Joy Behar makes gets hit with brutal backlash after making joke about NFL player that many viewed as homophobic

Joy Behar of "The View" faced immediate and brutal blowback for a homophobic joke she made about an NFL player who came out as gay.

The show's hosts were discussing the announcement from Carl Nassib of the Las Vegas Raiders when Behar made her inappropriate joke.

"After they said penetration in the end zone, they lost me!" she remarked.

Behar's joke was immediately circulated and condemned by many on Twitter.

"Joy Behar makes a blatant homophobic comment. Will there be outrage? Will she be cancelled? No, because she's a Liberal," said one critic.

"F**k Joy Behar! Making an anal sex joke about a gay man coming out is utterly disgusting," replied another.

"This is completely unacceptable and beyond s***ty from Joy Behar. The first active NFL player in history comes out of the closet and he's met with a cheap anal sex joke on national TV?" responded another Twitter user.

"Joy and people like her are why so many remain in the closet. It's NOT ok," read another tweet.

Many noted that the lone conservative on the panel show, Meghan McCain, was the only co-host to not laugh at the problematic joke.

Behar appeared to anticipate the outrage over her joke because she tried to walk it back before the segment even ended.

"By the way, that inappropriate joke I made for daytime television? Scratch it. Make believe I never said it," she said.

Nassib revealed that he was gay in an Instagram video post on Monday. He became the first openly gay football player who is active on a team's roster. In 2014, Michael Sam was the first openly gay player to be drafted by an NFL team, but he was cut before he could play in an in-season game.

Arby's worker fired after writing homophobic slur on gay couple's receipt

An employee at an Arby's restaurant is looking for another job after writing a homophobic slur on a gay couple's receipt.

Craig Gray and John Burns said they were completely shocked when they saw the insult while dining at the fast-food restaurant Sunday in Lafayette, Indiana.

They said the man who took their order didn't appear to be upset by the couple.

"We went to the counter and ordered," Burns said to NBC News. "The cashier that helped us, the young man that's been mentioned, seemed really new and a little awkward, but very nice. So a very run of the mill type of fast-food occurrence. Nothing that you would expect out of the ordinary."

While they were waiting for their food they noticed the slur.

"Shock, just absolute shock," Burns continued. "This has never happened to me in all my years. I'm from this area, and I've lived here my whole life."

Burns said he confronted the young man with the receipt and he claimed it was an accident.

"I said, 'Look at this. What is this? Why would you do this?' And that's when he tried to give me some lame excuse about a computer glitch, where he said 'Sometimes I'll put in a name and it will come out different on the receipt,'" Burns said.

They said that the restaurant manager refunded their food and immediately fired the employee. The couple also wanted to know from the company what they would do in the future to prevent such incidents.

An Arby's spokesperson told NBC that the company had "zero tolerance for discriminatory speech of any kind."

When asked if the company would implement diversity training, the spokesperson said Arby's already has diversity and inclusion training for its employees.

'Good chance you are one': Kid Rock fires back at outrage over his use of a gay slur

Rock music artist Kid Rock doubled down and fired back at his critics who were outraged at his use of a homophobic slur on Saturday.

"If Kid Rock using the word f****t offends you, good chance you are one," he wrote in a response in a Facebook post.

"Either way, I know he has a lot of love for his gay friends and I will have a talk with him. Have a nice day," he added, signing with his real name, Robert James Ritchie.

The musician was criticized heavily after he used the insult against an audience member who was using a cellphone to record his appearance at the FishLips Resort & Grill in Smithville, Tennessee.

"F*** your phone! Yeah! Post this! You can post this! You can post this s*** right now!" he yells on the video.

"You f***ing f****ts with your phones!" he adds before the video cuts out.

One critic said that it was entirely inappropriate for Ritchie to use the gay slur during "Pride Month."

The Facebook post was reportedly taken down after only being online for about two hours, but the tweet with the same message was still available on his account.

Ritchie has been been criticized many times over the years for his brash refusal to follow along with the liberal agenda. In 2019 liberals were outraged when he criticized pop singer Taylor Swift for becoming a Democrat and made a crude joke about her.

"Hey @KidRock — who the f**k asked your sexist & racist ass? Shut your talentless pie-hole and go back to brown-nosing your idiot guru Trump," responded one tolerant liberal.

After the 2020 election he lashed out in a similar fashion at comments from the left that Trump supporters needed to be de-programmed.
