite.

NY teacher shares cartoon with students comparing police officers to KKK. It was part of a Black Lives Matter-themed assignment.

A teacher in Thornwood, New York, is facing backlash after distributing a political cartoon to 11th-grade students. The cartoon compared police officers to members of the KKK.

The cartoon was part of a Black Lives Matter-themed assignment.

What are the details?

According to the New York Post, Westlake High School teacher Christopher Moreno shared the cartoon with students during his U.S. History and Government class on Sept. 8.

The cartoon, an attachment to a larger assignment promoting the Black Lives Matter movement, disturbed student Nicole Paternostro, who told the outlet that the cartoon was "disgusting."

"It compared the police with all the terrible people in history," she said. "It was not fair. It wasn't right."

According to the Post, "The first three frames [of the cartoon] show slave owners and a member of the KKK with their knees on the backs of black men in shackles. The KKK member also has a noose around the black man's neck."

"The last two panels depict a sheriff and a police officer each with their knees on the neck of a black man in handcuffs," the outlet continued. "The black man is saying 'I can't breath' [sic] — what black Minneapolis victim George Floyd gasped as his neck was knelt on by white cop Derek Chauvin, sparking ongoing BLM protests across the city."

Her mother, Ania, hit out at the district for "brainwashing" children in the district with a pro-Black Lives Matter agenda.

"My daughter showed me the paper. I said, 'What is this?! You've got to be kidding me!" she said. "This cartoon compares the police to the KKK. It's an attack on police."

"We don't need a teacher brainwashing my kids," she said. "I'll teach my kids about what's right and what's wrong."

She added, "We have to respect the men in blue who protect us."

Mount Pleasant Police Chief Paul Oliva hit out at the cartoon in remarks to WCBS-TV.

"My concerns are that a cartoon like this can foster violence towards the police, as what happened this past weekend in California," he said, referring to the ambush-style shooting of two Los Angeles County deputies.

In a statement, Mount Pleasant School District Superintendent Kurt Kotes said he would be looking into the incident.

The Daily Mail reported that Kotes sent a letter to parents, which said, in part:

I want to address an issue that I have recently been advised is of deep concern to many members of our community.Specifically, I have been advised that one of our High School teachers may have recently conducted a lesson that many have deemed to be highly controversial in the current climate.I want to assure the community that the District will be conducting a thorough investigation to determine what exactly occurred in this particular classroom and what, if any, action is to be taken under the circumstances to appropriately address the matter. Once the investigation has been completed we will follow up with the community to the extent necessary and legally appropriate.

In August, a Texas school teacher came under fire for using the same cartoon in a lesson plan.

School officials with the Wylie Independent School District, north of the Dallas area, said in a statement that the assignment was not authorized.

The assignment was provided to a junior high-aged class in a Bill of Rights-related assignment.
